Well, no one saw this one coming (!) Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has sprung a major surprise this afternoon by leaving Raheem Sterling on the bench for the Reds' Premier League game with Aston Villa.
FULL TEAM: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Sakho, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Markovic, Lallana, Balotelli
SUBS: Jones, Enrique, Lucas, Toure, Sterling, Lambert, Borini
VILLA: Guzan, Hutton, Baker, Senderos, Cissokho, Westwood, Delph, Cleverley, Richardson, Agbonlahor [c], Weimann.
Many LFC fans will be unhappy with Rodgers resting Sterling, but in my view, it's a good decision. Liverpool should not have to rely on a 19-year old, and with the hype-machine currently out of control, withdrawing the youngster from the spotlight every now and again is arguably the right thing to do.
Earlier this week, I argued that the gross overpraise of Sterling is counter-productive, and as per usual, many fans refused to accept it. However, Brendan Rodgers himself argued this week that he needs to be 'protected' from the hype, so my point is valid. When asked on Thursday whether Sterling is being overhyped by the media, Rodgers said:
"I think he [Sterling] needs protection. I have seen it over the years. He is doing great for Liverpool but there are still a lot of things he needs to learn. I expect him to keep progressing but in terms of where he is at I think we need to be careful".
Probable formation:
------------------ Mignolet
Manquillo --- Lovren -- Sakho --- Moreno
----------------- Gerrard
----------- Hendo ------ Lallana
----------------- Coutinho
------------------------- Markovic
---------------- Balotelli
My prediction: 2-2, or 3-2 to LFC.
I hope Sterling spends the whole game on the bench. If Liverpool are winning, he doesn't need to play, and with three games in seven days, the more rest he gets, the better.

Looks a good team. Happy Markovic started. His blistering pace will help us a lot..
ReplyDelete6 new players
ReplyDeleteonly lambert, origi and can are not playing of rodgers transfers
of the 117m we spent
balotelli 16m , markovic,20m,lallana 25m, lovren 20m , moreno 12m manquillo loan
so 93 m
6/11 new recruits
ReplyDelete93m/117m on field
dont be surprised if it looks a bit disorganized
Lambert the only one available of the nine summer signings who doesn't start ! 4-1 to liverpool is my prediction. Bold from Rodgers, reckon there could be fireworks; in balotelli's gaff after the game.
ReplyDeleteArguably this game is the hardest in the next seven days. Not sure about Rogers decision making on this.
ReplyDeletehe is not faster then sterling
ReplyDeleteI think he is.. He just glides with the ball. What is the point of this anyways? They both play for us.
ReplyDeleteSo what?
ReplyDeleteNot surprised at all that Raheem has been put on the bench. For the last 3 days all the articles in the news have been about Brendan saying we must protect him, not over work him, still lots to learn etc. Brendan was setting the stage for this line up, and I am very happy with it. Have a Sterling on the bench is something we haven't for years (figuratively you pedants). Last year Villa wrote the blue print in how to play against us, stifling our play and I think Brendan will be a little more defence minded; possibly this:
ReplyDelete................................Mignolet
Manquillo.......Lovren.........Sakho........Moreno
...................Gerrard..........Henderson
...Markovic..............Coutinho...........Lallana
................................Balotelli
I for one reacted to the fact that you were including Rodgers with the media and claimed that he was probably acting irresponsibly in the way he was managing the hype over Sterling. His comments this weekend suggest otherwise.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this is a good team selection, and should be good enough to see past Aston Villa. Can't wait to see Markovic and Lallana in action.
is lucas on the bench
ReplyDeleteWhat happend to "since he scored last game, he deserves a start..."
ReplyDeleteHe's on a role, let him play, take him off early if need be, but let him play.
Too many changes to the team with sturridge out, Skrtel out, now Sterling - not the best idea.
Didn't he play almost 180 mins with England? I just think he needs a little rest before the busy schedule ahead.
