Transfer Coup: LFC in secret London meeting to discuss €10m Brazilian. Sign...?

Last week, several sources - including Sky Sports Italia and Italian football show SportItalia - claimed that Liverpool had put in a bid for Brazilian midfielder Jorge Luiz Frello Filho - aka Jorginho - who currently plays for Serie B side Hellas Verona. Speculation about the youngster's future has continued this week, and it appears that the Reds are pressing ahead with trying to sign the youngster.

During last week's broadcast of SportItalia, journalist Alfredo Pedulla - formerly of Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport - confirmed that Liverpool had put in an €8m offer for Jorginho, who is also reportedly wanted by a whole host of top clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, AC Milan, Juventus, Manchester United and Manchester City.

In the latest broadcast of the show, Pedulla claims that:

* Verona President, Mauricio Setti, is willing to sell if the price is right.
* The asking price for Jorginho is €10m.
* Setti met with Liverpool reps in London this week to discuss the transfer.

Last month, Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport reported that AC Milan had agreed a deal to sign Jorginho, but Setti swiftly denied the story. He told reporters:

"Jorginho? There is interest from Milan but no deal has been agreed. Plus, we want to keep him for another year."

A few details about this little-known player:

* 21-years old.
* Born in Brazil but grew up in Italy.
* Came through the Verona youth academy.
* Chose to represent Italy at international level.
* Joined Verona last year from Serie D side AC Sambonifacese.
* Would be eligible for a work permit straight away.
* One cap for Italy's U21 side.
* 2 goals in 41 apps last season

Jorginho can play in several different positions (attacking midfield; Defensive mid; Central-mid playmaker, and Right wing), so Rodgers' interest is hardly surprising. Additionally, with 73 appearances in the last two seasons, the Brazilian has a good level of experience for his age, and his great form last season helped Verona to win promotion to Serie A.

After the apparent collapse of the Henrikh Mkhitaryan deal, some Reds fans will not be appeased by bargain-basement signings from Serie B. However, if Jorginho signs for Liverpool, and has a similar impact to fellow Brazilian Coutinho, the doubters will quickly be silenced, I'm sure.

  1. The game in England is on a totally different level of physicality compared to Italy so we may have inquired about him but I highly doubt we will take a risk on this player.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Not really a first team player as promised. And Hasn`t even played in serie A yet. More promising than established. That means liverpool are in for him then. Lol. On a serious note, what is going on? By the end of the window, on paper the squad will be worse off than last season, if the players linked with leaving do go, that is. Im hoping the 2 first team players arrive. But after the misleading info on the goalkeeping competion. Do we believe liverpool will buy these players?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Still almost 6 weeks till the window closes. I'm sure we'll see a couple of top signings before then.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Don't try and make negative people think positive things Jaimie. It just ain't going to work on them.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Bit underwhelmed with this one. 2 goals in 41 appearances are not brilliant statistics.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I personally don't think he will be an upgrade on what we already have but then rodgers know more than I do.

    ReplyDelete
  7. really are you ,because i am not, even if we sell suarez i do not see us buying any proven players, and as for pepe going on loan total lies by lfc again, not that i believed them in the 1st place it was obvious they would want him out

    ReplyDelete
  8. See what I mean Jaimie :-)

    ReplyDelete
  9. i would not be 2 sure about that;-)

    ReplyDelete
  10. The question is why would LFC *not* make further signings? It doesn't make sense not to. If the club misses out on transfer targets (again) then that is a problem, but BR is not stupid; he knows the club need at least two more experienced players before the window closes, and he's said as much. If that doesn't happen, then fans will have every right to be pi$$ed.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hey Jaimie, did you see what Rodgers said about how far the club went in order to sign Mkhitaryan but did not get a chance to discuss terms with the player?

    ReplyDelete
  12. he also said for certain last week mignolet was competition for pepe ,now hes either a bare faced liar or as i suspect somebody is pulling the rug from under his feet, also re flagging comments i have done it have a word with him sniping again at me and Nei1y

    ReplyDelete
  13. Reina is going to leave anyway, even Jaimie has said it time and time again so not sure why you are complaining about him going on loan.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I dont think the info regarding keepers was misleading. Did you honestly think Reina was staying to be number two, and would you have been happy with a player on 110,000 a week sitting on the bench?
The statement of competition was simply the only thing that could be said. If you say publicly you want to sell a player you straight away put yourself at a disadvantage in any negotiations. I for one would prefer to see this good business sense being applied, than the club coming out and putting all our transfer business in the mirror on a daily basis. There are signings coming, but they will not always be what you read in SoccerSpy...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Another sensible post that many people will fail to grasp.

