In what has to be the most improbable transfer rumour in a while, Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who is currently rotting away on the bench on-loan at Real Madrid.
Liverpool were last linked with Hernandez back in 2012, and according to a report in the Daily Express today, Liverpool are planning €19m (£14m) summer offer for the 26-year old, who is (predictably) struggling for game-time at the Bernabeu.
The Telegraph further adds:
* Hernandez is set to reject a move to the MLS to stay in the Premier League.
* Louis Van Gaal has 'told' the striker that he has no future at Old Trafford.
When asked about his future in March, Hernandez admitted that his confidence has hit 'rock bottom' at Madrid, and revealed his frustration at constantly warming the bench. He told Fox Sports:
"My situation is frustrating. "I cooperate, I help and give my 100 per cent in training but in the games the opportunities are slim. I'm in a team but left out of what is important, which are the games"
Despite his lack of game time, Real Madrid legend Emilio Butragueno recently lavished praise on Herndandez, and highlighted the striker's main qualities. He raved:
"[Hernandez] is an incredible player, and a fighter. Javier trains well and is a great professional, but the competition for places is very tough. He is a great forward, when he has played he has responded".
Over the years, several United players - including Gabriel Henze and Dimitar Berbatov - have been linked with moves to Liverpool, but considering the fact that no player has directly transferred between Liverpool and Manchester United since 1964 [Phil Chisnall from United to Liverpool], I think it's safe to predict that there is practically zero chance of a deal taking place.
Man United affiliation aside, however, Hernandez could be a decent signing £8m-£10m. He knows where the goal is, and despite being woefully underused at Old Trafford, his goals/assists record is very good.
* 59 goals/20 assists in 154 apps.
* Goal/assist every 1.9 games.
Hernandez is clearly a massive upgrade on Balotelli, Lambert, and Borini. He also has an excellent injury history, which is (or should be) a priority selection criterion when considering a new striker.
Worth a bid?

Good player BUT again I must point out B R priority is to SELL SELL SELL So many mediocre players in the squad AND I thought Sterling was ineffective all night
ReplyDeleteHIs priority is to sell? That's news to me...
ReplyDeleteMexico is in Jamaica, right? Just what we need: another overpriced African footballer!
ReplyDeletewell we already have 4 striker (6 with Origi and Aspas on loan) so it makes sense that he'd need to sell before byuing, unless you're okay with having 7 striker and only using 3 ?
ReplyDeleteNo sorry but no.
ReplyDeleteWe need to sell as Ray says
Lambert,Borini,Balotelli,Enrique 100%
markovic and Lovren maybe as well if the offer is right
It would be nice but I can't see this happening.
ReplyDeleteMore likely to go to Arsenal who need another striker and are in the CL
By all means yes.good pace ,skills and not a bad signing.
ReplyDeleteWe need to keep our best players
ReplyDelete......................................Lacazette
Depay..........................................................Sterling
..........................................Coutinho
..............................Pjanic.................Henderson
Moreno....................Sakho...........Can...........Jaanmat
............................................Mignolet
bench: Sturridge, Ibe,Lallana,Kondogbia, Flanagan,,Skrtel, Ward
Laczette 38m
Depay 30m
Kondogbia 20m
Jaanmat 10m
Pjanic 30m
total: 128m
sell Balotelli,Lucas,Lambert,Lovren,Markovic,Borini,ENrique
for 45m
so net spend 83m which is reasonable with the new pl money
Yes, but I'm pretty sure that's not what RAY meant. He was implying BR is selling all our good players.
ReplyDeleteNo ball control
ReplyDeleteno link up play
No dribbling ability
this guy is just another Jermain Defoe and that is why he is always on the bench
Sell Allen as well 6m so 51m
ReplyDeleteso a smaller net spend
I like the starting lineup, but it lacks a DM. I'd bring in someone like Casemiro, especially if you're gonna sell Lucas. Pjanic is overpriced and not what we need.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you have 3CMs. Hardly enough...
