'There is interest' - LFC chase exciting €3m prodigy Neymar called a 'great player'.

Liverpool are reportedly one of a whole raft of Premier League clubs - including Chelsea and Arsenal - chasing 17-year old Brazilian starlet Victor Andrade, who currently plays for Santos.

According to Sky Sports today:

"Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle...are monitoring the situation of Brazilian starlet Victor Andrade.

"He has already been labelled the new 'Neymar' having made his debut for the club aged just 16".

Through his Portuguese parentage, Andrade qualifies for an EU passport, which means that he doesn't require a work permit to play in the Premier League. Earlier today, a spokesman for Andrade told reporters:

"We can confirm that there is interest in England in Victor from some of the bigger clubs. He is a wonderful talent, but his future will be resolved at the right time, in the right way."

In a recent interview, Andrade - the godson of Brazilian star Robinho - confirmed his desire to play in Europe. he told The Mirrir:

"I would love to play in Europe. It is a very exciting prospect for me, and I believe that moving to Europe will help my all-round game. I have no problem with Santos, but I think the time is right for me to experience a change."

Andrade's contract runs out at the end of the season, and according to The Mirror, he is available for a development fee of only £2.5 million.

Santos coach Muricy Ramalho and Barcelona new-boy Neymar believe that Andrade has a great future ahead of him. After scoring during his debut season, Ramalho enthused:

"The boy [Andrade] is very fast, and [brings] depth to our attack. It was a beautiful goal. He deserves it.

Neymar added:

"He showed that he has plenty of talent and is going to be a great player."

Liverpool seem to be bursting at the seams with teenage talent these days, and it's debatable if the club needs yet another young, developing attacking midfielder.

However, I'm firmly of the view that you can never have enough skilful Brazilians in the squad, so bring it on :-)

  1. How about we get rid of Suarez and buying L Damiao? He is a skilful Brazilian too!

  2. If he's got the talent get him in..you can never have too many good players.

    ReplyDelete
  3. totally agree and they do not want paying

    ReplyDelete
  4. We're stacked with quality at all age levels and now the hard work of scouting and developing young talents are beginning to bear fruit.STERLING and IBE if pre-season is anything to go by will both have parts to play as impact players this season.
I know nothing about the this kid but if he's cheap and super talented get him in.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Obviously they do but the £80k a week on Downing could be used to pay an actual *quality* player....couldn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  6. or we could just waste it on ten players who will never play for the club

    ReplyDelete
  7. one for the future to add to the list, but it is good to get them, even though right now we are all more interested in the first team.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Off topic but can't believe what a pal told me that some lfc fans voted Suarez 2 places above barnesey in a best lfc player poll, absolute boll*x, it must have had a high number of young fans for a poll like that to come up with that result

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yep, totally agree. Absolute disgrace.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I thought Neymar was the Brazilian Neymar?

    ReplyDelete
  11. JOHN BARNES is my best LFC player of all time!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well I'd rather see it spent on young hungry players who want to make then some player who is desperately trying to hold onto his wage and status playing for a 'big club',all while terrible out of his depth. The 'rumoured' fee of £5m for Downing. The potential loss of £15m.A 75% loss.Yes certainly his wages are well spent on him.

So we've agreed personal terms with cissokho he told French media, but we want him on loan and Valencia want a permanent transfer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I read that, I think there might have been some translation issues.
As far as I know, it is the other way around, Valencia want an initial loan for one year, then they dont have to pay Lyon any money, which they would if they sell him directly.
Whatever,, we need a LB badly to pressurise Enrique. He came back a better player after he was dropped last year,

Well played to John Henry in his interview, told Suarez he isn't going to be sold and has a little dig at arsenal ;-)

Oh I thought that to first time but who knows and I agree, cissokho would push erinque for first team which would make both players better :)

  17. JH is a funny one, I am uncertain on the his leadership skills in terms of getting in the right managers, yet I cant help but like the guy. I think it has a lot to do with how nice it is to see a owner who isnt afraid to rub people up the wrong way. The what are they smoking comment was pure genius for a owner.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think we are one guy away...assuming Cissokho signs. I think the offense is already clicking well and remember we have not yet had DS in the mix. We need one more quality defender and I think we'll be ready to go. I'm feeling pretty good about 13-14.

