Anfield MegaDeal: Liverpool reps fly out to watch 'brilliant' €60m striker who smashed 88-year goal record

Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign the 'great hope of Portuguese football'.

According to TV station Nova Sport:

"Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all interested in signing Andre Silva, and Porto president Pinto da Costa is looking for a record transfer fee".

Reports in the UK further claim that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City sent scouts to watch Silva during Porto's weekend 1-1 draw with Benfica.

Some info about Silva, recently hailed by ex-Porto boss Rafael Santos as 'brilliant':

* 21-year old striker, who can also play as an attacking midfielder. Predictably nicknamed the new 'Deco'.

* Porto: 19 goals/assists in 31 apps (One every 121 mins). This season: 13 goals/assists in 17 apps (One every 111 mins)

* Aug 2016: Recently signed a new 5-year deal which contains a €60m buyout clause.

* Oct 2016: Broke an 88-year old record when he scored a hat-trick in a World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands, making him the youngest Portuguese international to ever achieve.

* Oct 2016: Porto boss Nuno Espirito Santo's assessment: "He [Silva] has been scoring many goals and is developing quickly. He still has a lot to learn and improve, but is working hard, and he has a confidence that can make him a major figure of Portuguese football"

Porto have a history of selling youngsters for big bucks, and Silva (along with Ruben Neves) will inevitably become the next homegrown player to sell for a massive transfer fee. I can't see Klopp spending €60m on a single player, but you never know.