    ReplyDelete
  16. no we did not think he was staying so why did rodgers state it numerous times

    ReplyDelete
  17. Because the question was put to him numerous times, so it was answer truthfully and knock a couple of million off the asking price/20% extra of his wages we have to pay in a loan deal, or tow the party line and say he's staying. I dont have any problems with the club not laying everyhting out for journos. They'll make up their own story anyway most of them.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think the provisions to buy are there. The problem is luring top players to a club with only domestic football. It's basically down to Rodgers' ability to sell the club and his plan and aspirations to the targeted player directly. Ian Ayre can't do it, especially with a kipper like that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. he said it before we signed him as well ,and why loan him out we should just sell him,we have been shafted enough times by italian clubs and loan deals

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree, If he says "yep he's replacing Reina" then teams will come in with low ball offers, even though i think everyone knew he was going.
A loan move could turn out to be a better thing depending on how much wage we are paying, If he dominates at napoli they will pay more to keep him or Barca will want him more. (Hopefully) lol

    ReplyDelete
  21. Totally agree that we're going to get shafted on a transfer fee next summer. I can't believe we are still paying over the odds for other teams players IMO yet letting our own leave for whatever low ball offer teams make us. We're are an absolute laughing stock in the transfer market. I admit I think we've made some smart signings but I still think we've over paid for all three players we've paid a fee for.

    ReplyDelete
  22. liverpool4life56511:40 am, July 20, 2013

Don't believe this if I'm honest, also reina deal is a good thing they pay his wages. So we save 5.5 million, they give us a loan fee around 2 million. Then next summer we sell him to Barcelona for 9/10 million.

    ReplyDelete
  23. max you mis read everything ...weather reina was going or not is irrelevant the point being made is that rogers clearly stated that mingolet was competition and reina was staying then several days later hes out on loan.....why make dumbass statements in the first place...i don't think rogers has any control on who comes and goes

    ReplyDelete
  24. that's not the point...the point is they stated one thing then did another....if they mislead fans with basic truths they will mislead you over anything....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Obviously he had to say that .so we get a good transfer fee in case we wanted to sell . This is a no brainy . Just how much do u think we would have made if he said pepe had no future at lfc. Come on guys.

    ReplyDelete
  26. we all grasp it ...we all knew reina was going ...everyone i spoke to thought reina was going ...yet rogers made a statement that he wasn't then a couple of days later he was...that's the point that you are failing to grasp...why come out with a blatant lie ...its like the carroll loan all over again ..it just makes rogers luck stupid

    ReplyDelete
  27. players are brought in all the time in other players positions ...and we all know the politics involved in propping up the fee....but do you think for one minute that other clubs don't know this they arnt stupid ....

    ReplyDelete
  28. jaimie ...look around ...whose out there who we can bring in of any class who will be within fsgs remit....whether BR is stupid or not doesn't matter hes not signing the cheques...plus i don't think fsg care if he looks stupid as long as it detracts attention from themselves

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just like when Rafa said Alonso was staying and a week or two later he was gone.

    Stop making Rodgers your scapegoat.

    ReplyDelete
  30. jeeez wtf is goin on loan deals ? we need the poke for him .theres 10 million in him and we loan him!!!!! are lfc completely f"ckin stupid

    ReplyDelete
  31. rafa f*cked up on all fronts with alonso apart from actually buying him

    ReplyDelete
  32. So Reina leaving is Rodgers fault? I get you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. should cut all ties and sell him now for 10 million

    ReplyDelete
  34. short answer yes.....italian clubs play us for tobys

    ReplyDelete
  35. When he is asked the question "is reina leaving", its not a fan asking. Its a journalist, who will print your response in a paper read by every club interested in signing him. The response "yes he is for sale" innevitabley the asking price is brought down. Surely you grasp that? The only "stupid" thing is to come out and admit he's for sale. You immediately concede ground in any negotiations...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Do not try and make some people understand something that they cannot grasp.

    ReplyDelete
  37. It is a waste of time trying to explain anything.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i don't have a problem with Reina leaving ....and if mingo is a better goalie that great...its dumass statements that annoy ...rogers doesn't have the standing in the game like old red nose to bullshit and get away with it......when fsg let him come out with things ( and they have press officers they know every move he makes ) it makes him luck naive

and as an unexpected manager at a big club that cant be good especially as he is the one trying to sell it to potential players.

