Of all the young players currently breaking through at Anfield, Suso, IMO, has the most exciting potential, and after excellent performances against Manchester United, West Brom, and Norwich, the youngster will hopefully follow in the footsteps of Raheem Sterling and become a fixture in the first team. It could've all been so different though as the talented Spaniard could quite easily be playing somewhere else right now.
Speaking to the official Liverpool FC website today, Rodgers described Suso as 'technically gifted', and praised the 'big progression' he's made over the last two months. However, Rodgers also revealed that Suso could've left in the summer. He explained:
"We had offers for him to go abroad but he was keen to stay, he understood he was going to get a chance here.
"He is tactically very good, strong technically with the ball. He makes things happen. I love that type of player. Talent finds space. He is a real talent".
Suso recently admitted he is Real Madrid fan, but he managed to resist the lure of the Bernabeu when Madrid came calling, and he has no regrets about choosing Anfield. He told Cope:
"I had agreed on a contract with Real Madrid, and the transfer was basically done, but then Rafael Benitez called me and told me he had a lot of confidence in me and that I should go to Liverpool. I'm glad I made this decision. I love this club and it is the best for me"
Rodgers confirmed yesterday that he plans to looking into awarding Suso a new contract, and hopefully it will be soon; the offers came in once, an they will inevitably come in again, so the sooner the 18-year old is totally off the market, the better.

I agree with u on this Jamie 100%. I think Suso will b a top player. The sooner the contract is signed the better. Muchos gracias seƱor Rafa Benitez. YNWA
ReplyDeleteLots of people, especially the "boffin" jaimie kanwar, do not appreciate what Rafa did for the club, both on and off the field! So, Mr Tormentor -in - chief of Rafa Benitez, you don't know the difference between a legend and the barn door!
ReplyDeletegreat little player with a mature head and bags of talent, really exciting these young players coming through
ReplyDeleteSuso, Wisdom, Robinson, Sterling, Pacheco, then add Torres, Mascherano,Aberloa, Benayoun, Kuyt, Alonso, Lucas, Agger, Skrtel, Reina, Johnson, we would really be close to that EPL crown
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that he signs up, could easily head home.
ReplyDeleteBR's trust in him will hopefully seal the deal
HHe is a talent, indeed.because we have been looking for a playmaker of silva like wish him de best long tym at liverpool
ReplyDeleteWe have to bear in mind that talent can only be nurtured with patience. We (and Rodgers) may not see the best of the talents we have available for a few seasons.
ReplyDeleteIf players like suso, Cody, sterling, wisdom, sterling etc are going to fulfil their potential then we need to have faith in the manager and his principles, which are much more for forward thinking than the last 2 regimes.
Suso is the best prospect I have seen at Liverpool at his age probably since Gerrard. An incredible talent with the world at his feet and yes a big thank you to Rafa. Mr Rodger's is certainly benefiting from work done by Rafa and the academy. Both in the talent at his disposal and the style of play that was implemented.
ReplyDeleteI have always been a Suso admirer since the first time I saw him play for Spain U-19. He is a real talent and I was very pleased when Brendan recognized his talent and plays him. He will grow with games.
ReplyDeleteI have posted before that that talented young lads from around
ReplyDeletethe world will be keen to join Liverpool , knowing as long as they have
talent & the right attitude they will get their chance to shine.
See how he found space to go forward without a need of dribble at 3.32 with only one touch passing..great
ReplyDeleteAnd Gerrard is still getting to the system but i can already see some improvement..with confidence it shall be fine...Check out the passing from suso to gerrard at 1.00, gerrard cud hv used his bombarding change of pace style to drfit to right side of suso...where else suso was waiting to go centre mid... By doing this, we cud hv held possession further up field instead of going backwards.
Brian is right Kanwar. You are a buffoon! The sooner you grace the internet of the absence of your self-important self, the better for the rest of humanity! History has already had its fair share of demagogue.
ReplyDeleteYou're not one of us no matter how much you think you are
YAWA (You'll always walk alone)
Too keep Rafa's work from not going in vain we need to keep bringing in talented young players for the future.
ReplyDeleteMy only worry is we may not have the same scouts and we have lost Jose Segura. We still have Rafel Borrell so hopefully he can carry on the good work.
Have always thought he was really good, and im really glad he is starting for the 1st team now. Bright future ahead for him! He reminds me of Mata and Alonso mixed together
ReplyDeleteAlso RAFA was scouting Suarez on 3 occasions
ReplyDeleteActually Jamie has praised Rafa over many things he did for the club..no one is above criticism, and yes that includes Rafa.
ReplyDeleteWrong reply mate

ReplyDeleteI was crying for KD to give him a chance last season, especially when we had nothing to play for in the league but pride.
ReplyDeleteI do like Brendan Rodgers and will do my best not to throw negativity at our current situation. I do believe he deserves as much time as can be afforded. He’s a decent man and I’ve been lucky enough to have played in the same team as him (once), a testimonial.
ReplyDeleteMy dilemma is…
We’re building a team using the youngsters Rafa brought in but are we building it in the way that Rafa would have?? Obviously the answer’s no because every manger builds his team in his own image.
I can see another Arsenal being born, we’ll play attractive football without winning anything. Arsenal have suffered due to lack of a plan B. Their players leave that club and can’t play at other clubs because they’re not complete players, they can only play one way.
In building a team to conquer everything and that would be my aim, my team would play against Norwich like we did and the following week we’d play like Stoke if necessary.
Since Dalglish’s 1st stint in charge, the best manager ‘The Mighty Reds’ have had is Rafa’s gaffa.
Why build a ‘Tika taka’ team if you can’t/ won’t beat Barcelona at it? Mourinho currently one of (if not) the best manager in the World went to Real Madrid and built a team that can play a number of different styles in order to take the crown from Barca..
Anyhow.. Let's see if we can get some Champions league football next season and keep hold of Nuri Sahin! YNWA

We also need it to be worth their while staying. Finishing 4-6th or worse every season and not paying the going rate in wages will not keep them at Liverpool. Unless they are lifelong, born and bred Scouse reds, then just playing for Liverpool is not enough.
ReplyDeletewhy not give rafa the job of chief scout
