Confirmed: 'Fantastic' €24m powerhouse out of Liverpool-Arsenal game with injury' problem

Arsene Wenger has provided a fitness update ahead of Arsenal's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

During his pre-match press conference this week, Wenger confirmed at least one absentee for the game:

"Elneny has an ankle problem, should be sorted in three weeks. He will not be available for Liverpool".

Mesut Ozil missed training on Wednesday after contracting an 'illness', but according to Wenger:

"I think Ozil will be okay. We'll see. Giroud is also back in the squad".

When asked specifically about the Liverpool game, Wenger mused:

"This is an opportunity we have to go and take, not wait for the result. We have to start on a positive attitude. It is always high intensity, and very competitive. Anfield is a special place where the fans are behind their team".

This is a vital game for both Liverpool and Arsenal, and in Arsene Wenger's case, it could be the last time he ever brings the Gunners to Anfield. I'm a huge fan of Wenger, and the Premier League will not be the same without him (just as it lost something when Alex Ferguson left Man Utd).

Of course, all sentiment aside, I hope Liverpool hammer Ar5ena1 into submission.

Torres...what a player (and Arshavin!)
