Anfield Update: 'Fantastic' €20m Liverpool target who's 'better than Coutinho' confirms transfer away is not happening

Liverpool recently scouted Lazio attacking-midfielder Felipe Anderson, but is there any chance of the Reds completing a deal this summer for the talented Brazilian?

In March, The Mirror claimed that Liverpool scout Paul Goldrick watched Anderson during Lazio's 4-0 victory over Fiorentina, but when asked today about the possibility of moving to the Premier League, the Brazilian told reporters:

"Next year? All I know is I’ll be playing for Lazio. I only recently renewed my contract for another five years. I’m thinking about that shirt, and nothing else. I don’t know of any offers, my future is at Lazio.”

Liverpool were last linked with Anderson in April, but this response seems pretty emphatic, though public pronouncements in football are rarely worth the air into which they're uttered.

£20m-rated Anderson is often compared to Coutinho, and it's easy to see why: he's a young, Brazilian number 10, who can play left/right etc, but in a recent interview, biancocelesti legend Stefano Fiore claimed that Anderson is the superior player:

"[Coutinho] has long been a staple in Liverpool and his continuity is being rewarded [by Brazil] ahead of Anderson. However, Anderson is currently better than Coutinho, and Dunga cannot ignore him for much longer"

Anderson - described: in January by Sinisa Mihajlovic as 'like Cristiano Ronaldo' - had a great season for Lazio, but is Fiore right? Let's look at the stats:

Anderson

* This season: 11 goals/10 assists (21) in 37 apps.

* Goal/assist every 1.7 games (1 every 120 minutes)

* Lazio Total: 12 goals/13 assists in 45 games.

* Goal/assist every 2.2 games.

Coutinho

* This season: 8 goals/6 assists (14) in 52 apps.

* Goal/assist every 3.7 games (1 every 291 minutes)

* LFC Total:16 goals/21 assists in 102 games.

* Goal/assist every 2.8 games.

The primary role of an attacking midfielder is to score/create goals, and based on the stats related to that objective, it's fair to say that Anderson is performing 'better' than Coutinho.

The biggest difference between the two players is clearly the price tag. Coutinho is one of the transfer bargains of the century, but Liverpool would probably have to pay through the nose to seal this deal.

After wasting £70m on Markovic, Lallana, Balotelli, and Lambert, is this a risk worth taking?

As the recent debacle of a season proved, Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic, Lallana et al are not consistent or prolific enough to propel the Reds into Champions League contention.

Whether fans choose to accept it or not, that is an irrefutable fact. Coutinho, Sterling et al are constantly showered with exaggerated praise, but when the going got tough, they failed to deliver.

As such, it's (arguably) imperative that Liverpool bring in at least one attacking midfielder who is capable of consistently scoring goals.

The club has already missed out on self-confessed Liverpool fan Andre Ayew, and it looks like Yehven Konoplyanka will end up at Sevilla, but my personal choice is Andriy Yarmolenko, another player who is consistently linked with Liverpool.

Yarmolenko smashed in 40 goals/assists this season, and has a long, consistent history of scoring/creating goals. He's big and strong, rarely injured, and confirmed last week that he's definitely leaving this summer.

What are you waiting for, Brendan?

  1. Andriy Yarmolenko is the one Liverpool should get. I mean he possess great pace, skill, talent, ability and most importantly, he can score goals and create them as well. I'm baffled at why Liverpool isn't going after Yarmolenko :)

  2. Yarmo has already said he doesn't want LFC (as most players don't). Fans need to accept that we won't be signing any top quality players this summer as none want to come to LFC and be forced to play out of position for the season under a tactical moron of a manager

    ReplyDelete
  3. And Coutinho's effectiveness is being hampered by the quality of players we have surrounded him with. He is surrounded by a group of ridiculously average talent and is by far outshining them all... sadly I expect him to force a transfer by next summer as we continue to languish under the pathetic structure we have put in place...

    ReplyDelete
  4. When did Yarmolenko state that about LFC? I haven't seen any quotes from him where he specifically rules out Liverpool. Do you have a link?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Even though Jaimie has banned me a couple of times, you will never see me having a dig at him
    ;-)

  6. No one is my friend until they have played in the prem.........Bony, Aguerro, Van Persie, Nistelrooy, Drogba, Tevez, Hasselbank, Bergkamp, Henry, Benteke, Demba Ba, Suarez, Torres etc etc..... all never played in the prem before they where signed in the past just because they haven't proven themselves in the prem doesn't mean they won't.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yeah, I don't think he's said that...

