Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has launched an ill-advised public attack on Brendan Rodgers, accusing the Reds boss of lying to him over the reason for his recent omission from the club's starting line-up.
The Slovakian has recently lost his place to Jamie Carragher, and in an interview with The Telegraph, Skrtel insisted that he didn't want to cause any 'unnecessary conflict', but then proceeded to question Rodgers' decision to leave him on the sidelines.
The 28-year old even suggested that Rodgers is not being truthful about the reason for making the change. He said:
"He Rodgers gave me some explanation. He told me we had lost the organisation of play in the defensive line [against Manchester United] and that this would be the reason why I would not play in the following matches.
"It's hard to tell if it was the true reason he gave me. I don't think it was and think there is something else behind it."
How can this be seen as anything other than accusing Rodgers of lying? For me, if a player can say such things in public it means that he doesn't fear and/or respect the manager.
Skrtel may well be right, but accusing your boss of lying in public is a massive mistake, and in my view, Rodgers should punish the defender for his comments. If Rodgers does nothing, it will just further undermine his authority at Anfield.
You don't see Man United players making public accusations against Alex Ferguson. They wouldn't dare as they know it would almost certainly mean the end of their Old Trafford careers. You just have to look at the Jaap Stam situation to know that's true.
I've argued all season that Rodgers has an inferiority complex at Liverpool, and this manifests itself in the endless cloying praise he heaps on individuals, even when it's massively undeserved.
Such an approach creates a lack of real respect for the manager, and this is could be one of the reasons why Skrtel has no fear of publicly accusing Rodgers of lying.
As for Skrtel's contention that there is 'something else behind' Rodgers' decision to bench him - I don't see how that's true. What else could it be? A personal problem? Skrtel's mistakes have cost Liverpool dearly this season, and he clearly deserved to be taken out of the team, and dissing the manager in public is not going to help him win back his place.
Zenit St. Petersburg are reportedly waiting in the wings with a €15m bid, and it wouldn't surprise me if Skrtel's comments are part of a calculated attempt to prepare the groundwork for a move away in the summer.
Sabotaging a relationship with the ulterior motive of bringing it to an end is a standard staple of personal relationships, and if Skrtel has one eye on a transfer, he'll obviously have less fear of being disciplined for criticising the boss.

You really are on your distruptive destructive destablise cycle.
ReplyDeleteEngineering a move away? Im not that fussed to be honest. But we will have to replace him with a really good defender. We should be able to get a nice sum for him though.
ReplyDeleteThere as been talk of a move to a club where the transfer window is still open(could be Zenit). If quotes in this article are true then it's one sure way to push through a move. On the other hand, what cover does the manager have if he does allow him to go now?
ReplyDeleteI see. So it's okay for players to accuse the manager of lying in public? Fans should just accept that and say nothing. How about I write an article praising Skrtel for doing this?
ReplyDeleteYou may be happy to see players casting aspersions against the manager in public, but I'm not. This stuff should be dealt with behind closed doors.
I must apologise though for not being part of the player-worship clique though. My bad.
If he wants to go then he can,
ReplyDeleteIt appears that he is engineering a move out of the club in the summer. I'm not surprised by the comments (if they're true), since BR has created a culture whereby he idolises his players, especially the senior stars. Unless Skrtel now releases a statement denouncing this report, otherwise BR must kick him out of the club or punish him some way, else his authority will be irrevocably undermined.
ReplyDeleteI think in Rodger's defence, if he was to waltz in to the club and start throwing out disciplines to the bigger players they would just lose interest with him and go. It is a delicate balance of managing their egos until he is the one in the power seat and can then threaten them.
ReplyDeleteJust checked............... He has till midnight on Wednesday to push through a move to Zenit if that is the intention.
ReplyDeleteThis follows quickly on the heels of a similar disruptive piece on Suarez - one you know to be a fabrication.
ReplyDeleteSkrtel has been poor this season and then he has the audacity to complain!
ReplyDeleteLook at Carragher! Did not play much this season but not a word of complaint from him. A true professional.
Skrtel take a left out of his book.
Zenit and come and get him.
Suarez is as straight as a die he plays firstly for fun - what he said in an interview a week or so ago made it as clear as clear can be that he is staying at Liverpool next season. I believe him. As for Skytle heading an own goal from a ball that was going wide (poor Coates got the blame when he did his bit putting the Olham guy off).
