Legend warns: 'Unbelievable' £15m Liverpool target will flop at Anfield just like 'Adam Lallana'

Liverpool are currently linked with summer transfers for both Danny Ings and Charlie Austin, and of the two, Reds fans - myself included - emphatically prefer Austin. Anfield legend Steve Nicol isn't impressed, though, and he's warned his old club to steer clear of signing the QPR man.

In May, I conducted a poll on the site, asking fans to choose between Ings and Austin. A whopping 75% of fans preferred Austin over Ings.

When asked over the weekend about Liverpool's interest, Nicol admitted that Austin 'has talent', but argued that he'd probably follow the same underwhelming trajectory as Adam Lallana, another British player with 'ability, skill, and a little something different':

“Lallana...hasn’t worked [and] he [Austin] is going to be another player that falls into the category. Liverpool need to sign players that from the get go we know what we are getting and [will] drive the club forward from the situation.”

I totally agree with Nicol here. Last summer, I argued that Liverpool would not move forward with the likes of Lallana and Lambert, and it's exactly the same this year: Milner, Ings, Clyne, Austin et al will NOT push the Reds to the next level, and it's endlessly depressing to see the club linked with such (comparatively) average players.

If, however, Rodgers is dead-set on signing one of either Ings or Austin, then there's only one winner (IMO): The case for £15m-rated Austin, recently described by Harry Redknapp as an 'unbelievable' striker:

* More prolific in the Prem: 17 goals/7 assists (24) in 35 apps, compared to Ings' 10 goals/4 (14) assists in 36 apps.

* Older and more experienced, with no significant injuries in the last four years.

* 47 goals/assists in 72 apps for QPR overall.

* Goal/assist every 1.5 apps (vs. Ings' 1 every 2.3 apps)

* 188 appearances in the the last five seasons (an average of 38 games per season)

* 37 appearances during the 2013-14 season (after his failed medical).

If Liverpool can get Austin for £10m, then I'd take him over Ings in a heartbeat, but Jackson Martinez and Luciano Vietto - both of whom are available - are infinitely superior options.

  1. My ideal, yet reasonably realistic summer: J. Martinez, Vietto, Kovacic, K. Navas, Illarramendi, Yarmolenko, Janmaat.

A knocked off yet still pretty okay summer: L. Adriano, Austin, Milner, Neto, Song, Konoplyanka, Montoya

  2. I'm not against the idea of signing any player, regardless of nationality, especially one that has EPL experience. But the whole idea of going overboard by paying disgusting amount of pounds for either unestablished, young or one season wonder is disgusting. Rather sadly, LFC is the numero uno in this category and our present and past managers during FSG era made heavenly gurus for the entire footballing world to see.

  3. Cant see us signing Austin, when Ings is free, what's the point,?
not much difference between them, maybe different styles,
but IMO would yield the same results.

  4. I would check out on youtube, Luiz Adriano misses, before you decide to include him next time,
    You just wont believe it.

  7. Don't sign Ings or Austin. Get two fast footed, tireless working clinical finishing strikers and a leader/defensive mid and a real playmaker in midfield. ADD A Gk.
    Unload the deadwood,
    ALLEN, JOHNSON, COATES, MARKOVIC, BALO,LAMBERT,BORINI,ENRIQUE,JONES
SWAP STERLING FOR A GREAT PLAYER LIKE ISCO NOT WALCOTT AND GIBBS.

Promote five of our best kids. If we don't do this then we will all know that it's biz as usual; same sh?t, different day.........

  8. "It's unacceptable for me," Skrtel said when asked about the contract offer that has been presented to him by Liverpool.

"I think that contracts like this offered to players who are much older than me or the player who had some health problems.

"The contract which has been offered to me is unacceptable, so I did not sign it. I have one year left and there has been some speculation about the interest from other clubs. We will see what happens."

So it is likely he could leave and could be the reason why Toure was offered an extension. Hopefully Ilori is given a chance to prove himself next season.

  10. Poor Lallana had an injury riddled season and gets called a flop i think he will be a success if injury free if only we had not paid 25 million for him he has to carry a fair expectation.

#Ancelotti has officially said NO to AC Milan proposal. He wants a break so he'll not accept any job. The same he said to #LFC, 2 weeks ago.

Who else have FSG or are still approaching if true??? Their silence is deafening...

