Liverpool are reportedly tracking MLS sensation Alphonso Davies, who is also being watched by Manchester United.
According to Canadian newspaper The Province, Liverpool sent new scout Andy O’Brien [ex-Newcastle defender] to watch 15-year old Davies, who plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Some info about Davies, who is allegedly 'the best prospect the Caps have had in MLS':
* The Liberian-born, Edmonton-raised left-winger, who can also play one the right, or as a secondary striker. Current contract expires: 2018.
* Vancouver Whitecaps: 3 goals/assists in 15 senior apps. Youngest ever player to start for Whitecaps' first team
* Scouting Report: "Impressive combination of pace, technical ability and desire. He’s not backed down from the physical side [and] he’s not shirked his defensive duties".
* Jun 2016: Whitecaps boss Carl Robinson enthused: "It’s important that he keeps his feet on the ground. He's got incredible potential and natural ability, but it’s potential, there’s so many players that don’t fulfill it".
* Sep 2016: Davies on his first-team experience: "I'm getting on the ball a lot, going at defenders one on ones. The speed and physical aspect of the game is way faster and these guys are way stronger. So I've got to match that".
Meh. I just can't muster up enthusiasm when Liverpool are linked with children.
