Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer move for Monaco midfield powerhouse Geoffrey Kondogbia, who is also being pursued by Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail:
"Liverpool are also continuing to check on Geoffrey Kondogbia but their lack of Champions League football could prove crucial"
Some info about Kondogbia:
* 22-year old defensive-mid.
* 58 appearances for various France youth teams.
* 2 apps for the France national team.
* 59 apps for Monaco (3 goals/3 assists)
* 2013: Helped France win the U20 World Cup.
* Two injuries in the last year: (Ankle/Hamstring)
* Current contract expires in 2018.
* Arsene Wenger's assessment: "Kondogbia is a very interesting player because he's a left footed midfielder and he's one of the promising stars, just behind Pogba, in the French national team."
Ex-Red Jamie Redknapp is a huge fan of Kondogbia, and after watching Monaco beat Arsenal in the Champions League last month, he hailed the French midfielder as 'incredible', and further enthused:
“Kondogbia [cost: £20m] was organised, disciplined and let his other team-mates play. He was the difference. I look at the Arsenal side, and that is where they’ve been going wrong. That is exactly the type of player that Arsenal need to sign.”
Forget Arsenal - Kondogbia is exactly the type of player Liverpool need to sign, and with Gerrard leaving; Lucas increasingly injury prone; Joe Allen still struggling to really dominate in midfield, and Emre Can failing to convince (in midfield) a different option is clearly required.
Kondogbia seemingly wants to stay at Monaco, though, and when asked today about speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, he told reporters:
"I repeat again that the project here [at Monaco] is what suits me more. I became an important player here and I hope to participate again next year in a competition like the Champions League"
Today's damaging draw with West Brom has hammered another nail into the coffin of Liverpool's Champions League coffin, and if Kondogbia does decide to leave this summer, Arsenal - who are almost certain to finish in the top-four this season - clearly have the edge in the race for the midfielder's signature.

I'll agree with you then Sir, he is more experienced than BR, that's irrefutable.
ReplyDeleteSomeone on here - I can't remember who, said a few times that we could make the mistake of seeing BR learn his trade with us and then go on to successfully ply said trade elsewhere, it's my wish that we retain him and benefit from his learning's. Credit to whomever that was.
To be clear it is not a one hit wonder I am hoping for, after the wait, I would like Liverpool to regain total domination for years to come and I think BR is in it for the long haul.
I think the only way we could dominate within the next 3yrs is that we all go to church and light a candle. Lets just hope that he has learnt his mistakes ? and not be pigheaded in the future.
ReplyDeleteNot sure on that one, we could go round in circles - plan 'A' first half of season, massive fail, second half of season, plan 'B' worked pretty well.
ReplyDeleteAdd Sanchez to first half of season, plan 'A' big success, we win the league.
Ultimately, you are arguing form a point of fact though, we haven't performed as we wanted this season, - I feel that we've done enough to merit another year with BR at the helm, you don't - I won't berate you if Klopp or another comes in next season and we storm the league though, beers on me :-)
I don't believe in religion you should know that ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe he was pig-headedly showing FSG the error of their ways in the transfer market.
If I'm a brick layer and my boss gives me a trout instead of a trowel, my walls aren't going to be the best, but I'll keep using that trout to make sure I get a trowel next year.
Yes we have done reasonably well ? but like I've said before lets hope he learns to play players in there true positions that they where bought for, And if the beer is on you I will pick you up from Adelaide Airport
ReplyDeleteLOL,I don't believe either it is just something my mum you to always say
ReplyDeleteListen we haven't got where we are today by playing round players in circular holes.
ReplyDeleteStrangely I am in the middle of trying to organise a holiday, definitely somewhere outside of Europe and possibly to Australia - maybe GBR area so if you have any (helpful) suggestions I'm all ears, I know some of the lines from Crocodile Dundee.
He's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy!
ReplyDeleteNice, Yes Aust is a great place, The GBR is very nice place and all around the Cairns area but I recon you would be disappointed in the pubs (there crap) that's what all the poms here miss about the UK, And we don't drink Fosters here it's crap we just export it, I think its past your bedtime ?
ReplyDeleteHe is just send him to his room till he learns
ReplyDeleteFair play fellow Red, fosters is pretty poor wherever it's drank, adverts semi-jolly though.
