In January, £34m summer signing Sadio Mane will head off to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Senegal, which means he will be missing for Liverpool during an absolutely crucial stage of the season.
The 2017 AFCON runs from the 14th January to the 5th February, and if Senegal get to the knockout stages of the competition, then Mane will potentially miss the following Liverpool games
* Jan 7th: Fa Cup third round tie
* Jan 14th: Manchester United (A)
* Jan 21st: Swansea City (H)
* Feb 1st: Chelsea (H)
* Feb 4th: Hull City (A)
If Liverpool advance in the competition, Mane - hailed this week as a potential 'superstar' by Danny Murphy - may also miss the League Cup semi-final, with both legs scheduled for January.
Of course, Senegal may go out in the Group stage, which will see Mane return early.
Even so, he'll probably need a rest after travelling thousands of miles and playing three high-intensity games in a short space of time.
Luckily, Joel Matip is in self-imposed exile from from the Cameroon squad, but that could change before January.