    ReplyDelete
  8. LFC just keep on making the same mistakes over and over and over again. I have been s supporter (thanks to the Scouser my sister married) of this club since the season after we won our last League title, back then the 1st division, and every season since then which has passed this club has fallen from grace. Something has got to give.

    This one will not happen.

I propose we get rid of:
    Mignolet
    Jones,
    Enrique,
    Coates,
    Aspas,
    Borini
    Balotelli,
    Lucas,
    Allen,

And sell sterling to the highest bidder if he wants to go.

    Bring in:

    Bern Leno,
    Matio De Sciglio,
    William Carvalho,
    Mateo Kovacic,
    Son Heung Min,
    Timo Werner,

And Skrtel if they are not going to offer him a decent deal, Sell to the highest bidder. Don't think we need to replace him as we already have enough CB's on our books. The likes of Lovren, Sakho, Toure with some help from the likes of Illori, Lloyd Jones we should be OK provided that a real CDM like William Carvalho is covering in front.

I think we can attract the above players and bring through some of our own promising players. Lets face it, I doubt we are buying the likes of Martinez, Tevez, or any real established players. We never have in recent history which goes well beyond BR.

    ReplyDelete
  10. And if recent reports are to be believed, we've again missed out on another of the most promising attacking midfielders in Europe. And again to the Mancs. The express have reported that utd have agreed to sign Roberto Firmino this summer for a measly £13M. Let's hope they've followed the Metros lead and taken to writing fiction.

  11. Well given the choice I would prefer FSG to make an announcement only when everything has been sorted or not do a Newcastle

    ReplyDelete
  12. But if coaching staff have been removed then it should be announced, these are major decisions that have been made so why keep quiet about it? It is just showing the club to be weak. Just like when we sign new players, it gets announced immediately. So why keep quiet or delay things when it comes to getting rid of BR's coaching staff?

I reckon once the news is finally released there is going to be one hell of a crash, boom, bang.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i'm annoyed but it's useless to talk, i feel this kind of statement is actually why british players/national team are so poor, they don't see the subtility that differents midfielders can have.

Coutinho more than a attacking midfielder who'll score load of goals is that he'll use his team mate to shine, the best exemple are player like iniesta, Pirlo, Rakitic, Zidane.
they are all attacking midfielder but they are actually creative midfielder, player just behind the striker who'll create something special (the pass that split defense or eliminating player to create more space for themselves).

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think trophies are again too far away for Atletico in next few years..

    ReplyDelete
  15. But wouldn't you agree that the worst feeling is knowing that there is a simple solution to all of this but FSG simply isn't willing to do anything about it?

    ReplyDelete
  16. England aren't as good as Spain and Germany because Jaimie thinks Coutinho should score more goals? Hmm. Someone call Greg Dyke!

    ReplyDelete
  17. It got Man Citya couple of Premier League titles, if my memory serves me right. The big spenders my friend are almost always the big winners. Look how Man United bought themselves out of a very dangerous hole last season, post Moyes. We will not be doing that, for sure. But, that is exactly what we need to do. I really fear for the future right now. I think we needed to act after the season we've just had. The "model" that is famously banded about as the FSG model, (though I don't personally think it is entirely an FSG thing). Whoever is responsible for this needs to scrap this policy,Now !. When have you ever seen a team of "potentials" win anything significant ? You need a blend of exciting young players with a core of 5 or 6 experienced pros around them.
When you look at the potential sell on value of our squad today, I imagine it is as low as it will have been anytime during the last decade. Would we get £25 mill for Lallana next week. Or what about £40 mill for Lovren and Markovich ? No is the answer. The model is flawed as is our manager. Man Utd (and i really hate to admit it ) did exactly what they had to do. They did quick. No hesitation. New big name manager and throw the cash about. They did this after one season in the European wilderness. We on the other hand have been wandering out there for a good five years now. Basically living on the worldwide fan base that has been built up for forty years or so. And let's not forget, even during the seventies and eighties LFC were never afraid to go out and slash the cash to stay were they were.
If FSG were ambitious and knew anything about the modern game of "soccer" then they would have sacked BR immediately and brought in the biggest name they could find. Oh, and give the guy some big bucks !!

