  1. good line up...hope they get the job done!

  2. WBA playing at a very slow place, sitting back and trying to absorb the pressure. Only a matter of time before something gives.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Not the most exciting of games is it? Still, I couldn't really care less as long as we get the points.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Not to mention dull as a doorknob

    ReplyDelete
  5. yacob looks like he's going to get sent off

    ReplyDelete
  6. Terrible pitch though. I think try to just come away with the three points, as you say, is fine.

    ReplyDelete
  7. did u see the calm down he did when mingolet was rushing to do the goal kick haha love this guy

    ReplyDelete
  8. absolutely awful pitch. Ball is bouncing up everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Bit boring but some interesting points. !. All the calls for a DM well it seems we already had him Stevie is growing into the position and looking better game by game. 2 more seasons now playing DM. 2 Need a fullback well Cissokho has finally pulled his finger out and will do until injuries are healed. 3. Glen Johnson: thanks for the memories goodbye son Flanno looks good and plenty of backup that position. 4. Transfer debacle who cares we already have a great squad....YNWA roll on the second half kick on lads..

    ReplyDelete
  10. Not a high line? The goal was scored on about as low a line as a team can produce. I think those two can score from anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  11. We are totally in control, it looks too easy. But I'm never happy at 1-0. My heart just won't take it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. It may work to some extent but what works better IMO is a real DM in there with Gerrard partnering someone in midfield.

Coutinho doesn't have what it takes to play central (yet). Good players in this position like Ozil for example, have the ability to freeze time, compose themselves and pick the best pass. Instead Coutinho and Suarez are trying 1st time passes all the time and Coutinho hasn't had much space to turn. To control things far better I'd like to see Allen come on soon.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Raheem turning into class and only 19 !

    ReplyDelete
  14. Giving the ball away way too cheaply.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Coutinho playing like its a friendly. Get him off. With our back four I'm getting concerned. Great save by Mignolet, two of them actually.

    ReplyDelete
  16. SOMEONE ACTUALLY PREDICTED A TOURE *** UP

    ReplyDelete
  17. i sensed a big f*** up as soon as mignolet did that stupid pass to toure.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I should have bet money on that, now here comes 2 more from LFC

    ReplyDelete
  19. faaaaaarouuuuuuuuuuut toure. it was still a horrible idea from mignolet.

    ReplyDelete
  20. why doesn't the lad actually just for once stop, and f**king look up.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is Lawro's fault...

    ReplyDelete
  22. I still don't know why he predicted 1-1. No one knew Liverpool would be this ordinary. Lawrenson just sounds miserable.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Philippe (absent whole second half) off Alberto on come on...Sometimes I think BR is a deer in headlights. Martin Kelly aint gonna win the game for us.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jacob f**king deserved it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. you jinxed us, dickhead!

    ReplyDelete
  26. WTF? LFC need a goal, so Rodgers takes off Coutinho and brings on Allen? Hopefully it's a gamble that will work.

    ReplyDelete
  27. To be fair to Rodgers, Coutinho's been playing like crap.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He can create a goal out of nothing. Allen can't. Sturridge has been anonymous for most of the game, but he still came up with a goal.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We needed more running in midfield to counter West Brom. Was either Coutinho or Sterling to go; Sterling has been brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  30. OH MY GOD, JUST FINISH THEM OFF.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Coutinho doesn't look like he can create anything at the moment. I think it's a fair decision. Presumably Henderson can push forward a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  32. tino doesn't know when to pass hes like a kid on the park

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm sorry, but how is that a yellow?

    ReplyDelete
  34. No look life in us today, let's be happy with the point, if we can hold on to it that is.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Can clearly see why toure is a squad player, hope our regular CB's are back soon. Coutinho was poor today.....hopefully allen can come in for Arsenal game and push gerrard fwd. Coutinho should be on the bench now for a few games.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why so over the top? Coutinho is a really good player who makes all kinds of things possible on the pitch that few players are capable of. Whether or not he makes or scores a goal, he is an important player for us and his movement is fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  37. regardless of the result i think sterling has been superb

    ReplyDelete
  38. Is this the same team that stuffed the toffees

    ReplyDelete
  39. well said tinos agent

    ReplyDelete
  40. After all the furore over Gerrard switching to DM, why would Rodgers then push him forward?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Cissokho was good today as well. Wasn't sure I was ever going to get to say that, but he attacked fairly well and defended very well and I can't really fault him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. tino couldnt create an omlette with an egg

    ReplyDelete
  43. We are away from home and trying to play within ourselves to some extent. That's how it goes. Still a point away, not the worst result if that's how it stays.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Our best player today by a mile.

