I Want LFC: 'Exceptional' £30m star confirms he wants to play for 'Liverpool' next season

Liverpool are reportedly desperate to sell Mamadou Sakho during the upcoming transfer window, but the French defender has revealed that he'd prefer a return to Anfield this summer.

Sakho is on fire for Crystal Palace right now, but despite helping the Londoners to four wins in his first five games, Sakho still has 'no future at Anfield', and Liverpool are happy to sell to the highest bidder. According to the Echo this week:

"Liverpool are demanding £30m for Mamadou Sakho. A number of clubs are monitoring his situation, and Liverpool will demand even more than the £20m they asked for in January".

Despite being treated like dirt by Jurgen Klopp, and basically turned into a pariah, Sakho still wanted resume his Liverpool career. Speaking to Telefoot on Saturday, Sakho noted:

“I still have a contract for three more years. If I were to wear the Liverpool jersey again, I would be happy to do so. We will see what happens if my future is elsewhere.

Sakho also made clear his frustration with Klopp's endless grudge holding and the disproportionate response to his comparatively minor infractions:

“I was late for training, something that happens everywhere. I paid a fine and I do not know what else I can do. It is up to the boss. He makes the decisions and I can only accept that.”

Forget it. Klopp is too stubborn to reverse his decision. He went so far off the deep end with his treatment of Sakho that he's made a rod for his own back, and allowing the defender back in the team now will be tantamount to admitting he was wrong, and that 'aint happening.

That said, it's Klopp's team, and he has to live and die by his decisions, and if he brings in one or two top class centre-halves this summer, Sakho's absence won't - in the long term - make much difference.

^ Hailed by Gary Lineker as an 'exceptional defender'.