  18. Ha, don't get ideas here mate. There is many a time I would still like to show the finger to some but at the end of it all it just ain't worth the effort.

Many on here still say things like "I am not going to engage with you" etc. Deal with it I say :-)

  19. Where are City when it comes to Europe? They have an aging squad now too and the money will keep on coming but does not mean it will turn into more success. You can throw all the money you have at it, if you do not have any direction which is the position City find themselves in now theen money is as good as toilet paper.

  20. Yes. We unfortunately are now shopping in Primark.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah, a massive turnaround in Logan's fortune!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Now that is scarey. And remind me again, how much did Bodgers pay for those two ? You should get sacked for those 2 reasons alone.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He also said in March that we should be aiming for 2nd spot in Prem !! The man is a fraud.

    ReplyDelete
  24. jaimie's problem (imo) is that he base every thing on data, you can't mesure the impacts some players have in a team purely based on data.

The problem with England is that they are stuck in the past, former player saying stupid things like Benteke (who epitomize the traditional kick and rush british football) is a monster and that Milner is an incredible signing just because he run all day long, that's just thinking of the past. (don't get me started on ings being great technically)

From where i stand (i'm fro Belgium just in case) England seems stuck in their bubble and don't look enough what is going on around them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. After Manseur took over in 08 they've won 2 Premier League titles, 1 Fa Cup, 1 League cup, Qualified for Champs League last 4 seasons and installed a mega training facility.

In the same time LFC have won the League Cup and qualified 3 times for Champions league with a small stadium expansion.

  28. Fair point, but where in sport has money let that team down or not given them a significant advantage over the competition?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree with you on that . No doubt about it. They looked like a team that had passed their best to me,too. The difference is that they will probably sack Pellegrini or, buy 2 or 3 big names to freshen it up. If you spend enough in the PL ,one or two players may be duds, but the other 3 or 4 will do the business. They will spend their way out of it.
As for the CL..... can't disagree with you there. They come up short too often. You would expect them to struggle for their first go at it. But they, as you rightly say, are pretty poor in Europe. They will probably stay that way untill they get a top top manager in like Guardiola or Ancellotti. IMO of course

  30. A chink of light in a dark tunnel- Reports say we are after Douglas Costa ....
Seen plenty of 'we won't sign anybody/we can only get Ings and Bogdan posts.
    Anybody offer something insightful?

  31. Coutinho is one of the few players in the world who strikes me as genuinely appreciative of what Liverpool have offered him.

Now, if a team like Bayern, Real, or Barca come calling, I could certainly understand him looking to move.

But in a world that is covered in greed, Coutinho stands out as someone who thinks beyond just the dollar signs.

  33. NonEventHorizon9:26 pm, June 11, 2015

Yes yes yes to Yarmolenko he's all those things and quick with his feet at pace. He's built for the prem and would definitely improve our first 11, to me he seems like a realistic target we should be talking with now before other clubs come sniffing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We are going to be 'after' many players. Even Falcao 'who wants Anfeld move'...

    ReplyDelete
  35. he sure knows the meaning of the word 'outstanding'

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ok, but what do you think about Costa as opposed to say, Kovacic?
That answer tells us nothing, your point is well and truly made

    ReplyDelete
  37. Of course it is made.

Falcao would be thrilled to line up next to Ings.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I give up.
I honestly wanted your opinion and all we got was another one liner with yet another attempt at sarcasm.
    Carry on.
Maybe I asked the wrong person

    ReplyDelete
  39. That was my opinion. What did you want me to say?

    ReplyDelete
  40. If we were to believe the media, we've also signed Konoplyanka, J Martinez, Vietto, Kovacic, Montoya, Tripier, and Illarramendi...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Your opinion about Costa

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anybody offer something insightful?

Seen plenty of 'we won't sign anybody/we can only get Ings and Bogdan' type posts.

    Sarcasm at it's best.