ReplyDeletenice prediction jk in a draw or a win for liverpool .why mot cover all 3 bases and add a win for villa as well
ReplyDeletewhat a calamity ........experiment over bring sterling on
ReplyDeleteWe need to change the formation. Henderson is wasted in the position he is playing in now.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about Villa that we cannot tackle?
ReplyDeleteLovren was supposed to add steel to our defense but he keep commiting mistake after mistake...
ReplyDeleteWe aren't even pressing the ball.
ReplyDeleteI say bring Lambert and Sterling on
ReplyDeleteI say change the formation.
ReplyDeletellanna rusty + gerrard finished = henderson the only one who can press
ReplyDeleteGoing to be a long day. We are the home team and playing deep...
ReplyDeleteWe are missing a spark in midfield. To much pedestrian passing accomplishing nothing.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like 4-2-3-1 as an offensive formation. It means you inevitably end up with the defenders seeing too much of the ball, and the centre forward becoming an attacking pivot with the 3 breaking past him. The movements are difficult to read, sure, but the through balls are virtually impossible and rarely lead to clear opportunities. Lallana is peripheral. Move Hendo up, Gerrard back to deep, Lallana back to partner Hendo, Coutinho to No. 10 and Markovic up front close to Balotelli, please.
ReplyDeleteVilla have us figured out. Surprised Rodgers is persisting with going nowhere.
ReplyDeleteVilla are playing with a back six and we are still going for the cautious approach.
ReplyDeleteSakho was never supposed to concede the corner in the fast place. Even I could have cleared that ball.
ReplyDeleteThis is what you call tactics and formation gone horribly wrong.
ReplyDeletei don't understand how lovren can let the playes he's marking to get in front of him on corners... that's like the first thing you learn.
ReplyDeletemarkovic looks woeful
ReplyDeleteso weak!
agger has give him tips before leaving
ReplyDeleteVilla saw from the start of the match that we were not going to take the game to them. They have their goal. Now all they need to do is park the bus and hit us on the counter.
ReplyDeleteCannot understand why Rodgers has gone for a defensive approach. Awful football.
manquillo and markovic have very bad 1st touches
ReplyDeleteCoutinho, Lallana, Markovic, Balotelli, Henderson etc - it's not defensive at all, so where you get that from is anyone's guess. The team just isn't playing that well. Doesn't mean it's a defensive approach.
ReplyDeleterodgers has blown it
ReplyDeletethe cl is 2nd priority to the premier league and raheem sterling should play vs villa even if that means he does not play vs ludengrets
this all backs my theory that liverpool should ahve got a more experienced manger who has won trophies
compare trophy count of van gaal, mourinho, wenger and to a lesser extent pellegrini, the sign are clear.
henry make a call to rafa
And like that we are back to no cutting edge. Moreno had an easier situation than his goal against Spurs and elected to pass. If he shot, the mood would be so much different. At least Mario looks good. Take Lallana off( since he is rusty and on a yellow) and bring on Sterling to play as a second striker. Also, what happened to Coutinho. Tip-Tap...
ReplyDeleteAston Villa worked incredibly hard to shut the door. Gotta be patient.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this isn't a knee-jerk reaction...
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Easy clearance, and he fluffed it.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing defensive, we're just extremely slow in our attacks like against Southampton.
ReplyDeletetoo many new players ta once
ReplyDeletewhat happen to bedding them in
this is just as bad as 4cbs vs southampton
rodgers running out of excuses
Who would you have put ?
ReplyDeleteit wasnt even a fluff a fluff infers something happened
ReplyDeleteSee how much having two strikers helps. Our attack looks clueless in the three games without one and world class in the one with it.
ReplyDeletethe defending letting is down once again, sure we weren't great offensivelly but it's more about getting use to playing with each other than being poor or defensive.
ReplyDeleteYou're entitled to your opinion but, seriously, get a grip. I haven't seen this much reactionary knee-jerkism since, well, your last post.
