Sign for Liverpool? Klopp to make £30m offer for 'sensational' playmaker. 'Interest' confirmed by Agent already

Liverpool are reportedly planning a January offer for 'sensational' Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.

In August, Dahoud's Agent confirmed Liverpool's 'interest' in Dahoud, and in September, the Express claimed:

"Jurgen Klopp had his scouts check out Dahoud during BMG's hammering at Manchester City".

According to German newspaper Express today:

"Dahoud is wanted by Jurgen Klopp. Dahoud has rejected a contract extension, and Liverpool are planning a €30m offer during the January transfer window".

Klopp seems intent on signing Dahoud, and the player's agent has already confirmed LFC's interest, but if Liverpool seal the deal, something will have to give in midfield. Whose place will come under threat?

* If, as seems likely, Jordan Henderson remains captain, then he will play most games.

* If Klopp sticks with a 433 formation, that leaves Can, Grujic, Wijnaldum, Stewart, Lallana (if he stays in midfield), and Dahoud fighting it out of for the other two places (or, just one place in a 4231).

This level of competition may be sustainable in the Champions League/Europa League, but without European competition, it's hard to see how Klopp can keep six central midfielders happy.

Dahoud was recently nominated for the European Golden Boy award, but he - and Liverpool's Marko Grujic - lost out to Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches.
