After another tedious and disruptive international break, it's back to business for Liverpool, and it's no exaggeration to suggest that Crystal Palace is (arguably) the most important game of the season so far.
There's no sugar-coating the present reality: after four defeats in six games Liverpool (and three losses on the spin) Liverpool are in dire straits, and Brendan Rodgers is under intense pressure to arrest the club's inexorable slide into mid-table mediocrity.
Crystal Palace is, quite simply, a must-win game; defeat is unthinkable, but anything can happen in the Premier League, and although - on paper - Liverpool are the better side, there's no guarantee that the Reds will win the game.
That said, there's no real excuse for Liverpool not to win the game. With only one point from the last five games, Crystal Palace are on a terrible run, and if the Reds can't beat a team in relegation form, then there's a serious problem somewhere.
It all depends on Rodgers' approach: will he stubbornly stick with 4231 with Balotelli as a lone-striker, or will he finally make a proactive change, and start the game with two strikers? Based on his pre-Palace press conference on Friday, it appears that the manager may be amenable to changing tactics. He told reporters:
“You have to find the solutions when you are not winning games. You have to assess where you can be better and that is something I will always do. I am not dogmatic. In my time here we have played in various systems: possession and fast football, counter-attacking football. There are other possibilities for us and we will always explore that.”
That's heartening to hear, and it's possible that Rodgers could bench Can, Lallana, and Balotelli (Combined cost: £52m) to implement whatever change he has in mind, but to be honest, I expect to see him field the following team:
------------------- Mignolet
Johnson ---- Skrtel --- Lovren ---- Moreno
---------------- Can --- Gerrard
----- Hendo ----- Sterling ----- Lallana
------------------ Balotelli
My preferred team for Palace:
------------------- Mignolet
Manquillo ---- Skrtel --- Lovren ---- Moreno
-------------------- Lucas
------------- Hendo ------ Gerrard
------------------- Coutinho
-------------- Sterling -- Balotelli
* Lucas remains Liverpool's most effective defensive midfielder, and as long as he doesn't partner Gerrard (in a 4231 formation, for example), they can both play in the same team.
* Skrtel/Lovren is LFC's first-choice defensive partnership, so Rodgers must stick with the duo, and give them a chance to build up a rapport.
* Sterling is not a striker, but he'll probably be more effective alongside Balotelli than Borini or Lambert.
* Lallana could easily replace Coutinho in the above formation, but in my view, the Brazilian deserves to start more than Lallana, who has contributed next-to-nothing this season.
Predicting a 1-1 draw, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson urged Rodgers to try something different up-front. He told the BBC:
"I think it might be time for Brendan Rodgers to give Rickie Lambert a proper chance up front. Lambert has not played much since his move from Southampton, where he showed how capable he is of scoring goals in a team that plays good football".
With the greatest respect, if Rickie Lambert is the answer, then Liverpool are asking the wrong question. Whatever people think of Balotelli, he is the better footballer, and if effectively utilised by Rodgers, he has the potential to make an impact for LFC.
One thing's for sure - Liverpool's pitifully goal-shy attacking players need to step up and start contributing, especially Lallana, Henderson, Balotelli, Borini, Lambert, Coutinho, Gerrard, and Sterling, who hasn't scored a goal for nine games now.

My team
ReplyDeleteMig
Manquillo Skrtell Toure Moreno
Can
Hendo lallana
Coutinho
Sterling Balotelli
Ive heard Balo is out of the game vs CP... That leaves Borini +sterling up top. ;(
ReplyDeleteId like to see markovic up front actually. Him + sterling would be a lot of pace for the defenders to handle
ReplyDeleteBalotelli is at the boxing so I assume he won't be playing
ReplyDeleteyeah agree time to phase gerrard out , and use him more as a impact of the bench
ReplyDeleteMy team, which I believe has about a 5% chance of reality is
ReplyDeleteMignolet
Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Moreno
Lucas
Hendo Can
Sterling Coutinho Lallana
with Gerrard to come on for Can after 60",
followed by either Borini / Lambert / Balotelli for Coutinho & Lallana
OR
defenders to shore up, if winning by the odd goal in last 15-10 mins.
