Confirmed: 'Dangerous' €25m attacker 'Liverpool want to sign' is 'available' for transfer now

Guillem Balague claims that one of Liverpool's (alleged) top transfer targets is available for a move this month.

In December, Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez confirmed that 'Liverpool want to sign' PSG attacker] Jese Rodriguez, and according to Balague today:

"On Jese, he is on the market and available for loan. His wages are too high for Las Palmas. Middlesbrough are interested but they aren’t the only club".

Reds hero Steve Nicol believes that a transfer is possible, and on Monday, he insisted:

"I think this transfer [Jese] is possible. It depends on the money but this deal could happen. Klopp has already said that he is interested in more attacking wide players, so why not Jese?"

Jese is averaging just 26 minutes of pitch time per game this season, and with the recent signing of German international Julian Draxler, it's hard to see how that is likely to improve in the second half of the season.

I can't see a move to Liverpool happening, though. Klopp usually gets his transfer business done early, and it's the middle of January already, so the chances of a deal dissipate with each passing day.

For me, the ideal January target is someone with the best chance of hitting the ground running, and that usually means a player who's already proven in the Premier League. With that in mind, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Klopp ends up signing a Prem stalwart; Shane Long, for example.

* Hailed by former Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as a 'dangerous' player. Cost PSG €25m
