In March, Liverpool were linked with a move for Manchester City youngster Abdisalam Ibrahim, and reports today suggest that the Reds are still monitoring the coveted midfielder.
According to Sky Sports today:
"Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton, Fulham and Swansea are all keeping tabs on Ibrahim's progress.
"They will continue to monitor his situation over the summer"
The 21-year old midfielder - who has been compared to Patrick Vieira and Yaya Toure - is currently on loan at Norwegian side Stromsgodset - where he's started all six games this season - and he recently put in a man-of-the-match performance in the club's 2-0 victory over Sandnes Ulf.
£6m-rated Ibrahim is getting his career back on track after being sent home early from a disappointing loan spell with NEC last year. When the move ended, Technical director Carlos Aalbers told NEC's official website:
"Abdisalem had it difficult in his role as a reserve. It was therefore better for everyone that he would return to Manchester City to get his career back on track."
Man City's Football Development Executive Patrick Vieira watched Ibrahim in action last month, and after the game, the France legend admitted he was 'impressed' with the youngster, who was clearly pleased that to hear that Vieira attended the game. The 6'2 midfielder told reporters:
"I am happy the way that the season has started and it is nice to hear Patrick Vieira was here to watch me. I want to continue improving and remain focused on my game and we will see in the summer what Manchester City plan to do with me."
Jostein Flo, Strømsgodset Director of Sports, is a fan of Ibrahim, and believes that he has what it takes to succeed in a bigger league. He told ABC Nyheter:
"He [Ibrahim] is hot right now and has developed considerably here. If he leaves, he will probably go to a club abroad. City is very pleased that he is here, but we have not discussed his future"
Ibrahim's current deal expires in 2014.

On topic- 6mn too much. 3mn on DIame looks better.
ReplyDeleteOff topic- Latest on BR. After giving a LOUD interview few days back suggesting Liverpool would reject playing in Europa, he has taken a total u-turn. Guy speaks too much
Lol now everyone wants our youngsters, little old Manchester City aye.
ReplyDeletehow about John Guidetti.
ReplyDelete£6m-rated? There's a good reason he's playing for Stromsgodset; he's rubbish.
ReplyDeleteeveryone but your own club
ReplyDeletei normally close my ears when rodgers speaks he talks shite and if he puts his own personal opinion across the organ grinder soon puts him right he,s comical is rodgers
ReplyDeleteHow about him?
ReplyDeleteIf he's good enough, he'll come through at City, if he's not good enough, he'll end up at Liverpool, 17 points behind City with a game in hand.
ReplyDeleteOr that he's learning his trade and gone on loan for game time, have you even seen him play?
ReplyDeletelol ...i seem to remember we had the next zidane playing for us and the only thing they had in common was a bog seat haircut.......as for the europe leauge why would a profit organization like fsg pass up on it ...that plus i dont think the club sponsors would be to happy to miss out on a European audience ....lol you gotta love the guy r
ReplyDeletetheres plying your trade and plying your trade ......hed be as well plying his trade at B & Q than stromsgodsey
ReplyDeleteOkeydoke, I'll get the Norwegian FA on the phone and let them know that you don't rate their standard of football very highly, I'm sure they'll be crushed.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what any of what you've just typed, actually means.
ReplyDeletewell you obviously dont follow liverpool ..but ill fill you in anyway .....we signed a french guy called cheyrou and houlier said he was the next zidane ..you can work the haircut part out yourself
ReplyDeletedo Norway have an FA LOL
ReplyDeletethe only one who wants manchesters youngsters is ken barlow
ReplyDeleterodgers shot his mouth off again lol but it,s ok he,s been told what the score is and hes back tracking again infact he could be the world record holder when it comes to back tracking
ReplyDeletemaybe it,s because he did not post it to you or maybe it,s because your not very bright saying that your a man city fan so at least your brighter than your neighbours
ReplyDeletedeidre must be shaking her head 1st kevin now ken whats the world comming too
ReplyDeleteYes, they play in European competitions too I believe, remember those?
ReplyDeleteBit hard to question someone's intellect, when you don't appear to know the difference between an apostrophe and a comma, or your and you're.
ReplyDeleteMust be great speaking fluent bindipper...
Toodlepip.
im gutted ive only read the interview in print ...im gonna have to try and watch the edit ......hes becoming like audley harrison shit results great interveiws
ReplyDeleteI have seen him play many times and do not understand the hype. Of the "new Vieira" midfielders we have he ranks behind Razak, Ntcham, and Fofana! He'll end up somewhere like Brighton.
ReplyDelete17 points behind, 26 trophies ahead.
ReplyDeleteThe Norwegian FA play in European competitions?
ReplyDeleteThe players must be devastated.
We could with some footballing people in our FA too and other cliché opinions on how to fix English football bla bla bla bla...
Cling to that history fella, Nited are famous for looking backwards to...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when you were typing that out, you thought it sounded funny. Shame it didn't translate into that though eh...
ReplyDeleteWell you fail when you compare your history (even in the last decade) with us (or United) and as far as I can tell, you got knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and got destroyed in the title race, so what I'm wondering is...why do you seem to think you're in a position to act like you're significant?
ReplyDeleteYou won one title. On goal difference. After spending s small country's GDP. Then you bottled it when the pressure was really on.
You're not the biggest team in the country. You're not even the biggest in Manchester.
United (I'm assuming that is who Nited are) are famous for looking backwards? Probably because the present is so fucking boring since they won the title about 2 months ago.
Ah, from someone I respect so much, this critique is almost too much to bear.
ReplyDeleteAlas! There is only one course of action.
From this day forth I shall be a new man, nay a better man!
I'll make you proud HeavyRiffs! One day I shall measure up to the great standards you have set with your gentle humour and burgeoning intellect.
Child porn, apparently.
ReplyDeleteThere you go, I knew you'd see sense.
ReplyDeleteI'm off now, I won't darken your doorway again, seems your main scribe/moderator has an over sensitive delete button.
City have a partnership with them and they actually let the young guys get significant minutes. When you send them on loan to a club in England, there's not much in the way of a guarantee they'll actually play even if they're probably better than the other guys on the team.
ReplyDeleteits shocking jimmy saville will be turning in his grave lol
ReplyDeleteBitch..! Every time I see your comments I know instantly it will be fill with negatives.. I just wanted you to know there are people out there that appreciates what BR is trying to do at LFC ....for fork sake please take your victor mildew attitude ( you old sour puss) and go support any old building... You miserable fart....

ReplyDeleteI've never heard it called turning before.
ReplyDeletelol were will it end footballers are suddenly looking like saints
ReplyDeleteNot this one.. He will certainly play for Norways national team, and get PL first football. Not in City though..
ReplyDeleteIf Rolf Harris gets found guilty, in the words of Pvt. Hudson:
ReplyDelete"Game over, man! Game over!"
iam waiting for brucie to be done higher or lower than 9 nothing in this game for two in a bed lol;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Q is why should Man City want to sell their player that resemble Patrick Vieira. Just please BR in moment like this stop buying on youngster. We need prover player. A couple of defenders, an attackers like Eriksson or Mkthiaryan and a forward.
ReplyDeleteLoool! I have copied and pasted this and sent to a few Man City fans !!