Balo and Gerrard should be on the bench. Lucas as DM is the best bet now. Can bring in Gerrard in the second half as an attacking Midfielder. But Rodgers with his stubborn dogmatic system it would be very unlikely. Lambert should start with Sterling upfront. These guys can run between the lines unlike Balo who is static and slow. His presence distrupts the attacking flow and is frustrating to watch and the players are also unhappy according to reports.
ReplyDeleteI find it very surprising how Skrtel and Lovren are regarded as first choice when they have had on clean sheet and conceded 14 goals in 9 matches as our CB pair. At the rate they are going we will concede 60 goals or more.
ReplyDeleteMentioned this before. Markovic has loads of pace. Rodgers is just to stubborn to try anything new and would rather stick with his ghastly new system even when he can see it has not worked.
ReplyDeleteLet's see what happens today.
this is a good run of games and liverpool needs to build that confidence in them..now or never..you cant depend on one player to come and rescue(although it hurts to see sturridge so fragile)..giving my team here and debating on who should play wont matter at all as steering is in BR's hand and he need to get this team away from ditches now..he needs to find a solution..coming out in press and saying all these things wont help if he does the same every time..i dont know how can he say he is not being dogmatic when i have so many evidences to prove that..he has to be brave..if he is not capable of saving liverpools season after spending way too much than i am sorry you need to leave as this club is too big for your arrogance.
ReplyDeleteNah, Rodgers told him he needed to show more fighting spirit, so he was getting some pointers from the professionals.
ReplyDeleteMigs
ReplyDeleteManquillo Skrtel Toure Moreno
Gerrard
Can Lallana
Markovic Sterling
Lambert
No Henderson? He has not been great of late but only because he is not being deployed as he was last season.
ReplyDeleteHenderson should be playing further up the pitch like he did last season. Now he is playing a role with the aim of the team conceding less goals.
ReplyDeleteWe have scored less goals this season and conceded more. Rodgers is the reason for most of the players dip in form. Look at Sterling, he is a shadow of the player we saw last season.
Higuin,Martinez,Doumbia...we need these players...not young players again
ReplyDelete----------------------Migs---------------------
ReplyDeleteManquillo---Skrtel----Lovren---Moreno
-------------------Lucas-------------------
----------------Henderson-----Allen------------
--------------------Coutinho-----------------
--------Balo/Lambert------------Borini-------
Honestly, I give up on selecting a team because BR is never going to change. No matter how bad Johnson or Skrtel or Lovren perform, they are still going to play. What is the point when the manager is so stubborn?
ReplyDeleteLiverpool Echo have reported that Balotelli is out with a hamstring and groin injury and was seen at the boxing last night. He will not be playing today. No loss to us though as he would have played up top on his own again anyway.
ReplyDeleteHoping we get 3 points today, not feeling confident at all.
Rodgers plays Gerrard in case we get a penalty (Hollywood ball) he brings little else to the team- his pace is gone and Palace will bypass him as if he's not there just like every other team has done and with the 'Trinity of Despair' trying to defend don't expect a win just cos Palace are'nt playing well.
ReplyDelete----------------Gerrard
ReplyDelete----------Hendo -------Lallana
Sterling------------------Balotelli
---------------Lambert
Podolski anybody?
ReplyDeletesurprised we havent been linked with a move for ched evans.......
ReplyDeleteTo be fair it was Brendan who moved the 'winger' to number 10 position in the first place..
ReplyDeleteBut if the no 10 position is the one that is far more effective then why persist with Sterling on the wing this season?
ReplyDeleteRodgers is adamant that the system he is forcing onto the team will work. Let's see what happens today...