    ReplyDelete
  39. liverpool4life56512:30 pm, July 20, 2013

True but we get more money overall....which can go towards more players.... :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. liverpool4life56512:31 pm, July 20, 2013

But barca haven't come in for him. They want to sign him next summer :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. that can apply to every player at the club ...it doesn't mean you have to make a statement

    ReplyDelete
  42. if we where selling him great but we are loaning him out.....whats the point of going through a charade to loan a player out then get screwed over by another italian club

    ReplyDelete
  43. no doubt we will do swap with barca for a 20 year old who played one game for them in there d team ,we may give them some money as well lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nobody seems to be able to answer my question.

Does Reina want a permanent move to Italy or Spain?

    ReplyDelete
  45. So do you want Rodgers to come out and say Reina is for sale then?

    ReplyDelete
  46. i have just bought a car for 10 grand exactly the same as the one i have already got ,same milage colour and model,i was going to sell the old one but have changed my mind,i will just leave it outside in the rain, infact no a better idea ,i will loan it out for free,so if anyone needs a good car contact me,it dose not matter if you wreck it,ps forgot to say i will pay your tax test and insurance, and of coure contribute to your petrol

    ReplyDelete
  47. The flip side is that you have to let agents and clubs know he is for sale or you wont sell him ...your logic is flawed because if this sales strategy was so good we would have sold him we havnt and get screwed over time and again ...you cant bullsh*t everyone sometimes its best to come out and say pepe is for sale we are listening to offers....everyone in the world of football knows hes for sale to pretend otherwise is folly

    ReplyDelete
  48. i think its there way ,its a bit like a cup competition who can make us look the biggest mugs

    ReplyDelete
  49. Man u has two supposed world class keepers.fergie said the same thing just that he did not sell or loan lindergard. ..do u get my point.

    ReplyDelete
  50. yes i do ..then we can move forward all this bull sh*t gets us no where....we have players at the club who dont know if they are coming or going thats not good for them or the club.If a player wants out put him up for sale ....we will get screwed over in a loan deal.....theres an old saying for unwanted stock ...your first offer is your best offer...one year down pepe is a year older and his contarct a year shorter

    ReplyDelete
  51. the utd situation is nothing like ours plus rogers isnt sir alex

    ReplyDelete
  52. The logic defies :-o

    ReplyDelete
  53. but barca want him next year,so our hands are tied if barca want him next year we must obey there wishes;-)

    ReplyDelete
  54. So does Reina want a permanent move to Italy or Spain?

    ReplyDelete
  55. without asking him in person i dont know ...but the case of him and suarez wanting to go seems pretty clear cut....lets just sell up and move on...as a club we should be bigger than players ..if a player is unhappy put them on the list and ship them out no matter who..we cant move forward if we are stuck in the past

    ReplyDelete
  56. you have to do this with sh*t players you dont need to do it with quality players...teams will always take good player off your hands

    ReplyDelete
  57. what as what pepe wants got to do with it suarez wants to go to madrid should we just let him,you asked the ? twice hoe that saves you from asking it again

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sorry but your post does not make sense at all.

    ReplyDelete
  59. lol like you say it a waste of time trying to explain anything

    ReplyDelete
  60. u obviously seem to be angry about something , an not really what we are talking about here ...Alex and rodgers are all managers PLEASE!

    ReplyDelete
  61. what manager on earth wouldn't have said that. did he hold a press conference just to say that..come on! didn't wenger time and again say fabregas was going now where even when he had agreed terms with Barca?

    ReplyDelete
  62. we are all not happy at the way business is being carried out at LFC , but hey! lets be real on some issues mate.

    ReplyDelete
  63. what as what wants got to do with? Like i said, it does not make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  64. A little condescending (excuse spelling) wouldnt you say.Reina will not play second fiddle to anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hey Max did that make any sense to you?lol

    ReplyDelete
  66. thats just it we dont

    ReplyDelete
  67. anyway on another note lets hope this stating 11 plays well today because IMO This is more or less the team which will start the first pem game

    ReplyDelete
  68. im not angry ...just annoyed that we seem to always mess up on the transfer front by either overpaying or not paying at all

    ReplyDelete
  69. who knows lol;-)

    ReplyDelete
  70. yes for peanuts...and thats if hes doesnt get injured loaning him out

    ReplyDelete
  71. I just went to the manchester united game in sydney. I feel sorry for utd players, because their fans were shit.

