After months of marginalisation, it looks like Mamadou Sakho is on the verge of finally sealing a transfer away from Liverpool.
Earlier this evening, the Liverpool Echo claimed:
"Still no agreement between Liverpool and Palace over a deal for Mamadou Sakho [who] is in London awaiting news".
Now, the Daily Express reports:
"Crystal Palace have agreed terms with Sakho, but they are yet to reach an agreement with Liverpool".
The Telegraph further adds:
"Sakho has agreed terms with Palace, but the club are still working on the terms of a loan agreement with Liverpool".
Last week, the Liverpool Echo claimed that Liverpool would only allow Sakho to leave on a permanent £20m deal, so it'll be a surprise if the Reds relent and allow him to leave on loan.
In my view, even if it's just a loan, letting Sakho leave is the right thing to do - nothing positive can be gained by forcing him to stay at the club until, especially when staying means Liverpool will hemorrhage £320k-per-month on wages.