    ReplyDelete
  19. he is shaping up to be a bit of a legend, totally agree.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wouldn't hurt to have some extra Brazilian flair and trickery in the team. Lets get him.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Totally agree; he's got something about him and I particularly enjoy seeing his wife in that red dress!

    ReplyDelete
  22. yes lets just spend it on kids who never make the grade

    ReplyDelete
  23. so thats the end of the suarez saga big john as said,no point discussing it anymore he staying,

    ReplyDelete
  24. why is it a disgrace the fans who voted are entitled to there opinion ,jb would be second on my list, but like l4red stated i think a lot of youngsters voted, hence, players like alonso and torres were a lot higher in the list than they should have been imo

    ReplyDelete
  25. barnes was fantastic but kenny was the king,i also think beardsley was vastly underated

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol, the new Neymar. Isn't Neymar still the new someone.

Sign him, but loan him back for a season? He is only 17 after all.

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Players usually want to win. They want to go, generally in any sport, where they can win. That's why I think this particular episode is misguided. We've won more trophies than Arsenal, but I really don't want to get into that."

    This one is the best!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Considering Neymar cost 30 million, 3 million would be a steal....if he worked out

    ReplyDelete
  29. If Henry sticks to this he's done the right thing. Suarez knows that if he takes his moaning too far and we bench him for a season, his chances of getting a move anywhere next summer or in January will diminish even further, so he will have to turn up and give his all if he is to either get CL football at Liverpool or anywhere else. Arsenal, Madrid et al will not want to sign a player next summer if he's been benched for a full season. There will be a new next big thing they'll have their sights on by then. That's why he's backpaddling now and wants a friendly solution after acting anything but like a friend.

    ReplyDelete
  30. no its all about CL tropheys do not count otherwise kenny would still be in charge

    ReplyDelete
  31. Raheem sterling is king
oh yeah saw ibe in westfield the other day
    that guy is so weird

    ReplyDelete
  32. he barley talks and looks scared as if he is goin g to be attacked by someone

    ReplyDelete
  33. but sterling is better thgen this andrea guy , him suarez, sturridge and coutinho will rip the prem to shreds

    ReplyDelete
  34. No, he wouldn't still be in charge. Dalglish was the key factor in the most catastrophic waste of transfer funds in LFC's history. He was also belligerent and overly defensive to the point that it began being a negative for the club. At one point, he even had to apologise publicly for his rudeness to a referee. Combine that with his terrible handling of the Suarez-Evra situation, and it's clear that there were lots of reasons for FSG to let him go.

This idea that Dalglish was harshly treated and/or deserved more time, is just fantasy.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Barnsey was a great player no doubt but he played in the strongest LFC team, Stevie G for me the greatest ever, playing the football he plays scoring as many goals as he does and his work rate is amazing and lets face it sometimes wining games of his own back especially as our team hasn't even been close to the team Barnsey had (IMO)

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's all posturing. Liverpool will give in to Suarez yet again. Henry even says in his statement 'We need Luis'. Give it a week or so, and Suarez will apologise; Rodgers will be fawning all over him again, talking about 'moving on' and 'putting everything in the past', and Suarez will be straight back in the team as soon as his suspension is up.

    ReplyDelete
  37. right jamie lets get a few thing right one of the major reasons kenny got sacked was is handling of the saurez issue, yet the club keep bleating on about how we stood by suarez in the darkest moments of his career, well so did kenny and fsg sacked him hypocrites to say the least ,and as for his rudeness to a referee fergie did it for years ,if the ref as had a howler why should they not get told, fair enough some of his transfers did not add up ,but at the end of the day he got us into europe ,

    ReplyDelete
  38. What's wrong with that, if he scores goals till Christmas, his value goes up, only WC striker available in the Winter window whose not cup tied, we get points on board, money in Jan and 6 months to target replacements. It's a win-win really.

