Bad News for Klopp: 'Exciting' £25m Liverpool star set to miss Man Utd game because of 'hamstring' problem

After a brief spell of limited injuries, Liverpool's injury list is starting to expand yet again, with Georginio Wijnaldum the latest to fall victim to the club's infernal hamstring curse.

According to the official Liverpool FC website:

"Georginio Wijnaldum was forced off [during] the Netherlands' defeat to France. Wijnaldum had to be substituted in the second half after picking up a hamstring problem".

Wijnaldum follows recent injury victims Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne onto the treatment table, and with several more international games to come (including England tomorrow), there's still a possibility that the Reds will suffer further issues before the week is out.

If Wijnaldum - who cost Liverpool £25m - has a serious hamstring issue, then he could be out for weeks, but even if it's only a strain, he's unlikely to feature against Manchester United in a week's time.

Liverpool have suffered an incredible 19 hamstring injuries over the last year. Full list:

* Coutinho (x3), Allen, Benteke, Toure, Enrique, Milner, Sturridge, Mignolet, Skrtel, Firmino, Origi, Lovren, Ibe, Moreno, Sakho, Lucas, Wijnaldum: Hamstring XI:

------------- Mignolet
Toure --- Skrtel - Lovren -- Moreno
---------- Lucas - Wijnaldum
Milner ------ Firmino --- Coutinho
------------ Sturridge

SUBS: Benteke, Enrique, Origi, Sakho, Ibe, Allen.

Wijnaldum's misfortune is (potentially) Emre Can's gain, and the injury gives Can a chance to regain his place in the team. Cometh the hour, cometh the man?

^ Hailed by Klopp for his 'exciting' potential