    ReplyDelete
  45. God, Kelly is nightmare. Done nothing but give the ball away, misplace passes, and give away sill free kicks since he came on.

    ReplyDelete
  46. mingos distribution is shocking

    ReplyDelete
  47. BR is the worst team member today. We need a goal and his answer is Kelly ?????? Coutinho good in the first half is absent in the 2nd what is going on Alberto was the obvious substitution. I need to go to my doctor and get some medication this is unfathomable substitution management.

    ReplyDelete
  48. thats a strange one unless flanno was injured ...absolutely pointless he may as well have changed the goalie

    ReplyDelete
  49. THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. F*** OFF TOURE. F*** OFF COUTINHO.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Like we needed him Alberto for Coutinho was the sub should have been made. Pointless having these guys on the bench if you won't use them.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Exactly what I've argued all season. What is the fecking point of spending £7m on Alberto if he's never used?

    ReplyDelete
  52. As an Uruguayan.... I am sad to say this but with Diego Lugano out on the pitch it should be easy to score at least one more.

This guy has become so bad and such a liability that everyone in the country wants him not only out of the starting team but not even on the bench. He has become that much of a liability and the NT coach...who is great at In game tactics but become so obtuse in selecting newer players...... cannot see it and seems to be the only one.

This is when you would like the extra help from a Transfer In to help ...but really.... This WB defense is bad all around and this is what you get.

A complete waste of an opportunity and time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. there absence speaks volumes for there ability....15m wasted an albo ans aspas

    ReplyDelete
  54. Leave Toure alone Mignolet caused that. And again its the fault of BR with the policy of playing from the back with a keeper who clearly isn't up to that kind of game. That was Pepe's game.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 2 badly dropped points. We really needed them since the way we are playing it will be hard to pick up points affairs the top 3, still have faith on 4th. Let's go LFC :-)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I know, but toure's been awful, and he just had to clear the ball. brain snap.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Slow hand clap for Toure. Having said that, the first half performance from pretty much everybody bar Sterling was shockingly pedestrian. With Spurs and Utd dropping points ysterday, this was a good opportunity to get some distance between them, especially with Arsenal up next. Frustrating in the extreme.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well....there's my Sunday ruined...only positive thing I have to say is Sterling was brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I really cannot contain my anger at the moment. The whole day I've been excited for this match, for the opporunity to get 9 points clear of Utd, to continue on from Everton. But for some whatever reason, they decided not to show up. Astounding.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Gerrard is better game by game in his new position no way they are going to change that.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Disappointing performance. Toure cost us 2 points.

One point better than nothing though and we are still fourth. Bring on Arsenal!

    ReplyDelete
  62. You could see that mistake coming from Toure because he lost the ball 3 times prior to that due to no midfield options. At the same time, either Mignolet or Toure could of just cleared it. They should know better.

The subs (Allen and Kelly) which were planned to hold onto the 1-0 lead, particularly Allen, were the same changes made when it was 1-1 and when we should of gone for the win. Highlights the usefulness or lack thereof of Aspas and Alberto.

Wouldn't say 2 points dropped because we never deserved to win.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Is jamie K the ONLY one who has the balls to question why Rodgers buys these guys and doe snot use them ....when they are clearly needed?

Does anyone in the press question this.... the Ex-Players who seem to always have an opinion about something?

Get your heads out of your asses guys...... you had a chance to break away from Everton. This is what you pull out?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I am thinking he was limiting Flankos minutes due to injury

    ReplyDelete
  65. Alberto should have been

    ReplyDelete
  66. Toure needs to be dropped now....his pass at the end to no one sums him up. WHYWHYWHY do our defence keep doing this and costs us points!! Before it was our keeper and now toure looks like a sunday league player. Have to agree with many sterling looks dangerous every game.

