Klopp's Next Transfer? Liverpool pushing to sign 'unbelievable' €20m attacker to replace Ings

Another day, another Christian Pulisic rumour, and new reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is keen to sign Pulisic to cover the absence of Danny Ings.

According to the Daily Mail:

"Danny Ings’ injury has dramatically altered Klopp's plans. He will now enter the transfer market in January [and] Dortmund's Christian Pulisic is being tracked by the Reds".

Liverpool's alleged interested makes sense. Klopp brought Pulisic into Dortmund's first-team squad during the 2014-15 season, so he obviously knows him well. Plus, he fits the template of the kind of player Klopp likes to develop.

Dortmund, however, are determined to keep hold of the allegedly 'unbelievable' youngster. When asked last month about the Liverpool rumours, BVB sporting director Michael Zorc insisted:

"He [Pulisic] has just turned 18. He can be happy that he debuted at just 17 in the Champions League. This is a great privilege. The correct assessment is to stay for further career development".

Zorc is obviously right. So many teenage footballers have a misplaced sense of entitlement, and an inflated sense of self-worth that deludes them into thinking they're good enough to walk into the biggest clubs in the world. In Pulisic's case, there's (arguably) no credible reason for him to leave such a fantastic, well-run, and passionately-supported Champions League club at the age of 18.

€20m-rated Pulisic has 8 goals/assists in 12 games for Dortmund, which is an excellent return for an 18-year old, and if he can excel in the Bundesliga at such a young age, it certainly suggests he can make an impact in the Premier League.