I do not want a Man united player ever to play for LFC
ReplyDeletei do not care if it is Rooney
the only way i will accept is if he pars them off badly like Paul pogba
Kondogbia is a cdm
ReplyDeleteI think that is fair
ReplyDeleteCoutinho is our Oscar
Kondogbia our Matic
Can our Mikel
Henderson our Ramieres
but we need a fabregas
and that is Pjanic
so if we use chelsea as a model this is what we need
Oh yeah sell Lallana
ReplyDeleteso
Borini 5m
Balotelli 10m
Lovren 8m
Markovic 10m
Lucas 8m
LAMBERT 5M
Allen 8m
Lallana 15m
Enrique 3m
Aspas 2m
Alberto 3m
Iloris 5m
Coates 3m
we dont need depth so that is a total of 85m
so the net spend is 43 m which is very reasonable
Also Johnson and Gerrard leaving... they're end of contract, but they free up wages.
ReplyDeleteBorini 5m
ReplyDeleteBalotelli 10m
Lovren 8m
Markovic 10m
Lucas 8m
LAMBERT 5M
Allen 8m
Lallana 15m
Enrique 3m
Aspas 2m
Alberto 3m
Iloris 5m
Coates 3m total 85m
sell all of them and buy 4 world class players with 130m
promote Brad Smith ,Mccauglin and Trexeira
please no
ReplyDeleteYes, but they play Oscar, Fab, and Matic together. That would be a mid of Coutinho, Kondogbia, and Pjanic in the mid, not Coutinho Henderson and Pjanic. Kondogbia needs to start for that to work.
ReplyDeleteThat aside though, my main concern with your lineup is the lack of depth. Aside from the bench, there is noone. If there is an injury, we are done for.
we can make a lot of money this summer
ReplyDeletewe need to cut our losses on
Lallana 15m ( west ham or tottenham would have him) ,10m loss
Lovren 10m ,10m loss ( but eh is worst defender we have ever had)
Markovic 10m ( this would be generous as well seeing he is a winger who cant take on players) 10m loss
Allen 8 m , take a 7m hit because he will never be anything more then a squad player ,
Trexiera ,Ibe,Jones and Rossiter can easily take their places
this way we can focus on big buys
we have lots of depth
ReplyDeleteOrigi and Trexeira
will be there
while in defense Mcclauglin will get his chance
Plus Manquillo is there
3 cbs is enough considering can can play there
Skrtel,Sakho and Jones
What a waste this summer window was
ReplyDeleteLovren 20m
Lallana 25m
Markovic 20m
that is 65m
when we could have kept Agger
and promoted Suso or Trexiera and Ibe
We can look forward to Ings too. These are the only players we can attarct at this point.
ReplyDeleteChelsea have Mourinho, Arsenal have Wenger and next season City will have Ancelotti.
Can we have Jurgen Klopp please?
Ok Jaimie, I ask,no, I demand a thread about sacking BR for Logan and chosen few, and a thread about being Liverpool for ngctc!!!
ReplyDeleteBy world class players without CL football and Rodgers?
ReplyDeleteIt simply is not going to happen. We spent alsmost £120m thsi season with CL on offer and iit did not happen either.
Jaimie has already made his view clear that he cannot see Rodgers lasting after this season. No need for an article. It will come when it happens ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo why don't you please wait for it?!?
ReplyDeleteWait for what?
ReplyDeleteDoes not matter who it is
ReplyDeleteif we offer them 250-350k a week they will join
Football is a job for footballers and no one will turn down more money, it is how Chelsea,Monocco and City established themselves .
Anzi Machalanka signed Eto'o when he was one of the best strikers in the world because he signed for 350+k a week
And we canm pay them wages
by cutting 12 first team players
and going for quality over quantity
It to happen, for fcuk sake! You realize you are repeating same 5 sentences each day?!?
ReplyDeleteSo did Sanchez turn us down because of money or location?
ReplyDeleteYou cannot have it both ways.
Rodgers sacking!
ReplyDeleteEric thinks you say it because you want people to agree with you and validate your view .
Same as you having the same opinion everyday?
