'I'll sign!' - Suso confirms he'll sign new Liverpool contract

Liverpool starlet Suso has confirmed that he will definitely sign a new deal at Anfield.

Speaking to Onda Cera today, the 18-year old said:

"Liverpool is the ideal club for me.

"I'll sign a new deal soon and be here for a long time.

"The fans can relax, it'll be done as soon as possible."

In an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca last week, Suso admitted that he is a Real Madrid fan, and that he's supported Los Blancos since he was a child.

I'm sure many Reds fans secretly feared that the midfielder would eventually move to the Bernebeau, but thankfully, it looks like that won't happen for a few years yet.

Suso's current contract expires in 2013, and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers recently revealed that he could've left in the summer. He explained:

"We had offers for him to go abroad but he was keen to stay, he understood he was going to get a chance here.

"He is tactically very good, strong technically with the ball. He makes things happen. I love that type of player. Talent finds space. He is a real talent".

This is great news! Of all the young players currently breaking through at Anfield, Suso, IMO, has the most exciting potential, and it's heartening to hear that he loves the club and wants to stay.

  4. IMO a supporting front 3 of Suso, Shelvey and Sterling is about as exciting as it comes. Cant wait to be watching these guys in about 3 years time, hopefully by then we will be back in the champions league. They will all still be less than 24 years old!

  5. I really think that Suso is the player to replace Gerrard !!

This boy has it all, he can pass it short or long, he shoots extremely well, he also has an eye for a pass (those superb through balls you need to unlock tight defenses), he dribbles past players with ease and rarely loose the ball.

All in all, Suso is the perfect player for Rodgers type of football.

  8. That really is good news. I don't want to slag of Kenny Dalglish, but those who still think that he should have stayed our manager at least another season may take note of what Suso, too, had to say: The truth is, I thought that might be a problem and that things might get worse. But Roy Hodgson came in and he was the opposite of what I feared: he called me up to train with the first team, I travelled with them and was included in the squad at times. It is true that I felt a bit of a change with Kenny Dalglish but in general the departure of Rafa wasn't the problem that I thought it might be.

Praise for Hodgson and cautious words for KD. To me it seems that he didn't see a future for him with us with Kenny at the helm.

  9. Absolutely made up with this news. Like everyone else I'm convinced this kid is a star in the making. Oozes class.

As soon as pen meets paper on his contract I'm gonna take a risk and go buy myself a Suso shirt. Where's the risk I hear you say ?

I'm gonna get the no.10 on it. Hand it over Joe Cole.

He'll be wearing it in 2013/14 that's my prediction, or I've wasted my money !

  14. Its great that he will be signing a new contract but and he looks like a great long term replacement for gerrard but if in 3 years he is brilliant, he will be gone to madrid. what we have to realise, the better he gets, the closer he will be to going to real. Unless BR can get liverpool in the same realms as madrid in the next couple of years, once this lad has cemented his skills he will be gone. he supports madrid, loves the club so there will be no stopping him, especially if madrid are still winning titles. imagine if you where a young footballer in the 80's when liverpool where winning everything domestically and your a quaility youngster at madrid, who comes from liverpool, loves liverpool and supports them, if they came calling would you go, bloody right you would!!!!

  19. awesome costas , we all need to get behind manager,, BR, he's got vision he's looking to bring in class youngsters he's got the respect of the owners the youngsters in quad , his energy is powerful too he's attack minded . the young guns is our future , i for one think next season we'll be a powerful attacking force just like in the 70's when i was in the anfield road end singing our war chat , the RD END , united will never be defeated !!!! we was united together back then

  20. Reckon ur right uno Ryan. So much so, I'm gonna do the same. The kid stands out and will be truly world class. 10 shirt for Suso...pass it on!

  21. Houllier won 5 trophies at Liverpool in 12 months, BR will settle for that for now!!!

  22. I agree and the reason they signed for united and not liverpool was??? they where winning the league. If liverpool do not start to qualify for CL then older players will leave for CL (agger, skrtel, reina, surez etc) this means either trying to sign players as good, which will probably not happen or have an academy team as your 1st team which will not work in the long run. I love the fact liverpool has all of this talent but in order to keep it we need results otherwise we will watch them leave. Every player has ambition and they will stay at a club if it is meeting their own aspiration, however if their boy hood club is wanting them and they will achieve their ambition there, then why would'nt they leave?? In conclusion, BR now needs to get liverpool up the table. I believe he will and can but, like KD if he does'nt why should he be given more time. I said it when hodgson came and dalglish and when BR come. they are brought in to make us better and better means results and league position. last yr people where not happy with two cup finals as the target was 4th and faliure meant the sack. so if BR does not get 4th and we finish mid table, what then??? what people also fail to remeber is out ex assistant manager is overachieving with a west brom side that was odds on to go down, if he can get it right and start to produce results, within the same time frame and with less resources never having ever managed a club, then why cant BR!!!!

  24. suso signing is good news, and as for moving on I think the boy understands the small fish big pond/big fish small pond syndrome would play out if he moved to real now! so the question is how long before he is the big fish, well that means games, so great for LFC,

In the mean time let's think positive young talant begining to gel, team looking better going forward, old players with the threat of competition, what really is the accepted minimum requirement for BR, LFC and us fans this season? Kenny was judged and fell on his sword based upon the situation he created, but is BR tasked in one season to get to 4th plus? personally I suspect not, as the situation is different, myself as a LFC fan this season I feel top 6 is achievable, as for other teams fortunes I simply don't care

  25. Suso is a great kid, will be a top player no doubt, but we are shit, and that's about the bottom line. I'm a hopeful that Rodgers will steer us in the right direction and optimistic he can, but only optimistic. Liverpool is my club, but seems like a poisoned chalice for any manager.

I hate it but seems like we are now a stepping stone club.

Take for example us being crap when when we play in front of our home fans against Stoke? Teams like stoke (with no disrespect) can expect a result? Well they bloody well deserved a point if not more.

That wasn't possible 25yrs ago, Seems like the norm these days.

Our youth should be give a chance and I firmly believe in this, yet to what sacrifice? Us being even Shitter than we are now and destroying youth confidence?

Talent like Suso should be nailed down to a contract, I've seen the kid since he came here playing in Liv Youths / Reserves in Warrington's ground, & Utterly Wasted while playing there.

I believe in the Liverpool Philosophy now, but we are again, quite frankly, shit and if I'm hopeful (to say the least), I hope that that we at least finish in the top half of the table, but got to be honest, I doubt it (but I owe my boys a drink and will fork out if we do finish there).

At least if in this modern era, I can see Man City Surpass Man Poo as Dominant, It may keep me content.

If I see the the Liver Bird Rise Again, to challenge Europe's Greatest & dominate, that would be Bliss. I Hope that we all Scouser's (me) & & all that support this great club around the world see those glory days again.

Ruins me while I watch mancs :(