    Run along.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It is unfair to say that Coutinho has failed to deliver, he may not get 10 goals a season but he has won us MANY points this season with his goals and assists. He can only carry us so far in a team devoid of movement and inspiration; you only need to look at how he plays with Firmino for Brazil to see that he can play at a top level but only with good players around him which we should, theoretically, be able to provide that.
As for Yarmolenko, he would be a marquee signing and provide some decent end product for us from a winged position. Another bonus is that Tevez might be off to Athletico which could leave a gap for us to snatch Vietto from them if they don't need him any more.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Look at how much money has been spent by LFc over the years mate. Where has it got us?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't think that's right actually -- what you're saying is just an outdated cliche. Britain is a cosmopolitan country where many nationalities meet and work together and its football is no different. The problems with the England football team aren't to do with insularity or being shut off to outside influences I don't think. The football they play has been similar structurally to that played by the other big countries for years.

What's your problem with Ings? He has good technique for a striker -- at least as good as someone like Icardi, for example... How's Youri Tielemans getting on? What an exciting talent -- any news of him moving on this summer?

    ReplyDelete
  46. You ask what it Rodgers waiting for Jamie.......I'll tell you, common sense and its a bus that won't ever arrive.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You really think that's an example of sarcasm?
You need to learn what sarcasm is sonny
There's NONE in that post. I just wanted to hear something other than moan moan moan.
But hey, that's something you love, so knock yourself out

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm not saying I believe it. I was just making the point that if he's available and at a reasonable price, I'd be really annoyed if we weren't in for him; especially given the Sterling situation; as he's exactly the profile of player I'd like us to target.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Perhaps he realises the grass isn't always greener and it the current set up riding his laces would cement start

    ReplyDelete
  50. But why say "Anybody offer something insightful?"

What is that when you are just repeating rumours about a player who is not going to join us?

Look at who we have signed, Milner and Ings. Bogdan is Bolton's no 2.

And we are going to sign Douglas Costa? Really? £120m spent last season and who did we sign?

There you have my opinion. Good enough?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think he also appreciates that we helped him to rejuvenate his career after his experience at Inter Milan. I'm glad that he is humble and down to earth and I actually wouldn't hold it against him if he left for a better club when he is ready (Which should be at least three more years) and I genuinely believe that he is the closest we will come to a world class player for quite a few years.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't think Rodgers has the respect or stature with a certain type of player that why he likes British roll your sleeve up dont rock the boat type players ,or as I like to call them average

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree, did you see him linking up with Coutinho for Brazil? Absolutely mind blowing. If Sterling leaves then Roberto Firmino would be my first choice to replace him, as long as the price is below what we get for Sterling it will be worth it because Firmino is a far better player and closer to a finished product.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That's just another

''we won't sign anybody/we can only get Ings and Bogdan'' type post
Just as I said. I wanted to know your opinion on the subject. I didn't get it

    ReplyDelete
  55. Word is that bus is still parked at Stamford Bridge

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Completely Agree. I'd reckon he could link up with Studge really well too if we go 2 up top...

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think given his history, that may very well be the case.

He's still making a good amount of money for his profession.

He left home in Brazil when he was just a teenager. He got married young. He was benched in Italy and sold for peanuts.

I think he has a very wise understanding of the world relative to others (cough cough Sterling cough cough)

    ReplyDelete
  58. He has the opportunity to demand the team is built around him thus gaining a better contract and a regular Brazil start with the added bonus that barca or one on the other big boys will come in for him.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Liverpool just rejected a £30M bid for Sterling from City. We value him at £50M.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Arounf 38 mil.I think... But Im an optimist and think Sakho can remain injury free and he can, in turn, spring Lovren back to life... I have strong faith btw

    ReplyDelete
  61. Good for us. 40M needs to be the min. He's being a diva right now, but hey, the window hasn't even opened yet. Let's see how high we can get this thing to go...

    ReplyDelete
  62. You could have replied "yet another attempt at sarcasm."

Douglas Costa will not sign. Get over yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Nah he was happy to leave there, so he's partially forgiven.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I tend to agree, however, i don't think we gave Balo a decent shot, he should play off a striker not as a lone striker... I'm just so disappointed with who we are linked to I would think we could get a tune out of Mario and falcao

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't even think he'd consider coming here. He doesn't like England and we can't offer him Champions League. The only incentive we can offer is money and there are likely those who could offer him more than us if that was his sole criterion.

    ReplyDelete
  66. De Sciglio had a poor season. I understand Carvalho has a bad start at least (I can't say I watch the Portuguese league).

