Stunning Deal: BR to make €40m offer for 'amazing' star who wanted LFC move in 2013

Last week, ex-Red Jamie Redknapp hailed 'amazing' Danish star Christian Eriksen as Tottenham's 'shining light', and sixteen months after Liverpool negligently decided that £16m on Alberto and Aspas was a better deal that £11m on Eriksen, Brendan Rodgers is reportedly planning to rectify that mistake during the January transfer Market.

According to multiple reports this week, Liverpool are preparing to make a massive €40m (€32m) January bid for Eriksen, who is also wanted by PSG, Milan, and Borussia Dortmund.

In a recent column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp enthused:

"I’ve been critical of Tottenham in the past, but they were good against Everton. They have made some poor signings but Christian Eriksen is a shining light for them".

* Since signing, Eriksen has 29 goals/assists in 54 games for Spurs (goal/assist every 1.9 games), which is more than worth the paltry comparatively meagre £11m transfer fee.

* Compare that with revered LFC fan-favourite Coutinho - who has 25 goals/assists in 69 appearances for LFC - and it's clear that the Dane is doing fantastically well.

* Also, when it comes to chance creation this season, he's right up there with LFC's midfielders:

* Sterling: 40
* Gerrard: 31
* Eriksen: 34
* Henderson: 27 chances created.
* Lallana: 11
* Coutinho: 8

Prior to signing for Spurs, Eriksen admitted that Liverpool were an 'option', and revealed that he 'talked to Daniel Agger' in a bid to learn more about the Reds. With that in mind, I still can't understand the abnormal thought-process that reached the ridiculous conclusion that Alberto and Aspas = better deal.

Combined, those two cost £5m more than the Dane, and both abjectly failed to make any impact at Anfield. Now, if Liverpool want to rectify this mistake, the club will have to pay through the nose to secure the transfer, just like with Dejan Lovren, who cost the Reds £20m just a year after he signed for Southampton in an £8m deal.

It's transfer negligence of the highest order (IMO), and Liverpool need to arrest the seemingly inexorable negative trend of missing out on (comparatively) cheap players, and then being fleeced after the fact.

I'm a big fan of Eriksen, but €40m? Absolutely no chance. The ship has sailed on this particular transfer; Liverpool had the chance to sign him, but totally blew it, and unless the price is around the £20m mark, the Reds should steer clear.

  1. €40m, FSG are going to sanction that in January that in January? No chance.

  2. Originally he looked more lightweight than Aspas. I don't blame us with this one really. He doesn't look like he is physically up to the rigours of the prem but weirdly he has taken it all in his stride. We went with the other lightweights in Aspas and Alberto and failed to give them a chance. Whose to say that they wouldn't adapt given the chance as it is clear BR is a serial scapegoater and lover of picking the worst team possible from the squad available.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lightweight or not, Eriksen had the pedigree, which suggested he'd do the business in the Prem: regular starter for Denmark; copious CL experience; winner of trophies at Ajax etc.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Would love him here but can't see it...Levy is one tough cookie.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I think you mean before he came to Southampton. The way you've written it is a bit confusing.

    ReplyDelete
  6. We need Diao, Diouf and Cheyrou back...

    ReplyDelete
  7. I really didn't think he or Suarez would have the pace or presence to do it in the prem. It takes all kinds to make it in England but it clearly begins with personality. Take Kuyt for example top scorer in the Dutch league and a Starter for Holland but essentially a terrible striker in the prem. No doubt we are terrible in the transfer market but if Eriksen didn't hit the ground running for us my arguments about him being lightweight would have been ringing through the forums. He was hit or miss in my opinion and we usually get it wrong in those situations. e.g We could have signed Falcoa a few years back for £6m.

  8. Allen, Gerrard and Sterling are forming a pretty neat footballing tribute band to them at the moment. It's as though they never left.

    ReplyDelete
  9. the answer to that batman is the transfer committee...they thought we'll wait until the last minute bid £9 million and the rest is history

  10. Memphis is a Man U target

  11. Pearce has been one of the few that most reference as good journos in connection to Liverpool. He is at every press conference and has spoken to Rodgers one to one on occasion.

  12. Cus he sounds like James Bonds, boring cousin who works at a printing company in Staffordshire.
At weekends he flies kites ?

