Sacked! Ruthless FSG fire two more high-profile LFC employees. Dalglish next...?

FSG have shown their ruthless side once again and fired another two high-profile members of Liverpool FC's staff.

After the recent sackings of Damien Comolli and Peter Bruckner, two high-flying LFC executives have been now been dumped.

The newest employees to join the Anfield scrapheap are:

* Jean Crisp, the head of customer experience

* Stephen Turner, head of international soccer schools.

Both were part of the commercial team led by the recently departed Graham Bartlett. I contacted the LFC press office, but the club declined to comment.

Comolli and Bruckner were fired just days before the FA Cup semi-final with Everton, and with the FA Cup final just days away, there's something very familiar about the timing of these sackings.

It seems like FSG are on a cost-cutting crusade at the moment; only last week, the weekly version of LFC Magazine was scrapped, and many LFC staff members will be nervously looking over their shoulders right now, including Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish.

As I've argued all season, I would hate to see a legend like Dalglish sacked, but FSG have proved in the past that they have no compunction about getting rid of under-performing managers.

If Liverpool fail to win the FA Cup this Saturday, Dalglish will be under severe pressure, and after this season's catastrophic premier league performance - symbolised by last night's horrible performance against Fulham - he'll have no one to blame but himself.

  1. I like their determination. That (along with correct decisions in future) is what solves the kind of issues we're having, and changes the direction of a team to the right way.

  2. Whose worse manager ever for us...

..Souness ruined us but still won FA CUP

....Hodgson ...with 100mill less to spend than kd

dalglish ....130mill spent and we will finish max 8th in league with mickey mouse cup

to me Dalglish is worst manager we have ever had

  3. I'n a great admirer of KD but i'm sure he knows that it is top 4 or bust next season.

Ha ha ha talk about clutching at straws pal!!

  5. I din't normally agree with you on Dalglish but it appears your calls for his head early on in the season are now justified. I am sick of KK trying to convince us that the likes of Adam , Henderson Downing are good enough. In fact Jonjo Shelvey looks better than the 3 of them combined and at a lot less money spent. i think FSG should get rid of Dalglish regardless of the result in the FA cup final

  6. Well said Tornike. I hate to say it but there is a part of me that wants us to lose on saturday if it means Kenny also being sacked. This is a business to our owners and they still have to spend on a new stadium.......Remember that! If fact, I am starting to get worried that that is being put in moth balls in place of player transfers.

  7. I really hope KD would step down before the sacking

  8. Agree with your points, but with respect, I never called for KD's head earlier in the season. I've criticised him, but I've never called for him to be sacked.

  9. It was supposed to be top 4 or bust this season!

  10. Well as far as sackings go i am praying the club cuts their lossses and sells Downing Adam and Johnson gets Carra to retire and brings in some real quality.

  11. I agree with the comments on here, so far.  Kenny has to go, he has Tactics so backword he thinks they are a new form of TicTac.  He has tinkered with the team more than Ranieri did... have we actually put out the same team for two games running? I do not believe that they will fire Kenny, but they should at least give him no option but to resign... and if he loves the club he will do it immediately. IMO he is turning a great club into a laughing stock.

KD....Great player: Great man, but poor Manager. I would give Souness another chance (like KD, he loves LFC).

  13. Even three
games before the end of the current premier league campaign Kenny Dalglish and
the players he has personally chosen for the current season continued to
embarrass and humiliate the LFC’s fans in all over the world.  We, the LFC’s fans in all over the world,
just hope that Kenny Dalglish will realize that he cannot continue to be LFC’s
manager any longer and will step down at the end of the season.  Additionally, the game against Fulham was
another resonant message to the Principal Owner John W. Henry and Chairman

    they can transubstantiate

I agree with you but who in their right mind will buy Downing or Adam , Johnson , I'm sure would fetch a decent price but no way will we get a fraction of the money back from Downing signing

    We are not Chelsea.

  17. Have to agree, the writing appears to be on the wall for Kenny, a move upstairs would probably the best/worst move for FSG to keep the king kenny followers happy though. A much as i admire the man and the legend he is it's a results business we are in and we have had terrible results since christmas. Cups aren't going to cover over the cracks and with our current form we would be in a relegation battle if not for the first half of the season. Time to shake the whole club up and refresh the infrastructure manager and team. Sentiment will win us nothing and is costing us dearly. Put it this way even the Man Utd Fans have stopped slagging me as they view LFC as a joke not worth telling anymore.

  18. Your dreams to see Liverpool relegated will never be come true.
KING KENNY WILL STAY and FSG proved to be an ownership with a strong long term view. Bollocks.

  19. Because of the amount of money spent on the team and the whole set up.  I certainly would if it was my money.  Top 4 is not success, it's progress.

  20. That's not instant success. Only 1st in EPL is a success.

  25. No, not really, we expect a manager who will get his troops to fight and show desire and hunger, to show some hint of progress and give us fans some real hope for the future, to give some top teams something to worry about even if we just miss out on the top four by a wisker. Dalglish gives no hope for anything but doom and gloom, i don't even think he gives the players a stinging talk at all, his press conferences are dire, his tactics are awful, his transfer choices are horrible... the list is endless. So, no i don't expect to finish in the top four straight away, but i expect a real fight, a fight to try and finish in the top two if possible, top four fine, but a disappointment and maybe, just maybe miss out on 4th on goal difference, but be behind the champions by no more than 9 points, NOW, that gives me hope and belief for the future for the troops can build on from there. Dalglish does not know whether he is coming or going. RAFA, given all the money Dalglish got as a lump sum would definitely was gonna bring class and quality not this junk. Its a pitty he had the Yankees who never really backed him soundly in the transfer market like Dogleash is. He was always given cash in bits and pieces. Would i have Rafa back if there was somehow another £100m to spend for next season? My answer is an almighty YES!!! Dalglish was a great player, but he is terribly hopeless as a manager who is still stuck in the 80s, rude, sturbborn and selfish. OUT HE SHOULD GO, EVEN IF HE WINS THE FA CUP!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. too late, he's already turned this Club into a luaghing stock

    ReplyDelete
  27. Did FSG hire Dalglish to talk about things of the 1980's on his CV and not because they wanted results from the time of hiring him??? If they hired him just to pride about things of the 1980's on his CV and not the club's progress then maybe I must shut my fucking mouth!!!!!!!

