'He is fantastic!' - LFC send scouts to watch exciting 'top 50' Belgian star. Bid?

With a new scouting network in place under Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool are currently scouring the globe to find the best young players available, and the latest youngster linked with the club is Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet.

Liverpool were linked with the youngster during the 2011 summer transfer window, and according to reports in Belgium, the Reds sent scouts to watch the 18-year old in Anderlecht's 2-0 victory against Waasland-Beveren last Friday, a game in which ex-Red Milan Jovanovic missed an open goal after an excellent cross from Praet.

Liverpool Scouts were not the only interested observers during the game; representatives from clubs across Europe were also at the game to watch Praet - dubbed 'the next Eden Hazard - so it looks like there will be stiff competition should the Reds decide to make a move.

Praet is is under contract at Anderlecht until 2015, and Anderlect general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck is confident that the youngster will go on to become a top player. He enthused:

"Dennis has proven that he has what it takes to become a fantastic player, in the future, he will go on to become one of the pillars of our team"

In the September edition of 'World Soccer' Praet was named one of the top 50 prospects in world football.

  1. Bit early to say whether he'll be worth all the fuss, but then we should rather get him before he becomes unaffordable to us (given the scouts have seen enough in him).

  5. @ JK
No offence but overall i find that your website is always suggesting and criticizing liverpool players and also manipulating or trying to influnce liverpool fans with all the negative perspective about players,Are you really a liverpool fan or in disguise?? Only yourself know.I never heard any mans fans criticize their players even to the extend of cantona's kungfu kick, ronaldo's dive or evra's handshake, your suggestion about players is even harsher than a manager against their players.I strongly feel you are the mans virus in the KOP because of your witch hunt perspective toward
    liverpool players and fans comment.