  14. if Skrtel leaves who is going to defend?
I think Mignolet will be all be himself .
    FSG are going nuts !!

  15. these guys in charge of FSG lack ambition and any footballing knowledge or interest.
Unfortunately, without doubt the club will become one of a villa or brom sooner than we are anticipating.
Club has become a laughing stock

    ReplyDelete
  16. I agree to some extent , but he is the most tireless worker in our defense. Sometimes he losses focus quite early and make stupid decision, but we can't ignore the sheer number of blocks/interceptions he makes and the way he keeps quality strikers in check.
My question is - who is going to share that burden if he departs?(i don't see any reliable defender in our current squad)

    ReplyDelete
  17. At the end of every season either Tom Werner or John W Henry will have something to say about the season past and the new season coming.

The fact that they have said nothing yet could indicate that they are hard at work trying to find a solution. IF they have already approached Ancelotti then you can be rest assured they have and are still approaching others.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's not hard to figure out.
LFC's miserable run is down to this cl@wn and his poor vision and work rate.
FSG need to find a managerial replacement asap , else they'll have no one to blame except themselves

    ReplyDelete
  19. It is not just about individual players and whether they canbe replaced etc it is about perception and trust loyalty etc. If you are lowballing potential signiongs and your established players AND not competing in CL you are unlikely to attract the players you need or keep the best ones

    ReplyDelete
  20. I belive Lovren and Sakho could still form a very good partnership. Whenever they have lined up next to each other they have done a decent job.

When Agger left, Skrtel lost his partner in crime. He is a decent CB but will never be a Terry, Carra,

    ReplyDelete
  21. presenting him with a stupid contract proves the incompetency of FSG in handling matters.
We need to hold on to this man - finding quality/experienced defenders ain't that easy.
And considering the current state of affairs , i don't think any decent/upcoming defender would show any interest in project LFC

    ReplyDelete
  22. We will have to see what happens in the summer but the players we have been linked with like Milner and Ings quite honestly will not be sending shivers down the oppositions spine.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ings isn't actually free because Burnley will need a fee because Ings is under 23 and came through the academy. (Like a form of compensation)

  30. Why is it so obvious to all, that these two (and Benteke) are not good enough to move the club forward but not obvious to the people who make the decisions. Hopefully it is all just unfounded speculation.

With them liverpoolfc will be lost in wilderness for long and may need long to return back.

Its true that they saved us from administration but who wouldnt when u get a club in such discounted sale.

NO AMBITION.. NO RESPECT TO SENIOR PLAYERS

FSG WILL KILL THIS CLUB FOR SURE

The thing is though why wait until end of the season to approach Klopp?

When he announced he was leaving Dortmund was when BR lost the FA Cup. I think that he WOULD actually come, but as the BILD report said he made 1 condition - transfer committee to be scrapped.

And we know how the Americans feel about that never mind the fact that their success rate in the market is appalling...

How not a single member of that committee didn't get fired is beyond me... Yet the Red Sox lose 5 games in a row and the manager and support staff are out the door...

  35. The bottom line is that FSG chanced their arm with the develop young/moneyball system and hoped BR would get them consistent champions league, create wealth and therefor attract the best players etc. They were unlucky, it almost worked, but it didn't, they don't have a plan B so are giving it another go this year.

It won't work again. So if you are FSG you have two choices, continue as you are for the foreseeable future and make some money settling for mid-table or sell.

The only hope for us fans is, sell. We need a multi billionaire like the others. Rumours of perennial mid-table clubs being bought by the rich is worrying, Chelsea and Man City have proved that this works, "buying" the PL title is now the only option for success.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Unfounded speculation... nah.. when every possible media outlet has reported it and mostly liverpoolecho. The thing is

  46. I don't mind this signing, I think he will add balance to our midfield and allow Henderson to play more on the final third.

What I hope is that the wages being quoted are not reality but to be honest I think it is. Who knows, Milner may really flourish if played in midfield consistently.

    Welcome James.

    BR...don't play him at RWB.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They saved the club they are rebuilding the stadium they have given plenty of money to spend on players what more do you want.

  48. Let's hope Liverpool don't mes up his medical like they did with Remy..still can't believe it. It would have been a different season if we had signed him.

    #Poor

Maybe this is why FSG are reluctant to sack BR...