  30. That was his objective at the beginning of the season and he banged on about having such a great squad. Not having European football was supposed to used to our advantage to push for top four. Have you forgotten all this?

    ReplyDelete
  31. not at all from my point of view - I didn't expect us this season to reach the top four at all, but at least be up there or thereabouts challenging. Instead we have regressed (this is an absolute fact btw) by at least 5 years behind every team above us.

why cant people see that we are in freefall under KK? We are NOT progressing whatsoever. A good couple of cup runs means absolutely nothing. We won't win the FA cup - Chelsea are far far far far superior in every department (and Torres to score a couple) and the Carling Cup is  pile of dog ****.

WE ARE MID TABLE MEDIOCRITY - thanks kenny

    ReplyDelete
  32. Spending £130m to add to a squad that finished 2nd a few years ago, you'd surely think they could beat the newly promoted clubs and teams in the relegation zone yeah?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Seems FSG are far from happy with what's going on at Anfield, on the field and off it. They've spent a lot of money and quite rightly want a return from it. I like how they are acting, showing that if people don't do the job they will be moved on. I'd be very surprised if they aren't already looking at somebody for the managers job (Guardiola please, not Rafa).

    ReplyDelete
  34. What will sacking these two men do for our on field performance?

  36. Never go back is advice he should've heeded. Could have retired as one of Liverpool's great managers, now he's' made it clear he's nowhere near that level.

  37. I always had second thoughts on Kenny coming back, why risk ruining his reputation as he is past 60 years old and will already be revered forever. All that has happened is we rode the wave of euphoria for the first part of the season and for whatever reason now we have genuinely fallen behind. You know, our old bootroom mentality only works so much without players who actually WANT to play AND realise what it means to play for Liverpool, also we have moved on 30 years since and have always resisted the BIG players or for some reason they never came to us. It hurts me to the core to see us so under performing. And our never ending production line of THE BEST PLAYERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD never getting a game because they are so young, it drives me crazy when you consider Gerrard, Fowler, Carragher, Owen, Spearing, Mcmanamen ALL given chances. What has changed from when they were given a chance to now? We must have the best 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and fifth eleven on the face of the earth judging by all reports and reviews. The past really is and has been the PAST for 15 to 20 years and whilst we have history and prestige it really will not last forever. I sometimes compare us to Bayern Munich who at some stage had a big deal made about not qualifying for the Champions League, well now WE are the Bunnies who risk not qualifying for the Champions League, and we will NEVER get back to where we should be unless we change our ways. We have teams setting all kinds of records against us as never having won at Anfield, well now they have eh? For crying out loud something has to change YNWA FOREVER!

    ReplyDelete
  38. As much as I admire Kenny as a player and former manager I really don't trust him. Certainly not with future transfers going off his track record last season.  Our purchases have done very poorly and cost far too much.  Not one of them has made an impact.  Not only that many players play out of position at LFC and their form goes down.  We've seen players do well then get dropped for no apparent reason too.

LFC as a whole mismanaged Suarez' issues midseason and we missed the opportunity to purchase a poacher in January citing there wasn't anyone available showing LFCs poor scouting acumen.  Newcastle proved us wrong purchasing Cisse.

  39. Some right idiots on here who have no right to call themselves Liverpool fans. Our performances this season have been excellent apart from a few games which we deserved to lose.

Ironically now that many fans are coming round to the reality that Kenny Dalglish is NOT good enough and should never have been appointed.
We now see a CONCERTED EFFORT BY LOYALIST IN THE MEDIA, determined to give him another SEASON.
This, Jaimie Despite the fact that the FANS like me who attend games are calling for Dalglish to go.

I was at the game yesterday and I can tell you that it was SILENT and then a section of the fans where I was were calling for DALGLISH OUT and then the BOOS started.

This is not been reported in the MEDIA AT ALL TODAY.
Instead, we have the usual suspects doing INTERVIEWS on TALKSPORT and BBC 5 LIVE saying that Kenny 'Deserves' another season.

Something is seriously wrong in a number of areas :

    1) The Fact that fans DID chant DALGLISH OUT and not being reported

    2) Some Reporters asked if Dalglish should be given another season were 'SET UPON' in the interview

    3) No HONEST criticism of Dalglish as ANY half Decent Pundit should do.

We are NOT being represented by these PUNDITS and DEFENDERS OF KENNY in the press.

Which brings me to my next point............

What on earth are FSG doing Jaimie?

I pointed out in a post some time back, that after sacking Comolli they should have finished what they started.
The fact that FSG are ' DANCING AROUND THE ISSUE' suggests to me they don't have the STOMACH to do the 'UNTHINKABLE'.
Prehaps they are scared of the media reaction.
Or Finally as I believe they are BEING BADLY ADVISED.

