'He has offers' - More evidence that LFC are set to sign exciting €15m striker...?

During Italy's 'SportItalia' TV show on Tuesday evening, Italian football journalist Gianluigi Longari claimed that Liverpool had made a €15m offer offer for Parma striker Fabio Borini. Now, Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi has confirmed that a couple of 'overseas' clubs had submitted offers the the 21 year old, which adds weight to Longari's claim.

In an interview with Sportmediaset last night, Ghirardi admitted that Parma were still a long way from agreeing a permanent deal with Borini, who is currently on loan at AS Roma. He added:

"Roma have to decide whether or not they really want the player, especially as he has received other offers.

"We’ve heard from a couple of overseas clubs and we have to think about getting the best value for Parma"

Ghirardi's comments seem to tie in with Longardi's claim that Liverpool are currently negotiating a deal with Parma to bring Borini to Anfield for €15m.

"If that figure is correct, then Liverpool have to be favourites to sign the player, especially given the fact Ghirardi is focused on getting the 'best value for Parma'.

  1. Jaimie, speaking of serie A transfers.....what do you reckon to Flamini as a back up to Lucas following his release by Milan?

  2. I've always like Flamini, but he seems to be increasingly injury prone. He was out for 5 months last season, which is probably part of the reason why Milan got rid of him.

  3. same story again, typical of you kanwar, grasping at straws for any old attention seeking rubbish story

  4. From what i have seen this is just the type of player Liverpool need clinical and smart  and speaking of Italian players any more news on Ramirez an Italian friend of mine says he is over rated.

  5. There is absolutely no truth that LFC are interested. The seller is simply trying to "sweeten the waters" to get the best price!

  6. Please no more Italians also we have players like him in reserves Pacheco for instance.

  7. Can anyone tell me the last Italian to make it at LFC,or for that matter
in the prem. Why we have brought in a scout who is based in Italy is
beyond me. I would not do business with AC. Inter or Juve. they are
corrupt, the way Liverpool have been & still are being messed around
    with Aqualani,is disgraceful.

  10. I agree. As usual they are gonna hold off & try to steal him at last minute. I say get Aqua back & make him play to justify his price tag. After all he says he never had any opportunity & we also hear he wants to go to Italy. Let him prove himself & tell Italians where to go!

  11. Offer him for no less than 35mil,same as Thiago Silva, that should scare them off.I don't think he wants to leave anyway,he just needs some reassurance of where we are going in the future.BR seems to have the 'gift of the gab' so i think he will settle any worries Skirtel has.

  12. Never heard of this guy before and if that's the best of him for his youtube compilation, then I sure am not impressed and can not see any justification of a £15m price tag!

Carroll is already a 'project' striker, so another isn't needed. In contrast, Sturridge has proven his ability when given the opportunity and for a similar price should definitely be snapped up imo.

  13. Isn't there better out there in this price range?

  14. Hes a good player, i feel he can do well but with suarez/carroll he may have to bide his ti,e but when he comes he needs to grab it with both hands. one of the mamy things ive not liked about our last 2 managers is when a play or striker does well coming off the bench he usually ends up back there next game and that is demotivating as fan watchin let alone a play on the bench.

  15. what do you know about Borini Jaimie? i know he was at Chelsea as a young lad and spent some time on loan at Swansea but if he wasn't good enough for Chelsea is he good enough for us now? In saying that I have no idea how he has performed lately so though you might have a bit more info on him than me? we def need a new striker though

  16. From that video above he does not seem to create chances. It seems like his main attribute is composure, which is something we lack. He always seem to have a decent shooting abilty, but he does not seem to have anything else that is noteworthy.
I would expect us to go for someone who has a little more than composure and finishing. What about Berbatov? I always valued him as a good player, and his contract is expiring, isn't it?

  17. I would take Flamini on a free any day. The guy have so much raw talent. It's a no brainer for me.
Maybe if we should take him on a short-term contract(with an extension option)?

  19. None at Liverpool that I can think of, but in the Premiership ... Zola, DiCanio, Ravenelli, Vialli, Carbone, and Di Matteo were all very special

  21. LFC have onlyhad the 2 Dossena and Aquilani neither set the world alight. Although there have been a lot in the Prem I think Zola is the only real success. Di Matteo was a good player as for the others.........vialli ravenelli very average IMO time will tell re Ballotelli but his temperment will always let him down

  22. Milan still offered him a new contract but wanted him to take a huge pay cut.

  23. He didn't say he was Italian.