  51. Think we should look to see who porto are trying to sign to replace martinez and go for whoever it is. They always pick someone up cheap and they end up being very good players. Not that i would say no to martinez but we could've and should've had this guy a few years ago for 6'million.

  54. Oh, I am not worried about him, he is built like an ox, I am worried about the medical at LFC. Remy issues come ringing back....

    ReplyDelete
  55. Skrtel and Agger weren't a particularly solid partnership either. Skrtel was at his best when playing alongside Carra IMO

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thinks so, no excuse for that and even against Qpr (home )

    ReplyDelete
  57. Don't agree with Nicol on Lallana, he's looked good after a run of a few games when coming back from his injuries this season. If Sterling goes this summer I'd expect Lallana to be a lot more involved next season

    ReplyDelete
  58. Blah Blah Blah! Steve Nicol. what a suprise, doesn't like something about LFC. Sick of hearing Steve Nicol spout his bull.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Perhaps he used his hyperbole to convince FSG? I don't just know the man has about 1million tongues in him

    ReplyDelete
  60. Austin three times more expensive than Ings if this valuation is true. Is he three times better? No. Has he scored three times as many goals? No. Does he even have the all round game of Ings? No. So yeah, Mo brainier.
Milner has signed depending on a medical.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Exactly, Lallana IS a great player, but people love to miss the point and just follow the crowd, the majority of whom think any player that isn't Messi like is a damned flop... Lallana was injured alot last season, he barely got to string more than 5 games together.... He will be a great player for LFC this season aswell.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yarmolenko is quality IMO. Would be an upgrade on Sterling I think

  71. Someone please check on Jamie, he must have gone ballistic with this Milner news... :)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Not s passenger as such but certainly not great. He needs others to adapt to his game which entails backtracking to the point of sitting in the stands.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Careful with the Milner remarks people, or his name will be added to the word filter!

    :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  75. It shouldn't take long. Cut and paste here and there.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  77. small time manager, mediocre players is turning Liverpool into mid level club next season.

    ReplyDelete
  78. He is talking about their management of the team not club infrastructure and finances.
U guys always point this out when someone points the fact that since fsg came in last 2 seasons was the one and only time we've looked like a proper top club. We've been firmly rooted in midtable since the came.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Danny Ings or Charlie Austin? I vote for someone better! Our scouts and transfer committee are useless. We set up the committee to prevent waste, but we've flushed a huge amount of money down the toil8t.We need new people to help identify quality players.
I'd take Liverpool doing transfers with an X Factor style fan vote, over the targets chosen by our recruitment team. It's s4d, but our supporters seem to be more knowledgeable than the clubs decision makers.
With the substandard heavily linked players mentioned, we can look forward to another car crash season.

    ReplyDelete
  80. According to a City fan, Milner's "versatility is staggering". I think I know where the Frigman is going to play.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Why mention them at all it isnt their fault the so called experts bought rubbish.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Assistant ballboy - he can run up and down the pitch easily

    ReplyDelete
  83. Cant we get Ings and someone better as well?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Well of their 3 managers which can u say are worldclass?
Which of them have won anything of note ?

    ReplyDelete
  85. I sort of hoped that was what we got last year with Balotelli and Lambert but no. I still agree with you though. Ings is younger and quicker than Lambert and hopefully we can also get another quality proven striker to go with him and then look to improve defence.

    ReplyDelete
  86. get rid of lambert and borini and bring in ings on a free along with a major striker like J. Matriness , Vietto , Benteke.

Last time i checked there were some great players available for free, we really need a top class leader in the centre of the park and a striker. Defence we have more than enough cover and 1 striker is all we need. Balotelli needs a strike partner and none of this 1 up front to lead the attack.

Im happy to give Balotelli another shot with an actual run in the team with a proper striker none of this sterling up front. He couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat let alone the back of the net.