I don't need to understand American Football to know that if the team is performing badly all SEASON the BUCK STOPS WITH THE MANAGER/COACH.

I think the time to start putting pressure on FSG is coming.
This period between now and the end of the season is CRITICAL to have someone in place ASAP for next season.

IF FSG CAN'T SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS THEN THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN THE FOOTBALL.

  55. You know am just wondering myself most people don't understand how football is run its like everyone is looking for quick fix. Football is not like going to the market and buy mangoes it takes a lot of things and its a pity most people think we can solve problems that have been around 3yrs in one year am just disgusted.

    ReplyDelete
  56. With all due respect Septimus_severus (great name by the way), why would any rational owners fire the manager before the end of the season and with an FA Cup semi-final (at the time) still to play for?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I guess a lot is riding on the FA Cup Final, however even then I think the owners will have a very important - and difficult - decision to make.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Jaimie am surprised by you by calling for KK's head Liverpool's problems can't be fixed especially when they have been around for close to 4years and besides success isn't bought but built. Man City was bought 3years ago tell me with all the money they have spent how long has it taken them to challenge for the tittle?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think our owners are smart enough to keep Dalglish on board in some capacity or other if there is a decision to appoint a new manager. Kenny has a lot to offer to the club in roles other than that of manager.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Come on Dude, Everyone has a right to a opinion even if it doesn't agree with your own.  you should've gone to Specsavers if u can't see how poor LFC have been this year. And realistically only an idiot will not listen to opinions and end up being an embarrassment to himself by not doing so, did it ever occur to you that people state their opinions cause they care about LFC and want the best for it????? Probably not...

  61. Mid table? Thats putting it mildly. We're bottom fodder end of. We going backwards and very fast thanks to Kenny and the bunch blinkered fans who keep singing his name afraid to call for his head.

    ReplyDelete
  62. From a business point of view they may now have a full understanding of what is required to run the football club and are making changes to how the club is run to maximise revenues and streamline operations. The first thing you do when you take over something that has not been running right is first try to understand why has it been run so badly in the first place. some things always need to be changed straight away, this is to ensure you have sufficient leadership at all levels to ensure that the situation does not get any worse and I think that is why Ian Ayre, commolli and dalglish where all moved and brought in as they would stabilise things at their respected levels, which to be fair they did as it could of been a whole lot worse if they kept hodgson. During this time it has allowed FSG to truly investigate all operations at the club and essentially sift through every area to ensure that at all levels of the busniess is operating efficiently. It is normally a case of stripping away back to the bare bones then look at what you have. I think this may be the start of them getting rid of excess non-essential staff and waste; raise prices, emalgamate job roles and account for every expenditure to find away of operating better and maximising profit. It may be a blessing in disguise that KD has not done what we all expected him to do in the league as essentially FSG will be able to hire who they want that fits into their own mantre. ppl expecting benitez to be back IMO will be something that FSG wont want as benitez would want total power and control of all signings wages, academy again and he would have still a massive following. all this could prove to much of a dangerous situation if they truly want to change the club from top to bottom.

    ReplyDelete
  63. All the signals are that KD WiLL be given another season. Waller was brought back in on KD's recommendation, KD is scouting players. The Yanks are scared of sacking him, they are scared that the rose tinted brigade will kick off should their beloved king get booted. Anyone else, wasting that amount of cash, and performing that badly, would be long gone. its a catch 22 situation for them, and it seems to be causing inertia.

Winning the FA cup will gloss over an awful season, but also could be the perfect swan song for KD before he's moved upstairs. Can't see it though, Chelski are far superior to us in every department at present, not least team spirit and belief in their manager.

Another season of kennys fab 4 (hendo, downing, carroll and adam) poncing about could turn me off football completely...although i have to say, i still think carroll could come good.
For me, this season has been as depressing as the souness years.

    ReplyDelete
  64. That is what all these pretenders who think no more about Liverpool think that you can build success in one year what a bunch of idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  65. You see my friend most of these people have small brains that they can't see beyond a loss can't see a bigger picture.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Okay people, lets look back a little bit. When FSG appointed Kenny, they did express they were sceptical about him, but obviously put him in the hot seat due to the fans' love for him and his popularity. So, in short, they gave you what you were screaming for, Dalglish plus mounds of cash to spend. How has Dalglish repaid them and the fans? He gave both parties horse crap and personally, i think insults everyone on camera due his lack of PR skills. My eleven year old daughter would perform better in front of the camera than Dalglish.
Now that FSG gave you what u wanted and got their fingers burnt, they are gonna do it the way they want by appointing someone they want and feel has got the guts to perform on the grand stage and rightly so. They have started by sacking Comolli and a few, next is the 'King'. Noone should complain when your 'King' is kicked out. These guys are in business, not fun, you don't spend £100m+ and not worry about the returns, Kenny is a clown stuck in the stone age era!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Downing, Henderson, Adam and Carroll play some entertaining stuff don't they? This team would be nothing without Suarez and Gerrard (who is the wrong side of 30), Lucas, Agger and Skrytl. IMO Hodgson's one signing Meireles was a better player than all of Dalglish's signings. And I don't need to back up Benitez, because the FACTS speak for themselves.

     Hi Voland & Thanks

When you consider the poor league form History has shown that changing Managers works to improve the performance.
That having been said, I understand where your coming from but and the potential negative impact that may have on a cup run.