    Just a suggestion Jaimie

  13. He still won't sign but now I am going to eat a buiscuit

    ReplyDelete
  14. Rory Smith is much better more reliable but pearce is ok

    ReplyDelete
  15. Next to Sturridge Sterling is our best Player and has been more productive than Eriksen this year.

    ReplyDelete
  16. thats the problem

    ReplyDelete
  17. Tony Barrette too. But yeah there is a list of of decent ones and Pearce is on it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hate to be the harbinger of bad news but ...don't we need some strikers?
I might have missed something but creating chances is not the problem scoring them is hence this lunatic idea that we should be looking for a striker....I know I know crazy stuff huh.

  19. I don't agree with a number of your posts and sometimes your manner, however, your post does hold some inconvenient truths.

People sometimes forget that we were European Champions and were for a short while able to attract the very best talent available due to that fact. Having had that advantage, Benitez won...

    One FA Cup.
    56% of his games overall.
(The same as Rodgers so far)

Who was Rafa's last great signing after the heady days of Alonso, Reina Masch etc? Torres?

You can go back, look at Mourinho. Doesn't mean you should. I would prefer Simeone/De Boer, or leave Rodgers to sort it out.

  21. He was the third best Player in a title challenging side in the second Half of last season. The kid has talent but is still a kid.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Doubt it'll happen Jaimie

    ReplyDelete
  23. changed just for you.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So is lukaku, so was Rooney, Gerrard and owen. Sterling is an ok player no more no less. He played better in the second half of last year due to the space afforded to him by the threat of Suarez and Sturridge. Sterling gave the ball to Suarez at every possible opportunity last season. Now he is the main man and the team is struggling because he isn't a talisman in any sense of the word. Teams conceded the midfield to us last season and Sterling looked Okay, not amazing but okay. He isn't technically good enough to play in midfield or wide for that matter. I think I will be proved right with time but I'm hoping he proves me wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  25. whats our teams 4 tonight

    ReplyDelete
  26. I agree. It would be insane. If we are to spend any large amounts of money, which I seriously hope we don't, it should be on a forward. A real one. Who scores goals. Not one who may score goals four years from now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Apparently he said a lot of things that you can't find back anywhere on the net. That said, what does Google and it's billion dollar technology know...

    ReplyDelete
  28. It would be insane to give BR another penny. My instruction to BR would be 'work with what you've got.... You have more players out on loan than some prem teams have as a 1st team squad! AND Start playing the youth players.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I can agree with that

    ReplyDelete
  30. Neither did Mourinho, Pellegrini and Wenger and they all came in and won a couple of league titles between them

    ReplyDelete
  31. The thing had some good characters, there is no doubt. Just if I watch it now it ain't the same as what it would have been many years ago compared to as mentioned with my comment about The Shining. Horror at it's best and even today you can watch The Shining and it is a pure classic which will never die.

    ReplyDelete
  32. But Rodgers can say that he isn't too blame because the committee didn't get him the players he wanted and outvoted him.

    ReplyDelete
  33. HMMmmm! maybe we missed the boat on this one and should leave well alone now, Erikson is quality, but he is not the only one out there, £20/25m for versatile Firmino would make more sense, especially when we need goals.. He's a free scoring AM who is more than capable at CF... Hell I'd even throw Coutinho into the deal to get it done I like him that much....

    ReplyDelete
  34. There will be a few reasons why people don't comment. They're either to lazy, don't care enough, can't be bothered getting into a debate or like me, they have social anxiety disorder. I think that's the question you were asking right?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Don't mention that film, I thought I was hardcore when I was 8 watching Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street etc without getting scared. I watched 'It' and I haven't been the same since.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Whilst I'm in full agreement that the money would've been better spent on Eriksen, ultimately he CHOSE to go to Spurs. As I remember it, we were in for him as were other clubs, so he had a choice and he chose Spurs. Not much we can do about that so I don't know where you're getting that the club thought Aspas and Alberto were a "better deal" than Eriksen. They couldn't get Eriksen so they moved on to other targets who unfortunately were pretty crap.
Point is, it's another Alexis Sanchez situation. All the club can do is meet the asking price for the player and offer a competitive salary. If the player chooses to go elsewhere then there's not much you can do about it

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would rather keep Rodgers than hire Rafa again but the BR needs to come back to reality and take some responsibility. If he can't do that then he must go but the we still need to look forward, not back.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sterling has as many goals/assists as Lukaku and one behind Rooney this season. He may not score as mu h as he could but he creates more than most and is doing as well as those strikers mentioned despite them having more experience and being strikers. It's subjective but your wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  39. disgruntled, unmotivated, and likely to give up if they find themselves 1 down.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Looking at the bigger picture, Sigurrdson is looking like a much happier camper at Swansea.