    ReplyDelete
  72. not for me, i dont feel he is a improvement on what we have already so cant see the point in wasting cash

    ReplyDelete
  73. you dont really know that we dont, nor do we know we will. impossible to work out until after if it was a good thing or not.

one positive though is as its a loan we can recall him if needed, thus s nice back up.

    ReplyDelete
  74. if thats the case lump on stoke, after that 1st half poor just dose not sum it up,and the new signings well the less said about them the better

    ReplyDelete
  75. not really indonesia 11 has just been parking the bus whenever liverpool reaches anywhere around the box there's about 8 indonesia players so its not liverpool playing poorly its liverpool vs di mateo's chelsea sigh

    ReplyDelete
  76. FSG are basically trying to do a copy of the Red Sox Bostons which I don't think will take only one year, I guess it'll take more than that and signing such players who're from lower leagues and also very young will not have an immediate impact. I fear that its completely understandable if we do not get into top 4 this season because these signings won't make it happen but a few top class proven players can. I don't understand why we're signing players that are not specific to any single position but to multiple positions. I think we will also sign a player who'd play anywhere including the GK position too lol.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Completely agree. Everything that is said by BR in the transfer window is meant to improve the value of current players or advance the transfer of future players. Not many on these boards understand this.

    "He lied to us!"

Der. Of course he lied, but not to us. He lied to the management of other teams. You just happened to read what he said. Opposing managers understand this. How did we know when Fergie was lying? There was a microphone around.

    ReplyDelete
  78. 110,000 a week and a sale to Barca in 6-12 months.

    ReplyDelete
  79. indonesia park the bus every match arsenal banged 7 past them ,bahrain 10

    ReplyDelete
  80. completely different team where playing when Arsenal played them to be fair. They played there ressies pretty much, but i do agree we look poor. Aspa looks shocking. However its a pre season game, cant really read to much into them, or you shouldnt. Coutinho is looking awesome in this game.

    ReplyDelete
  81. sorry m8 but 9 out of ten started against arsernal and to be true we have not even created 7 chances

    ReplyDelete
  82. did you just make that fact up? 6 players from todays team started against Arsenal, where you get 9 out of ten? and why out of ten?

    ReplyDelete
  83. like the commentator stated to indonesia didn look up to scratch against arsenal gave them to much respect for us now they playing

    ReplyDelete
  84. six started how many have come on as sub,did arsenal just play there starting 11 or use there squad ,it as been pisspants poor and no amount of excuses will change that

    ReplyDelete
  85. did they give bahrain to much respect when they banged ten past them as well

    ReplyDelete
  86. You said and I quote "9 out of ten started" they didnt, your thus just making stuff up to suit your mood.

Aresnal played there two best strikers (from bench, but thats when the goals went in when they came on).

It does highlight why keeping Suarez is important tho.

I feel Sturridge and Suarez would rip this team apart, currently it looks like a team of midfeilders up front. nice build up play, not fire power.

    ReplyDelete
  87. ahahahaha true um we've been a bit poor today still chalking it up to the bus

    ReplyDelete
  88. bus lol it must have been a fleet of them

    ReplyDelete
  89. nice goal that, Assaidi has looked ok too, and so has ibe and sterling

    ReplyDelete
  90. how many clear cut chances have we created lol,and it was the same squad ,so they all play apart bahrain banged ten past them they can be no excuses, and with suarez suspended, sturridge injured borinni is our main striker, the two lads we signed from spain look no where near as exciting as sterling and ibe

    ReplyDelete
  91. woyld've hated to be an indonesia fan ah finally a second goal ibe and sterling looking like the deal

    ReplyDelete
  92. you stated 9 out of 10 started, they didnt. stick to facts m8. just makes ur argument look made up otherwise.

That last goal is how i wish we played, fast. we take forever in build up play, thats why ALL teams have everyone back by the time we attack. Why cant we do faster play. we have it in us

    ReplyDelete
  93. ibe and sterling look more the deal than our two new signings from spain

    ReplyDelete
  94. it dose not help when allen refuses to play the ball forward by the time hes squared it the opposition have got back into place, and there is no argument we were awful

    ReplyDelete
  95. early days early days alberto seems like he's starting 11 material especially if he can play on the right (in front of downing for sure) and aspas well poor pitch today agains PNE he was imo the mom

    ReplyDelete
  96. ohh its all Allens fault is it, cause before he came in we were amazing for 70mins.....

