Liverpool have reportedly submitted an offer to sign one of Brazil's most highly rated young attackers.
According to Brazilian newspaper Globe Esporte today:
* Liverpool have submitted an offer for Santos striker Rodrygo.
* The offer has prompted Santos to schedule a meeting to try and quickly tie him down a professional contract.
Globe Esporte further claims:
"The offer from Liverpool shook Rodrygo, but the idea is for him to stand out in Brazil before going to Europe. Santos plan to offer him a contract with big buyout clause".
Some info about Rodrygo, who is nicknamed the 'new Neymar':
* 16-year old striker, who currently plays for Santos' U20 team.
* 2017: Youngest player to sign with a sponsorship deal with Nike (Neymar was 13).
* Aug 2016: On his football idol: "Neymar is my reference. I'm a fan and I want to follow in his footsteps. I love watching him play and try to imitate his dribbling. Usually I can, but it's hard".
* Aug 2016: Rodrygo's mother told reporters: "He breathes football. When he's not training, he gets upset, and when he's not playing, he's watching games or watching dribbling videos and goals. Sometimes I have to ask him to stop".
Meh. Expect Barcelona to swoop in and sign Rodrygo under everyone's noses.
