Jurgen Klopp is set to reignite his interest in one of Liverpool's previous transfer targets.
Last summer, Liverpool were regularly linked with a move for Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, and the time, reports claimed that Anfield was Chilwell's 'preferred destination'.
Liverpool made several offers for Chilwell, but according to Ex-Times journalist Tony Barrett:
"The £10m fee Leicester were seeking for Chilwell went beyond what Klopp thought reasonable and the deal was not done".
Well, despite the fact that Chilwell - who, according to Claudio Ranieri, is 'unbelievable' and 'outstanding' - still has only 4 Premier League appearances to his name, Klopp is back in the race. According to the Daily Express today:
"Klopp has been keeping tabs on Chilwell since last summer and rates him among the finest prospects in the country. Klopp is ready to offer around £10m".
I remain unenthused at the prospect of Alberto Moreno being replaced by a 20-year with barely any experience, but considering the fact Man United paid £28m for Luke Shaw, £10m is a comparatively fair price for an overhyped Brit.
If Chilwell is so 'unbelievable', why is he rarely used by Ranieri? Maybe it's just me, but I don't get the hype over a player who has made just 13 senior appearances.