ReplyDeleteSanchez turned us down because we offered only 10k a week more
ReplyDeleteif you are to sign these players over bigger PREMIER LEAGUE clubs
which Arsenal ,Man united,Chelsea and Man city are
you need to trump that bid by 100k at least
Sanchez would not reject 250k
Arsenal are bigger then us in the pl era
how can you blame Rodgers for that
the only way to beat them to players is completly outspend them like man city did
No, mate- different topics different things to say.. Every day we have here a new thread or two and you post sack Rodgers at least 15 times per topic. Square pegs, wrong signings, no attraction... We know, let it be, for a few days at least..
ReplyDeleteYou are avoiding the question ; )
ReplyDeleteAbsolute rubbish.
ReplyDeleteRodgers said he turned us down because of London.
You are talking shite as usual.
Hahahaha, you got a check mate below, and from whom...
ReplyDeleteRodgers would say that would he not.
ReplyDeletewhat can he say?
"Sanchez rejected us because Liverpool is not as big as Arsenal"
imagine how the fanbase would react
Agree with me when they have not?
ReplyDeleteIt is like when most were arguing with me that FSG would make money available in January and THEY DID NOT.
HAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteGo check my reply...
Avoiding what?
ReplyDeleteA broken clock is right twice a day
ReplyDeleteCheckmate.
ReplyDeleteGood one but still.. Check mate!
ReplyDeleteIt is what you always say when you lose a debate
ReplyDeletewhen you lost to Emmanuel and occasionally me
And you are not going to change your opinion either.
ReplyDeletePot calling the kettle black.
Africa is in Jamaica.
ReplyDeleteSo is the pot and the kettle
ReplyDeletebut I won't POST IT 20 TIMES PER THREAD?!? I give up...
ReplyDeleteSo stop replying then.
ReplyDeleteCan you save this fight for pay per view ?
ReplyDeleteyou guys would make lot of money
can i be your manager
sorry..
ReplyDeleteThat is getting old now
ReplyDeleteBut then you are contradicting yourself BECAUSE you say it is about money.
ReplyDeleteIf we offered him more would he chose LFC over London?
Exactly my point. Why are you saying sorry?
ReplyDeleteDo you need my approval?
Look if you want to sign a player over a bigger club
ReplyDeletethen offer three times more money
how hard is it to understand?
Sanchez chose London and you are still arguing.
ReplyDeleteHow much is Sanchez earning at Arsenal?
I am on your side
ReplyDeletecan i be your manager ?
i want to see you kO Orme : )
on pay per view
I live in London there is nothing good over here .
ReplyDeleteJust lots of annoying accents and hoodlums
Then Sanchez should have joined LFC.
ReplyDeleteI could say the same about your presence, but I won't because you're too damned lovable.
ReplyDeleteThat's not a very sustainable business model.
ReplyDeleteCan't play up front by himself and I don't think he'd compliment Sturridge.
ReplyDeleteA good deal is there for someone, but for us, I don't think.
You do know that our bench consisted of most of these guys in a recent game. If we sell everybody, we will have no squad. And, I am not even going to begin to go into the valuations of the players.
ReplyDeleteNot if the hands have been pulled off
ReplyDeleteSolution: sell the bench.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many times I have to say i wish people would stop repeating themselvesy
ReplyDeleteThen again Sanchez would meant we finish atleast 2nd
ReplyDeleteand that is worth 80m itself with cl money and extra pl revenue
so their is no real right model
Surely, you must count yourself as a ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak and hostile environment...?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a not so vague threat.
ReplyDeleteMexico is landlocked in Jamaica, which disqualifies it from the AFCON. But all their players celebrate it as a holiday anyway.
ReplyDelete3Cbs is not enough. Sakho potentially injured, Skrtel and Can suspended. We currently have 5, and we're forced to use our 2 last choices in Lovren and Toure. Plus we've used Johnson there too.
ReplyDeleteOi speak for yourself Cletus
ReplyDeleteActually not bad for 8 Millions, Could be another Stu
ReplyDeleteThe pills arw wearing off
ReplyDeleteI am Liverpool, and you?
ReplyDelete....pid purchase?
ReplyDeleteSturridge Oops, Checkmate!