  92. England have dropped one place from 14th to 15 FIFA standing this week.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Look at our recent track record of buying forwards.Fabio Borini, Lambert, Mario Balotelli and Aspas.I don't trust the transfer committee to come up with better. That's the problem.
Divock Origi is coming.Jerome Sinclair has shown promise.DS is quality when fit, Ings and another? Plus we haven't even secured buyers for our current striking flops to free up forward spots.Benteke has been strongly linked with a big money move but i don't think he suits our style of play.
I hope your right and they surprise us with a special player, but i wouldn't put money on it.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I knew that was coming. And did they not fire him for much less than this clown. Yet he's still in charge. We haven't signed any player with any European pedigree since suarez. They came and met a squad full of experience at the highest level and replaced it with what we have on our hands. A team full of over rated British talent and have just added another overrated squad player. If he was good enough he'd be starting for city.
We don't look like a team that can finish anywhere near the top 4 next season. Last year was the year we should have consolidated our place. But we went after players that .....well u know what happened. And looking at what we've been linked to we are going no where fast. And that can only lay at the feet of fsg. Hiring a Swansea manager who has won nothing and before that a fulham manager that has won nothing of note. Mark my words
Next well be hearing Eddie Howe will be offered the job if he finishes mid table or the other block at Norwich. Cause that's their M.O. and it's depressingly apparent.
Hire managers / buy from mid table and stay mid table.

A lot of our signings during the Benitez era were off the back of some pretty incredible C.L performances.
With the incomes of Chelsea and City competition for top 4 became harder than ever.
We our now buying from pool B the club does not attract the likes of Alonso or Torres any more its a big grind.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Pedro was never going to come here... just a pipe dream.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Charlie Austin? He may be a decent enough finisher in the box, but Ings is much the better allround player in terms of technique, movement off the ball, work rate team player. Ings had to play with the worst team in the EPL so his output in the goals column could not be expected to be that great..

    ReplyDelete
  103. I think FIFA has dropped a lot further in England's standing

    ReplyDelete
  106. I don't get how you can come to this conclusion... The Stadium is being improved and increased, they have spent over £200m in 3 years on players and they are still prepared to spend more on the right players.... ReplyDelete
  114. there is money to buy quality its like being rich seeing something you can afford but cant have.

    ReplyDelete
  115. 1. You don't know that they waited until the end of the season to approach Klopp.

    2. We don't really even know who is actually on the transfer committee, let alone if any of them have been fired or not.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Ultimately, is it a big deal? Not really.

But there are still situations that could be deemed "sensitive" and should be avoided.

And the number 7 shirt is a sensitive situation.

Suarez even said that he wouldn't have taken the number if he knew its significance.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Simply put... Liverpool didn't "mess up his medical". They decided to go after Balotelli instead so they made Remy fail his medical.

These clubs can pass and fail whoever they want for whatever reason.

    ReplyDelete
  118. If FSG wanted to kill the club, they could have just let it go to administration.

Plus they've only spent HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF POUNDS since coming here. But who's counting?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Agree totally... as Darovar said below, Ings won't be free, but he should be considerably cheaper than Austin.

Value for money, Ings is the better buy in my opinion.

  122. So what if Skrtel leaves. We will have headless Chicken teeny weenie Allen at DM thi season. Hooraahhh! The Marines have landed.......

    ReplyDelete
  123. The medical is probably done already. The club doesn't usually make it official until afterwards, and the article on the site says he "will join the club on a free transfer on July 1 after his contract at the Etihad Stadium has expired." Not much room for uncertainty. Remy was never confirmed like this.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Be an incredible signing

    ReplyDelete
  125. His name is Tevez !!!

    ReplyDelete
  126. we have Milner, Lucas, Hendo and Can in CM/DM. Even though i still think we need another proper enforcer in DM I can't see Allen having a lot of playtime

    ReplyDelete
  127. nick the white

  128. No, you got the character wrong! But in a sense, he's just a younger Gandalf with a lightsaber instead of a staff...

    ReplyDelete
  129. NANI FOR FREE. WORLD CLASS PLAYER WHO WAS TRAINED BY THE BEST ALEX FERGUSON. Nani is still one of the best and accomplished wingers in the world, played with ronaldo and has unbelievable statistics. Nani is 20 times sterling,

right now if we buy Nani for Free, Milner for Free, Yarmolenko for £20M, Vietto for £14M and Clyne for £15M im over the moon. if after we wrapped all that up we can try to add a world class centre forward like say maybe Gonzalo Higuain, Marco Reus if there still available. Nani, Milner, Yarmolenko, Vietto and Clyne are all available now and we can become a world class team with these simple purchases

    ReplyDelete
  130. Are you Nani's love child?

    No No No and No

Reus? no way will he come here

Love how you always state a few changes you suggest would sort everything out...

