Ex-Liverpool FC star dumped by Manchester United...

Former Liverpool striker Michael has revealed that his time with Manchester United has come to an end.

Posting on Twitter, Owen - who scored 158 goals for Liverpool between 1997 and 2004 - revealed that United manager Alex Ferguson took him aside after the Harry Gregg testimonial match on Tuesday and told him that the club 'would not be offering me a new contract'. He added:

"I have loved every minute of the 3 years I have spent at such a fantastic club.

"I would like to thank the players, staff and fans for their support and wish them well for the future.

"I now plan to have a short holiday during which I will contemplate my next move".

Given Owen's injury problems, it's hardly surprising that Ferguson has chosen to let him go. I wonder where he'll end up next; I'm sure there are still some Reds fans who would take Owen back at Liverpool, if only as a back-up striker. I can't see that ever happening though, nor would I want it to.

Despite his defection to United, Owen was a superb goalscorer for Liverpool, and hopefully he'll find a new club and put his injury worries permanently behind him.

  1. my worst owen moment was when he was celebrating the title win last season with united.....still can't get over that......i would never like to see him play for us again, even if he could guarantee 15 goals in a season.... he is one ex-player i can never hope good for cause he played for united.... for me what he did was worse than what torres did....

  7. He will no doubt get signed by some club and get 80 grand a week and play 5 games all season and earn about 2 million wages for it.
Lets face it the guy is now finished

  8. I wouldn't want to c him anywhere near Anfield. Calling them "fantastic club" makes me sick. I couldn't care less what he does next.

  9. Too many LFC fans define themselves by what happens at Man Utd - Fowler went to Leeds and Man City (and failed there) while Owen went to Man Utd and scored the winning goal in a classic derby and the winning goal in the 2010 League Cup final. But many LFC fans think Fowler is god!

If LFC are to make progress they are going to have to define themselves as something other than being an anti-"Man Utd". Shankly didn't set up LFC to take on Man Utd or Everton, he set them up to win the league - everything thing else would follow from that (and it did).

  11. Owen is complete waster spends more time at the races than on the pitch. However with Yanks knowing sweet FA about football they will snap him up on a Bosman on a 3 year deal at 100k a week.

He was a wonderful servant to Liverpool and will always be remembered for his performance. I find it interesting that Owen who is between 32 to 34 years old is ravaged with so many injury problems while Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes play on like they fell in the fountain of youth. When it is time it is time Micheal.

  14. I'd have him on the bench if he would accept 'pay as you play' or 'pay when you are able to make the bench'. Good finisher to 'all' those chances we create? He could be our man. A striker that used to be popular who is now hated on the terraces. He could be a carling cup and europa league option.

This article is showing good representation regarding software overviews. But do you know every steps of developing should be taken carefully by us. We are introducing eCommerce platforms Magento, prestashop and others. It allows users to enable their customers to access their eCommerce sites on mobile platforms.  With Magento there is an obvious solution - Multi-Store. This is where you split your inventory up into two or more stores, all being run from a single Magento instance.