ReplyDeleteYea, Martin can go. Not bothered at all...In fact, would be happy to see the back of him. I've never liked him as a defender. In fact, Agger can go too. Did you know that 9 goals conceded this season was because of Agger mistakes, and 6 because of Skrtel mistakes. And all the mistakes they got away with too. They're just not good enough. We need serious centre backs this summer to come in and solidify what is becoming a disgusting defense.
ReplyDeleteJamie, I don't think you will get many disagreeing with you on this one. As soon as I read the comments, I thought he might as well just hand in a transfer request and get it over with. BR should come down on him like a ton of bricks for those comments in public. The sooner we git rid the better imo. If Zenit are offering 15 million we should definitely sell him in the summer.
ReplyDeleteJaimie i advise you to read the Liverpool Echo before writing such rubbish.
ReplyDeletethe exodus begins
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that so many are happy for Skrtel to leave on the basis that he has made mistakes this season. Not too long ago, he was player of the season. Furthermore, show me a footballer who has not made mistakes and cost their team goals. Someone or something has destroyed his confidence.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that the right way to deal with players who make mistakes is to drop them. If they're off form and it is persistent, then that's a different matter. If Skrtel does end up leaving, I hope BR has a 'man' to replace him with, and one of requisite quality at that.
It is also worth noting that the errors started to flow from our defence since BR came in and started pushing his footballing philosophy. Maybe he needed to promote a half-way house for the defence rather than insisting that they pass their way out of trouble. This is what has contributed to the defensive errors and lack of confidence.
We blatantly needed Carra's organisational skills at the back and Skrtel was the obvious choice to loose his place. How he can then suggest his own boss might not be truthful in public is beyond me. Sour grapes. He was given a chance again Oldham and was awful. If he thinks thats the standard he was last season, he's loosing his mind. Zenit have turned his head, and undermining your manager to the press does amount to engineering a move away, or he would have spoken to him in private.
ReplyDeleteYour argument that BR has an inferiority complex goes out of the window when you realise that Rodgers praises all the players not just the stars. I doubt Rodgers feels inferior to sterling and Henderson. I do believe though Skrtel's days at anfield is numbered. By the way Rodgers does not seem to like a weakling like you seem to think.
ReplyDeleteThe reason many are happy for him to leave (I wouldn't class myself as one of them btw) is because he's not a ball-playing centre back, which is the type of centre back we need with our current style of play. Hence why his form plummeted and the errors came back into his game.
ReplyDeleteClearly we need a ball-playing centre back with leadership skills to play alongside Agger in our starting XI. When we bring in such a player, can you imagine Skrtel being happy spending next season on the bench waiting for Agger to get injured? He's complaining now because he's missed a few games and been replaced by someone who's leaving anyway!!
we have roughly one game per week from now until the end of the season....we'll survive.
ReplyDeletethis is a good point, and Villas-Boas at Chelsea may be an example
ReplyDeleteBearing in mind that not many people on here were surprised when he was dropped (in fact it was expected after the Man U & Oldham games), i dont think he has a right to complain. Downing and Hendo gave "I will fight for my place" interviews in December and look what happened.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore Rodgers backed him after big mistakes cost us in the first two games of the season. Skrtl should repay that faith by not undermining him and moaning.
Agreed, he hasnt been at his best, and maybe him wanting to leave is part of the reason, if he does want to leave.
ReplyDeletewhy can't he realize that his mistakes has caused Liverpool to lose valuable points . But calling his boss a liar is not acceptable. BR has all the reasons to exclude him and put him on the bench. It is a shame he said such things in public after having so much support from fans. Now fans are not going to give him any respect. He ask for it.
ReplyDeletejaimie maybe skrtel is just giving rodgers a taste of his own medicine after all he has cast aspersions against some players in public on more than one occasion
ReplyDeletedid not seem to bother rodgers about not having cover for strikers at the beggining of the season
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Jason. I don't think he had much choice in that after he was promised one but never got one.
ReplyDeleteI take it you want him to go?
ReplyDeleteFrom the responses I've seen all over the net, I'm not sure fans are as concerned about having a ball-playing centre back as BR is, it's the errors that seem to concern them more. In any case, look at the mistakes Agger has made in recent times - very costly. It's obvious that the system is the reason why our defence has been so profligate, not whether the individuals can play the ball or not. That and the lack of decent midfield cover.
