Shock Start Tonight? Exceptional' £10m Liverpool star makes last-gasp injury recovery. Klopp confirms 'decision' imminent

Less than a month ago, Liverpool striker Divock Origi^ left Anfield on crutches after being hacked down by Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori, and it looked like he'd miss the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage. Well, playing in a European final is clearly a great motivator, as it looks like Origi will be available for the game.

According to the Liverpool Echo today:

"Liverpool striker Divock Origi has been passed fit for the Europa League final...after coming through Monday’s training session unscathed".

When asked on Tuesday about 'exceptional' Origi's chances of making the match-day squad, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp told reporters:

“We will see. We have another session. He [Origi] has had two, and done well. We will see how he feels and then make a decision.”

Origi may have recovered from his injury, but he won't be match-fit, and I personally don't see the wisdom of including half-fit player on the bench for a European final. Surely bench spots should be reserved for fully match-fit players?

That said, Emre Can returned to action against Villareal after an injury layoff, and put in a good performance, so - if called upon, perhaps Origi can do the same?

Sturridge is nailed-on to start against Sevilla, but Klopp has started Origi ahead of him several times this season, and it will undoubtedly be the shock of the season if Origi gets the nod on Wednesday.