ReplyDeleteActually I want Kondogbia and Abdenour from Monaco,
ReplyDeleteDepay also would be a decent purchase.
Like I said, you ARE Liverpool.
ReplyDeleteAlso, please do not let ManU sign Felipe Anderson, the guy is too good to be our eternal enemy.
ReplyDeleteI like Hernandez but he is a penalty box striker. At Liverpool he will be required to do much more than stick the ball in the back of the net. He will have to have better movement and hold up play which I don;t think he is very good at. I actually think for the money being touted Danny Ings will be a good buy. He can hold up play and has got decent movement.
ReplyDeleteI actually really rate Hernandez.... I don't get why Utd wasted him....
ReplyDeleteThey wanted to accommodation Falcoa, they got it terribly wrong.
ReplyDelete*accommodate
ReplyDeleteWe don't need depth... What exactly do you think is the root of all our problems.... We don't have enough quality depth...Every team needs depth just to get through a season.... or who do we play when the first team players get injured.
ReplyDeleteNo, because we aren't in London... I'm fairly sure LFC offered the better wage...
ReplyDeleteThere is only one true RAY of sunshine
ReplyDeleteouch
ReplyDeleteYou can't possibly know that....
ReplyDeleteAsquare peg..
ReplyDeletedo you always need the last word logan?
ReplyDeleteBad pickup lines #99 "Can I be the square peg to your circle hole?"
ReplyDeleteLoving it! Believe it or not I was one for the woman of my life..
ReplyDeletethen you are Logan.
ReplyDeleteWait you're English?
ReplyDeleteThat team would reach pretty high on career mode.
ReplyDeleteFabregas scores goals Pjanic doesn't
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about this transfer for a while but having conflicted feelings about having ex Utd players in our team. I think he takes up good positions in the area and seems to know where the ball is going to be. Whether Utd would sell him to us though....I don't know.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need depth? Last summer was about gaining depth. Why destroy the idea! Of course we need depth. 6 injuries/suspensions and all of a sudden we are threadbare. You need depth. Now we have depth we add quality in 2/3 numbers and lose 2/3, maintain depth-improve squad.
ReplyDeleteTerrible business model. Offer 4 players 300k and they other 20 will want no less than 150k to be a sub/ rotation player.
ReplyDeleteThat is not how to sustainably run a club. Your thinking would put us beyond the breach worse than H+G. Arsenal consistently challenge (and underachieve recently) with decent wage structure and great business modelling.
We don't have the trillions of an oil baron, FSG want to run a sustainable but successful club. That is why they will always have the backing of 95% of the fans. That is why we will come good.
Depends where in London you are. I should think not Kensington.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't but only because we don't need his style, he is a classic fox-in-the-box (my favourite football phrase). We need people who press, move wide, hit the box, hang back. Basically variation is what makes our squad work. I think Origi will be good foil (another neat phrase) for Studge. If he can stay fit! I like Vietto. I know it's been said a lot but he would work up top.
ReplyDeleteIf you offer an extra £100k per week...that's £5m additional per year...and what do you think the existing players will do?
ReplyDeleteSturridge, Skrtel, Stirling & Coutinho will also be expecting the same
Would our reserves be happy with sitting on the floor?
ReplyDeleteSell the floor. Have them swim in a metaphysical space of great uncertainty, which will help keep them warmed up.
ReplyDeleteWould he guarantee at least 2nd? If City were half-way competent the best Arsenal could do is 3rd and he's not even their top scorer. He's been put in the shade by Giroud and Cazorla in 2015.
ReplyDeleteHe'd be a fantastic signing. Really good poacher.
ReplyDeleteWould be curious to see how he'd play off another striker as part of a top 2.
But any manager worth his salt would find a way to incorporate him into the team.
Also I think we should have a celebration for the annexation of Jamaica to Africa.
ReplyDeleteSell Sturridge , Always injured !
ReplyDeleteHe played well with Rooney at times... He also scored some very important goals against LFC in his time too.... He will find a great team to sign him, whether it's LFC or not, we'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeletei like ings to be honest but even he would see rogers as a stepping stone
ReplyDelete