Balotelli injured so it makes it easier. And better-
ReplyDelete--------------Gerrard
------Hendo ---------Coutinho
Sterling-----Lambert---Lallana.
sECOND HALF bORINI for Lambert and if we are by any chance comfortably leading Can for Gerrard and Lazar for the most tired one.
I think it is because of his pace out wide. We lost that with Suarez leaving, and none of the players we bought compensated.
ReplyDeleteYou have lost me. We played a very direct style of football last season.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteI think this is the first time since the Hodgson era where I have gone into a game thinking we will lose.
ReplyDeleteHow many times was Suarez on the flank? oR dANIEL FOR THAT mATTEr? No matter how direct you play you need to spread their defence in order to make space.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter- Sakho looks clumsy.
ReplyDeleteLast press sounded like he might actually change few things... Fingers crossed..
ReplyDeleteThe only way Suarez and Sturridge scored so many was playing as a front two with Sterling right behind them. Combine that with a hig pressing game and very little width is required as all you need to do is either find Suarez, Sturridge or Sterling = goals.
ReplyDeleteThis season it has been find Balotelli and expect him to create miracles like Suarez did. Bravo Brendan, barvo!
The fact that Sterling is being played out wide time and time again with no positive outcome proves that he needs to play centrally.
I think Sterling wide just needs different set up. And different players.
ReplyDeleteRodgers cannot afford another loss, that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat different setup? He will be playing wide and If it is not working then it is not working so then why persist?
ReplyDeleteYes with Lambert up on his own...
ReplyDeleteWhen you concede 14 goals in 9 matches then that cannot be classified as clumsy.
ReplyDeleteSakho = scapegoat.
-----Allen(Can)--Gerrard
ReplyDeletesterling----------------(Lallana)
-----------Ballo
-------------Lambert
When Ballotelli goes wide, Sterling cuts in.
That is what I meant,..
ReplyDeleteSterling is not a hug the touchline winger.
ReplyDeleteHaha, always positive..
ReplyDeleteJust saying ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhen Ballotelli goes wide, Sterling cuts in.
ReplyDeleteI honestly believe we will get beat.
ReplyDeleteI think Palace will do what West Ham did, push their strikers up and just launch high balls into our box.
So far this season our defenders and migs have proven time and time again they can not deal with simple high balls put into the area.
I have always been positive though, even in BR's first season but really, it is his 3rd season now and he has gone back to the way we played in the first half of his 1st season. After 11 matches in his 1st season we were 13th with 12pts, 14 goals scored and 16 conceded. Slow build up play with our defence having majority of the ball.
ReplyDeleteIt has been really painful to watch hence the negativity.
In the formation above Lallana is a midfielder building up and defending, but when goes wide upfront he gets help from Moreno who is a lightning. That would be lethal for all the Newcastles and Hulls of the EPL....
ReplyDeleteSorry, but Sterling and wide do not belong in the same sentence this season.
ReplyDeleteIf you play him centrally then you will see the damage he does aka vs Spurs this season.
Unfortunately Brendan is not utilising the players he has available to best effect. With the players currently available i would got with this line up;
ReplyDeleteMignolet
Manquillo Skertl Lovren Moreno
Lucas
Hendo Can
Lallana
Sterling Lambert
Also I feel side should play together for a run of games with changes only coming with a loss of form or where there are signs of fatigue. One of the main reasons for our great run towards the end of last season is we had a settled side who able to build up and understanding over a number of games. This season Brendan is keeping faith with the wrong players primarily Gerrard and Johnson who unfortunately are past their best, will he make the tough decisions required to put our season back on track...
I know mate, just.. Tired of negativity before matches. I know it is actually reality, but before every match every fan/supporter(and especially Liverpool's one) should be hoping and saying this one will turn everything arround, right? Afterwards we can rant away the day, but...
ReplyDeleteI have posted in this very thread that i am hoping for 3 points but unfortunately cannot see it.