Not sure how Eriksen will do at LFC. I would rather have Sterling at no 10 than pay over £30m for Eriksen.

    ReplyDelete
  41. On the actual transfer rumour itself, this is one that's so obviously untrue it's almost funny. In the unlikely event that the club are thinking about sanctioning that kind of money in January, it will definitely be on a striker, not competition for Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic etc

    ReplyDelete
  42. Time will tell. I don't think he will be any better than Pennant, Lennon or Andros Townsend. All three started with the exact same hype as Sterling the difference being by the age of 20 Pennant and Lennon were possibly more productive and effective.

My thought is that Sterling is a striker. BR said that

“The kid played in a front role for me at Manchester United, as a
striker moving across the line. It’s a role he’s played before as a young
player when he was at QPR. Obviously with the players that I had here
when I introduced him to the team he played as a wide player."

Like you say Sterling is still YOUNG. But above Rodgers also makes the point that when he was a 'young player' he was a striker. He came to us at 15 as a striker and we wrongly converted him to a wide man.

He isn't a midfield player and will never get the goals/ assists playing out wide because it isnt natural to him. My argument has always been that Raheem is a striker and could be excellent there but BR is choosing to waste his main strengths which are off the ball movement and pace.

If we play him in midfield get used to the mediocre stats because it isn't a role that is natural to him and the trained eye can see this.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Exactly mate. Sterling never expected to have to carry the team this season, he was anticipating Sturridge being there. It's a lot for someone so young. His finishing will improve with age. Make no mistake, Sterling is a top top player, in 4-5 years he'll be a world beater

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's not sudden, Pearce knows more than most simply because he's got the right profile. Works for and with the right people. He's never far off the mark.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Regarding the type of player I compared Sterling to it was more to do with their impact on the pitch and track record to date. Last season and the seasons before Lukaku has been a phenomenon. Rooney's track record all the way back to the age of 16 is outstanding as is owen. Sterling doesn't give me confidence he is going to beat his man on the outside let alone get goals and assists. I can almost guarantee Ross Barkley will take to being a talisman better than Sterling because he was raised on it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It always amazes me how much some.reds praise other teams players and denigrate their own. The players mentioned are more.exceptions than rules. But Sterling has been doing more for us than Barkley has for Everton yet Barkley is.a year older.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Henry played as a winger for.a.while.before becoming a.striker again. Sterling learning more of the game is not necessarily a bad thing.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Their own? If Sterling is a worse player I call it how I see it, If England choose to bomb brown people I call it as I see it. No self loathing going on here mate just trying to be honest.

For £40-70 million Sterling should be an exception to the rule don't you think?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Henry was blessed with technical Excellence combined with an arrogance that fused the two perfectly. Raheem has good off the ball movement and pace. Van Persie also began as wide player but he has a mastery of the ball that Raheem will never poses. The way the greats strike the ball, their follow through everything about their play suggests a particular flair. If Raheem works hard he could be a very good striker but you can't teach a player to be a technical genius.

    ReplyDelete
  50. God I love it when someone talks sense rather than follow bullsh1t headlines.

    ReplyDelete
  51. First and foremost the Transfer commitee and I Ayre has to go as the transfers in last three years. ( 90% of the transfers over the last three years have been flops)

And then B Rodgers(41) should be given £70M minimum to bring in real top class experienced players to club:

Whilst clearing out these 5 dead wood players and 1 player who is good player but has three players ahead of him playing same role so he should be sold with buy back clause/ first refusal in it, so if player excels in away in next 3-4 years and becomes world class player club has first option on him.

Outs: Should be and needs to be in January 2015:

    GK : B Jones(32) RB: G Johnson(30) DM: L Leiva(27)

    CM: J Allen(24) FD: F Borini(23)

And lastly Suso(20) AM who should be sold with buy back/ first refusal if he is sold.

    And then B Rodgers(41) or Klopp(47)

Should bring in these 7 players who will bring class experience to squad:

Defensive Platform : 3 Players desperately needed in :

1: GK: A Begovic(27) Of Stoke for £11-£15M to dislodge S Mignolet(26) permanetly from first 11 week in week out, no bargain basement GK . A Commanding Top class quality GK who has more things in his locker than just being great shot stopper.

