'Staggering': Gary Lineker hails 'superb' €26m Liverpool star as Hendo and Klopp react to 'negative' result

England legend Gary Lineker has hailed Jordan Henderson for almost winning today's game for Liverpool.

Reacting to Hendo's second-half wonder-strike, Lineker raved:

"In a game of not the most brilliant goalkeeping we've ever seen that was a staggering save by Randolph from a superb strike by Henderson".

Lineker also had a pop at under-fire goalkeeper Loris Karius:

"Karius may not care what Gary Neville thinks but making the odd save might strengthen his case".

Other post-match reaction:

* Simon Mignolet: "Not the result we wanted, but with the games coming thick and fast we take the positives and get focussed on our next battle".

* Jurgen Klopp: "It's a negative thing that we didn't win but it's still a point. It's mixed emotions."

* David James: "Great point for West Ham today. In time the quality of Payet's free kick will be properly appreciated".

* Slaven Bilic: "Liverpool didn't create clear-cut chances but that Henderson strike was a crucial moment and Randolph showed great quality"

* Roy Evans: "Not the worst performance today but can't keep throwing points away so cheaply. Need our ruthless streak back again, and quickly".

* Jordan Henderson: "Unlucky not to get the 3 points today. We will keep going. Thanks for the support".

* Henderson: €26m-rated (CIES Football Observatory)