ReplyDeleteYou'll see them...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Wenger
ReplyDeleteAgree. Sterling is just not as effective but I really think Brendan has to give him a rest. He has not been as effective in previous games and I want Lallana and Coutinho to play together. But, there is no use as we will see the same team as Chelsea with maybe Can out as he was our best player.
ReplyDeleteI like the one you would like to see. Including clumsy duo at CB. The only questions for me would be Couts or Lallana as Couts looks like he is tracking back just to get the ball from our defender, not trying to recover the ball himself. And Gerrard ain't tired so..
ReplyDeletei want to see markovic, lallana, can, lovren, manquillo and moreno all on the pitch at the same time
ReplyDelete................................................sterling
lallana...............................coutinho...............gerrard.............markovic
......................................................can
moreno...............................lovren............toure...................manquillo
..................................................mignolet
bench: lambert,borini,henderson,allen,skrtel,johnson,jones
this a nevergonnacrackthecode verified formation
enjoy!
Have you actually watched Markovic? in the Champions League games he has no ability to beat a player he's probably the worst purchase of the last transfer window
ReplyDeleteLogan exactly Sakho's stats show he's better than Lovren if anyone can be bothered to look
ReplyDeleteBalotelli wont be playing against Crystal Palace as he was at the Boxing in Liverpool last night which indicates he didn't travel with the sqaud.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone mentions playing Markovic I shall ask them to look at his performance so far and show me why he justifies it.
While were on that subject Rogers loaned out Jordan Ibe and if anyone was watched this kid he scored a world class goal yesterday.
While Rogers bought Markovic...The prosecution rests your honour.
Stick him up front and let him run with the ball. His link up play is also very good.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he doesn much attacking and he's lack of willingness to track back was the reason he got substituted in each game.
ReplyDeletePlus in his interviews he rates himself way above his ability.
No way is he a better player than Jordan Ibe, there was no need to loan Ibe and Markovic.
This is Rogers doing.
Jordan Ibe was the man in Pre-Season for us..........I was so much hoping he would be given the opportunity but typical LFC loan out a good player get some new player and not even use him properly,,,,,Even last season we could have kept Suso instead we bought Alberto and loaned him out this season..... something is seriously wrong with our transfer policy
ReplyDeleteFully agree with you
ReplyDeleteManure are in 4th position.......My head is EXPLODING....BR get your head of your arse and do something
ReplyDeleteI think Lallana was one of the biggest mistakes. Markovic probably cannot even speak English. Once he has settled then we could see his true ability.
ReplyDeleteIf Sterling is struggling out wide in this rubbish system then clearly there is not much hope for Markovic at the moment.
Very easy to criticise a player when he's been put into a new league, new country, new and out of form team, with a very different style of play to his new team mates, give him a handful of disjointed appearances and that is it, he's the worst and (cue ominous voice) this is all Rodgers doing... Relax, there's a reason he was 20m, a reason why he was well known worldwide. You probably said the same about sterling when he first came on? Or Hendo?
ReplyDeleteWe should have kept Ibe and Ilori instead of sending them out on loan this season.
ReplyDelete...please...
ReplyDeleteFYI and as your not someone I'm familiar with will know I said Dalglish was holding back Sterling.
ReplyDeleteI also know right now that Jordan Ibe is a better player for Liverpool than Markovic and yes I attribute the responsibility to Rogers.
Most people around the world know who Fred who played for Brazil is but that doesn't mean you want him in your team.
and saved 40m on Marko and Lovren
ReplyDeletevan Gaal talks so much rubbish. UTD won't finish 4th this season. Arsenal as usual cannot win when it matters most.
ReplyDeleteSo next season we will 'push on'
ReplyDeleteI think we should have saved money by not signing Lovren and Lallana.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hate to say this but manure have better chance than us to finish 4th......
ReplyDelete15 teams have better chance than us
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love how he was trying to act like he did some masterclass. Absolute rubbish. His plan wasn't working- I don't call struggling to get out of your own half a plan that's working. Their second goal was from their first shot on target! Arsenal completely gifted that game to them with their wasted opportunities.