You should have a brilliant managerial career ahead of you

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well once LFC saw Jaimie call him "James Friggin Milner", they upped the wages to 200k to ensure the signing

    ReplyDelete
  132. ------------------------Mingolet
    Clyne----------Skrtel--------Sakho---------Moreno
    -----------------Milner----------Hendo
    Yarmolenko-----------Coutinho-----------Nani
    ---------------------------Vietto

subs: Can, Ilori, Lucas, Lallana, Origi, Markovic, Ibe

pace, winners mentality, and end product from the front three of Vietto, Nani and Yarmolenko.
this season they have 88 goals/assists between them which exactly what we need and the likes of Coutinho and Henderson need to ensure there good passes and chances arent wasted by the likes of Lallana and Markovic who are not good enough and cost what all these players will cost.

    ReplyDelete
  133. This is comment of the day, it still makes me laugh. The way you called him 'Friggin'...oh my god...

    ReplyDelete
  134. thankyou. i plan to get into one day. for now i want to help my beloved Liverpool and i cant stand by as a fan and watch us Waste £45m on Markovic and Lallana who have done zero for the club when we can get world class players like Nani, Vietto, Yarmolenko for £35M.

or how about Allen and Lovren who cost £35M? we cant waste money on these useless overrated players who are sitting on our benches collecting money when there is top class players like Vietto and Son Heung Min with £15M release clauses.

if my words could just be heard we wont be in 6th.

if we get Nani for Free from United to replace sterling, Yarmolenko for £20m and Vietto for £14M we will get top 4 and win the europa league. great season

    ReplyDelete
  135. What do people think are business will be this summer. Milner & Ings seem nailed on. We'll obviously need a right back. The Kovacic rumours probably mean we are after another midfielder, i think Lucas will go whoever we get.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's it. We'll only get another striker if Balotelli goes & i've got a bad feeling he'll stick around.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Do you remember the last time we tried a free signing from Utd? Not going to happen.

Not that I want him anyway, but still...

    ReplyDelete
  137. How can you have a name like Kopite yet keep advocating the signing of a player that failed to consistently cut it at Utd?
Who will you champion next, Djemba Djemba?

    ReplyDelete
  138. Have we buried Sturridge under the patio?

    ReplyDelete
  139. David Bellion

    ReplyDelete
  140. failed? 4 premier league titles, FA Cup, Champions LEague and 40 goals/73 assists in 230 games from wing.if you believe Nani failed your mad. or would you rather support a team that has players like Lallana who have won zero in the game yet are 27. appauling

    ReplyDelete
  141. Ok so where did the world class manager take them to?

The squad was appalling when they came in . Old, declining, and many not even Premier League class
El Zhar. NGog Jovanovic Babel Spearing Riera Aqualani Poulsen Cole Shelvey degen Insua Itanje Cavalieri Kyriakos Ince

that's 17 players who were rubbish and needed replacing. Other good players were old or in decline: Rodriguez, Kuyt Benayoun Torres Aurelio.

There's only 25 in the squad.. Our youth players were not cutting it.

Full of experience? Needing complete overhaul more like

    ReplyDelete
  142. Cannot see Balo going unless Liverpool get 16m back ,which will never happen .

    ReplyDelete
  143. That's why they left him on the bench then loaned him out, because he was one of their best players

Being in a winning squad is not the same as being great yourself, especially years later.

Djimi Traore has CL medal. does that make him a great player?

    That comment is appalling

    ReplyDelete
  144. well whilst United won nothing last season Nani at least added another trophy to his collection in the portugese fa cup and also scored some absolutely worldies. watch nani last season and you will know hes a winner and a champion

    ReplyDelete
  145. Ash1 ,
All reports say that FSG are not taking 1penny OUT of Liverpool coffers ,that all is being reinvested !

    ReplyDelete
  146. irrelevant to this discussion. You rate him. Most don't.
winning the Portuguese FACup? That's your response to :

Getting only 7 goals in the league
Failing to make the Man U side for over two thirds of two consecutive seasons
    Being sent out on loan

    The FA Cup ?
Wigan won the FA Cup ffs

    ReplyDelete
  147. There's not a shred of evidence that Nani is World Class

7 goals in a season (27 appearances) - 1 goal every FOUR games isn't World Class

    Get a grip.

Why aren't any top teams after him then , for free?

    ReplyDelete
  148. Can see us writing off a few mill, just think his wages be problem. Very few Italian teams can pay him what he wants & his stock has never been lower.

