Sign for Liverpool? 'Phenomenal' €60m striker wanted by Jurgen Klopp confirms he has 'offers' from 'English clubs'. LFC?

Liverpool are currently linked with a summer move for Sampdoria star Luis Muriel, and according to the Colombian striker, he's wanted by a number of clubs across Europe.

Liverpool once considered Muriel as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, and last week, Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato claimed:

"Liverpool are interested in signing Colombian striker Luis Muriel, and have contacted Sampdoria for information about him".

When asked over the weekend about ongoing transfer speculation, he told Radio Magica:

"I’ve received many offers. I have proposals from Juve, Inter, AC Milan and Roma. Spanish and English clubs have also been making offers”.

Could one of these 'English' offers be from LFC? Some info about Muriel:

* 25-year old striker, who can also play wide. Contract expires: 2019.

* Sampdoria/Udinese: 69 goals/assists in 147 apps (One every 122 mins).

* This Season: 21 goals/assists in 31 apps (One every 109 mins).

* Sep 2014: Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo insisted: "He [Muriel] has a price. €20m euro for a striker of great worth is nothing. He is worth €60m, like Cavani"

* Aug 2014: On his idol: "If I were to do 50% of what [Brazilian] Ronaldo did, I’d be a happy footballer. They tell me that I have his explosiveness but I don’t see similarities".

* Feb 2017: Muriel told reporters: "There are several [transfer] options. My hope right now is to conclude the season on a high and then make a decision.”

* Antonio Di Natale's assessment: “Make a note of the name Luis Muriel. He’s got all the qualities needed to become a phenomenal striker”.

Like Suarez, Muriel is a robust striker who's rarely injured (only 12 games missed since 2014), and after Daniel Sturridge's endless injury woes, injury history should (IMO) be a major criterion when considering a new forward.