2: DM: M Schneiderlin(25) Of Southampton for £17-£22M to come and dislodge S Gerrard(34) as the DM in side

3: CM: Y Cabaye(27) Of PSG for £15-£18M to dislodge J Henderson(24) from the first 11 and to bring class, creativity, goals and real quality to centre of park.

Top Class Creative Experienced goal scoring attackers with mobility, pace and speed: Something our club are desperately lacking in attack now:

    4 and 5: M Reus(25) and P Aubamayeng(25) should both be brought to club in £45M deal RW / LW RWF/LWF

6: A Ayew(24) Of Marseille should be brought for £3M in January or signed on Pre Contract so we can get him signed for free in Summer

7: L Adriano(27) Of S Donesk should be brought for £6M in January or signed on Pre contract so we can get him signed for free in Summer

    ReplyDelete
  52. You always wheel out this tenuous argument even though it's ben discredited many times. Eriksen only chose to go to Spurs because Liverpool couldn't be bothered to pursue him properly. `

He admitted this much after he signed (and I've posted the comment a thousand times). Players like to be wanted - it's human nature, and LFC didn't show that they wanted Eriksen enough.

In that situation, he did what 99% of other people would've done: he went where he was genuinely wanted.

Why would he go to Liverpool when the club clearly wasn't that fussed about whether he was signed or not? That right there is the point; Liverpool should've aggressively pursued Eriksen, but due to the club's ongoing transfer negligence, that didn't happen.

Instead, Rodgers brought in mega-flops Aspas and Alberto for £5m more than Eriksen cost. Absolutely shambolic decision, and if Rodgers gets sacked, decisions like that will be one of the reasons why.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Arrogant in every post of yours I've ever read, that's where ;)

    ReplyDelete
  54. £40-70m? Thought we paid £600k raising to five million.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You might call them like you see them but you seem em wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  56. well we agree to disagree then. I'm here to express my opinion not change minds. May the strongest arguement win! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Winning domestic trophies with Ajax isn't really much of a claim to fame. Copious CL experience but he averaged a goal every 10 games! Regular starter for Denmark, again averaging a goal a game! There was a reason he went to Spurs and not a top CL club. Everyone was linked but no CL bought him. Hindsight is a very exact science.

    ReplyDelete
  58. agree with you 100% about Coutinho.
I think Lambert wasn't expected to play the amount he has and definitely not as a striker to run in behind, so the criticism he gets is a bit (only a bit) unfair IMO

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ohh I was unaware of that development. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  60. Aargh, nope, I've read about it and decided to avoid it at all costs. Sounds absolutely chilling. Is it?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I agree with what you're saying but I don't think you can place the blame squarely at Rodgers feet, he's not responsible for signing players. Identifying them perhaps but actually closing is down to others

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ayre still needs to negotiate contracts so to him what to offer is relevant he needs to be there.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Benitez never used Sterling or Flanagan.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Gutted when Liverpool didn't sign him for £12m especially as he was linked with the club for years and I also remember Agger doing his best to get the club to sign Erikssen by talking him up.

I miss Daniel Agger but i'm certain Martin Skrtel misses him more :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks! Now it feels more complete!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Don't doubt for 1minute what you're saying but 99% don't have it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah that's true. Then my other points then.

    ReplyDelete
  68. But, as I said, here at LFC, FDB 'll be expected to deliver immediately, even by spending obnoxious amount. At Ajax, they still work in a olden days club system, where majority players come from academy.

JM & MP succeeded because they had bottom less pocket to spend - throughout their later career, it had been more of buying success, rather than building. Even, after free spreeing, JM mastered a 3rd spot at Bridges.

For FDB, i am not sure, if he 'll be able to fix a team with say 150mn in total, in a very short time.

