Anfield MegaDeal? Klopp responds to Liverpool rumours and confirms transfer for 'amazing' £60m attacker is a no-go

Jurgen Klopp has made it emphatically clear that he is not interested in selling one of Liverpool's key players.

Coutinho continues to be linked with moves to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and PSG, but when asked this week about the Brazilian's future, Klopp insisted:

"He [Coutinho] is our player and that's it. We never had any any talks about him leaving, and nothing has changed. It would be nice if big clubs forgot him completely".

This is a stark contrast to Klopp's comments in December, when he told reporters:

"If there’s a club that can pay double what we pay, then I’ll bring the player there myself because who am I to tell them [the player] not to think about their family?".

Recent reports suggest that Liverpool are ready to offer Coutinho a new £150k-a-week contract to keep him at the club, and if this goes through, the Brazilian will become Liverpool's highest paid player.

In my view, none of this will make any difference. Coutinho is destined to quit the club at some point in the next 18 months, and just like with Luis Suarez, no amount of money will keep him at Anfield.

The long goodbye is already underway. Coutinho has already left Liverpool; the fans just don't know it yet.

* Coutinho: £60m-rated (CIES Football Observatory). Hailed as 'amazing' by Joel Matip.