ReplyDeleteSkrtel probably will leave, but we'd be lucky to get a replacement that fits your description.
just saying if he wants him out and a deal can be struck it could well happen
ReplyDeleteAnd some of them players have hit form and have had a good run in the side.
ReplyDeleteSeems like your work is just how to bust up this team and its fans, always looking for these kind of news and statements, I dont think theres one player in lfc you didnt speculate about or accusing him for something, do the fans need this I wonder? As much as you try you wont get to your point which is making a conflict between us and the players, but really this is too low just to think about, how about writing articles for it, fans like this I never met, its pretty interesting, Id like to know more about these fans.
ReplyDeleteThat will make 3 1st team players out since Jan and only 2 1st team players in.
ReplyDeleteSell him hes been a calamity from the day he arrived at anfield guess the old adage is true form is tempoary class is permanent and he never had the latter
ReplyDeleteI agree that Rodgers needs to impose more authority, but that can only come after the team delivers results, otherwise that authority will have no basis among the players.Regarding Skrtel's comments, I am really surprised to read that. Would never expect that from him.
ReplyDeleteJaimie, I agree that Skrtel should be reprimanded for accusing his manager of lying. There's no excuse for it and worse off for Skrtel, Rodgers' decision has actually be a just one as Skrtel's form has been poor at times this year.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that I disagree with is that it would "further undermine" BR, which makes it sound like BR is being undermined on a relatively consistent basis.
I personally do not see that. Has it happened a time here or a time there? Possibly, although I can't remember a significant occasion off-hand.
But according to this article, Rodgers lavishes too much praise on individuals!
ReplyDelete:)
I disagree when people say you are on the disruptive path when you are reporting. I personally find that you are reporting the truth as you see it and giving it to the fans no matter that it isn't all fluffy and pretty.
ReplyDeleteOn to the article, I find that Rodgers does probably have an inferiority complex, that much I agree on. I think that Skrtel is being unreasonable, he has had poor form and is being punished by being on the bench, it's common sense really.
Secondly, I hope (mostly wish) that Rodgers deals with this inside the club, but the writing is indeed on the wall for Skrtel.
nevertheless whats good for the goose
ReplyDeletewell he dose that as well hes a real jeckel and hyde;-)
ReplyDeletebut thats the way we have been since last summer so whats to stop it now
ReplyDeletethought he was in the power seat or is this another of our rebuilding stages is he going to show them who the boss is in 3or4 years time then start managing
ReplyDeleteYeah Exactly! We're not the force we once were unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteit happened in the summer
ReplyDeletejaimie really think you need to update your comment policy, because the amount of comments getting removed which imo pass all your criteria is beyond a joke,
ReplyDeletehes a real jeckel and hide is rodgers;-)
ReplyDeleteIs this how you want it though? If we carry on like this every window then the squad will have way too many youngsters in the squad which in turn will have a knock on effect at all levels.
ReplyDeleteoh thats ok then if rodgers goes to the press about players he should expect the same treatment back, whats good for the goose is good for the gander
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I wouldn't mind seeing the back of Skrtel. I think he is vastly overrated and we could find a better centre back than him. He makes too many simple mistakes a player his age shouldn't make.
ReplyDeletepretty foolish move by Skrtel. It is the the way modern football seems to work, with every player having to go public about things. Its a shame. Whatever Rodgers said to him should stay behind closed doors, unless the manager wants to make it public. The reason sounds fair to me, and tbh it looks like Skrtel isn`t willing to accept maybe its his performances which have resulted in him not being picked. Confidence is good in a player, but ego isn`t, and it`s time he lost his a bit.
ReplyDeletewe will never really know what he was promised, and if it was his fault or FSG`s or Aryes. Personally I would think it was down to FSG and Aryes, as I can`t see many managers not wanting more players. The truth though will never be 100% known
ReplyDeleteand even if you are, player power is so high now it don`t matter how much of a force you are, it still happens, look at Chelsea, and even Man city have had a few issues with player power.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly has. I feel like copy and pasting all the quotes made by the owners regarding transfers. It does make an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with you on this one Jaimie.
ReplyDeleteNot only does his comments accuse BR of lying to him, (how else can they be interpreted?) but also insinuates that he lied because he was 'frightened' or fearful of upsetting one of his players? ....Really?