ReplyDeleteI've looked at Cairns as well as Port Douglas and both look great for trips out to the reef, I'm finding it difficult to get my head around the sheer scale of Australia vs the UK and also difficult to find a location that will keep everyone in our group happy, much like football I guess - you can't please all of the people...
You're right on the bedtime front. Goodnight y'all.
Is BR trying to emulate A Villas Boas' record at Spuds??!!
ReplyDeleteOkay lets get this straight -
ReplyDelete..he's french..
..he wants to play in the champions league....
..Arsenal are coached by a french bloke...
..Arsenal are in london...
..Arsenal are in the champions league next year...
Ummm, yes for my phd thesis I will try and prove day is night and Kondogbia is coming to us....
Luis van Gaal does not need nor asks for a 3-year 180-page project; abject tactical naivety and dismal quality in transfer windows are all too obviously reflected in on pitch results
ReplyDeleteLiverpool are going to finish 5th and 7th every year with a soft manager like Brendan Rodgers. FACT. if we give Brendan 10 years. we still wont win a trophy. believe me. £220m spent and only £29M used on proven quality in Sturride, Coutinho and Mingolet, and Sturridge unreliable.
ReplyDeleteSterling was worst player against West Brom, no end product whatsover and so greedy. its so obvious Ibe better than him there and why the club are letting him hold us to ransom i dont know. As soon as Ibe went Left wing, he won a yellow card, and smash the crossbar. Sterling went missing. hes just fast, no end product. not like Suarez, who has end product at Anfield. we need a new manager ASAP. how can we take off Ibe for Lallana and Borini for Balotelli? they made absolutely no difference.
And why after Balotellis good piece of skill is gerrard taking a useless free kick? Balotelli needs to be Free kick taker and penalty taker. if we want him to score, we need to give him oppurtunites, and hes good at making something happen from this. Gerrard is the past. let the future play.
Kondogbia is a world class player and i watched him lift that cup with Pogba in 2013. hes an outstanding talent and CL football or not, we can get him. if we offer him great wages he will join.
this summer i'd like to see
Geoffrey Kondogbia - £20M - £150K a week (smash wage budget for competiton)
Andriy Yarmolenko - £15M - £70k a week
Memphis Depay - £20M - £120K a week (smash wage budget for competition)
Serge Aurier - £10M - 70k a week
Luciano Vietto - £13M - £80k a week
Paulo Dybala - £25M - £80K a week
Alex Kolarov - FREE - £80K a week
------------------------------------Mingolet
Aurier---------------Skrtel-------------------Sakho------------Kolarov
---------------------Hendo------------Kondogbia
------Ibe-----------------------Coutinho--------------Depay
-----------------------------------Dybala
Rodgers just keeps making mistakes without a doubt, he is a young inexperienced manager, should he really be learning his trade while at the helm of LFC? His post match interview today and after most games this season are the same, the players are always outstanding. How can only having five shots on target in a match that finishes 0-0 against a bottom club ever be classed as outstanding? That is the most worrying for me, this small club mentality that says a point away from home is an outstanding result. The problem is what manager would replace him and be prepared to work under the strict transfer policy and the strict wage structure?
ReplyDeleteWe twist and I am 100% sure we can get it right next time. Three years into the job and he's still making the same mistakes. This guy is so arrogant and clueless you only have to see his team selections week in week out to realise how deluded he is.
ReplyDeleteHe had a golden opportunity at the end of last season to replace Suarez and the goalkeeper, Suarez who was mostly providing the goals and Ming's who was letting them in. What did he do.....bought only second class players who some have no right to wear the shirt.
Other club managers were seen at the World Cup looking at who they could bring in to improve their teams......where was the Imposter.....swanning round in the States with his new found girlfriend. Does this not give you some indication of were this guys priorities lie. He appears to have lost the dressing room because the way this team is performing at the moment is not good and it's showing.
If FSG react now to the dour situation we find ourself in, then just maybe we could entice Jurgen Klopp, Ronald Koeman or even bring back Raffa. This will all panout shortly and hopefully for the best. Just lets hope that Imposter is far away from this club once and for all...never to be seen again.
if you want be champions you have to buy champions. Kondogbia is a champion, Depay is a champion. these players are the hungry jewels we need, not Sterling. sell sterling for £20M so be it. i honstly dont like him. we dont win any extra games with him so he can go. when he plays for the team, he good.... when he think hes suarez? pshhh...kmt...Sterling has no end product whatsover and is all about money. hes worst than Torres. hasnt even accomplished anything with LFC but wants a move.
