Injury Nightmare: 'Fantastic' £20m Liverpool star out for the season after 3rd hamstring injury

Last week, on-loan Liverpool attacker Lazar Markovic admitted that he'd 'lost all motivation' at Fenerbahce as a result of a succession of injury problems, and his motivation is unlikely to improve after today's news.

Markovic - hailed by Jordan Henderson as a 'fantastic' player - has missed 20 games through injury this season, and in a recent with Turkish newspaper Fanatik, he admitted:

"Now I'm so frustrated. I want to contribute to the team play, after all my injuries I've lost all motivation".

According to Turkish newspaper Milliyet today, Markovic has been ruled out until the end of the season with a hamstring injury (his third of the season)

Markovic's impact at Fenerbahce this season is negligible impact, so he clearly won't be missed.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp recently confirmed that Markovic is 'welcome' back at Anfield this summer, but after suffering *three* separate hamstring injuries this season, it's unlikely that he'll be able to handle the intensity required.

Anfield legend Mark Lawrenson just about summed it up in a recent interview:

"Markovic didn't do enough at Anfield, and you can only give a player so many chances. You have to be realistic and a touch harsh: How many times did he get to the byline and cross? How many did he score? Not many".

If Markovic can't do the business in the Turkish league (2 goals/3 assists in 20 games/no goals in the league), he's not going to excel in the Prem, and in my view, the best thing to do is sell him to the highest bidder.
