Confirmed: 'Tremendous' title-winner wants to 'play for Liverpool' next season. Done deal 'soon'

Earlier this season, Kolo Toure confirmed that his Agent was in the midst of talks with Liverpool over a new deal at Anfield, and after a couple of veiled warnings about quitting the club, it now appears that the Ivorian is on the verge of signing a contract extension.

In Early May, Toure confirmed that he was 'looking around' at other options, but over the weekend, he told reporters:

"The [contract] situation will be resolved soon. We are talking. I play for Liverpool right now, and I am very happy. If it was to carry on, I’d be more than happy. Liverpool is going to be massive."

What a refreshing comment from Toure. Despite Liverpool's nightmare season, he's seemingly convinced that the future is bright at Anfield, and that kind of enthusiasm is exactly what's needed in the dressing room.

It's also a massive vote of confidence in beleaguered Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who needs all the support he can get right now, especially from senior members of the squad.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge wants Toure to stay. In a recent column for the Liverpool Echo, Aldo hailed the defender as a 'humble man who loves Liverpool', adding:

"Wherever he [Toure] has been, the fans have loved him. Man City fans were singing his name at Anfield the other week. I’ve got the utmost respect for him. He’s a tremendous ambassador for the club".

It's a no-lose situation - double title-winner Toure is a (mostly) reliable backup, and his experience is vital to have around the dressing room. That said, given the competition for places at Anfield, it seems unlikely that he'll suddenly become a regular starter next season.

After another (often) shambolic season for the club's defenders, Rodgers (if he stays) is likely to sign yet another central defender, which will make it even harder for the Ivorian to get regular game time.

If no other defenders come in, though, I'd rather see Toure start over Lovren AND Emre Can in defence next season.

  1. Good news. That also means Ilori will go on loan again or will be sold. Ditto Coates and Wisdom.

  2. How use is his experience if you can't count on it when you need it ? if this season proved something, it's that off field experience is useless if the team is disintegrating on the pitch.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Which means that FSG have every intention if allowed to continue with BR at the helm.
We are in for a long hard slog of a fight to get BR out only way to boycott tickets, shirts & merchandise

    ReplyDelete
  4. Three cheers for the committee hooray

    ReplyDelete
  5. ok this means BR will be here next season.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I just do not see the point in this. When called upon he has not stepped up. Cant imagine he is getting any better.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jaimie, you are back on LFC live!

    ReplyDelete
  8. No t if we starve FSG of much needed revenue

    ReplyDelete
  9. toure sakho lovern wisdom johnson would struggle in league 1...and toure is the worst of them

    ReplyDelete
  10. I was pleased when we signed him on a free. Experience and all that. I guess he's the stalwart now. Bit of a damp squib going from Stevie to Kolo, but hey, better than Ilori...possibly.

    ReplyDelete
  11. this team needs 10 top drawer players

    ReplyDelete
  12. Jaimie your headlines are pure and simply click bait these days :/

    ReplyDelete
  13. "better than Ilori" who hasn't been given a chance to prove himself yet...

    ReplyDelete
  14. There you go, Touré stays, Skrtel stays. Sakho and Lovren are sold for Hummels and we bring in Yaya for 10 million from Citeh. Or Yaya and 30 million for Raheem. That'll work for me.

    ReplyDelete
  15. How so? Skrtel, Hummels, Kolo, Wisdom, Ilori. Great innit?

    ReplyDelete
  16. So Kolo talks about quitting, now it's all resolved, and everyone is happy. More money? Quite possible.
But when Sterling does this, he's a mercenary?
Yes he has more experience, but he isn't exactly going to be playing every game is he.

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Liverpool is going to be massive."

That could also mean Toure is aware of a change being made?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ever the optimist.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Toure most likely will get a one year extension. We are going to be massive next season right, with Rodgers?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Take Hummels out ,He wont come to Liverpool !

    ReplyDelete
  21. We were fantastic in 13/14 and unlucky in 14/15 (Sturridge out all season). Whether Rodgers stays or goes, I have high hopes for 15/16. We may not be massive, but we'll definitely be a force.

    ReplyDelete
  22. No ,not better money , no offers so will stay .

