Liverpool Stunner: Klopp flies out to watch 'world-class' £70m superstar who wants transfer to Anfield [Photo Proof]

Last Month, multiple reports claimed that 'world-class' Argentine superstar Gonzalo Higuain is keen to sign for Liverpool this summer, and new developments this week suggest that there may be some veracity to this seemingly improbable transfer rumour.

In May, The Mirror claimed:

"Gonzalo Higuain is interested in joining Liverpool...and would like to play under Jurgen Klopp".

Higuain has a £70m release clause in his contract (confirmed by Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentis) but that whopping figure doesn't seem to be deterring Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

A reporter for news organisation Bloomberg claims that Klopp watched Argentina's match with Chile last night alongside Higuain's brother (who is also his agent), and the following photo appears to support that:

Higuain is the type of marquee signing coveted by Liverpool fans, and his stats over the last few years are absolutely formidable:

* Napoli: 91 goals/28 assists (119) in 146 apps (One every 93 mins).

* This season: 42 goals/assists in 42 apps (One every 78 mins)

* 2015-16: Broke the serie A single-season goals record with 36 goals in 35 games.

A goal/assist every 78 minutes is a Suarez-esque rate of creativity, and like Suarez, Higuain is incredibly robust, and is rarely injured (missed just six games through injury since 2012).

Liverpool will have to double the club's record transfer fee to sign Higuain, and that seems unlikely in a year without European football. Pictures don't lie, though - Klopp chose to watch the Argentina game alongside the Agent of one of the world's most prolific strikers, and that strongly suggests that something is happening behind the scenes.

If Liverpool can somehow contrive to sign Higuain, it will be (IMO) one of the most exciting transfers in years. Fingers crossed!