    ReplyDelete
  149. No way we need a top striker Vietto/Son/MartinezHiguain.

Plus creative spark/defensive cover in midfield Kovacic/ Kondogbia .

A right back Montoya/Clyne and ideally a left back Kolorov

suggestions are likely 1st, long shots 2nd

    ReplyDelete
  150. this guy could be our Masch

    https://youtu.be/U6lGIOZ3Pa4

    ReplyDelete
  151. Yeah, agree but with Sturridge, Ings ,Origi we're not going to sign another striker unless Balotelli goes. Sturridge out till october, could be starting the season with those 3

Good player but he'll never replicate that prodigious scoring record in the PL imo. I know it's only a YT vid but look at how shambolic the defending is, around the 6 min mark he has 4 or 5 players around him including at least 2 in positions between him and the goal and he's allowed to take 2 or 3 touches before getting his shot off. That would never happen in the PL.
He's a "straight down the middle" player, great poaching finisher yes, but I'd still pick a fit Studge over him all day long.

Saying all that though, he's still a massive improvement over LamBorTelli and I wouldn't complain if we got him. I just wouldn't expect him to be scoring 20+ per season for us.

    ReplyDelete
  153. If you want to judge a team, look at their spine

    Ours should be Migs, Sakho/Skrtyl/ Nainggolan, Milner/Hendo , Kovacic/Sterling Sturridge/ Ings

£20-25m for Nainggolan, £12-14m for Kovacic
£15m for Clyne/ Kolorov, the rest are frees

    £54- 60m give or take.

    Lose Lucas (8m)/Lambert(6m)/Borini(9m) Allen(10m) - £30-35m recouped

Net spend £20-25m. Right in line with FSG policy

    ReplyDelete
  154. NonEventHorizon6:10 pm, June 04, 2015

35m euros is just over 25m pounds which makes a transfer sound a bit more palatable. But you're probably right about him not fitting our transfer policy (if that policy remains this summer) as he's 28.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Poulson, Cole and I think Rodriguez were signed by Roy who I'd like to point out was their first "man". And I think miereles is in there somewhere. But they all signed with a world wide rep. Also world cup experience. Something that has stopped happening at anfield.
Everyone was after Kuyt and babel when they signed for lfc.
When was the last tym we signed any one everyone was after. Not since fsg came in.
Midtable midtable and more midtable. Managers and players alike mid table.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I was joking. Allen is truly useless.............I am not happy about Milners cost / week but he is infinitely better than Allen who should go.........

    ReplyDelete
  157. Hope not, let's just hope he hasn't broken every bone in his body

    ReplyDelete
  158. Yeah. Someone better gets my vote. We've already got Origi coming in as our young upstart.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I do not know...

    ReplyDelete
  160. They are actually both realistic lists, which is promising. A bit on the pricy side, but all the targets are individually realistic. Shows there are good players available.

I'd steer clear of Neto myself and Vietto will go to Atlético but Navas, Yarmolenko, Janmaat and Martinez are all good targets. Adriano is a good realstic target. Kovacic and Illaramendi are both very talented, but I think we'd have to overpay for both.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Ings may have worse stats than Austin and have less experience, but I think he suits Rodgers style more and is cheaper. As a 3rd choice striker, I'd rather have Ings. Of course, it is imperative we bring in a more proven scorer. I have a great fear that the owners and Rodgers will not appreciate the value in the market this summer (or lack thereof) and we will enter the season with Ings, Origi and Mario as our options.

    ReplyDelete
  162. the boy has to go. It's a sin to keep him. zero grace. where the hell did he come from. Ingrate !

    ReplyDelete
  163. Diump Sterling ASAP ! Use money for Benteke n Vietto/Jackson Martines. We can't lose Skrtel. The best to happen to this club is to find a new owner. They're are an embarrassment. We look so cheap with these Yanks !

    ReplyDelete
  164. FSG should be sacked !!! Period !

    ReplyDelete
  165. Filthy Stingy Group ! i can't believe the way we are going about the business. Even to loyal n players that we have n are performing. Top or even average players are reluctant to come not due to Brendan Rodgers but FSG . Wake up guys !!! Suarez/Coutinho thinks highly of BR but people can see how cheap FSG are with the lowballing the players' contract offer. What a disgrace. I'm tired of them. Is having too young a Missus affecting it ? God save our club !!!