  23. The thing B Rodgers or hopefully a new manager needs to replace the pathetic defensive players on clubs books this summer:
Drastic and Huge squad Overhaul and Rebuild needed:
Defensive players: Need out this summer on left, replace with on right:
B Jones GK Replace with A Begovic Of Stoke for £7-£10M
to compete with S Mignolet for next 5- 7 years
S Coates CB Replace both these centre backs with either T
K Toure CB Alderwield Of A Madrid Or S Kjaer Of Lille for
£8-£12M to compete with M Skrtel for next few
    Years at club
G Johnson RB Replace these two with M Montoya Of Barcelona
A Wisdom RB for £5-£8M to compete with Flannagan and
    Manquillo
J Enrique LB Replace with A Robertson Of Hull for £5-£7M
    to compete with A Moreno
J Clue/Useless Allen CM Replace with Lars Bender Of Bayer
Leverkusen for £15-£22M to compete with
    L Leiva
Those 7 Average and poor defensive players need to be desperately be shipped out this summer and replaced by the 5 class quality players I have mentioned.
1: Begovic is par below Courtois, De Gea and Hart
2:Alderwield is a top class centre back a level below Cahill and Kompany
3: M Montoya is a good fast mobile quick right back a Level below Zabaleta, Clyne and Ivanovic
4: A Robertson is a good fast mobile quick tackling left back who is better defensively than A Moreno and on par with the best left back's in the Premiership
5:L Bender is an athletic mobile young defensive midfielder who protects back four and breaks up play well, a level below Matic and Fernandinho but better than J Allen and L Leiva by a long long way
Those 5 players would help fix our weak spine and our defensive stability at club.

  24. Double standards, how? You've just concocted a story about Toure allegedly wanting more money that's based on nothing.

Sterling has confirmed he rejected £100k-a-week.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Who is Coates? Who is Iloei?

    ReplyDelete
  26. His parents should have known better than to name him Useless Allen. Pretty much sealed his fate, that did.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Who is John Galt?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Who are you? Who am I?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am the walrus.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Better to stay anonymous (!)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hummels? yeah, I'd like the idea along with Otamendi, Lacazzete, Suarez, Messi and Ronaldo.

    ReplyDelete
  32. So basically everyone except Coutinho.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The thing is that out of the 12 dead wood average poor players needed desperately off the clubs books THIS SUMMER:
B Rodgers and the abyzmal, comical and diabolical transfer committee brought 7 of them to club over last three years:
Toure CB Allen CM Alberto AM Aspas FD
Borini FD Lambert FD Balotelli FD
The other 5 players desperately that need to be shipped out of this door this summer I always mention:
    B Jones GK Abyzmal
    G Johnson RB Woeful
    A Wisdom RB Comical
J Enrique LB Shockingly poor now
    S Coates CB Diabolical

    ReplyDelete
  34. Don't think we'll be getting Suarez back, mate.

    ReplyDelete
  35. But we're gonna sign Ronaldo and Messi for sure right?

    ReplyDelete
  36. the English pronunciation of Titto?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've seen them sign for kids so we definitely stand a good chance.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Even though this would shuffle the squad, I would rather consider signing Christopher Samba than re-signing K. Toure. Samba is apparently running his contract out this summer at Dinamo Moscow. Despite is was already a couple of years ago and years are starting to get to him (he's 31 currently), I can remember him being an absolute monster at Blackburn like four years ago. I think he could still be more up to the job than Toure is. Although it is doubtful that BR and LFC transfer committee would consider him, what do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  39. good news indeed! an experienced old man (in terms of football), just the news i had been hoping for. if the news agencies are to be believed, brendan is staying too...excellent. at leat when i am placing my bets for next season, i know that a mid table finish and trophy-less season, add in a few more desperate results, will be the outcome next season. i like to know exactly where i stand with matters such as these. yet why complain? i will still go home, away and into europe as i have always done. still sh*te though!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I clearly don't get the notion, what experience? Toure has been atrocious all season. If i'm a striker playing against Liverpool I'd pay Brendan to get him on the pitch

    ReplyDelete
  41. transfer committee= wheel tappers and shunters club (for those old enough to remember!)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'll be surprised if any of those players ever play for Liverpool again

    ReplyDelete
  46. Nope, can't find the word 'Rodgers' in it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Not sure of others deserving such names but at least Johnson thicks it for me

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ronaldo? Have you seen him lately? Weighs 20 stone.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Still better than Lambert, sadly.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This is the type of post that makes Liverpool Kop a worthwhile visit, all the negativity that has deluged the site over last couple of days is unhealthy.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Atrocious all season? Nonsense. Please provide examples of that before trashing a player with an unfounded one-liner.