That absolutely makes no sense and I'm sure if Skrtel himself reads back what he said, then he must be cringing....(unless he does actually want that move away.)
Downing was clearly unhappy about being benched and indeed being told he could find another team; but regardless of what people do or don't think of his abilities, his response must be applauded.
In comparison, Skrtel has obviously been around the youths too much as his petulance has overcome him. Instead of making comments that can be read into in whichever way you deem to take it, he should have shown the class expected of a previous player of the year winner and proven his first eleven necessity.
I believe this has given all parties concerned the green light to making his name the next of our departures....
no i do not want it like this but to have a good squad costs money and wages something fsg are trying to reduce
ReplyDeleteThat's his job though Jason. Surely we need a 'boss' at the helm who is admired for telling players how it is. All the best managers have and do, do this.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine Shanks, Cloughie or indeed Fergie, taking any of that from one of theirs?
It is however, NOT the player's job or responsibility, to publicly rate himself so highly, that the only reason for leaving him out is based on nothing more than a lie.
Damn son. That's got to be wrong in anyone's eyes surely?
He as been accused of over praising too. I have no problem with the manager critisizing players if it gets the reaction it did with certain players. I think it shows a lack of respect on skrtel's part for player who replaced him.
ReplyDeleteThat's why sometimes a little clarity on the issue is needed and made by those in the appropriate position to do so.
ReplyDeleteInstead they seem to further confuse.
I am not berating FSG as a whole, but Werner says we can compete financially with anyone, then Ayre says if we had gotten Dempsey we would not possibly have had the funds for the Sturridge deal.
Which is it?
Someone will possibly now condemn this as me not appreciating FSG and seeing what they have done so wonderfully for our club.
That is not the issue I am dealing with here, just a necessity for all their statements to be clear and direct. Eliminating the need to second guess intentions of actions when things don't go to plan.
I must have just put four or five comments up and every one has been removed. Can't remember being offensive in any!
ReplyDeleteOff topic but EUFA have said Suarez has no case to answer for
ReplyDeleteAin't you and Jaimie doint the same thing???? I really wanna see you two managing a Playstation FIFA team before I take anything you say seriously...Nothing productive!! It's always easy to be a critic. As matter of fact QUESTION to the both of you if I may...: WHO SHOULD BE MANAGING, PLAYING AND OWNING LFC???
ReplyDeleteWell, He hasn't even been here a full season yet so I would say he is in the rebuilding stage. You can't expect a manager to come to a team and sort it out in 1 transfer window when he hasn't had the chance to see which players will suit the season. Some transfers, no matter how wise they seem will always fail. We are slowly getting there Jason. Have some patience! I do commend your passion though.
ReplyDeletealready said that m8 in another post
ReplyDeletei don,t expect him to sort it out straight away but i fear he may be doing to little to late
ReplyDeleteyes m8 ive ended up posting some things twice
ReplyDeleteyes m8 ive ended up posting some things twice:-))
ReplyDeleteshock horror so no public flogging then;-)
ReplyDeleteoh your asking ? now i prefere the usual tripe you normally post to me
ReplyDeleteI was having that issue about two weeks ago; I think it's something to do with the program as opposed to Jaimie.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had the issue more recently though
im shocked by you Jamie ,
ReplyDeleteyou say you dont support cheating BUT isnt lieing the same as CHEATING ...
Just soo U know this is the 2nd Player to confess to the media that Breadon Rogers HAS LIED to them >>>
First Sahin and now Skrytl, where ders smoke their fire ... and for me thats disgusting , a manager than lies to players because he is not bold enough to tell his player a hard truth is a coward ....
Just by the way Skrytl was our player of the year last year and a defensive Rock ... Under BR Carra < Johnson < Agger and Skrytl have gone backwards and in the last few games before Swansea conceeded 9 goals in 4 matches ...........
Rodgers is the one that should go, and FSG should sell to some one with ambition.
ReplyDeleteso guess AVB < Laudrup and Clarke are miracle workers then , cuz each of them has improved their teams BUT none of them has discussed in length in the media how poor the teams were before them , how the gonna make us better and how its gonna take a really looong time ............
ReplyDeletePls aVBs spurs are 3rd now ...
how do you then explain how those two were in the 3 rd best defense last season ???? and skrytl was voted the player of the season ???
