Klopp's Next Transfer? Liverpool now confident of signing 'excellent' €11m title winner. Bad news for Sakho?

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Hoffenheim defender Fabian Schar.

According to multiple reports this week:

* Klopp sent scouts to watch Schar in action for Switzerland during the recent international break.

* Liverpool's boss has allegedly 'admired' €11m-rated Schar for years, and Liverpool 'confident' of agreeing a transfer.

Some info about Schar:

* 24-year old central defender. Current contract expires: 2019. Won three league titles in a row at FC Basel.

* 114 apps for Basel (23 goals/assists, which is excellent for a defender). 29 apps for Hoffenheim. 26 apps for the Swiss national team (6 goals).

* Description on Hoffenheim's website: "An attacking threat at set pieces and also good with the ball at his feet. Schär is capable of further development, but he's also already experienced a lot in his career".

* Jul 2015: Hoffenheim's Sporting Director raved: "Schar's build-up play is excellent, and he has huge potential".

Like Ragnar Klavan, Schar is another prototypical Jurgen Klopp transfer target: cheap, comparatively unknown, under the radar, and a consistent performer on the international stage.

In recent months, Liverpool have also been linked with Schar's Hoffenheim team-mate, Niklas Sule, so perhaps Klopp's long-term plan is to bring both players to Anfield?