Toure had a nightmare in the 4-1 defeat to Arsenal, but apart from that, when else did he play badly?

Liverpool are unbeaten in 12 of the 15 games Toure started this season, so how is that 'atrocious'?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Poor Rickie. Signs for his big love finally, could have made an impact, ends up with a manager who can't manage..

    ReplyDelete
  65. We'd have to sell Sterling to get one of those.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I did ,and Im sure Hummels CANNOT fail to that degree .1 goal for a years wage ?

    ReplyDelete
  67. That's just 3 signings.

    ReplyDelete
  68. If we sell Sterling...I will put all the money on Griezmann.

    ReplyDelete
  69. 3 Super signings

    ReplyDelete
  70. France is a sh!t country - Ibrahimovic.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Can't we just sign Wolfsburg's attack (Dost and De Bruyne not the Lord of course)

    ReplyDelete
  72. I like Coates

    ReplyDelete
  73. Better to diversify your portfolio of players by picking it from different clubs. Don't wanna repeat Liverhamption again.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Saints are extremely overrated, the only good thing about them is the manager IMO

    ReplyDelete
  75. I do, too, actually. That goal against QPR was stellar. Still watch that one every now and again.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I counted 4.

    ReplyDelete
  77. The last thing I would associate with Southampton is the word overrated. People said that Liverpool's bad season was due to sale os Suarez and some also used the word transition.
Southampton not only last their best striker...but also best attacker and denfender to Liverpool. Plus Shaw and Chambers to other big clubs. They lost their manager too. And guess what...they didn't moan about transition. IMO they were the second best team in the EPL, Chelsea being the best.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Do seriously players like Tadic and Pele have any chance of playing in top clubs? I don't think so, they have a decent defense sure, but that's pretty much it

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't judge defenders on stats.., it also depends on the opposition he's played against. Toure in my eyes is an accident waiting to happen

    ReplyDelete
  80. Doesn't matter. Even Dyer doesn't have any chance of playing for top club but he is still an important part of Swansea which is another fantastic club. My point is that considering the situation they were in before the start of the season, Southampton did pretty well. Their new players made immediate impact in the premier league despite being much cheaper than Liverpool's new signings. That's why I consider them very well managed club.

    ReplyDelete
  81. How exactly do you expect us to get Vidal!?!? Other seem rather reasonable targets, though.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Good luck this time.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yes, I don't argue with the management, extremely well run. Just they're players I don't individually rate. Maybe as a team they're good but have a sneaky feeling If let' say we sign Fonte or Clyne. they'll end up exactly like Lovren

    ReplyDelete
  84. No one seems to want him nowadays (overshadowed by Pogba). Juventus are looking to offload him so maybe there is a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  85. for 30 M, they surely will sell.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Then it means that there is a problem with Liverpool?

    ReplyDelete
  87. What Would Logan Say?

    ReplyDelete
  88. IMO both our tactics and scouting.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh yes that I agree with.

    ReplyDelete

  95. I'm not worried about Juve selling. I'm not seeing how Vidal would be interested to join us. From Vidal's perspective, he will be playing in UCL final in couple of weeks in a team that has a chance to won a triple in one of the top leagues in the world. Also, he is an integral part of that team and its success.

So, I have hard time to see him settling for a team just barely scraping the Europa League spot for the next season and unfortunately (it aches me to say) a team that has no realistic chance to challenge for EPL title next season.

Furthermore, if Juve is so desperate to sell him, I'm 100% certain that there will be more attractive suitors for Vidal than LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  96. They will but we won't; -)

    ReplyDelete
  97. Sorry his GF just moved in with him

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest, if Juve is really desperate to sell him.

