Transfer Alert: 'Spectacular' attacker who'd 'like to play for Liverpool' can leave for €30m. Sign?

No transfer window is complete without an Arda Turan story, and whilst Liverpool aren't currently linked with Turan, new reports suggest that the Barcelona attacker is available.

According to Sky Sports this week:

"Luis Enrique does not want Turan to leave, but club officials could be tempted to cash...but would not consider letting him leave for less than €30m".

Turan has a long transfer history with LFC (take a deep breath!)

* Apr 2009: Rafa Benitez reportedly made a €10m move.

* Dec 2009: Turan told reporters: "I most want to play at Liverpool because of the culture of the club".

* Mar 2010: Turan reiterated his Anfield preference: "I am a Liverpool supporter. I would like to play for Liverpool".

* Oct 2012: Nuri Sahin posted a picture on his Twitter account of Turan in a Liverpool shirt.

* Oct 2012: Liverpool sent an 'observer' to watch Turan in Turkey's World Cup qualifier with Romania.

* Mar 2013: Reports in Spain claimed that the Reds were lining up a €20m summer bid.

* Aug 2013: ESPN claimed both Liverpool and Arsenal were 'interested'.

* Jan 2014: The Liverpool Echo reported: "Brendan Rodgers [is] pondering a move for Arda Turan".

* Apr 2014: When asked if he is Liverpool fan, Turan told Four-Four-Two magazine: "I have a soft-spot for Liverpool, especially given their history".

* Jul 2014:Turkish newspaper Sabah Spor claimed that Liverpool 'accelerated efforts' to sign Turan.

* Feb 2015: Tutto Mercato claimed that Liverpool were back on Turan's trail.

* Mar 2015: Tutto Mercato further claimed that Liverpool 'were willing to pay Turan's £30m release clause'.

* Jun 2016: Spanish newspaper AS claimed that Turan is 'desperate' to quit Barca.

* Nov 2016: Corriere Dello Sport reported: "Liverpool are interested in Turan, and Philippe Coutinho could be included as part of a possible swap deal".

Turan is still struggling to hold down a regular starting place at Barca, and he's been a substitute or subbed off in 12 of the last 16 games games. With Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, and Mane at the club, Turan might also experience the same fierce competition at Liverpool, but I'd argue he'd have more of a chance of nailing down a regular starting place.

Plus, there's a possibility that Coutinho may leave this summer (to, ostensibly, replace Turan in the squad), so perhaps Liverpool can benefit from that deal with Turan coming the other way?

If Barcelona are willing to sell for €30, should Klopp reignite interest this summer?

* Hailed by Luis Enrique as 'spectacular'