ReplyDeleteor a least since suarez left
ReplyDeleteDon't know if BR's plan was to save Raheem for the CL but we need more spark in there. It's sad to see that the team can't do much without Raheem and Sturridge available, especially with the latter being so injury prone.
ReplyDeletemissing sturridge, sterling and allen is a big blow
ReplyDeletenone of the players are on the same wavelength
i think we have lost even though there is 45mins to play
hopefully rodgers sticks to diamond and gets the players mentioned fit
thats not my job
ReplyDeletebut rafa would ahve put out a team that would win the game
and i miss him
Where is all the movement?
ReplyDeleteBring Lambert and Sterling in so we can play our unbeaten diamond. With two strikers in the box we are much more dangerous and will win this game!
If you think we are going to win or even get a goal with our current approach then it is going to end in tears ;-)
ReplyDeleteim a big fan of knee jerk jk it keeps things lively...bring on Lambert and sterling
ReplyDeleteYeah, he would have put Sakho at RB. Where were you when we won 3-0 last game?
ReplyDeleteIf Liverpool can't compete at Anfield without Sturridge and Sterling then there's a serious problem. BR spent over £100m to ensure that the squad is strengthened, so if the club is still relying only on Sturridge and Sterling, then that's a tacit admission that the transfer business is still not good enough.
ReplyDeleteToo many new faces introduced simultaneously. Hope Rodgers pulls of something in the 2nd half.
ReplyDeletevilla are shutting the door and we are locking in
ReplyDeleteYou're avoiding the question. You said "too many new players at once", so who would you have put instead of those players. You're an LFC supporter, you know their players right ?
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I found none of our first half inspiring.
ReplyDeleteit is not knee jerk
ReplyDeleteif you follow my posts you will see i have always been of the idea liverpools manager should have a lot of silverware
the only other big club that employ trophyless mangers is barcaloena but because of messi they get away with it
like rodgers maybe has with suarez
and games like this only strengthen my belief
Yes, because Liverpool never lost games and/or performed badly under Benitez.
ReplyDeletecome on jk you cant call 84m for sako, lovren ,lazer and llana bad buisness
ReplyDeleteMaybe, but it doesn't mean the tactics and formation are 'horribly wrong'. That's just gross exaggeration.
ReplyDeletei dont know thats a bit of a knee jerk reaction : -)
ReplyDeleteconsidering it normally takes players a couple of games to settle especially when the team changes so much
if we had sanchez we would ahve won the league
Massive mistake - still think we should not have gone for Falcoa boys ?? We must get Cotinho off A S A P - Been awful from the start - B R has a big dilema - Lambert or Borini will have to figure at some point but which one ?? Exactly - hope you now get the point - Sterling for Coutinho NOW
ReplyDeleteIt is knee-jerk, and with respect, it's embarrassing. You're basically calling for Rodgers to be replaced with Benitez. It's 4 games into the season after an amazing 2nd place finish last year. In my view, you need some perspective.
ReplyDeletethis kind of formation look too much like a last chance plan to me, if we can't even win agasint aston villa at Anfield with the kind of formation we're playing it prove that we just had a fluke last year.
ReplyDeleteIt did go horribly wrong. Villa are playing like the home team.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Ludengrets a brand of cough drops?
ReplyDeletethe only action i want borini to take is to sign the dotted line for another club...if we are relying on him the season i9s over before it has began
ReplyDeletebut rafa never got his tactics wrong
ReplyDeletehe just had a lot of bad luck with the owners making him use 3rd rate players
if he had the cash rodgers has had wow!
treble we would win
Borini and Raheem for me. Out coutinho and lallana.
ReplyDeleteprefer Flacao if i'm being honest...
ReplyDeleteVilla have to have the ball for us to press. They've not had enough possession for us to press.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand someone can be a hero today hope somebody shows some magic.