    ReplyDelete
  99. That explains his afternoon absent.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Yes yes..Juventus is better than Liverpool right now and blah blah..
    .
You missed my point that Juventus are looking to offload him. Well that's what papers say. And only club rumored to be interested in him is Arsenal...apart from us. So maybe there is an outside chance. I would also like Liverpool to show some balls and bid for Tevez. He is looking to go to Argentina...maybe we can offer him a good deal.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Sure, PSG will find its way through the transfer list any time any player in up for sale.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Sky rockets in flight...

    ReplyDelete
  103. Well that's easy, just hold his family, friends and any pets hostage until he signs, and a good whack around teh head helps

    ReplyDelete
  104. High expectations from Ayre.

    ReplyDelete
  105. For me it seems unrealistic that you are pitching in for the hope that there would be no other reasonable suitor for either of these players. Sure, if there really aren't any other realistic suitors, we could have a chance. However, both of these players will be playing in UCL final with a good seasons behind their backs. How come there wouldn't be any other interested clubs apart from LFC?

    ReplyDelete
  106. in my book, he will the end up the hostage.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Only Man Utd and Arsenal (of all the big clubs) really need a strong midfielder like Vidal. Other big clubs have really good players in that position. Maybe I am unrealistic. Tbh all of the 4 signings are unrealistic in a way

    ReplyDelete
  108. At least he will be useful to someone.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Agree totally - what would we give for their defence ..... best in prem. along with Chelsea only conceding one goal more ! And a sound manager who is only going to get better !

    ReplyDelete
  110. You are only thinking within the EPL. What about other clubs from Serie A, or clubs from Bundesliga and La Liga? Also big spenders from Russian league or PSG and Monaco might be interested of Vidal's services.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I did include them as well...when I mentioned other big clubs. I think Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG all have good players in that position.

    ReplyDelete
  112. You're unable to provide any evidence to support your assertion that Toure is 'atrocious', so your view has little merit. Anyone can go around saying 'X is rubbish', but without some kind of supporting evidence, it means nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  113. That's 4 dude...what are you smoking?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Real Madrid is set to lose Khedira (he apparently won't sign extension to his contract) and PSG's Motta is getting old. Even though, these teams have able players for Vidal's position, they are also know for stocking excessive amounts of superb talent.

Also I can see Vidal being an improvement for Monaco, Leverkusen, Valencia and possibly even for Atletico Madrid. Even though, not all of these can be considered as big clubs, they may seem so in players' eyes compared to us because they have secured UCL football for the next season.

Are you honestly expecting that none of these aforementioned clubs will not be inquiring about Vidal, if he is made available by Juve?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Where's Wally?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Well, they ain't gonna smoke themselves;-)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Pipe dream!

  119. 2014/2015
    Kolo Toure:
    Dwells won: 53% , Areal dwells won: 52%, Tackles won : 76%

    Dejan Lovren:
Dwells won: 66%, Areal dwells won:79%, Tackles won : 83%

Considering DL was nealry awful acorss the season, KT's description of atrocious seems appropriate and justified.

    ReplyDelete
  120. And we signed their 'best players' spending £50m along the way. That was just about how much Southampton spent this season and finished 2 points behind us.

it is sickening. The other worst part is that they play more attractive football than us too.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Ok dude...lets just forget Vidal.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Would Lovren play at a top club, Lallana, Lambert when looking at this season?

Southampton had a better transfer window than us. All their new signings made an impact and they improved on last seasons league finish.

Now just have a look at LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  123. #nomorehashtags

    ReplyDelete
  124. ;-) #forgetvidalplease

    ReplyDelete
  125. It tells us that Lovren is good in duels but there is more to defending than that. If your positioning is good, you don't even have to engage a player. Lovren has to engage because usually he's too conservatively positioned to start with.

    ReplyDelete
  126. It's not appropriate or justified, and those stats don't prove anything. Overall team averages:

    * Duels won: 51%
    * Aerial duels won: 49%
    * Tackles won: 77%

Toure exceeds the team average on Duels, and meets expectations on tackles.