I don't think this 'drip drip' effect of sackings is motivating the team at all, in fact I'd wager it's negative.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Rubbish, one determines success by the very objectives they set themselves. Liverpool set an objective at the start of the season; that was top 4. We are not gonna get there, therefore FAIL. First was never the objective and therefore does not determine success, unless that was YOUR objective. Drawing attention to Carling cup win and progress in the FA cup is for the bonehead supporters. They were NEVER part of the clubs' objectvies this year.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'd much rather watch a Man City game than a Liverpool game at the moment with the way Man City has performed. And they needn't win the title for me to keep preferring to watch them play rather than Liverpool. If hundreds of thousands felt the same way as I do worldwide guess who benefits. There can only be one winner at the end of the season. But its how you play the game that ultimately matters most. The way we play now doesn't well erm matter at all and KK is partly if not mostly to blame for it. Off with the head.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Give him before January next season. If we are not in a suitable position we should sack him and give time for the new manager to have a understanding on the team for the season after that. I believe in second chances, but Dalglish can't do it with some of the players in this squad.

New signings are a must. We need a proper proper midfield. After Lucas went out, the whole midfield setup lost its drive and security. Its in shambles to say the truth. They are key in dictating matches and puts less pressure on Suarez and Carroll to perform. We also need proper wing men and another striker. Rodriguez should have played way more minutes this season. That is one thing that I hate Dalglish on.

Downing is a panzy that never steps up when he is supposed to be a reliable star. People like to point out that he creates chances and they arn't being converted. Tell me did you guys see Aurelio vs Fulham. I have never seen Downing put in curled crosses like that, he just wacks them in with whip the one time he manages to get in a dangerous position. Aurelio's accurate crosses are the sort of crosses Carroll craves.

Too bad Aurelio is injury prone, but this brings me to the point that we need players with strengths in certain attributes. A midfielder with vision. A winger with accurate crossing and reads the game well. A midfielder that makes good runs, and finishes. Downing, Henderson (still young mind you) and Adam have failed to show any valued attributes, hence they are NOT quality players.

  72. Jamie. There are 2 types of Liverpool fans. Those that are brought up in the City and understand the unique culture of the club. Then those who view the club like any other team, these are the ones who will go to Anfield and boo from the stands. Also they dedicate their time to critical websites like this. There is room for both sets of supporters, but good to recognize that such websites are very irritating to the local fans and do not represent in any way the feeling of people from the City whose families have often followed the club for a few generations.

Name me one manager who could have elevated us into the top four or turned us into instant champions a season after the shambles that was Roy Hodgson and Hicks + Gillett? As for you Jaimie...I don't think you've ever written a positive article. All you do is stirr things up when they are going so well. Are you really a Liverpool fan? A real fan would understand why the vast majority seem so keen to give Kenny another season at last...it's what he deserves.

  76. real fans, or should i say scousers, all know its been poor this season.most on here have minds like tea strainers, full of holes yes iam a kenny fan but i know this  season has been not good enough too many average players, too many not good enough for liverpool.but i like many think kenny desrves another year yes hes not done as well as most hoped but for what he has done in the past for club and familys  everyone desrves that second chance kenny does.of course downing hendo, carroll have not done it this season even kenny knows that, but be real he cant say that can he? be very carefull who u wish for.. give the king the chance he desreves to reedem himself and if he cant then i think he will step down. he is one of are own  treat him that way....

  77. Why do managers have to be moved upstairs. If I was a Manager I would want total control. Fergie, Mancini, Moyes, Wenger etc. If I became manager I would want Dalglish consigned to meet and greet the sponsors
and other distinguished activities legends do.
I have just been abroad, the fan base in the Middle East has shrunk over the racism issue but I too as a Scouser am dismayed at the number of Plastic Scousers the club has and the comments they make such as I read on the Daily Mail from a Cornish Liverpudlian, 'i support Liverpool but I wouldnt want to live in the dump' which beggars belief. They are the ones who boo and write messages slamming the club. Granted KK is living on borrowed time but as long as the owners have him in charge he has my support.
Sadly we live in a time when local wealthy owners no longer own the big clubs and at times I yearn back to those pre Sky TV days when the ground was full of Scousers backing the team to the hilt

These SELF CONFESSED SCOUSERS seem to think that because they are born and breed they have a more say than anyone else.
let me clear a few things up for you .

I like many other fans am not a Scouser but I am a season ticket HOLDER.
I pay my MONEY week in week out and that GIVES ME THE RIGHT.
I have supported Liverpool from a little boy so now that's 30 years.

The revenue generated by LFC come from money OUTSIDE Liverpool.
The manager is from OUTSIDE Liverpool.
The OWNERS are from OUTSIDE LIVERPOOL country and continent  yet you welcomed them.

The Global Fanbase is from OUTSIDE Liverpool and will continue to GROW from outside Liverpool.

Don't delude yourself into thinking that because you have accent or are born in the City you have a special Status over ANY OTHER FAN.

This Scouse Liverpool one of us MENTALITY is what got us into this mess.
If you think this Mentality will get us out of it your WRONG.

Many of the people on here are not even in the UK and there allegiance to LFC is as strong as anyone else's.
Stop trying to cause divisions on such PETTY MINDEDNESS.

WE ALL SUPPORT LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB.
We may not agree on Players Managers and Style but we all want the same thing.

  84. I keep reading about the £100M plus spend. The new owners did not spend £100M gross ( it was actually nearer to £114M ) but £35M NET! That is a much smaller financial commitment than people keep going on about. Several players have gone out on loan and, although LFC is still paying big 'chunks' of their salaries, the club is also saving big 'chunks'. Add in the large number of players who have been moved on and the financial commitment from the new owners is nowhere near as big as some pundits would have us believe. In fact, LFC's net spend over the last FIVE transfer windows is close to the £35M quoted above and is relative 'chicken feed' compared to the money spent by Chelsea and Man City.

