Anfield MegaDeal: Legend claims Liverpool 'transfer' for 'amazing' £70m attacker 'might happen' soon

Another day, another attempt by Barcelona to (indirectly) tap up Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho.

Brazil legend Rivaldo rejoined Barca this week in an ambassadorial role, and when asked about Coutinho, he insisted:

"This transfer might happen because Barcelona is always going to attract the best. This transfer would be a good thing for Barcelona. He [Coutinho] is a player who would help Barcelona".

Over the last year, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Xavi, and Suarez have all talked up Coutinho, and/or argued that he should quit Liverpool for Barcelona:

* Ronaldinho [May 2015]: "I know what Barcelona look for and he [Coutinho] has those qualities. Barcelona and Coutinho would be the perfect fit".

* Suarez [Aug 2015]: "My favourite player in the Premier League is Philippe Coutinho".

* Neymar [Sep 2015]: "I see many Brazilian players with quality, but one that I like and I think could play here is Coutinho. He has the style of Barcelona."

* Neymar [Oct 2016]: "Playing with Coutinho is always a joy. We’ve been mates for years. We’re made to play with each other".

* Neymar [Nov 2016]: "Coutinho is a great player, I'd like to play with him at Barça".

* Xavi [Nov 2016]: "On form, there are not any better players in Europe. Technically he [Coutinho] is very good, and he would suit Barcelona's philosophy well."

How can Coutinho resist all this adulation from the world's best players (past and present)? As I've argued several times, Coutinho's exit is inevitable, and at some point in the next 12-18 months, he will sign for Barcelona.

* Coutinho: Liverpool reportedly willing to sell for £70m. Hailed as 'amazing' by Joel Matip.
