Come on, LFC! Let's have a repeat of this 4-0 thrashing in 1990 (VIDEO)

It's that time again: Liverpool vs. Manchester United at Anfield, arguably the biggest Premier League game of the season. There have been some amazing clashes between the two clubs down the years but Liverpool's 4-0 thrashing of United in 1990 is my personal favourite victory against the Mancs during the Alex Ferguson era.

At the start of the 1990-91 season, Liverpool won their first 10 games in all competitions, with 8 straight wins in the league, scoring 28 goals in the process.

It was a magnificent run of results, the best of which was the 4-0 drubbing of United at Anfield.

At the time, Kenny Dalglish was in charge, and Liverpool were reigning champions, and played the most exciting football in the league. On the day, Peter Beardsley grabbed a great hat-trick, and the magnificent John Barnes scored the other goal.

It was a pulsating match, and to be fair, the scoreline was slightly flattering as United played really well, and created lots of chances. Thankfully, they couldn't convert, and hopefully it will be the same in today's game.

So, come on Liverpool Let's have more of the same today. Go out there and stuff the Mancs 4-0 :-)

Watching that almost brings a tear to the eye. Barnes, Beardsley, Rush, Houghton, McMahon, Nicol, Whelan etc. They were an absolute joy to watch, but will we ever see their like again...?

Some of the passing and movement in the above clip is sublime; check out the counter-attack at 7:25 - the speed and precision is breathtaking.