ReplyDeleteive made the point that we went from the 3rd best defense under KK and Clarke to absolute SHITE this season ....Talk about Carra in the games hes played barring Swansea hes let 2 goals go in practically every match...... aggers been poor , coates poor , wisdoms made mistakes , johnsons made mistakes , downing made mistakes as left back ....
ReplyDeleteYou can blame 1 player for poor form BUT when the entire defensive backline has gone badly backwards you have to blame the manager and his very poor tactical abaility
maybe skirtel is trying to engineer a move...perhaps he gets more money if we push him out rather than him asking
ReplyDeleterogers doesnt tell tham how it is though ...he says there good when they are pants
ReplyDeletereally selef if jaimie was posting all roses and puppies it would make for one boring forum...im all in favour of Jk cranking it up a notch and getting off the fence
ReplyDeletethe problem i have with skirtel and agger is they comes out with skinhead and tats ...and are soft as sh*te
ReplyDeleteplease no reading your stuff once is bad enough ..lol
ReplyDeleteYour crap and should be plating for Bangor city, that why your not in the tem.
ReplyDeleteI personally believe jaimie & gilstrap is the same person..
ReplyDeleteKeyboard warrior!
bottom line is..........skrtel has been shite all the time he has been at lfc apart from a half decent season last time.
ReplyDeleteanyone who thinks otherwise is just clueless, he is a weak link and with the likes of him wearing the shirt we will not be moving forward.
for a player to have to publically criticise the manager shows lack of bollox, bit like his defending at times. poor attitude and one who obviously thinks hes to good for the club.
agger isn't much better as in being a week link, but he does love the club.
Rumours has it that Rodgers and Skirtel had a disagreement after the manure and then the Oldham game about defensive set up, Carra sided with Skirtel and said he has played with him and he knows what he is on about (Skirtel) A couple of days later Carra throws his hand in and retires. From what I have been told players think BR is a Bu###<#tter
ReplyDeletehe makes mistakes every season. a lot of them. his only good season was last year.
ReplyDeleteThis is what you call NEGATIVE framing. Why don't you post up the full interview and then fans like ourselves will learn of Skrtel's determination to get back into the squad through honest POSITIVE work ethic. If he needs to chat with Rodgers further about his omission from the squad he is more than entitled to do so, especially when he is at an age where he should be playing every game and NOT sitting on the bench.
ReplyDeletePublicly or behind doors, doesn't it seem odd to us fans that Skrtel is on the bench? Its fueling the imagination that there is a falling out between the player and manager, and that there are disagreements. So this scrutinizing of a player coming out in public about what he thinks isn't harmful as much as people putting there own spin on things. Very ironic that Jaime thinks this is harming the LFC image. For me Rodgers is testing Skrtel's resolve and it has got nothing to do with tactics, I think he's trying to get him to perform even better when he is selected, but it could also be Carragher's retirement.Who knows the truth?!! because I'm not buying what Rodgers is saying. Carragher is a one club wonder, and personally I think it IS kind of selfish that he announced retirement at a time in the season where big games were coming up for one final hooray. But at the same time I want him to go out with a bang, because we could really do with a 22 year old Carragher atm. From my knowledge Rodgers hasn't come out and said anything about Skrtel so its all been dealt with "behind closed doors". Any further insights into this matter is just blowing it up into something that IS tarnishing the LFC image. I hope that Jaime Kanwar understands.
Cast aspersions ? I don't think so.Casting aspersions relates to slander or spiteful commentary.Rodgers saying a player is not performing is neither slanderous nor spiteful. It may not be your chosen style of management, but then what is?
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find the press come to him,ask questions, and he answers.
ReplyDeleteGuess that's what happens when you hire a manager who's won ? and then comes in and talks like he knows everything. ;)
ReplyDeleteSometimes the comments do get stuck in some queue - that's what I've experienced - they don't show up until quite a bit of time later. Weird.
ReplyDeleteTypical sidestep haha.I suppose we might also say that calling BR a bottler and saying he should start Stirling, yet four days later saying Stirling is a one trick pony and has gone of the boil could be a bit.... Jekyll and Hyde !!
ReplyDeletewhen you've sweat blood and tears like carra has, you can announce your retirement when you feel like it.
ReplyDeletehe deserves all the plaudits.
skrtel is pushing for a move out the door, good ridence hes crap
Must have missed something. At what point does Skrtel accuse BR of lying... in quotations please.