I think, we should look for someone with a big global reputation. BR & Moyes has given clear indication that British Managers & even Clubs has lot their pulling power outside UK. I don't want us to run into again 20mn for Downing or Lallana sort of deals.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well Liverpool getting closer to PSG 45milion £ bid, but how they wil match Eriksen weekly 180000£ in PSG, i dont know.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Benitez has no unfinished business. What unfinished business are we talking about here? The club should steer clear of him at all cost. He's not worthy to set foot back at the club. Sacked by Liverpool; sacked by Inter after 5 months; crawled to Chelsea out of desperation and booted after winning the meaningless Europa League, and now at Napoli and about to get sacked. He's an average manager and Liverpool would be begging for trouble should they bring him back to the club. Brendan Rodgers is the man for the job. If he is somehow sacked, Liverpool should hire someone like Frank De Boer who has that winning mentality and good at developing and getting the best out of players. Benitez isolates players, has a fractious relationship with them, and performance means nothing to him. He drops players by picking the names from a hat, and his awkward and silly substitutions are done using the same method. Makes no sense.......walk far from this man, FSG! Don't forget that he fought the boards of Liverpool and Inter.

    ReplyDelete
  71. His football decisions defy logic, and that's why Napoli's players are so confused and play as a disjointed side. 'twas the same thing at Liverpool, Inter and Chelsea. WARNING to FSG - STEER CLEAR!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Guys at ease, noone says Roger is going to actually buy this guy for £40 mil, its peculation and so very unlikely its best to let the blood pressure remain stable at this time

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'd say this is just paper talk. Liverpool once had a vague interest in Eriksen but obviously they didn't follow it up. So whoever is pushing this story is just using that previous interest to talk up the player's profile. I would really doubt that Liverpool have changed their mind on the player and certainly they would be nuts to pay over the odds for him. He's a good player for sure but we've got enough players in his position. The main player he would replace is Coutinho and although he's struggled at various times in the recent past I think Rodgers might stick with him a bit longer.

    ReplyDelete
  74. D you think this was Rodgers decition? Do you think Rodgers decided to buy Alberto and Aspas? I wouldn't say that. FSG is behind this transfer. Transfer comitee is in charge for transfers.

If Rodgers go there will be the same strange (stupid) transfers like in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Exactly. It was transfer comitte and not Rodgers. People must realise that. Rodgers is not responsible.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Once again, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Maybe Agger tol him something that inadvertently put him off? Maybe we couldn't offer the right wages or promise the right things. Maybe he wanted to live in London, a la Sanchez? Maybe he likes white better than red, who knows? No One But Him. If Rodgers comes out and tells us that 'we could have signed Eriksen, but Aspas and Alberto looked like better purchases', fair enough he was misguided and fairly stupid, given the hype around Eriksen at the time. I cant see him saying that, because I honestly doubt that is the case.
On a side note, does anyone watch the Hero Super League? I really do recommend it, not for the footballing quality or the speed or the young talent, but just for the spectacle. Seeing Luis Garcia vs Elano, David James vs Anelka, it's great fun. Kind of reminds me of old chinese epics, where there is one general, a couple of lieutenants and a bunch of fodder going to war against another equally equipped army. I've been following Atletico de Kolkata, captained by Luis Garcia, with our illustrious ex defender Josemi and ex Real player Borja as his lieutenants, then a whole bunch of guys that basically play to pass to those guys! I dont mean to be treading on the local players, its just that the standard of football there makes these players who are way past their prime look amazing. Check out Elano playing for Chennai, he is boss there! Seriously though, it's good fun.

    ReplyDelete
  77. To that list you can add area tucan and Jackson Martinez. Both made public comments that they wanted to move to liverpool, both were looked at, both were wanted by the fans, both went somewhere else, both became absolutely fantastic players and both are now being chased by us again for horrendous amounts of money!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yeah do watch it and follow Chennai a little bit have friend who lives in Tamil Nadu he follows them too its not gr8 standard but is fun to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I reckon Sterling will be as good if not better than Van Persie hes got a huge future.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Shame we don't actually know the true facts of how our transfers work, or more to the point who wants a player and who overrules on that player. For example Brendan maybe said "yes I want eriksen", but then the committee overruled him 3 to 1. A manager should have total control on transfers. He's the one with the tactics and he alone should choose players then there is no doubt if he has got it wrong or not. I hope we get rid of the commitee. It's scandalous that we pass up on players like vertonghen and eriksen for example for a decent fee, only to buy other targets and then get linked back to the original targets for exorbitant amounts, whilst in the meantime over paying for players ( Lovren, Balotelli) or just wasting money on players that don't make any impact in our team (luis Alberto, aspas, borini) . Things have got to change . It's a continuous problem every window for as long as I remember.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Do you think Rodgers doesnt want good players like, Mickitara at BVB ? Erikson at TOT? Willian at CFC ? Salah at cfc ? come on !! he cant use his pocket money to sign them

    ReplyDelete
  82. As a striker I agree he could be very good. Walcott is in the same predicament at Arsenal as he is a natural striker played wide because of his pace. I've always called for Sterling to be played through the middle from almost the first time I saw him play. I think he is an average midfielder/ winger who works hard without much end product but as a striker he could be pretty fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The thing is B Rodgers missed a trick with Eriksen(22) and he should have been brought to the club two seasons ago instead of the money Club wasted on L Alberto(22) and I Aspas(27).