    ReplyDelete
  67. My friend. Sahko looks likes the ball is a hand grenade or somehing. He is so uncomfortable on the ball that I'm amazed he got anywhere our club. One of the worst centre backs i have seen. Lovren, absolutely no confidence whatsoever. If you want your players to play it out from the back, then at least pick players who are comfortable on the ball. The only centre back that I know who could do that was Danny Agger. We snever played him and then sold him. Lovren and Sahko are terrified of the ball going anywhere near them.
I respect your faith and loyalty but, wait and see my friend. Both of these clowns (£38mil ?? )are way way below the required level.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Here's something insightful:

If you asked Logan to pick any number between 1 and 10, his answer would most likely be "square pegs round holes. Case Closed. Run along.".

The only stance he's taken is that Rodgers will get fired, and he's still persisting it will still happen in spite of multiple reports confirming that Rodgers won't be fired and that we've already signed two players who fit Rodgers preferred style.

Even when you try to ask for his simple opinion on a player, he won't give an answer. He'll just say "what's the point, he's not coming here under Rodgers"'.

Which is not answering the question.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Funny thing was, I actually wanted to know his take. Never mind.

You missed two other standard answers:

'We won't get anywhere with this lot in charge'

    And his attempt at sarcasm:

    'BR is a Genius'
'Falcao would be thrilled to line up next to Ings'

    Or something similar.

Time after time, after time, after time, after time.

Never seems to get bored saying the same things.

    Run Forrest.....

  70. Sakho is the best CB we have at the moment and a class above Lovren on a bad day.

  71. He's on holiday actually...

  72. According to the media is another story mate and I know you that anyway it says it all in first line of your comment 'If recent reports are to be believed' it clearly states if it is to be believed and not that you do believe! Firmino is a tallented player Alex I am in total agreement with you mate £13m for a player like him is a no-brainer if it's true as what a bargain that would be... Sometimes you can voice an opinion and people jump on it like it is you saying it! Read the comment properly and it is clear as day what you mean mate.. If it turns out to be true and the Mancs have paid £13m for a player as talented as Firmino then more fool us as he is a talent. Lets hope it is just paper talk mate but knowing Rodgers he would sign some crap for £13m instead buddy

    ReplyDelete
  73. Pipe dreams . . FSG want free transfers, cheap players or young players with a potential sell on value. Tevez, Falcao, Martinez, Kane, Bale etc not a chance of joining LFC while FSG own the club. With City, United and Chelsea all spending mega money, Arsenal with stability and money if required, it looks like Liverpool will forever be fighting for 5th place.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Really? You're baffled? You still expect us to sign players like that?

    ReplyDelete
  75. What is there on offer for him at Liverpool besides dollars? A great manager? A great team to play in?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Tevez? Not good enough. If we put our minds to it, surely we can find a younger striker who's a bit worse to suit the needs of the club he's loaned out to next season.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Imagine what Rodgers' response would be.

"I can categorically state that Tevez is a footballer, and certainly we are looking at the possibility of bringing in one or two of those over the next months. Uh, he's been a terrific player, but so is young Danny, and young Danny, and as a club we'll do our best to improve the group. Probably we won't do too much in terms of incoming players, but whenever something's possible, we've got a great team that tries to make it happen. Frankly I don't know where Divock I'm going with this."

    ReplyDelete
  78. Brendan and Ian Ayre are waiting to negotiate a cut price deal with the donut factory!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Carlos tevez would be a decent signing but. I think Claudio marchisio is the perfect replacement for Steve Gerrard. How do you rate marchisio Jamie

    ReplyDelete
  80. Thats not sarcasm.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yesterday (I think) Jaimie wrote about Marchisio as a midfielder he'd like LFC to sign.

    ReplyDelete
  82. He is asking if Douglas Costa would be a better player to go for than a 31 year Tevez or 29 year old Falcoa.

I think Tevez if the price isn't over the top would be a great signing. We have young strikers so to have a out and out goal scorer like Tevez who can keep the goals flowing while the others are improving would be ideal. D Costa doesn't fit the bill for me.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Mike Marsh hasn't been sacked they just haven't renewed his contract so i guess it will be when his contract runs out that it will be made official.

They will then probably do a double announcement at that time which will include Pascoe.

