Great News for Liverpool: 'Superstar' £43m attacker cleared for Anfield return during Barcelona trip

After a brief injury scare, Liverpool's top scorer has returned to first-team training.

Sadio Mane limped off the field during the Reds' 4-3 defeat to Bournemouth, and fans feared yet another injury layoff, but the Liverpool Echo has confirmed:

"Mane has been passed fit for Sunday’s Premier League clash with West Ham at Anfield. The Senegal international returned to training in Barcelona on Tuesday".

In recent weeks, Sturridge, Lallana, Firmino, and Coutinho have all picked up injuries, and the injury curse currently afflicting the club's attackers appeared to have struck again at Bournemouth.

Mane's return to action at Anfield this Sunday is an early pre-match boost, but Daniel Sturridge will probably miss out once again. According to the Echo:

"Daniel Sturridge remains a fitness concern. He isn’t part of the trip to Spain as he stayed behind at Melwood to undergo treatment".

Looking on the bright side: an injury to Sturridge now is preferable to a layoff in January, when the Reds will be missing both Mane and Coutinho. Liverpool will need Sturridge available for the heavy January schedule, so with any luck, he'll back up to full fitness by the new year.