ReplyDeleteany way its looks like the jk tip of a draw or win at home for Liverpool is looking shaky ...any tips for the grand nash
ReplyDeleteFormation change. thank f***
ReplyDeleteYes Benitez did get his tactics wrong. Many times. You clearly didn't watch all of LFC's games during his time in charge. There were times when he had 8 defenders in the team (with Fabio Aurelio at DM); He played Peter Crouch on the left wing once; he got it totally wrong in the CL final first half against Milan. There are plenty of examples.
ReplyDeleteim sorry i embarrassed you
ReplyDeletesee i dont know yet how much of that 2nd place is due to suarez
last year we had the best player in the planet
so i will judge rodgers on post suarez and so far no good
You don't embarrass me, you embarrass yourself. You're entitled to your view though, as am I.
ReplyDeletewhats balotellis role ?
ReplyDeletehe keeps going wide
wide man
ReplyDeleteid bring Lambert on with sterling take laser and llana off ...the rough house tactics of villa actually suit the game of lambert
ReplyDeleteGerrard having no influence
ReplyDeleteno one is
ReplyDeletemost annoying linesman ever
ReplyDeleteis he from greater manchester as well
manquillo does not knwo how to attack
ReplyDeletethe anti glen johnson
Villa are just sitting back now. Why oh why Rodgers did we not take the game to Villa from the start? Frustrating!
ReplyDeletei told you he throws a curve ball
ReplyDeleteLessons learnt.
ReplyDeleteNO WAY BACK - COUTINHIO STILL ON - Jose Mo would have substituted him after 20 minutes
ReplyDeletereally ? doesn't seems like it to me, the exact same things happened last year.
ReplyDeleteWe just look like united, we have the ball but don't know what to do with it.
bring them both on lambert and borini we have nothing to lose
ReplyDeleteWhat a totally contemptible remark. Manquillo has made four or five mistakes this afternoon in situations in which I've never seen Johnson make a mistake. Stop this stupid scapegoating, it's idiotic.
ReplyDeleteCoutinho should have come off first, really hope there are points around the corner. Bleak showing at anfield, reminds me of villa last season, Lambert has Rodgers' number it would seem.
ReplyDelete17m for an attacking right back who has scored about 4 goals
ReplyDeleteWe've every chance of winning the game from here. You're underestimating how hard Villa have worked.
ReplyDeletebecause johnson wasn't even in position to commit them because he doesn't trac back...
ReplyDeleteWe do know what to do with the ball.
ReplyDeleteRodgers will not play Gerrard and Hendo as a holding midfield pair again. He learnt his lesson with pairing Gerrard and Lucas. Now he has learnt his lesson again.
good point about lambert he seems to have rogers worked out
ReplyDeleteMatch is over I am afraid. I was right. Formation and tactics from the first half gone horribly wrong...
ReplyDeleteim inclined to agree i think villa may snatch another ...poor display all round
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are following the spurs route, many buys, no cohesion between players. Hopefully we improve soon, would hate to see man u replace us in the top 4 (would rather any other team)
ReplyDeleteMust of been Sakho's fault. Ha ha, best defender by a mile today
ReplyDeleteAnd those who like to take stabs at Joe Allen. He would have been chasing down every player on the pitch. Humble pie has been served.
ReplyDeleterunning around without doing a tackle or getting assist/goals doen't do anything, and with him we would still have concede.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. Knew I would get this response.
ReplyDeletelovren and sako world beaters humble pie has been eaten
ReplyDeleteThey have had nothing to do since the first goal was conceded. Your comment is a bit moot.
ReplyDeletewell because it's true, honestly him running around would have change our poor defending on the conerner or have give the attack more edge or whatever ?
ReplyDeleteSo Allen just runs around? Cough cough.
ReplyDeletehaha the king of the circular argument mr logster....id assume the villa plan was to score and sit back and defend well as a plan its worked a treat for them
ReplyDeleteDid I not make the point that Rodgers threw the game away in the first half?
ReplyDeletewell he runs around and concedes free kicks
ReplyDeleteThis is goodbye from me !