ReplyDeleteLallana was on BR' radar for long time....If we had got Shaquiri then Marko would have not come
ReplyDeleteAnd let's wait until about February before we start predicting Southampton to make the top 4. I'm talking about Southampton because you don't think we'll make top 4 either...
ReplyDeleteRight now I see top 4 like this
ReplyDeleteChelsea
City
Arsenal
Southampton
Southampton are the surprise package this season.
It'd be utterly embarrassing if Southampton made the top 4 and we didn't. But I wouldn't be mad at them, I like them. It would just be a reflection of how utterly shit our football operation is compared to theirs.
ReplyDeleteDoesnt matter Bro they still got 3 points which we are struggling to get these days
ReplyDeleteYeah but that's another argument. We're talking about how much shit LVG talks ;)
ReplyDeleteYup I read so many articles on different sites on how they would relegated this season and here they are
ReplyDeleteYeah I dont like the guy either
ReplyDeleteMaybe he should present his interviews in Dutch?
ReplyDelete5 goals conceded in 11 games. 5 goals conceded in 11 games. 5 goals conceded in 11 games...we take away supposedly their best CB, United steal their best fullback, yet they're still by far the best defensive team. Maybe because Koeman actually knows how to coach defence...
ReplyDeleteI don't dislike him...yet. He's just a little annoying because he talks to much, but I wouldn't care if he were Arsenal manager.
ReplyDeleteRonald Koeman has won 8 trophies as a manager st different clubs and numerous trophies as a player
ReplyDeleteif they get top 4 then next season will be their real test with CL . They will be unseeded and prob get Madrid or Bayern but will still probably do better than us- good luck to them. If we don't beat Ludogorets then all that money spent to 'compete' in CL will be wasted and BR will be gone
ReplyDeleteGlad Balo ( our "marquee signing ) is out. We should try Sterling and Borini up front backed by Coutinho Gerrard and Henderson. Have Can or Lucas at DM or put Lovren at Dm and insert Toure at CB.
ReplyDeleteBut was Lallana needed? Markovic still a very young player. New country, new league, massive club. He still has many years ahead of him.
ReplyDeleteLallana was our most expensive purchase and is not even a regular and has not set the world alight either. Could have gone and looked for a proper striker instead.
I wish BR would play Lucas at DM and bring SG after an hour
ReplyDeleteGet ready for Lambert up in his own now :-o
ReplyDeleteWe should be able to get out the group with ease with our squad
ReplyDeletewould like to see a midfield of lucas can and henderson..liverpool look better side with a proper DM
ReplyDeleteThat midfield lacks creativity.
ReplyDeletei would go with Coutinho, Can and Henderson.
Just look at Fabregas at Chelsea how amazingly Jose has used him and look at Lallana he has had no major impact on our team because of our clueless Manager
ReplyDeleteLallana?
ReplyDeleteCan and henderson are creative..not to underestimate them
ReplyDeleteCoutinho is a mastermind and my midfield option offers mobility and endurance from all three of the players.
ReplyDeleteyeah he is too a viable option..i have a problem with gerrard at DM because that shifts you to 4-2-3-1 which should not be the case
ReplyDeleteI have a problem with 4-2-3-1 because we do not have a Mascherano and Alonso combination and with an injured sturridge we do not have a capable striker of leading the line. Somebody wake Rodgers up!
ReplyDeleteLFC XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson, Gerrard, Allen, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Lambert.
ReplyDeleteNo CAN really BR really ALEN OH GOD SAVE US PLZ
ReplyDeleteKnew it. Johnson, Skrtel and Lovren can never be dropped. No point in speculating.