ReplyDeleteKeep up man ..... LFC have the second highest number of clean sheets in the Prem this season. So if we're shite there are 18 worse.
ReplyDeleteJaimie lists it above in the post:
ReplyDeleteSkrtel said: "It's hard to tell if that was the true reason he gave me. I don't think it was and think there is something else behind it."
Kind of surprised that you'd choose to defend Skrtel and use this as an opportunity to criticize Carragher.
ReplyDelete1. Skrtel said that the manager spoke with him but he feels as though he was misled. Jaimie's reference here is a pretty cut and dry quote.
2. I read the rest of the quotes (that I could find) and he explains that he was pulled after the ManU match and in that time when he hasn't been a regular, he's gotten injured, halting his comeback.
I don't think that Jaimie leaving that out affects the overall sticking point of his post, which is that Skrtel has some explaining to do for needlessly saying that his manager lied to him.
3. Carragher explained the he announced his retirement so it WOULDN'T be a distraction. And by all accounts, he's accomplished that.
4. I would also make the argument that he may have done it as an extra source of motivation for the team to try and make a run in Europa or for 4th. Obviously that hasn't worked out.
Yes, you clearly missed something.
ReplyDeleteUm, because we have now changed the way we play and SKRTEL* doesn't suit our style. As far as Agger is concerned, he's basically just lost it this season and switches off far too often...
ReplyDeleteYes, you're right, Islesfan. The comment software (Disqus) is notoriously glitchy. I'm actually thinking about switching to something else.
ReplyDeleteHonestly do you want the team to do well or are you just bitchin just to bitch
ReplyDeleteNo player should be allowed to belittle the manager in public , media etc.
ReplyDeleteSkrtle should be put in the chiller and frozen out for the rest of the season. It is unacceptable for a player to criticize the Manager.
I think Buck praises his players in the media way too much. But I would think that in private they do get their share of tongue lashing. for fcukups.
Play Martin Kelly not Martin Squirrel
ReplyDeleteAll the more reason to get rid. We can improve our defence and make a statement at the same time. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteBut Jaimie, my oh my...are you okay?
'Sabotaging a relationship with the ulterior motive of bringing it to an end is a standard staple of personal relationships.'
Egads!
I don't know who hurt you, but I am sorry.
C'mon buddy. Need a hug?
Skrtel is wrong to critisize the manager publicly, We are seeing alot more of this business where players are deliberately undermining managers. (Most recently the chelsea players and anyone who managers them).
ReplyDeleteI hope liverpool dont start throwing wobblies to get BR fired or any manager cause its just depressing.
Also regarding BR's over praising of player? Haters gonna hate i think.
He praises them too much, he's too hard for critisising them after a bad game.
I suppose he could always just ignore the questions and he rude to the reporters? OH WAIT KD DID THAT AND HE WAS BAGGED FOR DOING IT ALSO!
Lol.... Good one
ReplyDeletehaha, that's a good one mate !
ReplyDeleteYou mean like Motermouth Rodgers does ?
ReplyDeleteDid you know that any goal scored anywhere is down to the mistake of someone?
ReplyDeleteThought it already began when Alonso left.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that team got ripped apart. That side could of been one of the all time greats imo.
ReplyDeleteThe press ran with virtually the same headline the next day and all the quotes made by the manager and Aryes point to the same thing. While we can never be 100% sure you can only go on statements made by people at the club.
ReplyDeleteDifficult to say whether it would have been one of the "all time great", though it only went downhill from then on.
ReplyDeleteSkrtel has made a fewcostly errors this season,I wonder if anyone on here knows exactly how many,I remember Man City home,Brom away but that's it
ReplyDeletelol he goes to the press or his he just thick
ReplyDeleteI'd speculate that he's trying to engineer a move. But whether he is our not it shows arrogance on his part given his poor form and completely justified dropping from the team.
ReplyDeleteIf Zenit put in a €15+ plus bid in for him before their transfer window closes I'd let him go. Realistically we're not going to qualify for the Champions League so this is probably a good time to find out if Wisdom or Kelly are capable of filling one of the CB spots
agree m8 say it to the player but not the press
ReplyDeleteif the team was half performing i would be happy but one decent game in four pisses me off
ReplyDeleteagree m8
ReplyDeletecheap but true lol
ReplyDeleteits normally all right for me but been a bit touchy lately
ReplyDeletevery interesting imo the players do not seem to happy under rodgers
ReplyDeleteHe can't seem to do anything right in some eyes can he my friend?