    ReplyDelete
  67. ok i correct myself i hate toure release him from his contract now

    ReplyDelete
  68. Does anyone know a Utd fan I can punch in the head at the moment?

    ReplyDelete
  69. You can hardly blame Mignolet for a player of Kolos experience to play a square ball across the back four, nightmare pass.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I don't blame Toure; Steven Gerrard has done that three times in his career and cost LFC goals. One-pff mistakes like that happen. Mignolet played him into pressure, which forced the error.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Stupid strategy with this terrible WB defense.... I mean they are a bad defensive group, especially with Lugano back there.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Mignolets fault I agree

    ReplyDelete
  73. the only twp players deserving of praise are sterling ...and cissoko i say cissoko because hes raised his game from below average to average so its a step up ...the defence was shakey all game ..the midfield was lacking and our attack was stop start

    ReplyDelete
  74. We signed someone with Toure's experience to avoid those kind of mistakes. Yet that's exactly what he does

    ReplyDelete
  75. They're both at fault. Toure's experienced enough to know that all he has to do is bloody clear it anywhere. But yes, it was a horrible pass from Mignolet.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I suppose we have to give some credit to West Brom for nullifying our attack for the majority of the game, and having a go themselves. But we really never got started.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah but clearly toure is not a automatic starter....when he has the ball you feel nervous.

    ReplyDelete
  78. He's always been prone to the occasional moment of madness, no? We knew that when we signed him.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Like I said before, Toure should definitely know better than to do that. Everyone is taught from a young age never to pass across goal in those situations.

    ReplyDelete
  80. 5 points from villa at home, everton & wba is pretty poor considering we won the hardest of those 3 games comfortably, almost seems a defensive mistake is to be expected practically every game. For everton to immediately claw back 2 points after the smashing we gave them has put a downer on today but were still up there with another fixture crossed off .

    ReplyDelete
  81. Winning this game was absolutely vital. We needed to create a cushion before our very tough match against Arsenal.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Pepe aint got a job at Barca anymore so bring him home and lets have some real competition for that position. Not saying that Mignolet is rubbish just want to see competition between 2 great keepers. Can only be good for the club. IMO the West Brom goal is down to Mignolet's poor decision making.

    ReplyDelete
  83. It does make me wonder why Alberto isn't used. Its not like we have a long conveyor belt of options like Chelsea or Man City do!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Nothing wrong with Alberto I'm sure he will be a star for his next club.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Exactly, in a situation like that you have a few options, boot it clear or pass back to the keeper, but you sure as hell don't do that.

    ReplyDelete
  86. killed me I'm gonna steal my mothers valium

    ReplyDelete
  87. I was angry at the fact we had a couple of fantastic opporutnities through Suarez and Sturridge in the second half. It might not stay like that because we have fecking Arsenal next week.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm not sure why you think we would of just walked this match. I said previously we would beat Everton and it would just paper over the cracks. It's typical of Liverpool to lose or drop points in such games, we lost the title under Benitez because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I am starting to wonder whether there are issues between BR and Alberto,Aspas.

Aspas' absence I can understand as he just does not seem to be good enough but Alberto has shown promise.

Guess we will find out in the next transfer window.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Get real, you can't have a keeper on the bench earning over 100k a week.

    ReplyDelete
  91. New chant for Kolo

    ReplyDelete
  92. Totally agree, especially when his heart is not in it either.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Guess the image didn't make it

    ReplyDelete
  94. Just heard that according to Opta lfc have made more defensive mistakes leading to goals, come on lads , sort it out!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Shame as Migno pulled out 2 brill saves or else it cld have been worse score line ! It would be better if he just punted it up field every time ...

    ReplyDelete
  96. What I don't get is how they could press so well against Everton, and then abandon that for this game? Same team, but this time they sit back. passing was awful - some strange decision making. What was with that freekick just before the half? Wasted opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  97. With Mignolet making the most mistakes leading to goals. Today wasn't 100% his fualt, but that throw was bad, it could have been intercepted even before it made it to Kolo.

Who was the witchdoctor that predicted him to make an error????

    ReplyDelete
  98. Who knows. Pepe still seemed absolutely stoked when we beat Everton, judging by Twitter...