But now we have two players who are as good or even better than C Eriksen(22) but they just do not score enough goals as they are in and out of the team and both should compete with one another for that free role in the side as AM. ( P Coutinho(22) and A Lallana)

There has been madness in newspapers that B Rodgers wants to offer £50M for Benzema(27) in January: That in itself would be criminal as Benzema(27) is worth £25-£30M tops

B Rodgers needs the owners to back him properly in January:

Like G Neville has recently said a top club like Liverpool need to spend more that £40M net spend to compete for the best and top trophies year in year out

    B Rodgers spent £115M in summer but brought in £85M on sales: ( Agger(30), Coady(21), Reina(32) and Suarez(27) )

£115-£85 = £30M net spend on players brought in last summer

Whilst Van Gaal who had no champions league this season was backed very well and spent: £145,500,000 and brought in just £20M on sales:

£145.5 -£20 = £125M net spend on players brought in last summer

The owners need to give B Rodgers a net spend of at least £70M to spend in January and let him spend whatever he can bring in on clearing out some of the dead wood average players we still have at the club:

    GK: B Jones(32) RB: G Johnson(30) DM: L Leiva(27)

    CM: J Allen(24) FD: F Borini(23)

B Rodgers needs to bring in these three players as his main priority in January: GK DM Creative / Goal Scoring CM

1: A Begovic(27) Of Stoke should be brought for £11-£15M to compete and cover S Mignolet(26)

2: M Schneiderlin(25) Of Southampton should be brought for £17-£21M to displace S Gerrard(34) from side as DM

3: I Rakitic(26) Of Barcelona£18-£22M to compete with E Can(20) and J Henderson(24) as he cannot get into team at Barcelona and we need that class and quality in our side now.

And then he should bring in these two class, creative, experienced, mobile, pacey quick attackers to bring more goals to squad/team:

4 and 5: P Aubamayeng(25) and M Reus(25) should be brought to club for combined total of £45M

Those 5 players would change whole dimension of squad and make us a top 1-3 side year in year out: And we would be able to put out a first 11 capable of competing and beating any side in europe.

Team 1 with THE 5 players average players shipped out and THE 5 top class quality players brought in to replace them:

    Begovic
    Manquillo Lovren Sakho Moreno
    Rakitic Schneiderlin Lallana

    Sterling Aubamayeng/ Sturridge Reus

And team 2 could / would be good strong side also:

    Mignolet
    Flanagan Skrtel Toure Enrique
    Gerrard/ Henderson Can Coutinho

    IBE Balotelli / Lambert Markovic

Team one would cause problems for the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid.

  84. Unlucky your boys missed out on the final. I'm hoping to see Luis lift the trophy over the blasters. I'm sure they will put on a hell of a spectacle for the final as well. I love the names they give the teams, it's so American to do that, and it's cheesy as all hell. I suppose I get the same pleasure out of watching the Hero Super League as I do watching really OTT patriotic war type movies. It's hilarious, but the creators don't know that.
Watch for the bits where they just cut to a shot of a 'Hero' car somewhere in the stadium for 10 seconds or so, for advertising reasons. Priceless stuff.

  85. Jaimie, I'm most surprised that you were unable to respond to my post on your site that suggested using the loan system as a cost free way of importing Shawcross, Cattermole and Begovich to repair our defence yet you give countenance to a one line post above that should have been deleted for the use of inappropriate language.
I also suggested that Tony Pulis should be called in to do a Red Adair on The Reds only this time he needed to light the fires rather than put them out.
Nevertheless, it is encouraging to see that another website is pursuing the Pulis for Liverpool line - perhaps he reads your contributors suggestions and treats Guests inputs with the same diligence as those of Members.

  86. I like a Webmaster with the balls to respond to criticism rather than just delete the post!