    ReplyDelete
  39. sorry but i disagree if rodgers has said what suarez claims he has said, why would suarez ever show him respect again, because i know i could not infact i would tell rodgers to his face, when my bans up and i start back playing when,if you sub me do not bother getting of the bench to welcome me of because i will shun you infront of 40 odd thousand

    ReplyDelete
  40. getting somebody into europe shouldnt be the target if you have a budget like he had one.... thats a pretty weak argument jason

    ReplyDelete
  41. rodgers has had all the players that kenny had and spent loads on top ,whats is argument ,he also had lucas ,everbody makes excuses for rodgers, this season the excuses ,will not sway the masses,

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yeah, unlike you, I'm sure Suarez is not consumed by irrational hatred for Rodgers.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm not sure why people view playing in a strong LFC team as a negative.Surely it's harder for a player to standout if he's surrounded with quality players.
JOHN BARNES had everything skill, control, dribbling and when his legs went he played in CM and became a passing machine.
He wouldn't force passes he kept it nice and simple. You could blast the ball into JB's feet and he'd kill it dead he wouldn't miss control and have to tackle to get the ball back.
BARNSEY could beat players with ease with amazing skill and fend challenges off with his strength.Very good at crossing the ball something that most wingers today don't have in their locker. You could give him the ball if he was being closed down by the opposition and he wouldn't give it away.
Tricks and flicks he was simply a magician.BARNES had natural football ability but when i look at SG for me it's more mechanical.

    ReplyDelete
  44. FSG are not hypocrites in the slightest. Rodgers has backed Suarez, but he has done so in the right way (not that I agree with his stance, but he still did it in a professional manner). Dalglish did no such thing; he made it personal; perpetuated the tiresome LFC victim-complex, and endlessly spewed out bile to the press for no beneficial reason.

Also, just because Ferguson is rude to journos doesn't mean it makes it okay for Dalglish to do it. What kind of argument is that?

    ReplyDelete
  45. it is not irrational behaviour if someone you are supposed to trust promised you something ,and did not deliver you would be miffed ,but if they told the world that basically your lying then you would be dam right angry ,its human nature,(i am not saying rodgers ever said this )i am just pointing out the facts ,and if he has suarez would have zero respect for rodgers ,and one would have to leave, otherwise it would affect the nucleus of the team,

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is all typical supposition on your part, and none of it is 'fact'. Rodgers has stated publicly that he made no promise to Suarez. You choose to believe Suarez because it furthers your irrational hatred against Rodgers.

Suarez is not a reliable witness in any way, shape or form. He has a history of disrespecting LFC in the gravest manner possible, whereas Rodgers respects the club's heritage and tradition. I know who I'd rather believe.

    ReplyDelete
  47. liverpool4life5651:08 pm, August 09, 2013

Kenny brought in rubbish player spent way over for them. Rodgers had to clean that mess up and he has done a decent job.

    ReplyDelete
  48. barnes first season with lfc was the greatest side i have ever seen ,people talk about barca ,well that side were better imo ,some of the football and goals we scored were magical ,and i can remember many goals from that season as if they were yesterday ,i cannot remember what weekly saturday night football was showing at the time ,but i remember the goal of the season competition and ever goal was a lfc goal, that tells you how brilliant we were, any team can score a fantastic goal but we were doing it week in week out,

    ReplyDelete
  49. no it is not i am just posting an opinion on the matter ,suarez said rodgers said it ,so i am giving an opinion ,i stated above i am not saying its true ,but if it is true they will be aggreivances ,and if the results do not pan out come xmas ,one of them will leave ,and if fsg want to keep suarez at all costs it could well be rodgers

    ReplyDelete
  50. liverpool4life5651:43 pm, August 09, 2013

Obviously it isn't true, or it would of been in the contract to. And if Suarez wants to go we should let him go next season. No player is bigger than the club, and we've shown we can play better football without him.