ReplyDeleteYou see, we're not so different after all. We support the same team and agree on at least one issue !
ReplyDelete:-)
I don't have a skinhead but the tatts are definitely there.
ReplyDeleteMust remember to have them out at all times so people think I'm tough. (or does that ONLY apply if you have the skinhead too?)
True Dat!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteIf you do can you keep it that we can link it to our phones as when I'm at work, (not today, on a sickie!) I like to see who is replying to what ?
ReplyDeleteSorry mate, no offence meant here, but something smells distinctly off about what you're saying.
ReplyDeleteRodgers is the manager. He has to try and get the best from individual players as he sees fit. Players should play that's it. As Jamie said how many united players criticise AF and live to see the next season. He has dumped world class players at the first hint of descent. IF skrtel really did that that then I suspect he days are numbered. Even if he didn't I think they are.
ReplyDeleteWhether you rate Rodgers or not (I know you don't) while he is the boss players need to respect that, publicly at least.
agree m8 but when rodgers runs to the press about players ,players lose there respect for him,so if he can do that to them he must expect the same to happen to him
ReplyDeletewhy,s it a sidestep do you read allthe posts i get off superfan,he lucky he got any reply at all m8;-)
ReplyDeleteNo, not necessarily. Seriously? do you know football? And anyway, if we are looking at so many mistakes by the same player you think it's ok? You probably think Kvarme back in the day was harshly done by because all he did was make a few errors.. lol.
ReplyDeleteSimple ,he asked a question... you didn't answer = Sidestep!
ReplyDeleteWould you come up with a few examples of goals that didn't result from a mistake by the defending team, please. You portray yourself as someone who knows football very well, so this shouldn't be a problem for you at all.
ReplyDeleteRead it All again still missing the accusation of lying, i do see the "Its hard to tell if that was the real reason he gave me. I DONT THINK it was and THINK there is something else behind it". Having a difference of opinion, and thinking something different does not constitute lying. I am presently having a different opinion than you- i'm not accusing you of telling lies.
ReplyDeleteso basically changing our way of play has made us worse .......
ReplyDelete6th in defense this season after 3rd last season and 8th position ...the table doesnt lie
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not suited some of our players. Mainly the defense
ReplyDeletelet's start with Gareth Bale's wonder goal on Monday. Who made the mistake? it was just pure class. He was on the floor, stood up, was given the ball by his teammate and just used a great technique to score.
ReplyDeleteCan you send me a link to a video clip please so I can have a look at it.
ReplyDeleteno, do your own due diligence
ReplyDeleteNo, I won't. I'll stick with what I've claimed (but slighty change it). Most goals scored are down to some kind of mistake by someone in the defending team. I've been watching football long enough (and play it too) to know it.
ReplyDeleteSack him. Not Skrtel but Rodgers, sack Rodgers and take Benitez off us. Please, just take Benitez. We'll pay you to take him. JUST TAKE HIM!
ReplyDeleteNo chance.
ReplyDeleteLFC need to sell Martin Skrtel when good offer is coming to the clubs. LFC will struggle and suffer to keep the players who always make the mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't actually call him foolish without knowing his motives behind the comments. If he does want to stay at the club then in my opinion it's a foolish way of going about it.
ReplyDeletefair point, I do find it hard to think FSG dont want us to win stuff, as surely that is in the best interests of there pockets, so I can only put it down to a lack of knowledge about how football works
ReplyDeleteIf he wants to leave, then I can see his idea might work, but it also risks getting no more game time till the end of the season, thus making less clubs want him, and us getting less cash for him. I would prefer he just spoke to the manager behind closed doors and said, listen I want to leave, why not give me as much game time as you can, I will play the best I can, as I want to go to a big club, and you will get more cash for me. Win Win that way. Now though it could mean he doesn`t play again, and we get low cash, and he goes to a lower club. Time will tell on this one.
ReplyDeleteSkrtel just refusing to take the blame he caused us the games. Prefer to blame others. He was bad of late n I can't believe I actually preferred Carragher to him since the blunders. He should accept it as Agger did. Instead he did the Jonjo . Immature 28yr old.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they thought the tattoo should help intimidate opponents...But turned out too intimate.