ReplyDeleteI will miss you guys , i have decided to stop following football , after last season i can never get as much joy and now it feels pointless , i am better off focusing on more important things in life.
I wish all you guys the best of luck , just don't miss me too much.
codeman
Get over yourself. Allen would've made no difference whatsoever.
ReplyDeletei want it to work but if im honest im not convinced by either lovren or sako but we will have to persevere but Gerrard should be dropped he offers nothing
ReplyDeleteThe first goal was partly Sakho's fault. He gave away a needless corner.
ReplyDeleteyeah yeah he close on opposing playing leaving them with no space and forcing them to commit mistake or whatever people like to say, even with him we were overrun by southampton and it this match he had like 0 tackle 0 block 1 interception.
ReplyDeleteIn this match the problem wasn't our midfield our attack lacked movement in the final third and we concede from a stupid error.
I knew that would be your response!
ReplyDeletedont worry we wont hahah
ReplyDeleteWhat have they done wrong?
ReplyDeleteand lovren let senderos get on the ball... well he actually did that 3 times today and the score could have been worse.
ReplyDeletethe goal was down to sako
ReplyDeleteA true LFC fan never gives up on the team.
ReplyDeleteand lovren is over rated
ReplyDeleteProve it.
ReplyDeletegerrad offers no energy in attack or defence ///and the cbs look shakey and unorganised
ReplyDeleteWhat did Lovren and Sakho do wrong?
ReplyDeleteStill dont want Falcoa boys ??
ReplyDeletei'm starting to understand why french media were skeptical when we brought him...
ReplyDeletethe burden of proof is on the initial statement i just made a counter claim
ReplyDeletenope still prefer Flacao
ReplyDeleteToo costly. Not worth it.
ReplyDeleteMr Rodgers, take the blame my friend.
ReplyDeleteKOP knows now we are NO HOPERS this season
ReplyDeleteRoy, I hope you are happy. You have succeeded.
ReplyDeleteYou know yourself this ain't true...
ReplyDeleteLosing is part of the game. It feels bad but that's life.
Yeah, he got it wrong today and the jaded players didn't help
ReplyDeleteYou have proven nothing. Provide examples.
ReplyDeletewell played villa once again Liverpool have fell into the trap of playing a weaker team when the reality is that for us to win our home games we need a full strength team out ,,,poor tactics from the off invited early pressure and the non roll of Gerrard for me is causing massive gaps in midfield .....
ReplyDeletenot acceptable to loose against aston villa at home... don't care about the "in the PL wanything can happen" excuse, that was just a pitiful performance.
ReplyDeleteReally angry at how we conceded at this level it can't happen.
Game of three things
ReplyDelete1- Mistakes- Brendan made 2. He did not play Sterling and when he brought Sterling, he took off Balo who was hands down our best player.
2- Injuries- My sincere thanks to Roy for that one
3- Villa have some formula to beat Liverpool it seems and we always seem stifled. We did not show any urgency.
Villa did exactly what Chelsea did to us last season.
ReplyDeleteYou are supoposed to be able to defend those.
ReplyDeleteFalcoa, Falcao, Facoal .. none of them would have made any difference. The inevitable remark of if Suarez was here, things would be better is rubbsih. How can you score when you do not create chances..
ReplyDeleteYup and every team is now going to do that. We have to now figure out how to beat it.
ReplyDeleteFinally something i can agree with you.
ReplyDeleteRodgers just doesn't learn.
if we can't win without Sturridge and Sterling against villa at home then there's something wrong.
ReplyDeletefor a start Allen offers little in way if goals or assists and seeing how the goal conceded was down to your mr Eiffel tower or mr awful tower im not sure how the game would have changed
ReplyDeleteThe issue is not conceding the goal. Chelsea conceded, City conceded, Arsenal conceded. We have to have the cutting edge and that will only come with two strikers IMO. We have to play as a team and the ethic from last year was lacking. I am all right with not doing well this season as this is a transitional one where the team builds up its unity and plays as a single unit.