    ReplyDelete
  99. Gutted two points lost ,defensive mistake again responsible for the dropped points. When will we realise that we do not always have to play from the back ,Mignolet has to shoulder the majority of the blame for that mistake by Toure .

    ReplyDelete
  100. Haha, I know how you feel. We just need sakho back and kolo on the bench.

    ReplyDelete
  101. It s the 'C' word CONSISTENCY - going to cost us

    ReplyDelete
  102. Poor choice by SM to go to Toure,,,but it was Toure who broke a rule of thumb taught to any 6 year old by passing the ball across his goal mouth. In the end we had plenty of chances to be up by more than one that were left empty. Sterling and Coutinho STILL need to develop better decision-making skills at their final touch. Hendo's passing decisions were lacking too.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Shoulder the blame for Toure's utter stupidity?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Jaimie Sturridge didn't look 100 % to me or he is just not his usual self nor ,or for that matter neither did Suarez it just isn't like Suarez to miss 1 on 1's.Credit to West Brom they were defensively compact at most times in the match.

    ReplyDelete
  105. AndWithSuchSimplicity3:52 pm, February 02, 2014

    My drive.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Sterling played like the only man out there.

    ReplyDelete
  107. It's not like Toure received a bobbling, bouncing ball coming at him 100 mph about 2 metres to his right. Sure, Mignolet shoulders some blame for the horrible idea of passing to a player under pressure, but it doesn't excuse Toure's brain snap..

    ReplyDelete
  108. Please god let Man C thrash Chelsea tmrw. I've always disliked Chelsea but now I truly hate them with that shyte Mourinho we didn't need him back in the EPl. Wish he had gone to Russia.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Really, how many times did players just sit there watching the ball expecting someone else to get it??? Coutinho on a couple of occasions, but elsewhere. Bummer, but still 4th, but this should have been a big win.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I'm at P. Sherman 42 Wallaby way Sydney.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Why the hell does Mourinho have a Russian kind of accent? Or do all Portuguese sound a bit like Russians?

    ReplyDelete
  112. For some reason portuguese/ brazilians sound a little like russians. Something about the type of sounds thy make in their language.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Russian DNA by impregnation :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. Both players will leave the club in the next window. Aspas will be sold and Alberto loaned out.

Alberto looked pretty good off the bench last week. I reckon he is more limited than we imagine though and can't play centre midfield. His only position it seems is the 10 role. Not even an option out wide? Either that or he is constantly overlooked due to his inexperience.

I don't think either player would of made a difference today - and that is the issue.

    ReplyDelete
  115. surprised me as well :)

    ReplyDelete
  116. Can't get pregnant up that orifice.

    ReplyDelete
  117. We need Sakho back!

    ReplyDelete
  118. He speaks with the tongue at the back of his throat like a Russian

    ReplyDelete
  119. And Agger. Seriously hoping we get too see these two as a CB partnership!

    ReplyDelete
  120. bit over the top. It was only one error man. Lot of the guys had good games....Gerrard, Cissokho, Flanno, Sturridge, Suarez etc...one moment of madness...

    ReplyDelete
  121. AndWithSuchSimplicity3:58 pm, February 02, 2014

You could see that happening a fncking mile off.

Liverpool seemed content with the 1-0 lead and were fannying around at the back to see it out til half time. They nearly got caught twice doing it, but sometimes prove what a bunch of stupid fnckers they really are, by not learning their lesson.

I'm sure Suarez is injured. He walked through much of the Villa game and seemed at half-pace again today. Don't blame him for the miss either - it was genius to create the chance in the first place. Just a very, very good save.

Nothing's changed in 24 years. Whenever we get the chance to create a gap between ourselves and our closest rivals, we don't have the mental toughness to see it through.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Flannagan's substitution baffles me ??

    ReplyDelete
  123. Especially when Lugano got put on the pitch.

I know I am going for the beat a dead horse award....but we both know as Uruguayans that Lugano is finished .....except teams still think it is 2007-10.....and Tabarez keeps him around like the son he never had and has too much loyalty to him.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Yeh and only nnnnnnnnnnnnnineteen

    ReplyDelete
  125. The next transfer window will give us all the answers we need.