    ReplyDelete
  97. mark my words they will not take us forward

    ReplyDelete
  98. allen i was just generalizing he is oe of the main culprits for slowing down the attack, and i totally agree about watching paint dry ,although most fans think its fantastic ,i predict another wasted season

    ReplyDelete
  99. I`m hopeful that it will improve as this was just a pre season game and its hard to take to much from them this early on. We do need better players tho.

    ReplyDelete
  100. possibly right although I also recall you claiming Sturridge would flop.

    ReplyDelete
  101. ahahah early days still same was said bout sturridge and coutinho if u say borini and downing then i fully agree

    ReplyDelete
  102. Slipperie_Slope5:04 pm, July 20, 2013

Sorry i dont agree. Everyone knew he was for sale yes. But as soon as you say it blatantly you weaken your position. It will be used against you in every negotiation. This is the same in every aspect of any business not just football.

    ReplyDelete
  103. dull as dishwater game i actually nodded off for a spell...poor up and front and in the middle, only positives are that sterling and ibe look keen to impress...down side is i think any team which has pace and plays direct will cause us no end of problems this season

    ReplyDelete
  104. allen was poor m8 as was lucas and gerrard

    ReplyDelete
  105. im a big fan of sturridge but i have a bad feeling hes going to miss a lot of games through injury

    ReplyDelete
  106. liverpool4life5655:26 pm, July 20, 2013

Haha, omy, aspas looks good, good movement would of scored that goal if it wasn't for the rubbish pitch. Also Alberto hit the bar and looked nice and tidy, it's only their second game.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Another prospect ????

    ReplyDelete
  108. you misunderstand the point im making...we need money for transfers if we are going to play charades with teams then lets at least get rid...what i dont want is pepe back at the club in a years time a year older with less value...when you loan a player out ..the cats out the back ...your more or less saying take him off our hands at any price we are desperate...im all for bigging a player up if you are actually going to sell them ..there is no point bigging a player up then loaning him out...as soon as you loan a player out of a certain age its an admission you will accept any offer.

    ReplyDelete
  109. if your confident of getting into Europe with that so called improved squad...good on yer ..i dont see it ..if we cant look good in coditions that rogers teams and ilk of player is suited for againt p*ss poor opposition then god help us winter against good teams

    ReplyDelete
  110. oh just like the 12m deal which was agreed for aqua man.....lets say in 12 months barcalona offer nothing and want him for free

    ReplyDelete
  111. BUT WE ARE NOT SELLING WE ARE LOANING HIM OUT WHY CAN NO ONE GRASP THIS SUBTLE DIFFERENCE TO THE POINT IM MAKING

    ReplyDelete
  112. but wenger f*Cking sold fabregas he didnt loan him out

    ReplyDelete
  113. your right the best way to inflate the transfer fee is to say you really want a player then loan him out at the first chance...f*cking brilliant that worked a treat for us with aquaman

    ReplyDelete
  114. there every chance barca will get him for nothing now next year jase that's what most don't grasp on here...these are the same guys who thought we where going to get 12m for aquaman lol

    ReplyDelete
  115. you lost me. stop reading what you want and read what is written. I said the game was poor and we need better players. How did you twist that into I think we can get into Europe?

Truths m8, its all about truths. I can think we were poor without having to lie and make up facts to try and prove my point.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Baselessly writing off the team after two utterly meaningless pre-season friendlies. What a shock.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I sometimes wonder why I actually bother writing informed analysis type posts for replays to have hardly any logical reply to them.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Why, because they're English and not foreign?

    ReplyDelete
  119. great post mate what if he fails the mot when he comes back (broken leg etc) hes still our problem with 2 years on the contract and a few more miles on the clock. sell now this is f"ckin madness

    ReplyDelete
  120. But who cares? It's a pre-season friendly; players are expected to play poorly.

    ReplyDelete
  121. did you actually expect anything more Jamie? I have to admit at times it is draining seeing such negative, factless stuff constantly posted, however I know everyone is entitled to there own view.