Ok, a lot of people are talking here about success, progress and whether KD should be given more time.

I'm sure I remember Tom Werner saying top four was the objective for this season - objective not met.

Let's compare last season's honeymoon period when KD came in and our
performances then to the whole of this season - it would take a blind,
labotomised fool to not see the performances have got steadily worse.
Blaming poor luck, the woodwork, dominent possession means nothing!
Results speak the language of "ball-in-net" - would seem no progress has
    been made on the pitch

We've achieved the easiest route to success this season with the
league cup. I wouldn't give that up, but we were in the final against a
championship team ( no matter who we beat to get there ). We have
another final to look forward to but that will only be countable as
success if we win, runner-up means nothing - So we have a modicum of
success this season that we can enjoy along with Birmingham City!

I don't know now whether it is a risk to give KD more time...

Let's suppose LFC and us fans are 1 partner in a relationship and
success is the other partner. The relationship isn't working so you ask
your best mate in all the world to act as a counselor between both
partners cause you desperately want the relationship to work... What
would you say to your best mate when it becomes clear he's not helping
    to repair your relationship?

My heart says "maybe he can turn it around if we give him more time..."

My head says "God, changes have to be made quick before the relationship becomes damaged beyond repair"

Seems like Carra knows he's starting.  If we lose the cup final it will kill two legends with one stone.

    What are you thinking Kenny?

    http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2012/05/02/jamie-carragher-says-playing-for-liverpool-fc-in-an-fa-cup-final-is-special-video-100252-30888804/

  92. King Kenny was an absolute legend to me. As I kid I was mesmerised by Kenny's play. However, his legendary status is very quickly eroding away.

Anfield was a fortress and teams feared coming to Anfield. Not anymore. Last nights game against Fulham was tragic, we lack passion, fighting spirit.

I personally believe, whatever the result on Saturday, Kenny will be pushed upstairs into a ambassador role. But who would we sign as a new manager? Brendan Rogers, Jürgen Klopp, Rafa, AVB??????????

    ReplyDelete
  93. Its quite clear.
FSG is leveling the ground for a new manager, they are waiting for the final game to announce the new manager, who will be allowed to bring his staff to lead the team.
KD will probably resign to keep some dignity and to unite the fan base.
The new manager is probably already appointed.
    Thats the only logical explanation.
The results are speaking and FSG are known to handle 'situations'.
And nearly nobody will miss this record breaking (wrong records) season.
I for one welcome that final game to ease the pain!

    ReplyDelete
  94.  Hi Jamie it's Banksy. Just two days to go to the FA Cup final, and there you go again, more provocative comments designed to undermine the club. You never stop, what is this artical supposed to achieve. Other than start people talking about negative crap just hours from what should be a great event for Dalgish, the club and it's fans. I am becoming more and more convinced that you are ANTI LIVERPOOL. Maybe you are in the pay of Fergi!

    ReplyDelete
  95. You are not a LFC fan .. simple as that . Show yr manc colours next time.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Kenny's probably not likely to go even if he probably should, but i think there will be a close eye kept on things from the start of next season if it all goes the same way. I reckon bring back Phil Thomson as his assistant and have him step up if kenny continues to struggle. The talk of getting rid of a lot of the players mentioned is stupid. Hendo, downing, carrol shouldnt be got rid of......but they shouldn't be starting 11 either. Adam should go though, he is pathetic!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Next season should show a more mature LFC and more stability in the right way (more goals, more wins , more team ).
Kenny was hired to straighten up the club which was very down - he's done a bit but failed a bit as well . But I didnt think he could turn the long deroute around in a season .
But if he shows progress next season he will get the 3rd year he has contract for and hopefully finish off his manager time with a LFC back in CL and in a much better state than when he started his second term.
KD should never be sacked - it is a question of showing respect !

The emphasis here is on SUPPORT and I write as someone who SUPPORTED LFC through eight long years in the old second division. The trouble with too many modern fans ( an abbreviation for fanatic ) is they become irrational in their words/actions and end up completely undermining their support for the club they claim to love. In other words, if you cannot be constructive in your criticism of the manager, players, etc.,then kindly take your bitterness and bile to another site.

  118. It does make me laugh, it is the same people who were shouting for Hodgsons head and Raffa's before him. They were probably laughing at AVB getting the push too and saying Chelsea sack their managers too quickly.

I do agree our form has been poor in 2012, but sacking KD will do nothing in the long run to help matters. Look at the sour faced manager down the road. He started off poorly and was almost sacked as a result, but the club stck by him and are now the holders of the most league titles instead of us.

LFC has been under funded for years and FSG don't have a magic wand that will make players come to play for us, especially when we're not in any European competition. The top players will go to the Citys, Uniteds, Reals and Barcelonas.

We have to face facts, 18 months we were nearly in administration, slipping down the league and in general termoil. When KD took over, everyone was singing his praises and expecting to rule the world in next to no time. It's not that simple!

Give the club time, have patience and see what's what in a years time. Back the club and be positive. With any luck we'll have another cup in the trophy room by Sunday, then we can all crow about that.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  125. I think that if they were to sack Kenny, it would be after the Fa cup final. Before would just make the team disgruntled and distract them. Furthermore, as Jaimie pointed out, I don't think that any sentimental reasons would prevent FSG from sacking Kenny. If Liverpool do lose on Saturday then I can't think what would be able to save him.

I just don't want KD to lose his legendary status by being the man to bring LFC down.   No one's bigger than the club they always say right...  Is everyone sure about that?