    ReplyDelete
  51. True, I still remember after promising to shake Evra's hand, Suarez didn't. When approached by a journo about it Kenny became belligerent and said that the journo was bang outta order for blaming Suarez. Anyway, not gonna get involved with dissing Kenny, the guy has already paid the price....for paying...THOSE prices for dross. Funny how FSG aren't getting praise from certain fans (Henry in particular) for putting Suarez in his place and being decisive that we won't be mugged off. No, instead people will still use any bogus arguments to complain about them lol

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow JC do you believe everything that Suarez says? I suppose you also believed him when he signed his new (Improved contract) and stated how he loved the club, was happy and hopes to be here for many years (Go and what the video if you want).

    ReplyDelete
  53. God damn Henry.... apparently we arent selling luis. mopety mope all season long...

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think you're wrong this time JK. The club (including the manager) seem a lot more savvy than before (you admitted so yourself when talking about Rodgers' ridiculous praise all the time). I'm fairly confident the club will avoid being made to look stupid yet again.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sterling is in the news again, for the wrong reasons. Apparently spent the night in jail. Be no use if Sterling is better or not, if he is busy elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I agree but a Suarez firing on all cilinders and giving his all is after all an enrichment to our first team lineup purely from a football perspective.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm with you on that JASE.No excuses for this season. We have to do better and put up some sort of challenge for top 4.I still think we're a few players away from seriously competing for a CL place though.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sell suarez and sterling both dispicable human beings, one bites a player the other one hits women
    selll sterling

    ReplyDelete
  59. But the club will not look stupid (or at least they will spin it that way) if they publish some half hearted apology from Suarez on the website and he performs to the best of his ability again. People will be happy to hear he's seen the err in his ways and forgive.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Suarez wants his move to Spain and failing that, the Champions League. If he does not play at all, is kept in the stands for a season, he can kiss his form and his chance goodbye. The only thing that may save him then is a really good world cup but considering he won't have played for a year and the fact that Uruguay have not at all qualified for the WC yet, may be more of a risk than he would like to take.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I see your point but once again and this isn't a personal dig, but it proves a long standing point I've been making that the club can never win. If they caved in to what Suarez wanted i.e a move, then they would be seen as weak weak 'money grabbing lying yanks' - Not my quotes but some I've seen. They've made him stay (whether he likes it or not) in showing strength, they will now receive criticism for accepting if and when he apologises? What are they supposed to do?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wow, one and a half good season is all he has done, among the pile of sh1t he has brought to the fan.

Nothing like a period of mediocrity to make fans cling and hype onto anything remotely good.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Think john Henry has been reading my posts on here as this is (Almost) exactly what I suggested they do with Suarez. It must have been my "Keep da change ya filthy animal" line, yeah, I'm taking credit for this....lol

    ReplyDelete
  64. They are supposed to do what is right for the club and opinions are split about that. Some people will feel the only right thing to do is to get rid and others feel that keeping him and playing him providing he gives 100% is the right thing at least till January. And then there are those that are never happy regardless. They can't and won't keep everyone happy all the time they just need to do what they think is right. Whether each and every single one of us agrees is, in this respect, irrelevant. Personally I think that Henry is right when he says it's too late in the window to sell him but I also think they could have set an ultimatum much earlier and invested the money into the team. But seeing as they didn't do that, keeping him and showing every player in the squad and every player coming to the club in the future, who's boss is the best course of action right now imo.

    ReplyDelete
  65. True, however Henry says that it was stipulated to the player and his agent that if it was to happen it should be at the start of the window (To give the club time to get the right replacement). This is why he can't/won't be sold as it is too late in the day. Suarez has been angling and sending love letters to Real Madrid and they didn't send him one back lol

    ReplyDelete
  66. i do not demand top four but if we do not challenge for it rodgers time should be comming to an end

    ReplyDelete
  67. barnes, suarez, gerrard, dalglish, rush, torres and many before my time, were all the best at what they did in their time. Beardsley was a great player, but (imo) never dominated the game.