Gerrard's stats for duels and tackles won are slightly less than Toure's; is he atrocious too?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Aren't these stats primary stats of a defensive player? something Gerrard isn't, at least by nature of the game?
I concede these stats are not conclusive but having averages below Lovren surely doesn't qualify you as a decent defender, that is saying I absolutely love Kolo Toure's professionalism and leadership

    ReplyDelete
  128. Your are correct if you mean the number of tackles or dwels that each have engaged in, however the use of percentage is intended to demonstrate the chance of successful tackles or dwels in each contact, which means an overall better defender.

    ReplyDelete
  129. All those players named should have been shown door this summer, but just seen how K Toure and A Wisdom have signed new deals at club .

Would K Toure Or A Wisdom get anywhere near any of these clubs first teams?

Arsenal , Chelsea, Man City, Man United, Tottenham Or Southampton?

The Answer is NO , So how and why did they get new contracts at club. Shocking!!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Coates is slow friendly giant, not a Premiership Centre back.

New manager should bring back D Agger from Brondby for £4-£5M and T Alderwierld Of A Madrid for £9-£12m

Whilst Coates and Toure should have been shipped out.

Lovren, Sakho and Skrtel are all good defenders but they have no class quality athletic mobile enforcer in front of them week in week out and have regularly get exposed.

Other Flannagan and Manquillo can defend, but every other defender at club is poor

    ReplyDelete
  131. Luis Suarez, 24 goals in 41 matches who took a while to get going and playing with the likes of Messi and Neymar who are all for their own.

Quite simply put, Rodgers will not be able to attract a player with the pure skill and brilliance cough cough Danny Ings.

Rodgers has been complaining the whole season 'loss of 50 goals' and had 3 strikers which he made no use of and instead piled all the pressure on Sterling. Then has the brilliant idea to play Coutinho and Lallana up top vs Stoke and is dealt the worst league defeat in 52 years. The arrogance of the man to finally take responsibility after being arse raped simply just shows that he will never learn from his mistakes. Instead of saying 'if the owners do want me to go then I will go' why not just resign? I cannot even remember Hodgson being this abject and he swung like a cat by the tail every minute of his tenure.

The fact that there are some who are still supportive of Rodgers just shows why this club is where it is at. It is ok to just accept the way the season has gone 'it will be ok'. It is a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  132. You don't have the imagination to grasp how bad things could get, that's the trouble I think.

    ReplyDelete
  133. So things are going to get worse then?

    ReplyDelete
  134. Liverpool's notion of a marquee player after all he is a two times PL champ ....hurrah...

    ReplyDelete
  135. Also, after spending more than 30M pounds on defenders, our defense did not improve in comparison to last season (48 goals this season vs 50 last).

I heard almost all excuses already: We had more clean sheets this season, more games played, defense needs time to gel, etc.
The buck rests with the manager. We spent close to 100M on defense alone and we still did not find an acceptable solution (not to mention a stable solution). We played Can as a defender. How much did Chelsea spend on their defense? Can we go through next year without improving our defense?

    ReplyDelete
  136. Ibe will be playing at RB, Lallana as a striker and Coutinho holding the white flag. Next Can will be the goalkeeper.

If Rodgers had to stay not one player will know where they will be playing next season. Formations will change every 5 matches and Rodgers will still be saying the team is 'outstanding' and 'showed character' irrespective of how they perform.

Brendan Rodgers is just going to make this ship sink even further if he for some miraculous reason escapes the sack.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Lovern has the best stats in the PL .
    Stats prove nothing !

    ReplyDelete
  138. Yes, clearly what was I thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I am really scared Rodgers has ruined Can by constantly flogging him at RB. He looked so devoid of confidence against Stoke.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Now that Toure and Wisdom have signed new deals ,maybe Can will move into the midfield

    ReplyDelete
  141. The fact that a manager can praise a team when they have been utterly shite explains why the players do not show up. The manager is there to make the team perform and quite honestly the last match was proof that they had no interest.

    ReplyDelete
  142. There was no reason to play Can as a RB. He is not one and never will be. He barely has any pace and is still learning the game. Rodgers playing him there is tactical suicide as shown by the results. It just cannot be explained when we had options on the bench. The problem now is that he does not look half the player he was early on and there is no more confidence in his play.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I think those are signs that there will not be another £120m made available for next season, well not for Rodgers.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I must agree , looks like money will be tight with most being free tranfers

    ReplyDelete
  145. How dare u insult DL don't you know he was rated the best defender in England

    ReplyDelete
  146. FSG did not spend any money in January either. Not because they did not want to, because they knew more 'transition' players would have been signed.