  129. Of course not.  Take the rose tinted glasses off and wake up and smell the coffee.   Take away the bucket loads of nostalgia and delusion that have got us in to this situation in the first place and replace it with a good dose of reality.  The game has moved on and until those that live in the past do so also, we aint going anywhere.
When we decide it's time to move with the times, that's when we'll see progress.   The boot room was fine in the 70s and 80s but you only have to look at the way Rafa got us to 2 European finals to see what can be done when you break the mould.

  135. major difference between the past and now.

when we were successful there weren't many, if any, foreign players in the team or even in the league.

players are motivated, not by the shankly gates any more, but by money.   We still think buying british is the answer.

is anyone telling me that the modern day version of Sammy Lee (Jay Spearing) is a match for Yaya Toure?  Obviously not.  Jay wouldn't stand out at Exeter.   Yaya must be laughing his head off when he sees our team sheet.   David Silva or Stewart Downing?   Henderson or Mata?    Andy Carroll or Didier Drogba?    Therein lies the problem.

But get this, KD believes that Jay Spearing & Co ARE a match for Yaya and more than that, are the best players in the world that we can get our hands on - and while that's the case, we're not going anywhere fast.

  150. It's hard to read all these negative comments about Kenny, Liverpool and the season they have had. I expected a little more in the league but it was always going to be a transitional season. It took Fergie numerous seasons to be successful with Man U. Kenny didn't inherit a top 4 side, the team that finish second had long disbanded. I am confident we would have sealed a top 4 place had Lucas not been injured for the majority of the season. If I have to explain how vital Lucas was to Liverpools success this season, then go and follow netball or American football instead. The results may not have been great but the performances have not been too bad considering Liverpool are changing their style of play, over previous seasons. The majority of fans on here will be saying how well we are doing next year, the others will always complain (even if we over achieve and win the league), won't you Jamie.

  153. one manager will win the league...the rest fail!...not just kenny ...but all of the rest...now you may say that the three behind the winner has been successfull because they qualify for the champions league?...wrong,theyre only successfull if they win it...liverpool have won it five times and should have been seven...as a club...we are miles ahead of any other british club....kenny has got plenty of time before anyone gets close...leave him to it and success will follow....fergie done a job on suarez and kenny like he did with rafa...he saw the threat and bullied and cheated his way through it....hes played that card now and cant do the same trick again...next season...the prems ours....city and united felt kennies wrath in both cups and the proof is there...the king...and liverpool are back...two trophies come next week will prove that!!

Everyone were not singing his praises when he took over! I forecast that he WOULD NOT SUCCEED! he was carried by Paisley, and by Ray Harford at Blackburn. He failed at Newcastle & Celtic!

Too late to save his reputation as a player! But he was never a manager anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  158. Cushion's 'non Scouser' comments were a bit stupid but you, and a lot of other people should think twice before treating Kenny Dalglish with the kind of disrespect that you do.

His second coming has panned out badly but to call him racist is stupid (or to imply, since you didn't have the balls to make the comment outright).

It is just as stupid to call him the worst manager in the club's history.

If he goes, as he probably should, he has earned the right to go with dignity.

    ReplyDelete
  159. your reply is very boring....let the season be over first...stick with your manager..let FSG handle the problem... FSG is not blind

    ReplyDelete
  160. well said! i from Malaysia...far away from England,Liverpool.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I'm not sure if Brukner was sacked, maybe he just had enough of England and wanted to return to Oz. But it seems the liverpool way of doing sackings is to state 'the club and 'x' have mutually agreed to end 'x's tenure'

I didn't buy the T-shirts.  I just watched in disbelief.

  163. Yes and even if not.... surely not one of a poor scout or merchandiser. Worst of the lot... Henderson then the others . All those shown the door were above him. Even reserves are above him. Babel's exit was really a stupid move not to mention Merieles. ... Compared to what we have now, we only need a few changes. Gety rid of the dead expensive wood. Yes we did but actually got useless rocks on our head instead. Those who were sent out were good players but they were not motivated and when Kenny came in positives could be seen but he got carried away with what he can do and there he went, overdoing with the money he had . Buying merely coz he could. I hope he sells before buying. Accepts his bad buy and sell them if he can which I doubt especially Hendo. The rest he can sell but for cheap.  I'll send Hendo on loan in  the championship to start all over and understand what battling is all about. He'll learn and understands the meaning of urgency which is badly needed in his game. He may be skilled in juggling thye ball but he isn't paid by the circus but a football club. Therefore much more data entry needed upstairs. Kenny to get his old job or sommething else within the club by "mutual consent". I'll give him face for having done and been a legend during his footballing days.

Boring? lol. I aim to please lol.

Question: Why should I stick with the manager?

If your answer is good enough I will genuinely reconsider my stance.

    Make your case...........