ReplyDeleteAnfiwld index have his pressing stats only bettered by Henderson. That proves Loan's statement of him chasing down the opposition. As for giving away loads of free kicks? That doesn't sound right at all. Allen was missed today. Continho did very little and when losing the ball broke down attacks. Surprised Ball has not been criticised more. Barely any movement especially the first half.
ReplyDeleteSo why was Lambert brought in everyone knew this was going to happen, I mean Keane is the assistant right.
ReplyDeleteYes oh he presses so does my missus with the iron and she doesnt get paid and is better at it.
ReplyDeleteSee, this is the mentality that leads to losses. It's just Villa, how hard can it be. In the end, the Villa game counts for the same number of points as the Man City game. The squad is not together enough yet to start squad rotation. Brendan underestimated Villa and it paid similar to the game against Hull last season. The team was on a high and he changed it. A simple change of Lallana for Allen and Sterling as striker would have been much better.
ReplyDeleteWell Sterling came in and didn't make a huge difference did he?
ReplyDeleteThere are so many new players it will take some time. I predicted this and results like this will be part of our season.
The positive thing is that only Chelsea is on a run. All the other big teams have max 1 point more than we do.
We can still win the next six games if we can learn from this loss. And I believe we will.
No proof of your claims.
ReplyDeleteWhat did Sakho and Lovren do wrong?
ReplyDeleteOne word: TOOTHLESS
ReplyDeleteLovren was immense IMO. The attack let us down this game.. The same scapegoats cannot be taken. We have to play our best team.
ReplyDeletehahah don't worry Greg im just having a bit of fun with old loggy to take my mind off the abject performance
ReplyDeletePlease do not say that otherwise the inevitable Suarez chants will start again.
ReplyDeleteThe champions lost to Stoke. These things happen especially when bringing new and not fully fit players on to the team. Rodgers underestimated the opposition. We saw it last year too. We can bounce back.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can convince me otherwise looking back at our first half performance then please do so now.
ReplyDeletePlease Rodgers. Scrap the idea of two holding midfielders.
Would that first sentence have one of our posts blocked?
ReplyDelete18 shots 1 one on target didnt score the fortune we spent on attacking talent need to pull their socks up cant win if you cant score.
ReplyDeletehe will persist with it as rogers wont drop Gerrard but obviously doesn't trust him as last man on his own ,,,
ReplyDeleteWe killed Spurs with Gerrard as the pivot. Try again.
ReplyDeleteOne shot on target in the first half and 3 off target. Pitiful.
ReplyDeletePoor today. Thought Mario was a passenger. All the Sturridge doubters... How much did we miss him today. And dare I say, joe Allen?
ReplyDeleteI thought Mario was our best player to be fair. He always kept the ball and created an attack.
ReplyDeleteThe proof of the claim that 'Allen offers very little in the way of goals/assists' is the fact that Allen offers very little in the way of goals and assists. Why don't you stop trying to antagonise, get off your high horse, and engage in constructive debate?
ReplyDeleteNo way. No movement whatsoever. Thought hendo was our best player first half. Coutinho got better second half. Balotelli never once looked a threat
ReplyDeleteLallana and Markovic for 45 mill does not look good at the moment and in my eyes never did.
ReplyDeleteEach to their own. I thought Coutinho was woeful today. He looks a shadow of his pre season form and scared to do anything. I expected more from Markoivc and wanted him to run at the defenders but sadly he was not able to do it.
ReplyDeleteLovren's marking of Senderos was worrying for that goal. Sakho maybe shouldn't have given the corner away but was under a lot of pressure from Agbo
ReplyDeleteWhat is Allen's purpose?
ReplyDeleteSeriously though is this not sniping? I got banned for no more.
ReplyDeleteSakho could have not given the corner and Lovren let Senderos get ahead of him.
ReplyDeleteI think at his best Markovic is all show and little substance doesnt have a great number of goals or assists per game yet is highly rated i think we got ripped off.