ReplyDeleteas i said i would rather us play Ibe, Kent, Canos, Wilson and players from our academy. i would they lost to Man U, lost Arsenal, lost Villa and drew with West Brom. theres no fight in this team. they dont fight for LFC Sterling is whimp number 1.
after losing against Villa in a Semi-final, suffering embarresment to go with our poor season. is that not enough motivation to beat West Brom 6-0? what kind of motivator do we have as a manager? Brendan Rodgers?
this clown definately not the solution.
I'm not entirely sure I agree with anything in the written paragraphs, but I do think some of the transfer business you suggest could be savvy.
ReplyDeleteSomething has to change ,
ReplyDeleteIt cannot carry on like this for another season..
"Liverpool are going to finish 5th and 7th every year with a soft manager like Brendan Rodgers. FACT"
ReplyDeleteApart from finishing 2nd last year. FACT
I have said before that we should probably concentrate on Depay and Lacazette as our main 2 targets. We need more goals in our team and these two would hopefully go a long way to improve that.
ReplyDeleteIf we could then get a player like Kondogbia, a RB like Janmaat and a free GK like Neto I would be very happy with our business
Did I not say many, many weeks ago that top 4 was over for LFC this season?
ReplyDeleteNo one should have been surprised by this game. The season ended against Man U and they players listless play shows they know it too. We should have won this game easily 2 or 3 zip. Johnson, Balo, Gerrard contributed nothing. Stark reminder of how poor the summer transfers have been absent Can. Good to see IBE; shame he hit the crossbar....friends, just enjoy the rest of the season and look for nuggets to build on for next year. Hope Flanno get a couple of games and we don't see gerrard, Allen Balo, or Lambert. I wouldn't mind Borini getting a shout instead of the use bag of gas known as Balotelli. Give us Ibe, Sterling, Rossiter, Ojo etc and give us a hopeful glimps of what could be next year.
ReplyDeleteMornin, Yes Pt Douglas is a beautiful place small but a very nice place, Yes it is bloody big, To fly from one side to the other side takes around 10hrs giv or take, It would be like you flying to Iraq, Afganistan, But for a night life holiday Cairns and Pt Douglas aint that far away, that's right not all of the time. So any help please ask...
ReplyDeleteWhat if Arsenal decide to go with Khedira.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he available on a free? Probably not even a consideration by Rodgers :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with all that you have said. except for the twist, my jury is still out.
ReplyDeletePlayed like a machine in the WC. Better than Gerrard...
ReplyDeleteApparently that doesn't count.
ReplyDeleteIt was all Suarez, even though he came out and praised BR fid heeling him become a complete player and allowing him and the team play to his greatest strengths.
I think these are all realistic and good impact targets. That would be sold business I wouldn't think much else would be needed or wanted.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your thoughts except for the Sterling part.
ReplyDeleteYes and he loves Liverpool, I think he would do a lot better trying for the league given a second chance.
ReplyDeleteAs did I my friend after the Man U debacle. Did you see my post a couple of days ago? I said LFC should fire BR and disband the transfer committee and replace it with you, Twistadee and Stuart! CL here we come!
ReplyDeleteI predicted us to finish between 5th and 7th at the start of the season hope i get a big tick too.
ReplyDeleteHaha like you say it was all Suarez last year
ReplyDeleteFor extra depth maybe Milner on a free, but we have to be careful of too many new faces again
ReplyDeleteOur bargaining power was strongest last season when we had CL football, I can't see these young talented guys coming to us. Repay will probably end up with Man Utd, Lacazette will end up in a CL club. To be honest our bargaining strategy should be-"We'll give you a chance to play and build your rep, if in two years you're happy we will give you our blessing to move on just like Saurez."
ReplyDeleteCan't see most young bucks taking that sort of sabbatical
Balotelli's name should not even be on the team sheet. Playing him could only be as a shop window for some fool to buy him. Leaving aside where Rodgers plays him, his commitment is poor, he isn't technically good enough, he doesn't try hard enough, he is not a team player and he commits stupid fouls. Write him off
ReplyDeleteWe keep deluding ourselves that we can compete because B R is living in a make believe world and unless we face reality we have no chance
ReplyDeleteSo another season between 5th and 7th next season under BR then should he stay on?