  165. Kenny n Hendo 1st to go as a pack. TOr Hendo, Kenny then Adam ,Carroll and maybe Downing after 1stb half of new seasion.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Sacking AVB at Chelsea seems to have got them into the CL final! Perhaps they should not have sacked him and stayed where they were? In my working life I was employed in US and standard US business procedure is not to be confused with "ethics". When someone is to go - they go!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Imagine if kd never bought Carroll..Adam..Downing..Henderson and Coates and had 90million to buy some real talent

    ReplyDelete
  168. This is, sadly, exactly the sort of response you expect from many Liverpool 'fans.' If you dare to criticise the club you are a traitor or a pervert or something. The only loyalty is blind loyalty, the sort Pol Pot or Chairman Mao demanded. People with another point of view are terribly unwelcome.
You have to be a 'genuine' scouser i.e. one who questions nothing and accepts everything and shouts Y.N.W.A.  fifty times a day. You delude yourself that the team plays good football when the truth is that their football - and their results - are utterly shameful. Small wonder that Liverpool fans are so badly thought of these days.  'Nobody likes us, we don't care.' The mantra of the 'true' LFC fan. What a sad and pathetic bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  169. How much time should we give a manager? I'd rather have instant success because I believe with instant success comes progression.  Once a club has experienced success, they'll keep on going for that success, that formula will stick with the players and the club in general.. look at Chelsea, with instant success, they became title contenders every year.  what about LFC, all we can aim for is top 4. I apologies for saying all these, I've been supporting liverpool since 1988.. we've came close in the 90's and in the 2000's.. I hope in this decade we all can see LFC lift the EPL again.. let the past be the past, lets all move on towards the future as one unit...

    ReplyDelete
  170. LFC have been waiting 22 years and there is no sign whatsoever of that wait coming to an end. Time enough? Of course, whoever takes over will need more time. And then more time. And don't judge him yet, wait till Xmas. And don't judge him at Xmas, wait till Easter. We've heard it all before.

    ReplyDelete
  171.  Let's think about the F.A. Cup final. I would imagine we will hit the woodwork at least once, maybe two or three times. I would not expect us to score. Henderson will be the first name KD pencils in for the final team and will be his usual hopeless self. Carroll will lumber around like a man wading through four feet of water. Reina will make an infantile error, leading to a goal probably. Suarez will be marked out of the game and will become increasingly frustrated, leading very likely to a red. If we are given a penalty we will miss it. Drogba and Torres will find the net. I would love to be wrong on every count but that does look very much like what we can expect.

    ReplyDelete
  172. excellent? pffft

Yep, that explains our league position well(!)

    ReplyDelete
  173. Net spend is for accountants or for people who need something to hold onto in these dire times (but why don't people like you compare the net spend to Arsenal, who have been regular like clockwork in the top 4...oh I guess its not convenient to their agenda eh)

The poster above did not clarify he was talking about net spend, so he could easily have been talking about expenditure or gross.

At the end of the day, we spent over £100m and for what? for bloody what?

    ReplyDelete
  174. Did you give Roy Hodgson the same excuse?

    ReplyDelete
  175. Most haven't clarified whether it is net spend or gross/expenditure when they say that £100m estimated figure, so get off your high horse and get tumbling to the ground. They don't need to clarify it as they aren't accountants, as they aren't obsessed with 'net spend'.

We have spent over £100m, end of.

    ReplyDelete
  176. We had the chance to bring a quality striker and winger but we ended up with Carroll and Downing. I don't see FSG the type to keep on funding the club in a big way to buy in the same positions over and over again

    ReplyDelete
  177. Ferguson's example was in the 1980s, this is 2010s. Different clubs, different times, different circumstances, etc. People throw around this 'it took him that long' bla bla bla like confetti.

Were people throwing this excuse around when Hodgson was in charge?

    ReplyDelete
  178. Yawn. We are not a history museum, we shouldn't be resorting to relying on the past achievements.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Imagine, imagine, imagine

    More like excuses, excuses, excuses

Every club has players that leave and players that get injured

Its how you overcome it that defines you

    ReplyDelete
  180. 1. Either one (preferably red!) of the mancs, Arsenal, Tottenham or Newcastle will not win a trophy this year - despite the fact that they have each entered/played for at least four, if not five trophies.
    2. We have entered for three trophies only - won one - we also have an opportunity (50/50) to win another.
    3. 4th spot in the EPL does not guarantee top players being recruited or automatic status as one of the top teams in Europe (eg) Celtic/Rangers
    4. Despite buying LFC for very little money, despite the standard charter and new kit deal along with other lucrative commercial deals, we have spent in three transfer windows of our newest Manager, a balance of£40M.
No plans known reference Anfield. No talk/plans known reference stanley park.
In the meantime the wage bill for 'not fit for purpose players' has been reduced - many of which have been shipped out.
The players bought were all Internationals performing very well for their clubs.
Of new players bought this season has the £50M united paid out for three players been a resounding success...NO!
Who at City has shone this season but was not there last?
Chelsea, since spending money on Torres, have no-one who is stand out and that only leaves Newcastle who have performed very well with exciting, quick midfield and attacking players
Winning the title whilst under resourced for as many years as we have been should have meant a net spend of £100M+ during the last year and a further amount of £60M in this close season.
We, as long suffering Liverpool fans are being duped by the new owners - unless they do something about the size of our ground and re-investing the commercial investment/rewards to improve the team.

  181. What planet are u bird brain, a few games???? You are a true embarrassment to the club and need medical attention for having a go at people with ambition. You will always walk alone and by the way I'm a season ticket holder and been supported lfc for 27yrs. People like u have taken the club backwards!!

    ReplyDelete
  182. "U armchair non-scousers should support another club..."  Ok, if you're happy to be a smaller club than Everton, we'll find someone else to support - no problemo!!  Live in your little Liverpool bubble and see how far you get.  For a start, you wouldn't have owners...

    ReplyDelete
  183. Which of the top teams would not have Reina (his worst season by far this year!) Skyrtel/Agger, Gerrard/Lucas and/or Suarez??
Who would want to have Sterling, Suso, Coady and Wisdon coming through the ranks?Who thinks Kelly will be the next England right full back?We need to bite the bullet on the players brought in such as Henderson, Carroll and Adam - not now Liverpool standard and NEVER will be!!!Johnson, Kuyt, Maxi, Cole, Aquillani, Bellamy and Carra should have played their last games for Liverpool and now either be sold or retire (Carra has been brill for us and should remain on the coaching side!).We need players who are comfortable on the ball, can go past players, are speedy and to play them in their natural positions. Most of all we need Luis to play as an inside forward left, Gerrard, same right with a top, experienced, proven goal getter along with a younger/hungry to prove himself understudy.

