VIDEO: LFC target Cristian Tello scores 2 goals on Champions League debut...

Earlier this week, the Agent of Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello confirmed that 'many' teams are interested in signing the young striker. Liverpool are one of the team's reported to be following his progress, and after Barcelona's stunning victory against Bayer Leverkusen, Tello's price probably went up by about 50%.

Lionel Messi's five goal masterclass stole the headlines after the 7-1 Champions League drubbing of Bayer Leverkusen last night, but Tello made a fantastic contribution of his own, scoring two goals in his first ever Champions League game.

Tello 4-0

Tello 6-0

The young forward is out of contract at the end of the season, but it seems that his immediate future will be at the Nou Camp after his Agent confirmed that the Spain Tello is 'now in negotiations with Barca'.

Even if there is interest from abroad, I can't see why Tello would want to leave the greatest footballing side on the planet. He is getting first team action, and being around the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta all the time can only help him improve.

If Tello came to Liverpool, he'd probably spend most of his time warming the bench, watching Andy Carroll lumber aimlessly around the pitch.

After the game, Tello spoke to the Press about his excitement over scoring two goals on his Champions League debut:

Sadly, Liverpool can only dream about attracting the best young talent like this at the moment.

  1. give up playing with messi, xavi, iniesta and fabregas every week to play with downing and hnderson.
he'd be better off getting a job as a rent boy on the albert dock.

  3. last summer we were heavily linked jeffren, bojan and afellay.
i remember people saying bojan was too small etc.i'd have him with one leg in the side ahead of carroll and henderson.

  4. Too good for us and our coaching staff, I'm afraid. If he came here he'd be on the bench for not tracking back enough.

All arguments about which league is the best at the moment are surely going to be settled as Bilbao are taking to Man Utd, I've a friend from Bilbao who said they had the best team in years, he's said that a few times and i took no notice, but they are like 'Barcelona light' with a striker who is good in the air and great on the deck. Am now totally gutted we didn't come in for Llorente and spent the 35 million on Carroll, he looks outstanding. When he gets the ball, it sticks to him, giving the midfielders a chance to get close and support him. If he's on the Spain bench, they will even have a plan b if their usual game does not work. If these guys don't put Man Utd out of the Europa League I'll be shocked, they look like a class outfit. 5th in La Liga.

  5. falcao who is now at athletico madrid is another player we should have busted our balls to get in the summer instead of commoli chasing a crock like marveaux for the summer.