    ReplyDelete
  84. So true!!! These pipe dreams you speak of are probably just to sell papers, or to get visitors to a site

    ReplyDelete
  85. Wow, somebody else who looks at the premier league objectively, you are a rare breed. Wage bill does generally correlate to league finishes, you get clubs over achieving or under achieving for a season but over 2-3 season clubs fall back into line with money spent on wages. Transfer fees are different as one off fees can distort the picture significantly.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Exactly!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would expect it to be Sturridge, Ings, Origi and a new signing. Others i think will be gone come start of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yep that Lallana was young (26), Cheap (25 million) and will have a big sell on value at the end of his contract when he is past 30.

    ReplyDelete
  89. £3.6m is about £70k per week...we should offer him £120-150k per week

    ReplyDelete
  90. We're not going to bring any top players in so j wouldn't build your hopes up of us bringing in someone who's been a regular for a club last season scoring and assisting goals for fun. We can already see where we're going in the transfer market bringing in 8 goal Origi from the weaker French league so unless he improves massively overnight won't be a great signing , a relegated burnley England under 21 and a man city back up England international which now means we have half the England team . Problem is England aren't that good and I can't remember the last England player we've bought in that's turned into a super star. We need a couple of super stars if we're to finish a top 4 spot but we all know or should know that this won't happen

    ReplyDelete
  91. As a player yes I would want him, but you have to draw the line somewhere and we have had enough of mercenaries in the last couple of seasons. I vote no

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  94. I agree we spent an awful lot of money but we buy in the bargin basement most of the time so the 8m, 10m here and there on unproven players adds up. City, Chelsea that came into money bought the best available and won the league etc.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Incorrect...the deal included a guaranteed purchase at the end of the year loan. Should recoup about 3-4 MIL

  96. Who said he will see out his contract? Not that a contract actually means anything anymore. In 2 years he will be in his prime and still be British, if he performed he could easily be worth £30 million+. Of course if he doesn't perform then his sell on value may decrease but not every player will be able to turn a profit.

  97. Playing time. Being a main focal point of the team. Living out of the hustle and bustle of a major city such as London.

I'm not stating that Liverpool is perfect by any stretch. But Coutinho seems to enjoy what he currently has as opposed to worrying if the grass is greener. He has significantly more experience than most players his age simply because he went to Italy so young.

  99. Now is the new story he's going to Sevilla. Never undestand that we wanted to pay 15 mil of eur or even pound but we are not interested for free and don't have to negotiate with Dnyipro owner.

  100. Once we bought El Nino from Atletico Madrid. Now they attract better players with classy manager.

  101. I would have to agree with you mate on the players out, Leno is a great goalkeeper already and is only going to get better with age, my own preferences in an ideal world my XI would be something like this GK Leno, RB Montoya, LB Willems, CB Van Dijk, CB Sakho DM Kramer CM Henderson CM Kovacic AML Coutinho AMR Yarmolenko ST Sturridge.. Obviously it's just thoughts and I could dream of even better but in all reality the money Rodgers has wasted we could have easily had a team probably even better on paper than this.

  102. Sorry mate. I respect your right to your opinion. But for me.....Iwould'nt have Balotelli anywhere near Anfield. Same for Falcao. In my opinion we need busier, less ponderous and predictable players than those two.Finding them is a different matter I know. And even if we did, we would then have to persuade them to come here. Something I believe would be beyond the Bodger.

  103. Fair points... Believe me Mario is no where near a fav of mine. Yet I don't hate him and I don't think he's as lazy as everyone says. I would rather keep him then loan him to some Italian club whist pay his full wages and then give him away for free like we always do

  104. We paid well over the odds for Lallana my friend. That was an awful lot of money for basically one half decent season at Southampton. I don't actually think he would fetch more than £15m right now.

  105. Do you then think that he is better than Skirtel ? Personally I don't rate Sahko or Lovren. I would get rid of the both of them. God knows how much of a loss we'd take on them though ?? Well done again Bodgers.

  106. Good point mate. Think Pepe Reina ,eh ?

  107. Sakho has had injuries but has not done much wrong at all a very good passer hes one i would keep.
Skrtels ok until someone bullies him which is now and again.

  108. He did come out and say he wanted to go to Chelsea.. to me that is the same as saying he does not want to come to LFC

    ReplyDelete
  109. Club transfers aren't exclusive. He can want to go to Chelsea AND LFC... It just so happens that Chelsea have won the EPL, so obviously he's going to use that as the ultimate example. Suarez wanted Barca or Real, but that didn't stop him from coming to us... Ayew wanted us, but that didn't stop him from going to Swans...
