'Next Lewandowski' to Anfield? Liverpool chase 'amazing' €13m striker with 65 goals/assists in 71 games

With Christian Benteke seemingly on the way out of Anfield, Liverpool are reportedly considering potential replacements, and the latest name to enter the fray is Ajax striker Arkadiusz Milik.

On Tuesday, the Liverpool Echo reported:

"Liverpool and Everton are interested in Ajax Milik. Arsenal and Leicester City also taking a look ahead of a likely summer switch".

When asked this week about the possibility of a transfer to the Premier League, Milik's agent told Italian website La Lazio Siamo Noi:

"There are rumours [and] Milik is being observed by some top European clubs, who have expressed their interest to me".

Some info about Milik, who is dubiously nicknamed the 'next Lewandowski':

* 22-year old striker whose current contract expires in 2019. Reportedly available for £10m (€13m).

* Ajax Total: 65 Goals/assists in 71 apps (One every 77 mins)

* This Season: 33 Goals/assists in 37 apps (One every 86 mins)

* Europe (CL and EL): 13 goals/assists in 18 apps (One every 103 mins)

Poland: 10 goals in 24 games.

* Feb 2016: Ronald De Boer's assessment: "Milik is a player who has amazing skills...but he often runs too deep, and needs to work on his ball retention".

With 10 goals/assists in his last six games, Milik is on fire at the moment, and with Klopp's history of success with Polich players, it makes sense to target Milik. Alas, Liverpool may be out of the running as Milik supports one of the club's arch rivals:

"My dream is to play at Manchester United. I am a fan of the Red Devils, so I would love to someday play in the team at Old Trafford".

Man United notwithstanding, Milik's has superb minutes per goal/assist stats for 22-year old. Should Liverpool pursue him?