ReplyDelete"I thought they were excellent. We didn't get the win, but our overall game was outstanding,"
Our manager has gone beyond the realms of delusional. If FSG do not get rid then it will also show how inept they are but I am pretty sure they have seen that Rodgers is taking us leading us on a road to nowhere.
Funkdok, gave Suarez your blessing.. pfff yeah, held him against his will and falsely made a liar out of him and his agent more like. Players and agents took notice of that ya know, him getting a bigger move (ill admit that as am a Gooner) in end wont have papered over all that bad business, the agent is still flabbergasted and still wont shut up about it.
ReplyDeletePlayers will definitely have reservations about joining yous, i wouldnt expect all that many rough diamonds anytime soon... especially not the names rolling out along here.
B R never learns
ReplyDeleteCan we trust him with more transfer money ????????????????
ReplyDeleteDespite being rendered toothless in attack by the baggies, BR maintained "Liverpool were EXCELLENT against West Brom". Now tell me which other EPL manager would fritter away 212M in transfer kitty over 3 seasons to bask in a stalemate result??
ReplyDeleteWell the whole German side were outstanding but i doubt he can avoid injury in a more physical league we really dont need any more Sturridges.
ReplyDeleteYou did it again Logan you never answered my statement.
ReplyDeleteWe are a small fish in a large pool, as I have heard before. I'm sorry, but we aren't a big enough club to choose who we sign anymore. The only way I see us signing world class players is if they are die hard Liverpool fans, maybe De Bruyne as an example.
ReplyDeleteBut we are looking more of a laughing stock than anything else this season. Simply said its true. no CL or world class players currently, and having an essentially nobody of a manger isn't the way you attract players.
Oh so it was meant to be a question? I quite honestly do not recall you saying that we will finish between 5th and 7th Irrespective, Rodgers needs to be given his marching orders and you obviously will still disagree on that ;-)
ReplyDeleteHe's just simply not man enough and many people haven't realize that, after WBA game he said we were "outstanding ". What does my head? Players showed no urgency for goal (which he's responsible for ) throughout the game and still gets praised?
ReplyDeleteAnd this is supposed to be Liverpool Football Club Rodgers is is basking about? Making a mockery out of us with his comments while his self importance takes centre stage.
ReplyDeleteHey mate, I will send in my cv :-o
ReplyDeleteBut all jokes aside, he needs to go.
Agree with you mate. If the players think they were outstanding against a relegation threatened side then it's sabotaging our forward progress
ReplyDeleteYeah, doesn't matter that Suarez's had been here for two and a half years before that.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve one and I can tell you they're a devil to get out
ReplyDeleteThe (not very) good, the bad and the ugly
ReplyDeleteConvinced him he could get a better move more like. He could have handed a transfer request in. Could have pressured us more if it was the massive move he wanted.
ReplyDeleteOooh I know, I know. it worries me too that we may have made Luis and his manager look bad........,
ReplyDeleteI agree with nicol there was no movement from him no running the line or trying to go in behind he dropped deep and made it far to easy for west brom .. Unfairly critised behave
ReplyDeleteDepay and Lacazette with our clueless manager and what money?
ReplyDeleteWe spent almost £120m at the start of the season and we still need a midfield general, prolific striker, a better keeper and a commanding CB. This will require another hefty transfer kitty which is not going to come unless we can sell Suarez again and with no CL, Rodgers in charge it is a pipe dream. Those who believe this is achievable under Brendan Rodgers need to really start facing reality.
Notconvinced - too much doubts about him - but I will say this Balotelli is the WORSE BUY EVER - Makes Andy Carroll look a decent buy.
ReplyDeleteIf Rodgers loses his job this season any idea what FSG will have to pay him? Some say 10m but that can't be accurate- can it?
ReplyDeleteNobody knows how much Rodgers will have to be paid out. Who cares anyway?
ReplyDeleteKeeping Rodgers and not qualifying for CL again next season and allowing him to spend more of LFC's money in the transfer market will cost us more than sacking and replacing him.
I completely agree with you mate !!!
ReplyDeleteThere is no point in giving this thug any single penny and any extra minute after this season
Suppose you wouldnt remember but i was an unhappy camper during last seasons window, yes and may BRs reign go on.
ReplyDeleteVery good player! Would love to see him at LFC
ReplyDeleteBR is completely clueless and tactically ultra naive. He needs to be fired and banned from Anfiled in future.Period !
