GM confirms: €15m Liverpool striker target is wanted by '15 clubs'...

The Agent of Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez recently confirmed that he'd held talks with Liverpool FC over a potential move to the Premier League, and now, Anderlecht General Manager Herman van Holsbeeck has confirmed that a whole host of clubs are watching the Argentinian attacker.

Speaking to Calciomercato last week, Suarez's Agent, Jorge Cyterzpiler admitted that he had "spoken with Liverpool" about a transfer, but also revealed that 'Juventus and the two Manchester clubs are also watching him'.

Cyterzpiler also hinted that his client would leave in the summer, and in an interview with VoetballInfo yesterday, Van Holsbeek confirmed that Suarez is a wanted man:

"There are 15 clubs that are ready to meet our asking price for Suarez, and Juventus are one of those teams. We already received an offer from Russia, but his wife doesn't want to move there"

The €15m-rated 23 year old has an excellent record of 44 goals and 34 assists in 99 games for Anderlecht so far, which equates to a goal or assist every 1.2 games.

Luis Suarez came from the Eredivise, which is arguably on a similar level of quality to the Belgian league, and he took to England very quickly. Perhaps Suarez's namesake could do the same.

Alas, it seems that there may be a major barrier in the way of any proposed move to England. As an Argentinean national, Suarez would require a work permit, and Liverpool cult hero Ronny Rosenthal - who now works as a 'football consultant - is not confident that a solution can be found. He told Voetballkrant:

"I think the chance is small that Suarez will get a work permit. Exceptions are granted only for young talents from eighteen to twenty years, but Suarez in May will be 24. Either he must urgently play some internationals, or he will have to focus more on other leagues".

HAVE YOUR SAY: Should Kenny be embarrassed by this shocking celebration of mediocrity?

  2. If he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, it's pricks like you that put him there.

    Sorry, but get some perspective.

  3. Hope he is a much better finisher than Luis. Getting beyond a joke, the amount he misses. Its not 'bad luck' to hit the post so many times, it is simply rubbish finishing or the goal size was bigger in The Netherlands(!)

  7. If he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown it is trying to work out why the people who need an intelligence check can understand the loss at QPR better than he can. Must be up all night trying to work that one out.