Not a single word is being uttered by FSG. The media claim his job is safe. FSG's silence is deafening.

Not one of the members of FSG have come out and put the word out that Rodgers is going to be at Anfield next season. Not one. The media are there to sell stories.

  152. FSG recently renewed Rodgers contract. They have to do this in the most subtle way. Let Rodgers sit in the naughty corner for a while and when he is called out and asked to answer questions with his hand over his mouth then he will have no room for excuses.

"The players we have had have given everything but we are fifth and that's probably where we are at at the moment."

    Try explaining that one Brendan.

    Ground hog day!!

  154. You can see Can working his ass off at RB, but he is not really good at it (Thought its not his fault). Hopefully he is either converted into a CB or a midfielder.

  155. Couldnt agree more.

  156. That was truly awful to watch, and it's been going on for a while now.

  157. Last season was ruined by Kolo imo he was brought in to cover up the mistakes that Wisdom would have likely made, he was absolutely clueless at times and cost us a fair few goals and scored some own goals.

Cost us a hell of a lot more than Gerrards slip put it that way

  158. Maybe you should get Rodgers out tattooed on your behind.

    ReplyDelete
  159. As much as I have respect for Toure this is the WRONG outcome for LFC. We're going to pay the wages for someone who rarely features on the subs bench and is unlikely to see much game time.

In effect he has taken up a space for no reason. This more than anything suggest BR is going to stay.

Sheer lunacy... and welcome to the wilderness.

As GoT says, "Winter is coming and it may last a few years..."

  160. It was also said that he wouldnt sign for any money, leading one to believe that he is also un-mercenarious (not a word, I know)

    ReplyDelete
  161. actually statistically the best defender ,damn right you should be ;)

    ReplyDelete
  162. Lovren was dire a portable stop sign would have created more headaches for defences.

    ReplyDelete
  163. But we didn't know that before he signed (well we did...but Rodgers didn't...and neither did "the committee"). If we're willing to pay the fee, I don't see why Hummels would not come to Liverpool. He's ready for a change of scenery right about now and his price will have dropped some (as well as the interest in him) after the season Dortmund have had.

  164. Stop sitting on the fence mate. Say what you mean.

  165. Bring back Agger for what? His tattoos?

    ReplyDelete
  166. No one else wanted him, then.

    ReplyDelete
  167. When all said and done, Suarez didn't go for free. We had £65M to 'replace the goals' with. A couple of '20 a season' strikers for that money shouldn't have been that difficult to find.
Stevie Wonder could have told you Lambert and Balotelli wouldn't fit.
Losing Suarez and Sturridge's gammy legs are a cop-out for not buying the right players.
Next season's excuse has already been lined up - 'we lost Gerrard'...
....who's been a liability for the last two or three seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  168. If he was getting the push, it would have happened yesterday, so he's staying for another season... at least.
He's basically daring FSG to sack him, now. The numpties gave him a 5 year extension back in September, so he's quids in when they finally see sense and he knows it.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Because he is better than Johnson, Coates, Toure, Wisdom, Enrique and Flannagan.
And because he still has two to three years of top class football to play at high level.
And if B Rodgers is removed , he would come back to club.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Well wisdom just signed an extension

    ReplyDelete
  171. Coates is great, he's couple of last games were amazing in Sunderland.. He's ready for LFC..

    ReplyDelete
  172. Agree totally

    ReplyDelete
  173. He did. I almost added 'except maybe Wisdom' to the end of that post when I wrote it then, well didn't. Don't see room for him and Ilori in the squad though. Another loan spell for both wouldn't surprise me

    ReplyDelete
  174. Have you been watching him play in the tough Danish league?

    ReplyDelete
  175. No why would I, I have seen more class and quality from D Agger when he was at our club whether he was injury prone or not than K Toure, S Coates, A Wisdom, J Allen, L Alberto, F Borini, R Lambert or L Markovic will ever show us fans no matter how many games they play.
    Agger is world class simple