ReplyDeletePS - I am sick of retards like you (BRs love childs may be ) who keep on shamelessly defending this thug when in 3 years he has achieved nothing. Only seen his arrongance , and stupidity - on and off the field
Is there any chance that BR pays you for spreading this stupidity around?
ReplyDeleteKlopp !
ReplyDeleteThis team needs a bit of heart. We've been spoiled in that department over the last ten years with Stevie and Carra but these days are gone and there's a distinct lack of drive in our team this season.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've seen of Kondogbia he looks a good player but I think we have little or no chance of signing him
Queensland is very beautiful along the coast and Sydney and Melbourne are good to visit.
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to come just remember it is very expensive here to holiday.
Jamie, how can you say Sterling "has played to great effect" in this article, when, in countless others, you heavily criticize him for lack of creative output? Which is it?
ReplyDeletebalotelli is the easy scapegoat every game he plays. watch it again, which I subjected myself to doing....lol......and I lost count of the amount of times balotelli shows for the ball on the box, or a bit deeper and hendo/can/coutinho/stevie just dribble the ball forward until either the space if non-existent or they've decided to go to wide.
ReplyDeleteThe best chances we created came from interplay and 1-2s around the box, and guess what? balotelli was in amongst some of those plays.
as a team we suck at breaking teams down. we can only do it on the break. but we cant pass our way through teams like I thought we were going to develop under BR. the team look devoid of ideas and little imagination around the box. surely BR would be setting them up to play a certain way to break down the defence...either that or all the players are just not good enough
who, andy carroll?
ReplyDeleteFinally a fair comment about Balotelli's performance. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteNo it can't be and anyway he's not a mercenary so he'd probably not want much
ReplyDeletewhy is he a thug?
ReplyDeleteDepay is reportedly available at 20 million. Kondogbia and Janmaat are worth around 20 million combined. We could get close to that amount by selling the deadwood/savings on wages. Therefore FSG would need to fund the Lacazette signing for around 25-35 million......seems plausible to me, especially with new TV money.
ReplyDeleteNew Top Gear presenter?
ReplyDeleteuntravelledpaths.com
ReplyDeleteWorth a shot, very much so..
In the words of Pato Banton "Baby come back"
ReplyDeleteDepay and Lacazette will have far better options available to them and with Rodgers in charge at LFC, no CL, pathetic season etc, LFC most definitely will not be no 1 on their list especially when both Depay and Lacazette will have a chance to join clubs who will offer CL and a chance to win trophies etc.
ReplyDeleteDepay and Lacazette to LFC ain't happening, especially should Rodgers still be in charge.
Depay and Lacazette will have far better options available to them and with Rodgers in charge at LFC, no CL, mediocre season etc, LFC most definitely will not be no 1 on their list especially when both Depay and Lacazette will have a chance to join clubs who will offer CL and a chance to win trophies etc.
ReplyDeleteDepay and Lacazette to LFC ain't happening, especially should Rodgers still be in charge.
Clueless. That's Rodgers. He has a massive arrogance based on no achievements at all. For sure Borrini would be his best striking option - not good, but his best - but he can't play Borini because if he did and the Italian scored a few, people would say "Why the hell didn't he give him a chance earlier on?" All Rodgers thinks about is hanging on to his job - utter disgrace.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I just sent the huntsman to the woods.
ReplyDeleteIm beginning to think rogers is purposely trying to lose games ....there can be no other explanation .....Gerrad playing deep in midfield ...balo as a lone striker .....glen useless back in the team ....will some one please sack this guy he is in no shape or form a top level manager .......i remember how smug rogers was when taking taking over from kenny ......well hers the kicker in just over a season kenny won 1 trophy with two finals after 3 years with rogers we are no where near a piece of siverware
ReplyDeleteDunno about you guys but I'm seeing some big progress. Massive strides forward, indeed. Lambert wasn't on the bench for once!
ReplyDeleteDont agree with your complete shopping list but some good points in your post.
ReplyDeleteBeen looking at premier league stats this morning sterling is actually in top5 for a number important categories in his position only behind the likes of hazard n silva in most. Mignolet looks like he's going to win golden gloves which is some turnaround from first half of season.
ReplyDeleteInjured warming up food? He must be even more fragile than I thought. Mind you, the corners on those plastic ready meal containers can be mighty sharp.