ReplyDeleteSACK BR ALREADY
ReplyDeleteagreed seppy from waht ive seen hes garbage
ReplyDeleteright rodgers isnt playing according to the players liverpool has..i always thought that he found a good system in diamond and every player was comfortable in it..then suarez left and sturridge got injured..SAS for a season
ReplyDeleteHaha Allen is starting ahead of Can hahahaha just after he scored a goal against Chelsea hahahaha this is too fuc@ing comical
ReplyDeleteSo I almost got it right.
ReplyDelete---------------Mignolet-------------
Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Johnson
---------Gerrard--Allen----------
Sterling----Coutinho---Lallana---
--------------Lambert---------------
3 points or nothing. Rodgers is adamant his system will work. Let's see what palace have to say about that.
omg lambert starting up front by himself
ReplyDeleterodgers really wants that compensation package
Jaimie, as you say, never drop a player after scoring in the previous game. But, he did in Can, our best player from last game. I said before this would happen.
ReplyDeleteBit off topic, but please god I hope this Redmond rumour this morning is nonsense.
ReplyDeletewhat is up with rodgers man..no can no moreno..and why jhonson why????
ReplyDeleteJohnson is BR's love child
ReplyDeleteallen ,lambert, johnson still in the line up
ReplyDeleterodgers is even more clueless then roy hodgson
not sure how gerrard and allen start before hendo, can and lucas in midfield ...cant see how that midfield can protect what is in effect a garbage defence
ReplyDeleteI thought Hendo would play instead of Coutinho but at least BR spared us on that. But, as usual, the holy triumvurate keep their thrones.
ReplyDeleteChampions League maybe?
ReplyDeleteChampionship Manager
ReplyDeleteHendo injured. not on the bench but Johnson ahead of Moreno?
ReplyDeleteTaxi!
your right it is easy to criticize players especially if they are crap
ReplyDeleteWhen BR gets the sack I hope he takes Allen with him too
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Indian satellite can take him to Mars.
ReplyDeleteNo Can as well
ReplyDeleteto be fair moreno has been responsible
ReplyDeletefor two defeats
to newcastle and city
they both are equally bad defensivly
but moreno si much better in atatcking
in BRs management if you performed well you ll see bench next game ..if you want to be a regular then u have to be drastically poor..
ReplyDeletebalotelli,borini,lambert, allen,sakho,mignolet ,
ReplyDeleteWell done that man - now get your kit on you're playin
ReplyDeleteLallana for me, and Can. I'd actually leave Gerrard on the bench but that will never happen, so maybe Gerrard, Can and Henderson in midfield with Lallana, Sterling and Mario up front. I think Coutinho has been erratic at times and he gives the ball away too much. He has his moments but he doesn't really have the runners in front of him to take the passes so his best quality is kind of wasted. Liverpool need to attack up the wings, not through the middle where Jedinak will be waiting and Lallana will be more effective on the left.
ReplyDeletei know its wrong to wish liverpool to lose just because i want manager sacked
ReplyDeletebut can anyone see rodgers surviving 4 losses in a row ?
No shortage of under performers then
ReplyDeleteteams out mate
ReplyDeleteCheck the line up
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteRodgers is becoming very predictable just like we are becoming very easy to beat.
ReplyDeleteHendo ill.
ReplyDeleteWhat I am also worried about is by some magic, we get a 3-2 win, then BR will stick with this pile again.
ReplyDelete12 games for LFC from today till Jan 1st,2015............ be afraid be very afraid!
ReplyDelete3 goals thats asking too much
ReplyDeletekelly might help us out
ReplyDeleteown goals is the only way
Watch the CL team be shocked or maybe not. You will see the names Johnson,Skrtel and Lovren on there.
ReplyDelete3-1, Liverpool.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone interested....
ReplyDeleteCrystal Palace: Speroni, Kelly, Delaney, Dann, Ward, Jedinak, Ledley, Bolasie, Puncheon, Chamakh, Gayle.
Subs: Hennessey, Hangeland, Bannan, McArthur, Zaha, Campbell, Johnson.
It's true nobody worries about us anymore- dodgy keeper leaky defence and no goal scorers- what's to be afraid of?