All you can do is laugh to yourself. I do recall a poster on here reading the doomsday riot over us signing Sturridge as he was not good enough for liverpool. Pinches of salt and laughing inside is the way forward as time and time again they are proved wrong.

a little snipey? a tad lol, but there is a limit to everyones temperment. Still I did leave all names out, if thats a bonus :-)

    ReplyDelete
  122. Slipperie_Slope6:40 pm, July 20, 2013

The premise is exactly the same as i said earlier IMO, so if we said we want to loan him out the rwsult would be the same. "Oh we will take him but will only want to pay 40% of his wages instead of 60%"... It would be great to get him off the books but he clearly wont be going until valdes hangs up his boots

    ReplyDelete
  123. well that's just tough shit on barca we want shut now we are not at barcas beck and call. either put up or shut up .or sell him to Napoli there not skint with 50 odd million in the bank for suarezs mate don't trust the ities they always fu"k us over

    ReplyDelete
  124. Reina on the bench, pulling £6mill a year, no thanks. Reina is another who courted Barca, well what did we expect, not to sign another keeper until Reina feels its time to leave. No way.

    ReplyDelete
  125. He wants to move to Barca next year, but becoz Valdes has decided to stay with Barca this season, no point him sitting on the bench.
We signed Mingolet, he could have stayed and fought for his place, but instead decided on playing time with Napoli.
He gets playing time, we save his £6mill salary, plus the fee for him next year, an astute piece of business IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Napoli will buy him, in that case.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Must be our marquee signing then. After all Brenda did say you don't have to break the bank to sign class.......ha...ha...ha...ha...

    ReplyDelete
  128. no we repair him and pay his wages then loan him out again or give him a free contract

    ReplyDelete
  129. jaimie not writing of the team just stating rodgers signing have looked worse than players already at the club

    ReplyDelete
  130. sturridge lol spends more time on the f2cking sick bench than he dose playing

    ReplyDelete
  131. why would that be

    ReplyDelete
  132. yet still has a better scoring rate than anyone in the team...including Suarez.

So you think Sturridge is still a flop not good enough for Liverpool then as you previously stated when we signed him? Still another poor buy which wont take us forward? Or you changed ur mind and admit you got that one wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  133. you cannot hide the fact we were sh1te

    ReplyDelete
  134. i did not say sturridge would flop i said he would not take us forward

    ReplyDelete
  135. where have I hidden that? I stated we were poor and you lied. Both are true, so please stop trying to make it look like I said we were great.

Twisting what I said, or meant to hide the fact I busted you making up facts aint going to pull the wool over many peoples eyes m8

  136. Based on what? That is just a baseless statement.

Aspas has one goal and one assist in two games. How is that looking 'worse' than the player already at the club?

What has Toure done wrong, exactly? Two clean sheets. It's his job to keep clean sheets, is it not? Same goes for Mignolet.

With respect, what you're saying is just total nonsense. Please explain with examples how Toure, Mignolet, Alberto and Aspas have looked worse than the players already here.

  137. which is the same as flopping. You posted loads of times about him not being good enough and how this was another sign of BR and FSG not signing good players etc.

  138. And you were massively wrong about that. Sturridge HAS taken LFC forward (in an attacking sense).

  151. okay so were loaning the lad out for a season. no harm in that as long as he has a long term contract, which means he wont be let go for nothing at the end of the season, and we get his wages off the books this year. IF, and its a big IF, he does well and say wins the champions league or Italian league then his price rises and all good clubs come calling for him next summer! he still has 2 year on a contract then and we hopefully get a decent fee and we all know Barca, Napoli and Arsenal need a keeper so why not

    ReplyDelete
  152. If he has a similar impact to Coutinho you're the doubters will be silenced.......WOW

  156. Reina has 3 years on his deal, so we get his £5.5m wages off the bill and sell him for £10m next summer to Barcelona.......good business.

    ReplyDelete
  157. How will they when he has 3 years on his deal........LOL.

  158. He is waiting for Valdes to leave next summer.

  159. not at all lets see how he performs over a season ,lets see if he sulks or loses interest ,he has done some great things since signing ,but he as also had a few stinkers ,over a full season is when a proper judgement can be made same for coutinho,we build them up to be world class to quickly at lfc ,makes it all the harder when they turn out to be average

  160. jorginho 8-10m for someone with no top flight experience, very poor scoring rate, what's going on here, fed up with these types of players we are looking at, we should be looking at better players than this surely

    ReplyDelete
  161. I would rather play the likes of Texeira and the academy lads than waste 8 to 10 million on this.
It is high time they bought in first 11 players depth means nothin if your first team is not up to it.
Mignolet is the only definite first 11 player bought in and it is debatable as to whether he would have held down a spot over Reina had he stayed.

The only thing Liverpool look to be pushing for is the FA cup and maybe the league cup i just hope some real marquee signings are made.