Width should be achieved by having both midfield players and wing backs who play in their natural positions - both footed ideally but at least lefties playing LEFT side.
LFC to organise it (go ahead, fine us!!) somebody other than KD to conduct pre and post match interviews...

We are on the rise but we still need to remember just how far we have come since Rafa was reduced to buying Vorinin and Dagen, the woeful team spirit and defensive teams put out by one Mr.Hodgson and the munch monsters being at the helm of our wonderful football club.
    Keep the faith

    ReplyDelete
  184. Couldn't agree with you more.  I also think that Liverpool fans who are not Scousers are not as emotionally attached to the Club and it's history as we don't live in the thick of it day in, day out.  Possibly that makes us more realistic and less emotional in our assessment of the current state of affairs at LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Top 4 was the owner's expectation.... they said as much...

    ReplyDelete
  186. few point below.

    1) we are fans not owner, we can either support the team or leave the team
    2) Now that we know that FSG can be ruthless, if KD dont have any future plan for liverpool, it will make no sence for FSG to stick with him.
    3) all manager should be given 2 year time. ( 1st year to gel the team and 2nd year to get the result)
    4) liverpool is RICH in history and fans. i not from england, i might be wrong but from what i understand about liverpool fans is someone will not give up on their own team, and is someone that will stick with their manager and player as long their are playing for reds.
    5) abit of emo part, KD has done much for the club.
    6) We do enjoy good game under his spell, we just lack of end product. according to liverpool statistic, we control most of our possession this season, and we have alot of shot but no goal.

continue next time if you want.

    You're an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  188. The best and second best right back in England are Kyle Walker and Micah Richards I would rate them both ahead of Johnson and Kelly.
As for Downing even Tony Hibbert has more assists than him

    ReplyDelete
  189. Try selling Henderson ... We'll not even get a call this season. Him and ex-left back Djimi Traore are of the same category but at least Djimi made some decent tackles but does the ame thing after.... pass the ball backwards coz going forward means giving the ball away. Now Henderson  leads the pecking order of worst player since Kenny came back . True Red passenger !!! Letr anyone have him we still save alot !!! Best to do is send him out on loan to championship clubs so he learns what battles and urgencies mean !!!

    ReplyDelete
  190. I've been saying to my fellow LFC supporters all season that we're 5yrs behind (the 5yrs Benitez was in charge) the top 5 clubs in the league (Both Mancy clubs, Arse, Chelski & the Yids). Bringing his project to a premature end meant we'd have to go back to the begining of his reign and start again.  So a quick fix is bring him (Rafa) back and let him finish his project. Or we give Kenny time (in my opinion) knowing he's not capable of bridging that gap anytime soon. He would have stood a better chance had his buys (not Comoli's) been better.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Really in that case we should get Benitez back right away considering how dismal most of our signings have been.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Rafa also had six years in which he never won the title, but he came close one year, 2 championsleague finals and a FA cup. Not to mention the ever lasting memories of great games and players that played under him. Where was his chance or credit?

    ReplyDelete
  193. Chelsea were a top four side when they were purchased. They were also the first of the mega rich buy out and could offer top wages and European football. We are not in that position and success will not be instant. Players like Hazzard and Higuan will go to either Manchester or Chelsea because we can't offer them the level of football they need.

FSG have already said youth is the way ahead. And unfortunately that means success will not come for a few years yet, it will be little by little.

As a life long supporter (over 40 years) I'm prepared to accept it isn't going to happen overnight, especially with the new fair play rules.

So my friends, back the club in the time honoured Liverpool way. Listen to the words of the anthem.

    Walk on!

    ReplyDelete
  194. Ferguson was used as an example to stress the point that any manager at any club needs time, and yes you are right Hodgson didn't get that at Liverpool. Do we really want to turn into Chelsea, changing managers each season because we don't have instant success. Your also right about different times, back in the 80's the fans were genuine.

    ReplyDelete
  195. But it often helps you finished higher than eighth. You can go support Stoke if you'd like. But I watch football for entertainment, not just for the result.

    ReplyDelete
  196. I think for most of us, the worry is not simply the results, but the kind of players we have bought and the kind of football we are playing. There is a generally negative and underdog mentality throughout the whole squad and the lack of talent to back that up. If we are content to me a mid-table club then we are heading the right direction.

    ReplyDelete
  197. All though I am not going to switch allegiances any time soon, what he says does have a point. The style of play you employ is what you are judged on these days and how you will win over "casual" fans. Which although more passionate scouse fans may despise them, these kind of fans are important in many ways and contribute to the ongoing health of the club.

    ReplyDelete
  198. Yeah, I liked Babel he could have been something special but for me my biggest complaint with Rafa wasn't about Alonso (because people that were actually following the club at that time know that he was pretty useless for 18 months and only came right when Benitez threatened to sell him-plus he was desperate to go to Madrid) but his treatment of Babel. He was a phenomenal prospect scored something like 14 goals in his first season mostly of the bench, but Benitez hammered away at his confidence until he was as impotent as Dirk Kuyt. As much as I hate it, he would have done better at Arsenal where he could have expressed himself more freely without having to run all the way back to goal with a flying slide tackle to save the day to keep his place in the first team.