ReplyDeleteSo I assume you've been talking to Memphis, Alexandre and Brendan personally eh?!
ReplyDeleteBad idea. BR's irresponsibe, sycophantic overpraise of 'outstanding' luxury brands such as Diahatsu and Chevrolet could go to the manufacturers heads and ultimately cause the death of the automotive industry.
ReplyDeleteNot that it matters anymore but they're 2-0 down
ReplyDeleteThree
ReplyDeleteNice one
ReplyDeleteThere should be a way of emailing him if you look at the top. Also are you posting from the same IP address as usual? Because Jamie saves those so you shouldn't be able to post from that if you are banned.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the current squad and no CL. I think weare going to have three years of transition no matter who is in charge. Given the current squad, do you think we could be challenging for throphies if we do not get 2-3 world class players? Do you trust BR to identify them? Or attract them without CL?
ReplyDeleteStevie G had a wod with Saurez & said, absolutely you deserve to play top football in your peak years. If you go to Arsenal you'll be selling yourself short. Trust me Barca will give you the red carpet treatment.....Something along those lines alt least. We have a history of picking up rough diamonds, Coutinho, Sterling etc. You never know secret spurs fan :)
ReplyDeleteThat guy Khedira IS always injured...please no....
ReplyDeleteAre we expecting Klopp if BR does go?.some of these comments do make me laugh.a lot of short term memories.we did try replacing Suarez.anyone remember Sanchez turning us down.we couldn't attract big name stars with champions league let alone without it.the gulf between us 5th & the top 4 might be 1 league position but its actually a country mile away in reality.we got lucky signing Suarez, + it's not possible for us to replace 1of top 3 players in the world.buying the future is are only realistic option & that's a long haul.
ReplyDeleteThat is why you are nominated to be part of our new transfer committee with Stuart and Twistadee. I too may plead for a spot. How much worse could we do?
ReplyDeleteHere is my list of outs and their grade: 1 being poor and 10 great:
Johnson 3
Allen 4 (aka headless chicken)
Balo 3
Enrique 5
Lambert 4 (aka Tugboat)
Borini 5
Gerrard 4 (this year) Last year a 6.5
Markovic 3
Manquillo 5 (Young but, as yet, not creative)
Thank God Can was a good pick for price, youth and performance.
cfleejb. You are dot spot on.!! Why do people protect BR from being fired by saying "So we will have 2/3 seasons of rebuilding"? LVG is rebuilding but hasnt taken 2/3 years. Its because he is prcatical with his tactics and player selection unlike BR who keeps playing uncle Stevie, letting him take free kicks ahead of Balo, BR hates players to the point of consistently playing them out of position. Balo ..anyone? even after the player scored the winning goal in the last match he doesnt play the next match even as a sub?
ReplyDeleteNo, it nodes not automatically mean 3 years in transition. This current team just needs a manager who is a good tactitician who knows the right kind of players to fill in the RB poisition, Right Wing. CDM and one ot two world class strikers. From defence: Sktrel, mid Hendo, Can, Couts, Ibe, Strikers, DStudge and Balo, we have a good core but BR is clueless about how to utilise these players. Bring in a good manager and we will not be losing sleep over losses to Aston Villa and Hull
ReplyDeleteIn the few times he's played at centre forward he's been good *compared to Balotelli* in the same role. Over an entire season, his creative output is not good enough.
ReplyDeleteHelemaal eens Edwin. Rodgers came out to say the owners will stick to their buy talent strategy and who can blame them when we wasted so much money on established players like Balotelli, Lalana and Lovren last summer. The problem is, Rodgers is as poor a judge of raw talent as he is of established players when you look at Markovic, Luis Alberto, Aspas, Manquillo and Borini. I know hes credited for Coutinho but we were linked to him long before Rodgers came to the club. So his one actievement in that respect is Sturridge and given the current circumstances we can argue whether that was such a god move in the first place. Jury is still out on Moreno and Can. So whatever the plan this summer is, we can only hope Rodgers is not part of it.
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about it Rodgers teams have a tendency to falter at the final hurdle. His Swansea set set the world on fire when they got promoted but dropped off near the end of the season. Last years LFC threw the title away with three games to go. You dont see that happening to Bayern, Barca or Chelsea. And this year we fail to beat Villa, effing VILLA, the one chance we have at silverware. I like Rodgers and I think he has quality but his sides, bottom line, dont get the job done.
ReplyDelete
