Liverpool are once again being linked with a summer move for one of Barcelona's Brazilian stars.
Over the weekend, Spanish newspaper Don Balon claimed Barcelona are planning to offer Rafinha Alcántara in part-exchange for Philippe Coutinho, and now, Sky Sports claims:
"Juve are planning to submit a bid for Rafinha imminently, as the Italian champions are aware that Liverpool are also very interested".
According to Rafinha's agent, however, the 24-year old wants to stay at the Nou Camp:
"Rafinha has no interest in leaving Barcelona. We have a contract until 2020 and he will finish it normally."
Some info about 'excellent' Rafinha:
* Central midfielder. Can also play as part of a front 3, or on the wings.
* Buyout clause = €75m.
* Scouting Report (Excerpt): "Will to do defensive errands and cover the full-backs and attackers. Flamboyancy and natural flair coincide with his hard-work, selfless running and defensive sacrifice".
* 2014-15: Completed 67% of take-ons, which was more than Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
In my view, Liverpool should steer clear. For a start, Rafinha recently suffered a knee injury, and is not due back until August, which means he'll miss the majority of Liverpool's vital pre-season program.
Plus, the Brazilian has a suspect injury history overall (68 games missed over the last 2 seasons), and in 2015, he spent 200 days out after suffering a cruciate ligament injury.
