'There are rumours' - €19m Brazil star scouted by LFC reveals future plans...

Lazio owner Claudio Lotito has emphatically ruled out the sale of Liverpool target Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Andrade Lima, aka Hernanes, arguing that the Serie A giants do not need to sell.

The €19m-rated Brazilian attacking midfielder has been linked with Liverpool several times over the last six months, and according to ESPN, the 27-year old was scouted by the Reds in April 2012.

In an interview earlier this week, Lotito was asked about speculation linking Hernanes with a January move abroad, and Lazio's owner delivered the following strong response:

“We are ignoring offers from other teams, because we do not need to sell him.”

"Hernanes is a strong-willed guy with huge force of concentration. He has big transfer value, but we are ignoring that because he is not on the market.

"We're not worried about other teams, and we won't sell even if we get an indecent proposal".

The player himself appears to be settled in Rome, and this week, he refuted rumours that he came close to leaving in the summer, and made it clear he plans to stay with Lazio:

"There have been a lot of rumours, but I never spoke with Milan, and I was at no point close to joining them.

"I am very happy with life at Lazio. I have always said that I enjoy life here in Rome."

Hernanes has made 8 appearances for the Brazil national team.

  1. Watched Malaga vs AC Milan in the week. Isco looks like the attacking young midfielder Liverpool could do with. He would slot into Barcelona without any hesitation. Lots of short intricate passing, movement off the baal, tight control. Great to watch.

  2. would be nice to have his level of technical skill to call upon. He can have Cole's number 10 shirt if he wants. Already bogged down with a lot of people playing in the same position, but i feel the club is need for someone of his technical ability.