ReplyDeleteSterling wasted out wide. Lambert up on his own. Where will the goals come from?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Rodgers will pull a rabbit out of the hat but that defence is an accident waiting to happen.
Puncheon-Johnson will be interesting..
ReplyDeleteFor gods sake!!! What does Gerrard have to do to get dropped!!! Lucas is going to leave not coz of money but Rodgers has his favorites!!!
ReplyDeleteWell rested, world class captain.
ReplyDeleteAgreed..... LFC cannot afford to lose this under any circumstance.... I think Palace will come out and thrash LFC the 1st 15 min if they want to shake up LFC, otherwise .......LFC quick movement up front and good finishing should punish Palace...or am I just daydreaming...?
ReplyDeleteand we will bid 20m for Ali in next summer
ReplyDeleteown goals maybe but i cant see them scoring 3
ReplyDeleteUs scoring mate, us.. Like it was us last season...
ReplyDeleteThat team is more than capable...
ReplyDeleteOn the bench though.
ReplyDeleteJohnson, Skrtel, Lovren and Rodgers are best mates!
i too want that to happen again but that feeling just doesnt come now a days with our strikers failing to score a single goal in league...previous season i used to be confident that we ll score at least 1 or maybe 2 in first 20 mins
ReplyDeleteThe game plan for Palace is going to be quite simple. Bomb balls into our box and watch our defence crumble.
ReplyDelete3-1 lpool sterling 1st goal 80/1 ladbrokes
ReplyDeleteIf we lose this game Rodgers has to go!!! And I don't know why pundits keep saying we lost the title at crystal palace.... It was Chelsea and mourinhos that stopped that's the day I knew Rodgers is a naive manager should've played for the point even if it was boring nil nil we conceded 3 against crystal palace cos we were trying to make goal difference
ReplyDeleteWe need a world class player first then captain
ReplyDeleteSo we had a world class striker up front last time we played Palace and now we have an immobile, lacking in confidence, 30 plus, 0 goals or assists, poor performer up front in Lambert.
ReplyDeleteI really hope he makes me eat my words but Lambert should be no where near the 1st team in a crush game like this.
Well done BR for sticking with our only world class player, Glen Johnson...
I am not expecting a single point from this game. Defence a shambles as always, goalkeeper who thinks his Buffon, our only creative force lacking in confidence together with poor performances (Coutinho), a declining former world class player who is playing based on his legend status, and a 19yo with way too much pressure on his shoulders who will probably play in his most less efficient position....
3-1 Palace and BR to praise the team for their character and willingness to die for the shirt. After describing our performance as outstanding he will say we were unlucky.
Probe me wrong please but this is based on this season abject performances both from the team and BR.
Gerrard, Skrtel, Lovren and Johnson should not be playing.
ReplyDeleteThey have a chance to redeem themselves today though but then have to do it consistently. You know where I am going...
the big question however
ReplyDeleteis how do you go in 4 months from Sturridge and Suarez up front to Ricky lambert
we need a striker who i am not faster then
ReplyDeleteAdd Allen to that. After how Can performed against Chelsea and Madrid and his physicality to match Palace's, how can you contemplate leaving him out. If BR does not like Borini or Lambert, play Sinclair. We need pace and at least he has got it.
ReplyDeleteRodgers PLEASE , PLEASE GO AWAY TAKE YOUR BALOTELLI, LOVREN AND GO AWAY. WE DO NOT RECOGNISE LFC ANYMORE. YOU ARE HURTING US MORE THAN EVER
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like young English players playing at the top level with top clubs, I have to say the valuation is highly inflated. No disrespect but he not a proven goalscorer. Have we not learnt from our previous mistakes. Look at our best strikers in recent times. Torres and Suarez. Both played at a high level, European experience, proven goalscorers. Look elsewhere unless your happy being a top 8 club. Im not and I expect more. YNWA.
ReplyDelete
