'I like Liverpool': €20m Uruguay star who plays with Suarez confirms he'd sign for Klopp

One of Luis Suarez's Uruguay team-mates has confirmed that he's interested in a transfer to Liverpool.

Speaking to Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport today, 'excellent' Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino revealed:

"My dream has always been to play in England. I like Liverpool and I would like to follow [Marcos] Alonso and many other team-mates of my national team [to the Prem]"

Some info about €20m-rated Vecino:

* 25 year old central midfielder midfielder, who often plays the holding role. Contract expires: 2021

* Fiorentina: 6 goals/assists in 59 apps. 9 apps for the Argentina national team. Missed only 6 games through injury in the last 2.5 years.

* Sep 2015: On Luis Suarez: "I've known Suarez for some time. He has won so much, and he has a lot of experience".

* Sep 2016: On his career goals: "I'd like to win a World Cup, or at least play in it, and make a mark here in Florence. It would be nice to do something important for the Florentines".

* Description on Viola Nation: "Vecino is a technically adept box-to-box player with a good shot, an eye for goal, and a willingness to dig in and scrap.".

Like Liverpool, Fiorentina are a counter-pressing team, so in theory, Vecino will fit right in at Anfield. That said, for a box-to-box midfielder, his goals/assists ratio is incredibly poor, though given his physical attributes, he'd probably be employed as a holding midfielder at LFC.

Worth pursuing?