ReplyDeleteI think now everyone realizes that it is important to have a core of players and then add to that with some signings and the only team successfully able to do that is Chelsea. We have the core but we have abandoned it. I hate to say it but it is not the Suarez's and Falcao's of the world that win you the league, it is the Joe Allen's and Jordan Henderson's and we have to learn that.
ReplyDeleteYou make more replies to Logan than any other poster .... are you stalking him :-)
ReplyDeleteDont put winning down to any one group of players eg defenders etc but we didnt get 1 goal today and i doubt Allen would have changed that.
ReplyDeleteI did not see the loss coming, but I saw A Villa causing us problems again due to the fact the do not let S Gerrard(34) have any time or space on ball and then on the counter they use their energy, mobility and pace to full effect.
ReplyDeleteAgainst the best sides, we will struggle if B Rodgers does not get the balls to drop S Gerrard(34) as mobile, pacey, quick and youthful sides will expose his lack of energy, legs, mobility and pace.
L Markovic(20) looks like a good class player, but he rarely went past A Cissokho(27) on the outside. And it now makes you wonder why B Rodgers spent £20M on L Markovic(20) when he should have added another £7-£9M and brought in M Reus(25) Of B Dortmund.
Without Sterling(19) and Sturridge(25) in side we look pedestrian and no other player wants to stretch the oppositions back 4.
I Hope B Rodgers is taking note, A Villa are now our bogey team at home. We have not beat them at Anfield in last 4 outings.
B Rodgers needs to ship out F Borini(23) in January as when he came on what did he actually offer as usual, Nothing whatsoever.
The problems are for every one to see:
Our GK is just an amazing shot stopper, the team and back 4 do not have any trust in him and he is a shambles at corners , whilst his distribution is woeful to say the least.
S Gerrard(34) has been an amazing class quality servant to club but he needs to be played from the bench.
A Mobile tough tackling DM is needed as when teams break on us with pace and speed we look vulnerable as we do not have a class quality mobile tough tackling Enforcer in front of back 4.
With Sterling(19) and Sturridge(25) off the pitch team lack mobility, pace and speed to stretch opposition defences.
I mean that each great team has a dependable unsung hero in their team whose value you only realize when they are not there. Chelsea have Matic, City have Fernandinho. We need those kind of grafters in our team to do well.
ReplyDeleteYeah i know what your saying Sid and you are right i am just gutted about how weak the new attacking talent seems i didn't like Lallana or Markovic signings to start with but you still want them to succeed.
ReplyDeleteI believe they will succeed with time but you cannot chuck all of them in at once and expect great results. Remember, most of these guys are strangers to each other. We have to go with our tried and trusted lot of players and only when required, bring on the rest. Ease them into our team. Only three players in recent memory have had an immediate impact and those our Studge, Coutinho and Suarez and Suarez too was eased into the team.
ReplyDeleteYeah too many too soon but i will say i have grave doubts on Markovics ability to truly succeed but time will tell.
ReplyDeleteTeam for Ludogoretes
ReplyDeleteMignolet
Manquillo-Lovren-Sakho-Moreno
Gerrard
Hendo-Allen(if fit)
Sterling
Balotelli-Lambert
If Rues could have been bought for that price he would have been. If not by us by someone else. You can't just by whoever you want for however much you want. It is silly to think otherwise. Please let that drop. Please.
ReplyDeleteWe looked better with Sterling when he came on. Before that it was all huff and puff without any end result. I hear many already saying that we are a one man team.
ReplyDeleteas a qpr fan of 40 years in MYopinion he shouldnt be aloud to play football at any level because if his thuggish behaviour on but more off pitch and all sports people should be banned from posting any twitter /type sites on there own sport it should be in there contracts
ReplyDeleteI've really never heard such rubbish...
ReplyDeleteJK heard a bunch of accusations about you man... care to clear it all up?
ReplyDeleteyou should be small team fan.
ReplyDelete
