Confirmed: LFC in transfer talks with Dinamo for exciting £2.8m attacker...

Liverpool are interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozović, and according to his Agent, the Reds have already sent scouts to watch the player in action.

Speaking to TMW, Brozovic's representative, Miroslav Bicanic, said:

"Liverpool scouts have been following him for a long time now and I know they have spoken with the Croatian club.

"It's too early to talk about prices, but I have heard he could be worth €3.5million (£2.8m).

"He is a player with a great engine, but also two good feet. He plays a bit like (Andrea) Pirlo."

Zagreb clearly know that they have a top player on their hands; why else would they sign Brozović to a seven year deal, which is due to expire in 2019?

Looks to me like they prepared for the inevitable, and tied him down to a long contract to ensure that whoever buys him will have to pay through the nose.

The 19-year old has struggled to impose himself for Zagreb this season; he's played only two games - both in the Champions League - and been on the losing side both times.

Taking into account first-teamers and young players close to making a breakthrough, Liverpool are clearly oversubscribed in the midfield department, so I can't see how it makes much sense to bring in yet another young midfielder.

That area of the pitch is not a priority right now, and I'm sure most Reds fans would agree that any transfer funds that become available must be spent on strikers.

  9. We are a club in the premier league with fans that Dream off passed history and losing is now big part off our history . We cant even put together a best 11 players every liverpool fan sit down put pen to paper pick your best 11 and who is back up in those positions . the fact is shocking. We have owners who i think really dont have money to put in and are living off the sponsorship dollars only not there own . Dont forget we got 50 mil for torres they did not spend 100mil and the fans in a poll wanted 75% rafa at least top 4 would off been there. We are turning to the junoir players rafa signed. We rodgers so he buys cheaps players like borini and the director of football signs the players . Would alex fergerson not pick his players ? At least back rodgers with money to buy world class players not english style players or bargins near 30 years of age.