    ReplyDelete
  126. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:00 pm, February 02, 2014

I think Cissokho is starting to benefit from regular games. He had a couple of great runs first half - not sure why there was only ever ONE man in the box to pick out, though.
    Flanno solid as ever.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I remember you used to target Skrtel, those mistakes have been completely eradicated out of his game. I defended him saying it was Rodgers' system. You also demanded a Sakho-Toure partnership, I guess Toure is out of the picture for you now?

    ReplyDelete
  128. And subbed ? Only hope not thro injury

    ReplyDelete
  129. He's too slow - but has had a couple of good games lately - so as you know Tabarez won't let him go, so lets hope he does well. I'd rather Britos, but I'm not the coach.

    ReplyDelete
  130. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:02 pm, February 02, 2014

The last brazilian i saw didn't speak at all.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I realise some of the others had OK games, my point was to highlight just how well Sterling played. He's really come on this season; most impressive when you consider he's still just a kid. The team performance in general was lethargic.

    ReplyDelete
  132. SM didn't make the beautiful pass to Anichebe...Toure did.

    ReplyDelete
  133. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:03 pm, February 02, 2014

I think they're easing him back. Maybe conscious how important he is at the minute, so don't want to risk another long term injury?

    ReplyDelete
  134. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:05 pm, February 02, 2014

The most impressive thing about Sterling is the way he refuses to be muscled off the ball and fights to win it back if he gives it away.
Coutinho could learn a lot from him. He only seems to play for 35-40 mins - especially away from home.

    ReplyDelete
  135. BR just explaining things - bad pitch ! So there you have it guys

    ReplyDelete
  136. We still have a fantastic goal difference which could be worth a point, there will be the usual twists & turns but efc, Man U & spurs will drop points too, none of them strike me as capable of going on a long winning streak. At least we didn't implode after their equaliser, all in all, we're still looking good for a great shot at fourth

    ReplyDelete
  137. No, where did I say Toure is out of the picture?

Skrtel still not my cup of tea but he is playing quite well.

    ReplyDelete
  138. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:06 pm, February 02, 2014

    So change the tactics then..........

    ReplyDelete
  139. I disagree. Surely if you're under pressure you simply pump it out not keep in in your area with strikers lurking? Toure did a big clearance in the first half and seemed to get moaned at. Wonder if that was on his mind.

Mignolet's distribution is poor though. Defense probably lacks confidence passing to him. Although doesnt seem to stop them giving him hospital passes

    ReplyDelete
  140. I think a greater 'mental toughness' is something we are starting to see much more of with this Liverpool team, so I think you're probably being a bit harsh. And let's not forget where we were at this point last season.

    ReplyDelete
  141. He was horrible the last game.....I mean like a disaster. He scored one goal the previous game but was responsible for letting one in...and is pretty much responsible for one goal a game allowed by his defensive positioning...let alone the speed he never really had and the now bad tackling.

I agree he will not.... way too loyal to his guys.

I like Rolin more, as Britos has fallen out of favor with Rafa.

Just bring in competition. Kagelmacher..... Rolin.... even Gonzalez at Hellas Verona was playing well.

I do love Tabarez for what he has done from the youth up to rebuild....but he gets anal about who he picks for the team. He favors holding MF 100 times over any creative types....waste of Cavani and Suarez if he does not get them help.

    ReplyDelete
  142. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:07 pm, February 02, 2014

Who gave me a Vote Down????!!!!

Everything I just said is factually correct. Like it or not, but it is true.

    ReplyDelete
  143. no excuses it was West Brom

    ReplyDelete
  144. yeah the pitch had some issues ,but that's not the main reason we dropped points

    ReplyDelete
  145. Errrrrrrr not sure how we do that

    ReplyDelete
  146. I think WBA was playing on the same pitch weren't they?

    ReplyDelete
  147. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:10 pm, February 02, 2014

But by the same token, we should not forget where we ARE NOW. And also the team West Brom have morphed into over the last 12 months.....
I don't mind drawing if we gave it a right go and their keeper was MOM, but we strolled through that and gifted them a point.
    That's hard to take.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Agreed, like it was hull & stoke for spurs & the mancs yesterday, just saying our rivals will slip up too

    ReplyDelete
  149. Can't say I disagree too much. But when it comes to tournaments we tend to excel. Maybe Lugano can join as coach - he does thing running with his hands behind his back - terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  150. You can blame him for the goal without blaming him for the draw. His mental error caused the goal, but we had plenty of opportunity to make his error not matter.