    ReplyDelete
  68. no i do not, beleive every thing he say ,but i do not beleive half of what rodgers and fsg say either

    ReplyDelete
  69. i agree - i'd have loved to have seen them against Milan. Barnes' goal against QPR stands out as does the Forrest 5-0, but there were so many other moments. Awesome team

    ReplyDelete
  70. do you really think we are going to pay is wages and let him rot on the bench after all the wage cutting exercises

    ReplyDelete
  71. did we not play a friendly against one of the top european teams and absolutly anialate them, his goal against qpr was that not is 1st at anfield due to the clapse of the kop that season

    ReplyDelete
  72. beardsly just made everything look so simple imo thats why i do not think he got the credit

    ReplyDelete
  73. Are you messing Carr? You think that money spent on youth is wasted, we have a lot of talent finally breaking through and your making ridiculous statements like that. Not every kid will make the grade that is the point that is football, but what your saying is that the money was better spent on the like of Downing with an inflated fee and wages. We have Sterling and Ibe who we purchased and though they may not yet be consistent enough to play every week they are surely better value for money. I have read your statements time and time again on this site and your views are simply wrong. So I will continue supporting Liverpool and every player youth right through to first team and manager and you sit there in your ivory tower making judgements on all that is LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  74. he is a fantastic footballer though - gives 100% in every game, plays one-twos off defenders legs - genius. maybe not worth the baggage in the end, but don't let that get in the way of judging his what a footballer he is.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The club is wage cutting the chaff or under performing/ older players. Wage cutting doesn't apply to the consistent performers, this has been done to death by the owners. Suarez is an exception because of his status as a constant performer on the pitch, however, his antics are being punished and the club are appearing not to tolerate

    ReplyDelete
  76. he was a bit like a nice suarez :-) . you're right he was a great player

    ReplyDelete
  77. so how comes we are no better of

    ReplyDelete
  78. you're memory is a better than mine. that forward line of barnes aldridge beardsley and houghton was one of the best combinations i've seen. all kenny's signings :-)

    ReplyDelete
  79. the last truely great team to grace anfield ,when they really was glory round the fields of anfield road,we have had good sides since but they were great ,we would have ruled europe with that side

    ReplyDelete
  80. and all nearly paid for ,from what we got for rush, give or take half a million, kennys signings were not worthless then, fans have short memories and seem to think he was, useless as a manager ,at least with kenny as manager he could attract top players

    ReplyDelete
  81. its carr71 or mr to you, weres sterling now on bail, hes done hardly nothing and thinks hes made it ,lets hope ibe dose not go the same way

    ReplyDelete
  82. This is Hilarious, the praise Rogers and Henry are receiving for "putting suarez in his place." Great Job!!! They really did well there - however on field where things matter, their performance leaves much to desire - how about signing a player that somebody actually heard about? What about getting a manager that has actually won something?
If their greatest success is putting thier best player "in his place" - I would really hate to see what a failure is for them.
Money talks and BS walks. Sorry but the owners and manager aren't in to win it - the target is 4th, their transfer targets are 2nd rate - no wonder their best player wants out.
The worst part of it is, this season is probably their best chance to make a title challenge - other clubs aren't doing so hot, new managment, new players. All is needed are a couple WC players.
Look at Tottenham, they have made serious moves to make a title challenge, before Bale has even left.

    ReplyDelete
  83. agreed. also kenny got us playing football again after that awful spell with hodson. got to be fair though, that money thrown away for carroll and downing was appalling and unfortunately will take the shine away from his first spell in charge. i also agree with Jaimie, that his press conferences bacame embarrassing. massive shame...

    ReplyDelete
  84. liverpool4life5654:58 pm, August 09, 2013

We've only got rid of people who have under performed and got in better younger players who score and impress in games.

    ReplyDelete
  85. liverpool4life5655:40 pm, August 09, 2013

Are you for real? Even if you sign a 30 million player it doesn't mean he will hit it off. Look at coutinho, 8.5 million is a gem. Aspas 7 million. Sturridge-12 million. It's about finding the right players.

    ReplyDelete
  86. He is a fine footballer, a talented one but in terms of that list, got to give more than 1 and half seasons of good form to be so high up.

