'Congratulations to Liverpool': Balotelli/Carragher etc react to Sevilla disaster, and slate 'atrocious' £12m LFC misfit

After some fantastic victories in the competition, Liverpool's Europa League capitulation against Sevilla is a bitter pill to swallow, and Kolo Toure's performance aside, there are very few positives to take from the game. Here is a selection of post-match reactions:

Mario Balotelli

"Congratulations to Liverpool players anyway".

Jamie Carragher

"Sevilla deserved their win. Liverpool were very poor in the second half".

Dietmar Hamann

"Congratulations Sevilla. Best team won on the night. Disappointing but no more to say".

Luis Garcia

"Just congratulate Sevilla. Great 2nd half. Hope and Believe for better things next season".

Steve McManaman

"His [Moreno's] principal job is to defend, but he was Sevilla’s best player tonight. His challenge for the first goal was atrocious".

Michael Owen

"Moreno cost Liverpool tonight. It's impossible to explain what Moreno was doing (for the first goal) it's a shocking header. There was a massive gap at left back and moreno wasn’t filling it".

Unai Emery

"Alberto Moreno is playing a great season for Liverpool, and he is playing at a level that he can go back to the Spanish national team".

Hmmm. On tonight's evidence, I doubt that Vicente Del Bosque will agree with that assessment (!)