    ReplyDelete
  151. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:12 pm, February 02, 2014

By not fucking about at the back so much, maybe?? It only needed one bobble first half and we could have got caught a few times playing our "lovely" triangles.

    ReplyDelete
  152. They hammered us 3-0 last season. Just like L4red said, at least we did not implode.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Putting him under unnecessary pressure is what i meant ,we all understand the philosophy of playing from the back but sometimes you just keep your mate under undue pressure when he could clearly see there were players around Kolo who could do that.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Ha, ha, I was thinking Jose got it "roman" style :)

    ReplyDelete
  155. absolutely ,maybe he' just trying to deflect some responsibility

    ReplyDelete
  156. AndWithSuchSimplicity4:21 pm, February 02, 2014

    Mystic Mike :(

    ReplyDelete
  157. I've been reluctant to get on the transfer waste of money band wagon. But Jaimie is absolutely right. If BR won't use these guys then they become a waste of money regardless of their talent. Jamie's criticism of BR is well founded this is nonsense. The treatment of Alberto is outrageous. The others are getting a chance to prove their worth. Aspas was a clear mistake no worth to LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I'm liking the optimism ;)

    ReplyDelete
  159. It may sound a bit silly but to me the points were dropped in the first half. West Brom were so poor in the opening 45 mins, and we failed to take proper advantage. A solitary goal is never enough.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Arsenal are playing like crap too.

    ReplyDelete
  161. i have also wanted to see Alberto given more chances and a bit confused as to why he has played as little as he has.

It is easy to just throw daggers at BR though. There could be many reasons why Aspas and Alberto are not getting playing time.

One of them could be how much they put in on the training pitch and it does not stop there.

if Alberto is still here next season then that should give us an indication that he may have future at the club. Aspas clearly does not.

    No. You're dead right.
Which is why I'm asking why we sit back after we score? And why we're happy to knock it about with our silly little triangles at the back.
Three times Cissokho bombed down the left and there was only ONE player in the box to pick out. If he's managed to get all the way up the pitch from left back, you'd think someone from midfield could maybe be arsed to get up there and help him.

  163. Do you suppose Lawrenson is somewhere gloating about being right?

Which only serves to rub in another wasted chance by the Mighty Reds :(

  165. We'll play better against Arsenal, and we're at home. Can't wait! Enjoyed you losing it at the end of the game by the way, pretty classic stuff!

  166. Hehe. Hang on a sec, think the girls have got my cocktail ready and it sounds like my money-bath is nice and warm. Back soon.

  167. Arsenal (in the cup as well as the league), Chelsea, and Tottenham also only managed draws at West Brom this season. Only Man City (2-3) managed to get a win there. West Brom also did Man Utd 2-3 at Old Trafford. They aren't a bad team and it's a difficult place to get a result.

We should never stop demanding the highest standards of our players, but overall this wasn't a bad result.

The key games for us are the home matches against the other top sides. Let's judge the guys on them. If we play badly, I'll change my tune -- which of course is a bit too positive for some here. But I don't think we will. I'm sure we can beat Arsenal by the odd goal in three or five. Can't wait!

  168. Because we're generally better against smaller clubs this season, and West Brom had no target man up front today to create opportunities. They needed to rely on a defensive f*** up and that's what happened.

  169. Kinda think Mignolet may be the one on the bench if Pepe gets back some of his old form. As for him being despondent I don't think so I'm sure his preference would be LFC now Barca is out of the picture.

  170. Your positivity has lightened up my dad. Like a 'lasers' beam.
And yes, I'm strung extremely highly when Liverpool play.

  171. Anyway. If we played like this last season, it would have ended 2-1. This result is only particularly annoying because we failed to establish an extensive advantage over the 3 teams below us. Good news is we're still outright in front for the top 4. Good news also is that spurs' and utd's dropped points in a sense cancel out our own disappointment against WBA.
Onwards and upwards. Bring on the Gunners.