    ReplyDelete
  87. 2 finals 3rd best defence and we where doing well untill lucas got injured and the wheels fell off...plus we where unlucky...not that bad JK

    ReplyDelete
  88. All good so far - Aspas will have to prove it on a bigger stage. But these are players that still have things to prove, and are not proven players, so to speak. I'm not saying all should be household names - just 1 or 2 of the signings. You know a Tevez or a Gomez, or some other proven player of that caliber.

    ReplyDelete
  89. i believe rogers told him if im honest ,when he first joined rogers was spouting all kinds of nonsense i can well believe he said if we don't finish top 4 you can leave without realizing suarez would hold him...this is the guy who publicly said allen was going to show the players at the club how football was played

    ReplyDelete
  90. He also probably used Allen to convince Suarez to stay.
Rogers: "how would you like to play with Xavi?"
Suarez: "oh Xavi, that would be great!"
Rogers: "Good news then, I'm bringing the Welsh Xavi?"
    Suarez "What is Welsh?"
Rogers: "Have you heard of Gareth Bale? - he's Welsh"
Suarez: "Oh yes, I can play very welsh with those players!"....

    ReplyDelete
  91. You started your response to my post as "This is hilarious". I think you should re read your post, have a long think and consider what is actually hilarious. So, you've never heard of Kolo Toure or Simon Mignolet? While I respect your opinion I think the standards you expect with what we actually have are pretty far fetched. Also, talking about Tottenham, I think you'll find that club has had a very long period of stability and have been able to build It's a little early to just expect a title challenge after what we've been through as a club is a little unrealistic. Especially since there are clubs in the prem owned by billionaires that have money and build teams for fun. In case you haven't realised, we just can't compete financially anymore, I feel a reality check is in order.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thats not what im suggesting m8, I still think he will go, just i do like JH, even though I shouldn`t. Its a guilty sin.

    ReplyDelete
  93. i do too ,is mouth may finally be catching up with him

    ReplyDelete
  94. yes but what about rodgers press conferences ,they are just one big embarrassment

    ReplyDelete
  95. dont bank on it this saga will twist and turn

    ReplyDelete
  96. fsg will do whats right for
    fsg

    ReplyDelete
  97. what we need is max to tell us what is really happening

    ReplyDelete
  98. hes away doing deals no doubt we will be signing someone pronto

    ReplyDelete
  99. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But as I said earlier today, I doubt the club will do a u turn on their hard line of WE won't sell, as it would really make them look like a bunch of muppets. But there may well be another twist in this saga, I reckon if Real come in with 50 big one's Henry et al may well change their tune.

    ReplyDelete
  100. What I find hilarious is the praise for handling this situation (which has been handled terribly), people are applausing the vindictive nature of it, not its effectiveness. Besides that there have been several blunders along the way, but fine people are pissed off, their trophy wife wants to leave.

But not to keep the glass half full, I agree there are positives - not quite praiseworthy, but at least commendable.

Mignolet aint bad, and neither is Kolo. But how about a Soldado, a Paulinho, a Bernard, Gomez, etc. A big name a game changer. This is what is lacking.
It doesn't require billionaires, Just a bit of money to incentivate the current squad, attract future players etc.

How do you think a player like Suarez feels playing along side Sterlings and Shelveys feels? If I were him I wouldn't want to clean up after the kids either.

As I say it doesnt take much, the squad is about halfway there. A player or two who's name alone encites fear in the opposition is needed.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Fair enough, that's your opinion, but tell me who you think we at this point can attract that would as you say incite fear? We tried for Henrikh Mik (I'm not even gonna try spell his name). He chose Dortmund, apparently Erikson wasn't keen on joining either. Thing is, unless you through silly money at big name players, without guaranteed Champions League, fact is, they won't come. Tottenham have signed the players you've mentioned as they have had CL more recently than us and are on a better financial footing.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Who is Patrick Mullins?

    ReplyDelete
  103. No. Thats why i said IF Henry sticks to this

    ReplyDelete
